General Notes | Want to adopt this dog? Please do not email us. Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP. Health Notes | No issues so far, she has one tiny toenail that's grown sideways but doesn't impact function in any way, it's just a cute little quirk! Other Dogs | She LOVES her older foster sister-dog, she would do great in a home with another dog friend to play with. Cats | Not sure, haven't tested as foster doesn't have cats. Children | She does great with older kids! Haven't tested with little ones yet. Training | Violet sleeps all night in her crate and will sometimes kennel herself during the daytime for quick naps. She's doing terrific on potty training, sometimes goes to the door and asks to be let out, other times whines if she needs to go and we're not near the door. She still has 1-2 potty accidents a day, mainly during playtime if shes wrestling with our other dog. She knows how to sit for treats but gets a bit rambunctious if its dinner time and she thinks you're moving slow. She'll need reminders not to jump or bark when she's excited about food. She's smart as a whip though, and picks up quickly. Leash | Working with a harness now, she's not really excited about the leash yet but we're working on it. She'd prefer to be carried around and loved on. Activity Level | Moderate so far, she plays hard in the yard with kids and our other dogs, then settles down and naps nicely. She'll need mental stimulation and exercise as she grows so she doesn't get frustrated or destructive. Personality | The only thing Violet takes seriously is belly rubs! She is a total love bug who practically melts into ear rubs, back scratches and belly massages. Otherwise she's goofy and playfully sweet. She loves toys and is working on fetch/return with a ball. She's not timid but she definitely hangs back to assess the situation before jumping in. She'll pick up on your vibe, wait for reassurance then her confidence builds quickly. Story | Can you believe this princess was picked as a stray and taken to the shelter! Someone obviously made a big mistake, she has to be royalty and definitely deserves pampering. If you are ready to spoil Violet with belly rubs and snacks she will accept and return the adoration. Thank you! | Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $350 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $300 for 1-6 years, $250 for dogs 7-10 years, and $100 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $400. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $500 per dog). Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet & greets by appointment to approved applicants only. To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. Please know | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page! We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved. Your application is good for 90 days from the time of approval for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle.
