General Notes | 5 Star Review for Addie! Personality | Addie is amazing. She is smart, hilarious and quick, but also knows how to chill when she needs to. She definitely has lots of puppy energy, loves dogs and kids, very cuddly, so far has been a great car rider, and totally fine sleeping in a crate or in bed. Not sure about the actual level of “lab” in her. She’s tiny, only 30 pounds, takes treats gently, and does well with distractions when she wants to chew. Five star puppy. Story | Addie was found as a stray in rural Arkansas. She was skinny, covered in fleas and experiencing hair loss due to lack of nutrition. She looks and feels great now! Other Dogs | Great with my 6 year old lab, they play hard a couple of times per day. Cats | Not sure how she'd do with cats, she LOVES to chase squirrels, and seems to have strong hunting instincts. Children | LOVES children. Plays well with them. Training | Knows sit, working on come and stay. Takes treats gently. No food aggression. She's still distracted easily at times because she's young, but she is very smart. Right now, she has some separation anxiety, we're working on that. Leash | Great when we walk by ourselves, not so great when there is a chaos of walking two dogs at once. (I think I'm the one who needs training on this). Activity Level | Lazy Crazy. Sleeps well all night, when we took her to an off leash park she was the fastest dog there and loves sprinting and leaping. Addie would do well with another dog / kids / yard to keep her active. She's better behaved when she can run for a bit in the morning. She just started to enjoy digging in the yard, so that's something we're going to work on. Health Notes | Loves food, came to us with some dermatitis, but seems fine now, and her coat is filling in more. Thank you! | Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $475 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $425 for 1-6 years, $375 for dogs 7-10 years, and $250 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $525. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $700 per dog). Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet & greets by appointment to approved applicants only. To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. Please know | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page! We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved. Your application is good for 90 days from the time of approval for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle.
