General Notes | What an amazing boy!!! Rufus, a handsome four-year-old labradoodle, is a fun gentleman with a heart full of gold. Much like his name, this devoted boy has a rich, comforting spirit and a charming, shaggy look. He’s a stable and loving companion, ready to bring his distinguished personality and a lifetime of unwavering loyalty to your family. He is truly an amazing dog! He is potty trained, loves other dogs, great off leash and on, chill and also a athletic- all while being a best friend.  Want to adopt this dog? Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Sweet, loyal, playful, calm.  Story | Rufus came into foster care about 3 weeks ago and has transitioned well to a family dog! He loves his people and other dogs.  H He’s been good with kids of all ages, and truly is as sweet as they come!  Other Dogs | Rufus adores other dogs. Started a little timid and unsure but with his foster siblining dogs showing Rufus what to do, he loves to play. Give him a stuffy and he’s up for a game of chase or tug any time of day.    We’ve had zero thoughts of any kind of escape from the 6 foot fence even with dogs on the other side, zero issues with feeding all dogs together, he jumps in the car on his own, and did great off leash with our other dogs in an open field.   He will go in a kennel but does fine left alone free roam.  Cats | Interested and still learning Children | Great Training | House-trained Leash | great! Activity Level | Medium, he likes to run and play with his foster sibliing dogs in their back yard but chills out easily Health Notes | Rufus is heartworm positive, but treatment is very successful and completely manageable with all the proper education. MHLRM will cover the expense of treatment at one of our approved veterinarians. Heartworm positive dogs go on to live happy, normal lives after treatment and rarely experience long-term side effects. Don't let this stop you from adopting Rufus! Thank you! |  Adoption Donations |  Our adoption donations are $475 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $425 for 1-6 years, $375 for dogs 7-10 years, and $250 for 11+ years of age. She has an unwavering temperament and a huge heart, making her incredible with kids, gentle with cats, and a friendly player with all dogs.  With a coat the color of a setting sun and a disposition that is pure gold, Mango is a dream companion for any family. If you're looking for a loyal, robust, and completely reliable best friend, Mango is the easiest, sweetest addition you could ever make! Want to adopt this dog? Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Mango is a happy girl who has never met a stranger!  Story | Mango is coming all the way from New Mexico to find a new home! She has co-existed well and likes to hang with friends if her family is away Cats | Mango secretly hopes every day that the cats she currently lives with will play with her. She co-exists well but may need some help with boundaries if the cats are over her play requests Children | Mango has lived with newborns up to school age children and she loves them! Training | Mango is still working on tuning up some of her best skills but she is a quick learner. Per her previous family, she knows "sit", "come", "stay" and "leave it". She would like to be fully informed of any snacks out on the counters and she would do best in a yard with a six-foot fence. Mango has some hops!  Leash | Mango gets pretty excited for walks!  Activity Level | Moderate to high. Mango would make a wonderful running or hiking buddy. General Notes | Looking for a mellow, sweet companion who appreciates leisurely walks, lots of outside time, naps, and couch time? Please meet Maryanne a lovely 7 year old Lab in her golden glory days. She's looking for her Wanda! Earls need not apply 😉 Want to adopt this dog? Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Maryanne is a sweetheart!  She fills the room with her bouncing step and constantly wagging tail. Equally ready for a nice walk around the neighborhood or a nap. Maryanne is plenty spunky and playful, but when it's time to settle, she's happy to nap nearby.  Story | We suspect Maryanne lived in a loving home at some point, she's a good girl. Maryanne was found on the streets of Houston, taken to the shelter, never claimed, and eventually she made way to Colorado with MHLM.   Other Dogs | Maryanne is quite social outside of the house but she is sometimes not a fan of dogs getting in her face and may give a little warning. She is also a bit of piggy around food and may eat other pups food if they leave it unattended, so feeding her separately is best. Maryanne has lived with other dogs, but may be best as a solo dog.   Cats | unknown Children | Maryanne has lived with a 9 year old. Training | Maryanne knows the basics and is very treat motivated. She has been left alone in the house with no problems. She listens to all commands with ease and doesn't beg.  Leash | She can pull a bit for the first few minutes of a walk (she gets VERY excited when the leash is brought out) but usually will calm down after a bit. Activity Level | She has that wonderful mix of occasional energy and lazyness. She loves to chase balls and will sometimes even bring it back. Like the good lab that she is, she LOVES to swim!  Maryanne is relunctant about stairs, a home with few stairs would be preferred. Health Notes | Maryanne is in good heath and up to date on shots. She does have some stiffness but is always ready for a walk.  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations |  Our adoption donations are $475 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $425 for 1-6 years, $375 for dogs 7-10 years, and $250 for 11+ years of age.
