General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Want to meet the PERFECT dog? This is your girl! Butter is a very loving, sweet dog. You will always feel like the most important person in the world when she greets you. She loves to walk outside and enjoy the fresh air, meeting people, and see other furry friends. She is eager to learn commands and loves treats! She always wants to be by her people and loves to be petted and share kisses. She is a wonderful family dog - she has plenty of kisses and love to go around to everyone.  Story | Butter was found as a stray and on the euthansia list at a high kill shelter in Texas. She has had puppies in the past (unknown when), and it seems as though she has lived in a home before given how easily she adapted to being fostered. No matter how hard her past may have been, she is such an amazing, resilient girl who just wants to love and be loved!  Other Dogs | Friendly! Butter is an active lab that enjoys playing with other dogs.  Cats | Unknown. Children | Butter is gentle and friendly with children. So patient with her foster family's 5 and 8 year olds, who are quickly becoming her best friends. She can't wait for them to wake up in the mornings to play each day. She's very respectful of their things and has never tried to take anything that isn't for her (she is still learning how to play with toys in general).  Training | Smart! Butter is quickly learning commands. She loves treats which makes training easy! She is completely housebroken, rides in the car well, and does not mind being in a crate when needed (though she does great staying out alone, too).  Leash | She is learning to walk nicely on the leash. She is energetic and pulls when excited - which is a lot because she is such a happy, social girl. This is an easy issue to correct with time and practice, and she's doing so well!  Activity Level | Medium. Butter is a younger lab that needs regular exercise and socialization. She would love an active adopter to take her on daily walks and adventures.  Health Notes | Very happy and healthy Thank you! |  Adoption Donations |  Our adoption donations are $475 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $425 for 1-6 years, $375 for dogs 7-10 years, and $250 for 11+ years of age. General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Puck is the absolute sweetest boy. He is perfect with other dogs and cats! He's a little love bug.  Loves to cuddle and is relatively calm for an 8 month old dog.  He loves to play chase with his foster brother and he absolutely loves to have soft squeaky toys.  He's basically housebroken - still occasionally marks in the house but usually it's his foster brother's food bowl.  He's doing great on eating.  He runs to his bed and waits for the food bowl and immediately eats.  He takes treats well and lines up when he knows it's treat time.  We walks great on leash.  Probably the only thing that still causes a little stress is cars that are going by very fast.  He isn't bothered by other dogs and cars travelling down the neighborhood street. Loves the backyard.  I don't have a dog door but I'm betting that he would be great with one and would love having the option to go outside whenever he wants. He is so, so sweet. He still gets nervous in the car - mostly just shaking a lot.  This little guy just needs a few days to decompress and feel secure.  He gives all the kisses and snuggles.  I've attached a few more pictures. Story | Puck was found as a stray and brought into a high kill shelter. Other Dogs | Friendly! Puck is in a foster home with other dogs and loves to play with them. Cats | Puck is great with cats! Even the grumpy old cat doesn't mind sweet little Puck.  Children | Puck has done great with kids.   Training | Puck is a quick learner. He is house trained and does not mind the crate. Leash | He walks nicely on leash.  Activity Level | Medium. He has the typical temperment and energy level of a pug. Health Notes | Healthy! Thank you! Personality | Juniper is your typical lab puppy. She's got a ton of energy, food motivation, and lots of love to give. She loves to give kisses and does well with physical handling, baths, and nail trims. She's got spunk and sass, and still barks at her own reflection or strangers on the TV. Story | Came to Colorado with mamma and her siblings. Mamma Poppy was a backyard breeding dog. We are guessing pups have some Hound in them based on their ears and face, but have mostly the personality of a lab. Other Dogs | Juniper is great with other dogs. She loves to wrestle and play tug-of-war. She has grown a lot learning from her foster siblings. She goes to daycare several times a week with her foster mom and absolutely loves it. She will do well with another dog at home, or kept up with regular socialization. Cats | Unknown Children | Unknown for sure, but should be fine if introduced at a young age Training | We are currently working on basic and potty training. She has learned the doggy door, but not the potty association yet, but she will go outside if taken out often. She sleeps well through the night in a crate with no accidents. She does bark when startled and when playing. While she does well in a crate, an apartment would not be the best fit for her energy level. Leash | Unknown Activity Level | High energy puppy - she'll need a lot of exercise and attention, but is a good napper and sleeps throught the night. Health Notes | Healthy girl Thank you! | Juniper is being fostered by Bri in Westminster, with the help of her crew in daycare at Waggin' Tails Dog Resort in Northglenn. Adoption Donations |  Our adoption donations are $475 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $425 for 1-6 years, $375 for dogs 7-10 years, and $250 for 11+ years of age. Unfortunately family was unable to take them and surrendered to a high kill shelter.  Other Dogs | Friendly!  Cats | the Texas foster has 3 cats and they all got along very well. No issues at all. Klein is so chill with everything. Had to wait for him to move from in front of the lawn mower sometimes and the vacuum cleaner did not phase him. Children |  Training |  Leash | He is amazing on a leash and responds to voice commands and very light directions from the leash. He loves walks and usually does his business during those times. No accidents in the house even with severe diarrhea the first 4 days. Activity Level |  Health Notes |  Thank you! Personality | Penny is a very friendly and sweet dog. She enjoys cuddling, playing and exploring the neighborhood on walks. She is always smiling and wagging her tail. She has that happy Lab personality we all know and love. Story | She was dumped in a field in TX with her two brothers before a hurricane.  Other Dogs | Penny is a friendly pup who enjoys playing with other dogs. She has been socialized with dogs of all ages. She'd love a home with another dog although it is not a necessity.  