General Notes | He is a beauty! And such a lover!! Very gentle with kids and cats, loves to play with other dogs and is submissive to them unless provoked. Responds great to commands, learned sit, working on stay, walks well on leash and is working on "come", but is eager to please and treat motivated. Sleeps better next to his companion or on a bed on the floor than in his crate, but will go in crate overnight if needed with minimal whining and holds his potty all night. No accidents in a week and I've let him out multiple times a day. Loves hiking and learning to swim! Just wants to be by you and love on you and never leave your side. Will get less anxious over time with a reassurance that his owner will always love him and come back. Here is what I know: Loves stuffies and soft toys like pool noodles and balls and  will shred them, if left unattended.  Still has some puppy energy, so needs at least one nice walk a day or some daily exercise. Loves to retrieve and knows the command "drop it." Loves water and hose drinking.  Great with little people and other dogs, however will engage in play with other dogs, even if they don't want to play. (Again...puppy energy). Loves food, like all labs. He does not counter surf, but...will snag ANYTHING left out on his level.  Sleeps all night House broken, uses our dog door. Prefers wet food, but will eat a mix of dry and a scoop of wet. He kind of shreds dry dog food and makes a mess of it's not mixed with wet.  SUPER SWEET. Will let anyone pet him . Will sleep with you, or on the couch, floor etc.  Very gentle with treats. Knows "sit." "Lay down". Perfect car rider. Lays down in the back and stays there. Does NOT whine or bark. (Only seen him bark when playing with our lab.) His favorite thing is tug of war and would be good in a home with another dog his age who likes to play.  Or, probably would be good as an only dog too, if he can get exercise and stimulation. Not sure on cats, but he's pretty chill.   Up to date on everything, neutered, healthy boy. 💙 show less

General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Health Notes |  Other Dogs | Bentley gets along with my three dogs, two Lab mixes and an older Golden and would love another dog in the house to play with.  He does respect their boundaries when they tire of his puppy. playing.  I think he would also be fine as an only dog, but he would like someone to spend time with him on a regular basis.  He loves people. Cats | He is very interested in my cats.  He will chase a running cat, and I correct him when he does, but will just observe if they don't run.  They are all learning to get along. Children | He loves my 6 and 8 year old grandsons. Training |  We are working on training.  So far, he knows "sit" and "down." Leash |  Activity Level |  He loves to play and run around, but will also snooze when he's tired.  He has not shown himself to be chewer or destroyer of things.   Personality | Typical sweet, playful Lab personality.  So far, he has only played with the dog toys.  He has not tried to take shoes or other objects.   He sleeps over 8 hours in his crate at night.  He only fusses briefly before settling down.  He likes to be with me, but will also go off to another part of the house or yard without me.  He seems to be potty trained.  He has had no accidents in the house.  We are outside often in the backyard with the other dogs and he always goes potty when outside.  He would be a great addition to your family if you love Labs.  He is a tail wagging, cuddly sweatheart.   Story |   Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. General Notes | Super smart, fearless with big dogs, pool, steps, just about anything. Eating (mix of Pedigree and Hills puppy food), drinking well. She is a very sweet intense dog. She is wonderful to snuggle and very affectionate but also playful. She will jump off ledges and stairs and is not afraid to tumble. She has been pretty good with house training but we are very vigilant with her taking her out often. Waking up from naps, outside. When she is particualry onry she generally is either hungry or needs to poo. It is pretty obvious when you start to watch. She has been an excellent car dog, laying calmly in the passanger seat. No issues with loud noises, machinery but is not a fan of the heat we have been dealing with. She is not a leave outside dog, she is a companion dog. She likes to carry things and can probably be trained to be a paper dog. So far no wanderlust and will stay close in the yard. Nala is great and will make a great addition to the right family. Health Notes |  Other Dogs | No fear of big dogs! Plays great with my younger golden, drives the older dogs nuts but thankfully they are good natured. Cats |  Children | Great with neighbors 4 year old, but still is a puppy with sharp nails and teeth! Training | Has sit down, laydown and come...Working on more. Leash | Working on it in yard, so far pretty good for a small puppy. We have a large yard so she has been working on leash manners, she does quite well for a puppy and will do just fine as long as you continue to walk her consistently. Activity Level | Active will play and follow, but will also nap. She is an energetic puppy, meaning when she wants to play you need to play with her. She will wrestle with our dogs and chase balls and sticks. She needs supervision or very puppy proof home. At night we put her in doggie jail and she does fine as long as she knows you are there, if you have left she will cry. A simple pat and she goes back to sleep. She does ask to go out 2X per night but has never pee'd or poo'd in her cell.  Personality | Old soul smart girl, a tad sassy, intense looks but can also be very snuggly. She is likely going to be a velcro golden. She wants to be where you are, whether it is mowing the lawn, washing the car, sleeping, or working she is always near. Story | From what I know she and 3 littermates were dropped at a shelter in Lufkin, TX. I picked her up from Abbott medical and have had her since. Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Health Notes |  Other Dogs | Jake is great with other dogs and would love a playful dog sibling in his forever home! He's tried to initiate play with my dog but she's not super into it. He's great about respecting her boundaries though and backs off immediately when she gets grumpy. Cats |  Children | I personally haven't seen him with children, but I think he'd love them. He loves being loved on, he LOVES people, and is a confident and outgoing lil dude. He also takes treats super gently and isn't bitey like most puppies! Training | The only thing he knew when he came to me was "sit". We've been working a lot on impulse control and he's been doing great! He picked up "touch" very quickly. He's very food motivated and is a breeze to train! Leash | He's great on a leash, except when he gets near people. He gets really excited because he wants to say hi! He'll need some training there. Activity Level | Typical lab puppy. Loves playing and is active but can also relax and snooze when he's sleepy. Personality | He LOVES people, of all sorts. He follows me around everywhere, but doesn’t have separation anxiety. He LOVES toys. He loves them even more if there’s a human at the end of them, but give him a pile of toys and he’ll occupy himself for as long as you need him to. He’s great at respecting your stuff and your boundaries. When he brought me a shoe and a foam roller to play with, I gave him a gentle correction, put them back, and gave him a dog toy instead, and he hasn’t touched either since. I hesitate to say he’s housetrained because he’s a 4 month old puppy and he hasn't been with me for long. But he hasn’t even tried to go in the house yet. He has occasionally let me know when he does need to go by standing by the back door. When we go out, I guide him to his potty spot and after a moment of sniffing, he goes immediately. He definitely seems to know what’s expected of him on that front! He goes easily into his crate with a cookie. He whines for a minute or two when he realizes he’s locked in, and then settles down. He sleeps in his crate for 8.5 hours overnight without a peep. Overall, he's just a happy, goofy dude looking for someone(s) to love him. Could that be you? Story |  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. We can’t believe this cutie is still on the market!!  Information from Theo’s current foster: Theo is a 56-lb, 7 month old handsome boy. After almost two weeks with him, here’s what we know:  • He’s got the softest coat EVER and has the prettiest smile!  • He LOVES other dogs. He’s having an absolute blast with our dog and has met a few other doggie friends and has gotten along great with all of them!  • He is very high energy! He’s going to make an adventurous family very happy! Or another pup very tired 🙃 • He loves water. Seriously loves it - drinking it, playing in it, sticking his head in a water bowl. He will hug our hose when he wants to drink from it. It’s hysterical…I wish I could get a picture!  • He sleeps about 8-10 hours in the crate! And he’s learning to relax and nap on a bed during the day, without having to be crated. What an angel!  • Theo’s only flaw, as far as we can tell, is that he still nips occasionally, although we’ve made some major strides the last few days with that. He’s learning to gently take treats which he loves so much, and we’re continuing to work on it!  • As with any puppy, it’s really important that he lands with a family that is dedicated to his training! He’s a smart boy and super food motivated, but just needs some consistency and a lot of love! This sweet boy is ready for his forever home!! Enjoy the photos-too many cute ones to pick just a few!   General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age.   Health Notes |  Other Dogs |  Cats | June met a cat recently and was excited but not aggressive. When she gets excited, you can see she has so much self control to contain herself to not jump because she knows it is not okay. Children | June is great with kids! Training | She had accidents the first two days in her foster home with letting her out often and using puppy pads but hasn't had one since. June knows kennel and once she goes in for her treat, she stays there quietly all night. She does not cry while in the kennel even when her kennel is in the middle of people walking around. Does not chew anything up. She only barks when she hears another dog barking. June knows sit and is working on her name, come and wait (to eat dinner). Leash | June sits to put her leash on / take off leash. She learned this within days - when she first arrived to her foster, she was so scared of the leash and would freeze and lay down while walking with it on. Activity Level | She plays but prefers to not stay outside too long. Who can blame her - the heat in Texas is unreal! Loves fetch and rides great in the car. Personality | She loves people and pleasing. June is very laid back and chill. She is very understanding when people don't like something (jumping). Foster has described her as the perfect dog. Story | June was 1 of 4 pups dumped by a backyard breeder and found themselves at a high kill shelter over the July 4th holiday weekend. General Notes | Rosie is an absolute delight!  She's so incredibly sweet, plays great with other dogs (big and small), minimal chewing (occasionally wants to nibble my finger), and sleeps through the night without any issues.  She's had a couple accidents in the house, but we're working on that.  She has learned "sit," and we're working on other commands as well.  She walks fairly well on leash, though as a puppy, she sort of walks all over the place rather than in a straight line haha! She is food-motivated like a typical lab.  She would make a wonderful dog for someone who wants a sweet, cuddly lovebug.  Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Health Notes |  Other Dogs |  Cats |  Children |  Training |  Leash |  Activity Level |  Personality |  Story |  Thank you! Health Notes | No known health issues Other Dogs | Cher has met dogs of all sizes and temperaments and has gotten along with them all.  Cats | Unknown Children | Cher is a bit timid, but she likes kids who are patient and calm. Got along great with the children in her last foster home. Training | She is working on the basics. Despite knowing few commands, she is so well-mannered (and housebroken) that she's very easy to manage and a perfect houseguest. Leash | Cher walks so well on the leash - she walks on the left and is not a puller. She walks past other people and dogs without incident. Activity Level | Low-Med - Cher is young and has her spurts of energy, but she's content to sleep by your feet all day while you work or to curl up on the couch. Personality | Cher is awesome- we call her travel size at 40lbs.  Though she can be a bit timid at first, she is so sweet and learning how to be a dog. She is tolerant of petting from people of all sizes and enjoys any attention - no spot is off limits for rubs! She is amazing with dogs, cats and kids. She accepts treats so gently, and is uninterested in stealing your human food. Sleeps through the night in her crate, but likes to spend time with her people - she's been my little shadow!  She's very quiet too - she rarely barks.  Cher is not bothered by loud noises (doorbells, slamming doors, fireworks, thunder). She will make the best companion for a family who will take the time to love and nurture her sweet personality.
