General Notes | Naomi is the picture of pleasantness and a true delight to be around. As a former mama dog, she carries a gentle wisdom and a nurturing heart that makes her a calming presence in any home. She has given so much love to her puppies and is now ready to find her own forever family to shower with affection and quiet devotion. Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Naomi is the sweetest, most affectionate, loyal lab! Her entire body wiggles whenever she sees a human, no stranger danger here!   Story | Naomi was pulled from a shelter and within 24hrs delivered 7 adorable puppies on 1/3/2025 Other Dogs | Naomi has been living with several dogs and she gets along with them all seemlessly. She is able to read the resident dogs mood and respect their boundaries. She is a bit more hesitant to meet other dogs when out for a walk and needs proper introductions. She daily goes up to the split rail fence to greet the neighbor poodle with some nose kisses and tail wagging, even if her puppies are out in the yard.  Cats | No experience with cats, but does not seem to have a prey drive Children | She is currently being fostered with two children, ages 6 & 8 and she is so sweet with them! She does not jump up on them and allows them to hug her and pet her and takes treats so gently from them.  Training | Naomi needs to learn the basics but she is very food motivated and aims to please! She is quickly learning that if she sits in the kitchen while you are making food, instead of jumping up on the counter, she will get rewarded. She is fully house trained, zero accidents, and she can hold it for a long time! She is quick learner and learned how to go up and down stairs the very first day in her current foster home. She has never once attempted to jump up on the couch or our bed, despite being invited. She has not been tested in the crate because she is still kept in the same room as her puppies, but she will occassionally go lay in the open crate when everyone is hanging out on the main floor.  Leash | Naomi does good on a leash. She goes for daily walks with the foster dad, who has no problem walking the resident 85lb lab and Naomi at the same time. She likes to sniff all the new smells and figure out this new cold place. Activity Level | Naomi is a pretty mellow gal. She's happy to snooze while you are out of the home and will happily greet you at the door when you get home and lean in for lots of scratches. She loves to have a stuffed toy in her mouth when she gets excited and will often pick up a toy and carry it along on her walk. She hasn't had much outside time due to the cold temps, but I'm sure she would love to fetch a ball or a stuffed toy. She will be a great hiking buddy and I would imagine a great swimmer.  Health Notes | Naomi is heartworm positive, but, treatment is very successful and completely manageable with all the proper education! MHLRM will cover the expense of treatment at one of our approved veterinarians. Heartworm positive dogs go on to live happy, normal lives after treatment and rarely experience long-term side effects. Don't let this stop you from adopting her - she is totally worth taking a chance on, I promise! Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Puppies to 1 year - $475, 1-6 years - $425, 7-10 years - $375, and 11+ years - $255. Purebreds are $525 regardless of age. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $700 per dog). Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet & greets by appointment to approved applicants only.  To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. Please know | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. General Notes | Poptart the puppy is a fun-filled friend ready to sprinkle your life with joy and leave a trail of happy paw prints! Great with dogs, learning ALL the things, and with paws that pitter-patter like a gentle melody, she's mastered the art of the head-tilt, and a champion of turning every new scent into an exciting discovery. Be prepared: One look into those soulful eyes and you might just find your life's soundtrack has a new, adorable lead vocalist. Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Poptart is shy, sweet, and learning day by day. She is a little slower to warm up, but once she does, she is amazing!  Story | These adorable puppies and their gentle mom, Amber, are starting their new chapter after being rescued from a high-kill shelter. Though they faced illness early on, they've bounced back beautifully and are now looking forward to the happy, healthy futures they so deserve. Other Dogs | Poptart is in a house with a big lab foster brother, two little dog foster siblings, and her sister! She loves, loves, LOVES other pups and would adore a doggy sibling to show her the way. She reads cues well and is respectful of the little dogs' space - enticing them in play, but honoring and backing off if they growl. She is wonderful with them! Cats | Poptart has been cat tested and would do well with a kitty in her forever home! As always, we recommend slow intros, but she is sweet and timid, leaving a kitty to be in charge, haha!  