Cats | Unsure. Penny has not been exposed to cats in her foster home. Children | Friendly! Penny met several children at puppy yoga. She is friendly and gentle with them.  Training | Quick learner and treat motivated! She knows sit and leave it. Penny sleeps in the crate overnight and does not mind staying in the crate when foster mom runs errands. She is fully house trained too! She is a great car rider and ready for lots of adventures.  Leash | Penny walks nicely on leash. She does not pull unless really excited to greet someone. We are confident she'll get better with more exposure! Activity Level | Penny is still a young lab with puppy energy. She does well with a morning and evening walk, and a few play sessions during the day. She is not overly hyper and understands when it is time to chill.  Health Notes | Healthy! Penny is up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Puppies to 1 year - $425, 1-6 years - $375, 7-10 years - $325, and 11+ years - $175. General Notes | 5 Star Review for Addie!  Personality | Addie is amazing. She is smart, hilarious and quick, but also knows how to chill when she needs to. She definitely has lots of puppy energy, loves dogs and kids, very cuddly, so far has been a great car rider, and totally fine sleeping in a crate or in bed. Not sure about the actual level of “lab” in her. She’s tiny, only 30 pounds, takes treats gently, and does well with distractions when she wants to chew. Five star puppy. Story | Addie was found as a stray in rural Arkansas. She was skinny, covered in fleas and experiencing hair loss due to lack of nutrition. She looks and feels great now!  Other Dogs | Great with my 6 year old lab, they play hard a couple of times per day.  Cats | Not sure how she'd do with cats, she LOVES to chase squirrels, and seems to have strong hunting instincts.  Children | LOVES children. Plays well with them.  Training | Knows sit, working on come and stay. Takes treats gently. No food aggression. She's still distracted easily at times because she's young, but she is very smart. Right now, she has some separation anxiety, we're working on that.  Leash | Great when we walk by ourselves, not so great when there is a chaos of walking two dogs at once. (I think I'm the one who needs training on this).  Activity Level | Lazy Crazy. Sleeps well all night, when we took her to an off leash park she was the fastest dog there and loves sprinting and leaping. Addie would do well with another dog / kids / yard to keep her active. She's better behaved when she can run for a bit in the morning. She just started to enjoy digging in the yard, so that's something we're going to work on.  Health Notes | Loves food, came to us with some dermatitis, but seems fine now, and her coat is filling in more.  Thank you! Personality | Ellie is a super sweet, cuddly, playful girl! She gets timid in new situations but warms up quickly with a little encouragement. She loves to be by your side and will follow you around! She's a happy girl who always has her tongue out and a smile on her face! Don't miss out on this perfect, gorgeous girl :)  Story | Surrendered to MHLRM by a puppy mill. She seems to be one of the more confident with people of the bunch and warmed up to her foster family almost immediately. She would do just fine as an only dog or with a dog brother or sister as long as she can get cuddles from her people!  Other Dogs | great with other dogs  Cats | She is being fostered with two cats and mostly ignores them. She'll let the kitty cuddle up on one side of you as she cuddles up to the other side :) Children | She's a sweetheart so she's probably good with kids! She does like to jump, but she's small enough that she probably wouldn't knock any littles over :) She's met small children on walks and adored them. Training She hasn't been destructive with furniture yet and mostly sticks with her toys. She's good at keeping herself occupied with toys and doesn't need someone to constantly keep an eye on her to keep her out of trouble. She's still got lots of puppy in her so will need consistent training as she continues to grow up! She rides well in the back seat and doesn't get scared at all. She'll hop right into the car since she knows it means she gets to tag along with the humans! She was initially scared of the crate and would bark while she was in there, but has gotten much more confortable in just a few days. She still gets scared and barks when left alone in her crate and would be better going to a house. She wasn't potty trained when she first came to her new foster family, but she learned quickly. She is easy to train since she's a super smart Labrador! She learned sit in a few days. Leash | She gets more and more confident on the leash everyday! She doesn't pull and hasn't shown any reactivity to other dogs or people on the leash so far! She's a very loyal girl who prefers to be by your side! She's gone to large, open space dog parks and stays by your side, so she probably will do great with recall training. She tagged along to a brewery recently and did amazing! She was happy to greet every person and dog! She didn't bark at all and sat quietly by her foster parents feet. She's the perfect sidekick for all your future adventures!  Activity Level | She's still got plenty of puppy in her and loves to chase toys and play with other dogs. She would love to find an active home. She loves to play fetch and will bring the ball back to you! Health Notes | Ellie is healthy and happy! She's on the smaller side for a lab and likely won't be too big when she's fully grown. She was spayed on 7/3 and is ready for all the dog parks and hiking adventures!  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations |  Our adoption donations are $475 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $425 for 1-6 years, $375 for dogs 7-10 years, and $250 for 11+ years of age. Meet Lily! She loves learning from and playing with other dogs. She has learned to trust humans and now loves affection from anyone willing to give her some! Story | Surrendered to MHLRM from a puppy mill along with several of her sisters.  Other Dogs | Lily does well with the other dogs in the house. They are teaching her how to be a dog. Though not required, Lily would probably prefer to have another dog in the home to help her adjust and continue to learn to trust humans.  Cats | no exposure, but would probably co-exist without any issues.  Children | Lily lives with teenagers and would probably love younger kids as well.  Training | Lily is doing great with potty training as long as she is taken out regularly. She sleeps in her foster's bedroom at night.  Leash | Lily does great on a leash and will stay right by your side following your lead.  Activity Level | Lily is a typical puppy!
