Sandy is a super sweet, gentle, happy puppy. He came to MHLRM when picked up with his mom and brother off the streets in TX.    Sandy just can't imagine his luck being fed, carrying his soft blanket around to nap on and feeling the touch of human hands. He comes to sit, with a loving lean and adores whoever will pet him. He loves his crate and will put him sled down for a nap, sleeps through the night, mostly house trained and is learning to sit, stay, come and walk on a leash. He aims to please and is very treate motivated. He has yet to repeat a negative behavior after scolding. Someone will be very lucky to have this thankful soul in their lives. Mile High was contacted when the owner passed away and we were so happy to step up for these 6 pups as they are all so sweet! He can get scared easily and does not like people to chase him or grab his collar. He is getting better about putting on the harness but it will take some time for his to adjust. Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $375 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $325 for 1-6 years, $275 for dogs 7-10 years, and $125 for 11+ years of age. Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet & greets by appointment to approved applicants only.  To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. Please know | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Sebastian is a sweet boy, about 99% potty trained.  Does not chew, starting to understand toys, loves his people and foster pups.  Not aggressive at all playing with our dogs.  Not yet trained on commands but eager to learn and please.  He is a busy guy, but knows when it is time to lay down and rest.  Also a great snuggler.  He would do well in a situation where people are around, or he has doggies brothers or sisters to play with. Health Notes | Really good health, we are trying to cover his bones a little bit as he is a skinny guy. Recently neutered. Other Dogs | We have two labs/lab mixes that are a little older and he is great with them.  Has learned how to play well with them, not rough and is really happy to be around them at all times.  Cats  Not sure Children | I have a young teenager who he plays great with.  He has been around younger kids and does well too.  We have taught him not to use his mouth with people even if playing. Training | Typical young lab that needs some training, but very motivated by treats to learn.  Working on basic commands. Leash | Not sure he had ever walked on a leash before, but has progressed well.  Gets excited when he sees other dogs on walks.  Every time we go to the door, he wants to go for a walk.  Good pace on a walk, and would enjoy hikes I am sure. He gets really excited when he sees other dogs on walks (just wants to play), so will need to work on this with training. Activity Level | For a young lab he has a medium activity level.  At first he did follow-up everywhere in the house, but has mellowed a bit.  Sleeps most of the day in the office while I am working.  Enjoys play time when appropriate. Personality | Such a sweet boy, we love him!  Doesn't lick faces, but sniffs you to show affection.  Loves to cuddle.  It is almost like he walks around with a smile on his face.  He likes to be around people. Story | Rescued from TX.  No additional information. Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $375 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $325 for 1-6 years, $275 for dogs 7-10 years, and $125 for 11+ years of age. General Notes | Johnny is such a happy goofy pup!! You can't look at him and not smile or laugh. He loves a solid game of fetch and loves to run!! If he had an open field to run on all day, he would. He will sit before it is time to eat and takes treats gently from a kid. Johnny will nudge you with whatever toy is in his mouth to signal he wants to keep playing. He is doing great with a 5yo and dog that are also in his current foster home. Johnny loves to be outside and loves attention even more. He does a little dance when you scratch under his arms. For whatever reason, he loves to sit and watch you do the dishes.    Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Health Notes | Johnny is a very active, healthy pup. Other Dogs | He plays with a male dog in his foster home. Johnny is learning to recognize social cues from his dog friend and has spent some time playing with other dogs at daycare.   Cats | Unsure - no cats in the foster home.   Children | Johnny does great around kids. He is very sweet with our 5 year old and loves to play fetch.   Training | He will require some basic training to correct some of his bad manners. He has great potential to be the perfect family member! Johnny does not know how to contain his excitement to see you and it comes across in his jumping. He is easily corrected. He does great in his crate for bedtime and will even go in there on his own after a hard day of playing.   Leash | Will need training as he pulls hard when on a leash. His foster is currently using a prong collar to practice walks.   Activity Level | High energy like your typical younger labs. Johnny would do best in a home with plenty of room to run and with an active family.   Personality | Johnny is a goofball, always smiling, very playful and sweet!! He knows sit and he has the cutest shake! Ask your coordinator to see the video his current foster has.   Story | Johnny was found roaming the streets of Houston. He had no tags or a chip and no one came forward after his photo was shared on multiple websites. The finder could no longer hold Johnny and reached out to Mile High for help.   Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $375 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $325 for 1-6 years, $275 for dogs 7-10 years, and $125 for 11+ years of age.