Children | Poptart hasn't been around too many children, but would likely be great with kind, respectful kiddos given her young age and sweet demeanor! Training | Poptart is working on potty training, crate training (already sleeping through the night!), leash walking, and basic commands. Sh is a young puppy so it takes time, but she is food motivated and SO excited to learn! Leash | Poptart is hesitant on the leash - it's a scary world out there! But is learning day by day. She prefers to be carried around in a sling, but will walk if asked to. ; )  Activity Level | Moderate. General Notes | Breathtaking Brooke (or Biscuit as her fosters call her!) couldn't be a more perfect puppy! This sweet girl is all snuggles, all adventure, all the time! She is happiest exploring with her people, or cuddled up with her siblings; she takes her cues from her foster sister and is happy to follow along. She is a big chiller always the first to nap and relax in your lap. Brooke is doing well with her training and is going to make her forever family fall in love instantly! Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Brooke is a bit bashful - curious, excited to explore, and adoring of whomever she is around. She really is the most wonderful little gal!  Story | Brooke was rescued with her nine (!!) siblings and mama days after her mom gave birth on the streets in Houston, TX. A concerned citizen noticed their pregnant mama Honey, and immediately put out a plea for rescue. MHLM jumped into action, and a dedicated foster drove over four hours and searched for the family in order to save them. Since her rescue, she has been in a foster home in Houston before recently making her way to Colorado!  Other Dogs | Brooke does great with other dogs and is learning to take their cues as she grows! She has done wonderfully with her mama and nine siblings at her foster's home, and is now exploring life in a new foster with new dogs to dote and love on!  Cats | Brooke has not been cat tested, but due to her age and sweet temperament, her fosters think she would do well in adapting to a house with kitties.  Children | Brooke loves small people! She would do well with kiddos in her household, and would enjoy having the company and ability to play with them! Training | Brooke's training is in progress. She's working on potty training (we’re almost there!!), basic commands, and is also sleeping in a crate at night and throughout the day! Leash | Brooke is too small (and young) for full leash walking currently, but she will learn as time progresses!  Activity Level | Moderate Health Notes |  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations |  Our adoption donations are $475 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $425 for 1-6 years, $375 for dogs 7-10 years, and $250 for 11+ years of age. Boomer is a smart pup who's learning housetraining quickly—he knows outside is potty time and takes care of business right away before getting back to his exploring. He’s got a big heart, a soft coat perfect for snuggles, and a love for food that makes training a breeze! Could Boomer be your perfect match? 💛🐶Boomer is the sweetest fluffy guy ready for his next lifetime adventure in Colorado! Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Boomer is adventurous, curious, and sweet as they come. He is the most relaxed puppy his foster family has met in a while. He knows he wants to be with you and loves to snuggle at your feet or in your arms. Big fan of belly rubs, and like most Labs- Food.  Story | Boomer was rescued with his nine (!!) siblings and mama days after his mom gave birth on the streets in Houston, TX. A concerned citizen noticed their pregnant mama Honey, and immediately put out a plea for rescue. MHLM jumped into action, and a dedicated foster drove over four hours and searched for the family in order to save them. Since his rescue, he has been in a foster home in Houston before recently making his way to Colorado! Honey and her B's ( all the puppies have B names) arrived 3/8 at 6 weeks old.  Other Dogs | Boomer is quiet and will watch other dogs before jumping into to play. He does love to play, but wants to check the vibe first.  Cats | Boomer has not been cat tested, but due to his age and wonderful demeanor, his fosters think he would do well in adapting to a house with kitties, and would be happy to have a kitty sibling.  Children | Boomer is sweet and great with kiddos!  Training | Boomer's training is in progress. He is continuing to learn day by day! Smart boy and loves food, making training simple!  