General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Health Notes | No issues so far, she has one tiny toenail that's grown sideways but doesn't impact function in any way, it's just a cute little quirk! Other Dogs | She LOVES her older foster sister-dog, she would do great in a home with another dog friend to play with.  Cats | Not sure, haven't tested as foster doesn't have cats.  Children | She does great with older kids! Haven't tested with little ones yet. Training | Violet sleeps all night in her crate and will sometimes kennel herself during the daytime for quick naps. She's doing terrific on potty training, sometimes goes to the door and asks to be let out, other times whines if she needs to go and we're not near the door. She still has 1-2 potty accidents a day, mainly during playtime if shes wrestling with our other dog. She knows how to sit for treats but gets a bit rambunctious if its dinner time and she thinks you're moving slow. She'll need reminders not to jump or bark when she's excited about food. She's smart as a whip though, and picks up quickly.  Leash | Working with a harness now, she's not really excited about the leash yet but we're working on it. She'd prefer to be carried around and loved on.  Activity Level | Moderate so far, she plays hard in the yard with kids and our other dogs, then settles down and naps nicely. She'll need mental stimulation and exercise as she grows so she doesn't get frustrated or destructive.  Personality | The only thing Violet takes seriously is belly rubs! She is a total love bug who practically melts into ear rubs, back scratches and belly massages. Otherwise she's goofy and playfully sweet. She loves toys and is working on fetch/return with a ball. She's not timid but she definitely hangs back to assess the situation  before jumping in. She'll pick up on your vibe, wait for reassurance then her confidence builds quickly.   Story | Can you believe  this princess was picked as a stray and taken to the shelter! Someone obviously made a big mistake, she has to be royalty and definitely deserves pampering. If you are ready to spoil Violet with belly rubs and snacks she will accept and return the adoration.  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $350 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $300 for 1-6 years, $250 for dogs 7-10 years, and $100 for 11+ years of age. General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.     Health Notes | This girl needs to gain a few pounds but she's completely healthy!  Other Dogs | She LOVES other dogs, actually flourishes with them and we would like her to go to a home with other pups to continue to build her confidence. Cats | No cats in the current foster but she's so great with all animals, we don't expect there'd be an issue. Children | Children can move fast - she's unsure of life in general because her first 8 months couldn't have been that great. We don't think she would have issues with kids at all, but a little older might be better for her.  Training | She has no formal training but she's potty trained and doesn't tend to push boundries. Puppy school would be good for her confidence!  Leash | Winifred is great on leash, she doesn't pull. She loves to walk with other dogs. Activity Level | Medium Personality | This girl wants to love people so very much. She adores dogs and will play like a typical puppy. Story | We don't know Winifred's story but we can tell you she came to us SO shut down and scared. First night she wouldn't get out of her crate, but she's continuing to open up in her foster home and the dogs in the household are helping her tremendously. She's such a happy girl with so much potential. She would do super well in a home with another confident, alpha dog. She's super calm and loving overall. Thank you! | Karen and family, thank you for taking this girl in!  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $350 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $300 for 1-6 years, $250 for dogs 7-10 years, and $100 for 11+ years of age. We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page! We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved.  Your application is good for 90 days from the time of approval for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle.  show less

General Notes | So you want a Lab?  Then get your application approved and come meet Bubba!    Health Notes |  Other Dogs | This boy was found with another dog, he has been great with dogs,  big and small. Cats | Unknown Children | He's great with children of all sizes, loves the kiddos  Training |  Leash | Needs some leash work but is manageable on the leash Activity Level | Typical lab energy. Will hike and play with you as long as you want. Personality | Chill when he needs to be, but also could be a great hiking/active dog if you wanted. He's really a typical lab! Story | This boy was found running along the side of a highway in rural Kansas. The finder grabbed him and his friend, took them back to Denver and checked for a chip and nothing. He was likely dumped...this is a normal occurance in KS and some of the other areas we save our dogs. He's happy to be safe and have a foster home that loves him! Health Notes | Betty entered our care extremely underweight, had flea dermatitis and she is heartworm positive. Other Dogs | Betty is so happy to meet other dogs! She currently hangs out with another dog while in foster care. She has no signs of food aggression. Cats | Unsure as there aren't cats in Betty's foster home.  Children | Betty does great with kids! She has a 4yo little boy that is around her all day long. Training | She knows basic commands! Treat motivated. Her foster recently taught her going up and down a ramp is not scary. Betty can be out in the front yard and does not try and run away. Leash | So easy on a leash and does not pull. Activity Level | Right now her activity level is fairly low with spurts of energy when we are outside playing fetch with our other dog. Short walks. Betty's activity level will probably increase once she gets rid of her heartworms. Personality | Betty is incredibly sweet and just so happy to be around her people. She is so easy, completely house trained and rarely makes a peep! Story | Betty was found wandering the streets of Houston.  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $350 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $300 for 1-6 years, $250 for dogs 7-10 years, and $100 for 11+ years of age.
