UPDATE: Astro has now completed the CO Women's Prison training program! He has learned all the commands! He knows how to walk on a leash great, is crate trained and kdnows to sit on his place and retrieve items. He is calm an ADORES children! Astro would be great in a home with an easygoing dog/dogs. He is a great fit for any family that wants to add a chill lab to their pack. He comes with weekly training classes for any adopter that wants to brush up on their skills! --------------------- This is Astro. The most trainable three year old lab you have ever met.   Not quite two months...off all (un-necessary) medications, eating food, from shaking/growling/shivering to smiling and jumping. We are still working on re-direction at times, but overall, it's a total transformation.     Astro will be looking for a new foster family in the coming weeks. He is amazing with children, but a bit strong on leash (adults only), enjoys fetch, long walks and would thrive in a fenced in yard.  He is new-ish to experiencing life since coming off medication, so things can be overwelming to him in the moment (like deer running, or the sound of a drone) and is food focused for re-direction/comfort during these new moments in life.  No aggression whatsoever in this home (and he takes a lot from a three year old). He is crate trained, so we did that for a few days, and now he sleeps on an ottoman through the night.  He would prefer a home that is not empty as he does like companionship.   All in all he's a new dog from the one that was rescued. show less

If you want a bougie pup then Cooper may be for you- he can tell the differnce in Starbucks ice & fridge ice!  No lie,  he picks the Sbux ice out to eat, hahah!   General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Health Notes | Healthy & Happy  Other Dogs | Cooper plays well with other pups as long as toys are not involved.. Toy introduction would need to be a slow steady intro, if at all. Cooper loves playing with the 2 family pups in the yard, but prefers to be with his people. Cats | Unsure, but doesn't show any real interest in squirrels or dogs passing by the yard Children |  Training | Knows basic commands. Is working on improving his manners. He likes to hop right up and give his people a hug.. which not everyone appreciates, so Coopers foster family is working on teaching Cooper his size, haha! Leash | As with most young labs, Cooper is excited to go for walks & in his excitement sometimes tries to walk the human!  Activity Level | Typical 1 year old lab (moderately high). Cooper is looking for a human who is a strong leader & enjoys the great outdoors with a canine companion & would enjoy playing big spoon to this sweet boy  Personality | Sweet and playful, he likes to "chase cars" from the safety of the backseat, ha ha! He dashes from one side of the car to the other when he spots an oncoming vehicle. Story | You can read more about Cooper on our Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/CedvQqwrzVV/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. Dixie is a super sweet, well-behaved, laid back gal who can't wait to meet her forever family! General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Health Notes | Dixie came to Mile High heartworm positive (which is not contagious!). She has started treatment and is doing great. She is also gradually gaining much needed weight. Otherwise she's healthy and happy! Other Dogs | She is very playful with her foster brother (who is also a lab). Every morning, the first thing she does when she leaves her crate is head to the rug to wrestle him (after a quick stop for some love and scratches from the humans in the house, of course!).  Cats | We haven't seen her around cats, so unsure.  Children | Dixie loves the human foster siblings (and all their friends)! Training | She is completely potty trained (no accidents!) and is learning to sit! She is starting to learn some other basic commands, and seems to be treat-motivated. Dixie does great in her crate at bedtime and when the foster family leaves. She's a master at keeping "four on the floor," even when meeting and greeting new people. She loves to chew on toys, but has never chewed on anything she's not supposed to.  Leash | She does pretty well on leash, and doesn't pull too much or very hard. She could probably use some leash training to perfect her skills, but overall, she's doing well! Activity Level | She's a very chill little lady, and is happy to just hang with her people. But she still has enough energy to roughhouse with her foster brother.  Personality | Dixie is the sweetest little thing! It took her a few days to decompress and settle into her new home, but she comes out of her shell a little more every day. She loves to be with people, and follows her foster parents around the house. She's met a ton of new people (including lots of kids) and is warm and sweet to all of them. This dog is going to bring a lot of joy into her forever home.    Story | She came from a shelter in Texas, but beyond that, we don't know much about Dixie's past. It is apparent she has had puppies (probably recently), but no more information about that. She also came to Mile High very underweight, but is gradually filling out. Dixie can't wait to meet her forever family and start the next chapter of her story.  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. Lulu, is ready to meet a family that is active, patient and loving!    General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Health Notes | Happy & Healthy - delivered puppies recently but they are weaned and mama is ready to be single again!  Other Dogs | Lulu is good with other dogs and will do well in a home with an established pack to teach her how to "dog." She grows more confident every day! Cats | She is slowly becoming more confident around her foster's cat.  She will do well in a home with cats, but she needs a cat is not afraid to take the lead in establishing their relationship, and wouldn't do well around agressive cats. Children | Lulu has been in a foster home with older children and she loves them, but can be timid of quick movements and loud noises, although she grows more confident every day!!  Training | Lulu is still adjusting from her life as a stray. She listens well & is sooo smart, but needs a patient adopter to work through her trust issues. Training is recommended to help Lulu learn how to be a normal dog.  Leash | She is great on the leash and enjoys walks around the neighborhood. This is one of the best ways for Lulu to build confidence! Also, she has discovered hiking with her foster family and absolutely loves it! She gets a little startled by bikes & Quick movements, but once she learns the hiking ropes there will be no stopping her! Activity Level | Lulu is just starting to become playful and explore toys. She's  becoming a happy, energetic girl as she comes out of her shell.  Personality | Lulu is a very sweet, submissive dog. She is still adjusting to life in a home after spending time as a stray, but she is learning quickly, following her foster family around everywhere and curling up at their feet. She needs a patient adopter to build trust and gain confidence. She is loyal and loving once she warms up to you! General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Health Notes |  Other Dogs | Cleo is great with other dogs! She is currently in a foster home with two large labs and medium size pitbull. She loves to play with them, but also knows when to respect their boundaries and calm down.  Cats | Cleo hasn't met a cat yet, but her foster mom thinks she would be fine with proper introductions.  Children | Cleo has met a few children and done really well! She's a little timid of their quick movements and loud voices, however, she has not shown any signs of aggression toward them. She happily sits back and watches them when it is too overwhelming. She accepts gentle pets and will give kisses! Training | Cleo is learning basic commands like sit, down, off, stay and come. She's food motivated and will be easy to train.  Leash | Cleo does surprisingly well on a leash for her age and lack of practice! She does not pull, but needs more training to not zig-zag while walking. Activity Level | Cleo is your typical lab puppy. She enjoys playing with other dogs, humans and children. She will play quietly with toys or chew a bone on her own. Cleo really loves to chase a ball. We are working on knowing to bring it back! Personality | She is such a sweet girl! She loves to be next to her humans. She can be a little shy at first but has warmed up to her foster family quickly. This girl will surely shine with a little training and love! Story | Cleo was rescued from a high-kill shelter outside of Houston, TX. She is excited to live the good life in Colorado! Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age.