Leash | Boomer is too small for leash walking currently, but will learn with time! When his Chihuahua foster siblings growl or set the tone that they don’t want to be messed with, he rolls over or walks away. He is great at reading the room, and knowing their boundaries. He likes to snuggle, follows his foster siblings around, and encourages them in play by dropping toys at their feet.  Cats | Brody has met the neighbor's cat and was polite but standoffish. His fosters think he would do well with cat siblings, and would be curious but respectful of them.  Children | Brody loves little humans of all ages and sizes, and would LOVE to have kiddos of his own! He would be awesome with kids of all ages as long as they are gentle and kind. He will need continuous training as he grows, as this boy is happiest trailing little friends!  Training | Brody's training is in progress. He's working on potty training (he's 78.1284875% potty trained), is learning basic commands, and is also sleeping in a crate at night and throughout the day! He has already learned sit, and follows his foster sibling’s cues for additional rules around the house.  Leash | Brody is a bit too little to walk on a leash currently, but loves to ride in the sling for family walks around the neighborhood! Leash training will come as he gets bigger.  Activity Level | Moderate - Brody is your basic lab puppy, focused on playing and resting, back to back! General Notes | Searching for a sweet spirit with a zest for adventure? Blanco, a delightful yellow lab mix, is ready to be your loyal companion on every journey, filling your life with joyful wiggles and affectionate nudges. This lovely dog promises to brighten your days with his sunny disposition and love for exploration. Want to adopt this dog? Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Sweet and snuggly! He loves meeting new people and that can sometimes translate into jumping up on them! Despite the fact that he is around three years old, he acts very much like a puppy. This sweet boy is a lover who really wants to be around his humans!  Story | Found as a stray in Houston, TX, and finally making his way to the good life in CO! Other Dogs | Does well with other dogs!  He can be very enthusiastic, playful and possibly a little overwhelming at first to new dog friends.   Cats | Has not been cat tested.  Children | Could do well with kiddos! He is very enthusiastic and may knock over smaller kids. Training | In progress! Coco (as he is called in his foster home) is very treat motivated and is gradually learning the basics. He seems to be completely crate trained.  Leash | Walks well, but is your typical lab - pulling when smelling and sniffing! He always gets excited when he sees other dogs out and about and he can be overwhelming with his greetings. Activity Level | Moderate Health Notes | Bianco is heartworm positive, but treatment is very successful and completely manageable with all the proper education and care. MHLRM will cover the expense of treatment at one of our approved veterinarians. Heartworm positive dogs go on to live happy, normal lives after treatment and rarely experience long-term side effects. Don't let this stop you from adopting this sweet guy! Thank you! |  Adoption Donations |  Our adoption donations are $475 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $425 for 1-6 years, $375 for dogs 7-10 years, and $250 for 11+ years of age. General Notes | Bo is a lovable, fun-sized black Lab with a heart of gold. He’s a gentle, goofy guy ready to bring big love and tail wags to his forever home. Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Bo is a sweet, snuggly lovebug who adores everyone—especially the girls in the house (he's quite the ladies’ man)! He’s great with little kiddos, lives for cuddle time, and is happiest when his people are nearby. His foster family especially loves his charming duck-footed stance—it just adds to his goofy, lovable vibe. Bo would be the perfect buddy for a family that’s home a lot and ready for nonstop companionship. Story | Bo was surrendered to the shelter with his brother in Texas! His previous owner was tragically diagnosed with cancer and forced to surrender his sweet boys. Bo has done well in adapting and settling into his foster home.  Other Dogs | Bo is dog friendly. He loves to play! He's content being near his brother, but is also perfectly happy spending time apart. Bo and Buster can be adopted separately, but would prefer to stay together.  Cats | Bo has not been cat tested. The rescue cannot speak to how he would do in a house with kitties.  Children | Bo does well with kiddos! He would make an amazing family dog as long as children are respectful and kind! And throw him crumbs occasionally. ;) Bo was being fostered with a tiny kiddo in Houston and was so gentle with him. He didn't try to take food from him and gently took it from the kiddos hands when offered.  Training | Bo is house trained and knows "no" and "sit." He sleeps through the night near his foster parents room and doesn't expect his foster to parents to wake up early. He doesn't jump on people, even though he definitely has the muscles for it! Bo will wait patiently to eat (unlike many labs, he doesn't appear to be highly motivated by food). He does have some separation anxiety and prefers his humans be close by. He doesn't like when doors are closed to separate him from his humans and will bark when left behind. He only barks when he's scared of being abandoned again and doesn't bark at other dogs or neighbors. He also has not been destructive at all! Bo does OK in the car as long as he gets to ride "shotgun." If the front seat is not available, he will eventually settle into the back.  Leash | Your basic lab on a leash - lots of wiggles, lots of excitement! He does like to pull, but hasn't show any reactivity to other dogs or people on the leash. He is very gentle letting you put his harness on to go on walks! Activity Level | Low-moderate. He is flexible with how much exercise he gets - happy to lay on the couch with you or go on a walk. He also enjoys a game of fetch and going for a swim. Despite his age, he is strong enough to jump over couches and gallop after tennis balls! He's still very gentle though and has been a wonderful family dog with his foster's small children.  Health | Bo had a tumor on his toe that was recently surgically removed. He was wonderful letting his foster parents clean his toe, and the vets say he's clear for adoption! :) Thank you! |  Adoption Donations |  Our adoption donations are $475 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $425 for 1-6 years, $375 for dogs 7-10 years, and $250 for 11+ years of age. He deserves all the love as he adjusts to life outside the shelter, and learns about how amazing the world can be! He is sweet and curious.  Story | Wally his six siblings and mama were found outside of Conroe, Texas in a relatively ferral state - with mama being nearly untouchable, and the babies being new to the earth! They spent the first six weeks of their life in a crowded shelter before Mile High Lab Mission pulled the family, and now all are learning and adjusting to living and being in a home! It's been a scary and long road for this crew, but they are learning fast, being adaptable, and getting all the love! Other Dogs | Wally does well with other dogs. He is still a puppy and is learning boundaries and to follow cues, but he plays well with his siblings, and would be happy to have another dog pal in his future home!  Cats | Wally hasn't met a kitty yet, but due to his young age and sweet demeanor, the rescue thinks he could do well with cats with a proper introduction. Children | Wally is learning about love from children! He would be happy to have kiddos to play with and dote on, as long as they are respectful and kind.  Training | Wally's training is in progress! He is still a puppy, so he is working on potty training, crate training, and basic commands. She has mastered potty training, walks great on a leash and is up to date on all her vaccinations.  Story | Annie and her siblings were abandoned in Texas and a kind woman took them in until they could get their second chance at life in Colorado! Her mama is a gorgeous purebred black lab who is a service dog for an older, disabled woman. Other Dogs | Great with other dogs! These babies have spent the last 5 months meeting dogs of all sizes and breeds.  Cats | Due to her gentle and sweet demeanor, Annie would probably be very respectful of cats.  Children | Annie is sweet and gentle with children. She love to have some human siblings to run around in the backyard with and splash in a kiddie pool!  Leash | Walks like a champ on a leash!  Training | Annie's foster mom says this "Annie does so good in the house. She will just rest at your feet, and start sniffing around at the door when she's ready to go outside." She is very smart and eager to learn!  Activity Level | Moderate/high like most lab puppies! Health Notes |  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations |  Our adoption donations are $475 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $425 for 1-6 years, $375 for dogs 7-10 years, and $250 for 11+ years of age. General Notes | Gogurt is guaranteed to provide more lick-your-face joy than the dairy aisle ever could! This little one is a master of puppy-dog eyes, is the BEST with all her foster siblings, and a connoisseur of cuddles. Gogurt's favorite pastimes include practicing potty training (yay outside!), making new human and canine friends, and transforming ordinary moments into extraordinary adventures. Warning: Her irresistible charm may lead to spontaneous adoption! Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Gogurt is sweet as they come! She's timid at first, but then a bundle of fun and adoration. She couldn't be more cute or wonderful.  Story | These adorable puppies and their gentle mom, Amber, are starting their new chapter after being rescued from a high-kill shelter. Though they faced illness early on, they've bounced back beautifully and are now looking forward to the happy, healthy futures they so deserve. Other Dogs | Gogurt is in a house with a big lab foster brother, two little dog foster siblings, and her sister! She loves, loves, LOVES other pups and would adore a doggy sibling to show her the way. She reads cues well and is respectful of the little dogs' space - enticing them in play, but honoring and backing off if they growl. She is wonderful with them! Cats | Gogurt has been cat tested and would do well with a kitty in her forever home! As always, we recommend slow intros, but she is sweet, mindful, and patient.  Children | Gogurt hasn't been around too many children, but would likely be great with kind, respectful kiddos given her young age and sweet demeanor! Training | Gogurt is working on potty training, crate training (already sleeping through the night!), leash walking, and basic commands. Sh is a young puppy so it takes time, but she is food motivated and SO excited to learn! Leash | Gogurt is learning about the leash, but would still prefer to be carried everywhere ; )  Activity Level | Moderate. Gogurt is a classic puppy who likes to play, nap, repeat. Health Notes |  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations |  Our adoption donations are $475 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $425 for 1-6 years, $375 for dogs 7-10 years, and $250 for 11+ years of age. General Notes | Buster is a big black Lab with the heart of a teddy bear and the energy level of one after a big meal. This gentle giant prefers leisurely strolls to marathons and excels at the art of the contented sigh. He's looking for a home that appreciates a large dose of low-key love. He is happiest relaxing in the backyard with his human and canine foster family, watching over his foster siblings, or grabbing a snack! After being surrendered to the local animal shelter, this boy deserves a true forever. Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.     Story | Buster is a total lover who adores everyone he meets! His foster parents lovingly refer to him as a "land manatee." He's the perfect WFH coworker who likes to be right by your side! He is also AMAZING with small kiddos and would make an excellent family dog.  Story | Buster was surrendered to the shelter with his brother in Texas! His previous owner was tragically diagnosed with cancer and forced to surrender his sweet boys. Buster has done well in adapting and settling into his foster.  Other Dogs | Buster is dog friendly. He loves to play! He's content being near his brother, but is also perfectly happy spending time apart. Bo and Buster can be adopted separately, though would prefer to stay together. Buster is happy as long as he can be near his humans! Cats | Buster has not been cat tested. The rescue cannot speak to how he would do in a house with kitties.  Children | Buster does well with kiddos! He would make an amazing family dog as long as children are respectful and kind! And throw him crumbs occasionally ; ) Buster was being fostered with a tiny kiddo in Houston and was so gentle with him. He didn't try to take food from him and gently took it from the kiddo's hands when offered.  Training | Buster is potty trained and is doing great in his foster home (no accidents!). He is very spry for his age and is able to jump in and out of a jeep with no problem at all! He doesn't particularly enjoy car rides though and would prefer to walk everywhere instead of drive if possible! He gets nervous when left alone and would prefer someone who is home more often than not. He has not been destructive at all, even when left alone, but will bark until you come back!  Leash | Your basic lab on a leash - lots of wiggles, lots of excitement! After a few minutes, Buster will settle into a stride. Activity Level | Buster has a low-to-moderate energy level and is super adaptable—just as happy lounging around the house with his humans as he is going for a walk. He loves to "make it snow" by destroying his plushies! We don't know how, but he knows the difference between his plushies and those belonging to the kids (he's one smart boy). Don’t let his age fool you—he can still leap over couches and gallop after tennis balls with the best of them. Despite his playful side, he’s incredibly gentle and has been a wonderful companion to his foster family's small children. Health | This sweet boy had a bit too much dessert in the past and got a little chunky, but his foster family has helped him slim down to a healthy weight—he’s looking and feeling great now! Thank you! |  Adoption Donations |  Our adoption donations are $475 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $425 for 1-6 years, $375 for dogs 7-10 years, and $250 for 11+ years of age.
