General Notes | Bolt is a blue-eyed gem! He is cuddly, sweet, and wiggles his whole body when meeting new friends! Bolt sleeps through the night in his crate, spends most of the day napping in a bed by his foster dad's feet, and loves playing with his foster siblings (both small and large dogs). He is great with both cats and dogs, is respectful of their boundaries, and is truly as cute and chunky as they come.  Bolt leaves the Christmas Tree alone, knows that toys are the only thing for chewing, and adores being near his people. He will make a phenomenal adventure partner, and with the size of his paws, is going to be a BIG dog!  Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us. Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Bolt is mellow for a pup, and quite relaxed. General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Tammy is a sweet, loving, low-key lady with a ton of fun personality. She is a rescued puppy-mill breeder mama and has quickly adapted to enjoying the good life after being rescued! After a tough first seven years of life, Tammy now loves naps, spending time with her people and foster siblings (dogs), and laying in the backyard enjoying the fresh air and breeze. Although she is mature, she is still full of fun personality and enjoys her occassional toy or light mischief! She is looking for a loving home where she can relax and get some good naps in! Story | Tammy was a breeder mama in her first seven years of life and went to her foster on 10/5. When she was first rescued, you could tell she was exhausted and scared from years of mistreatment. However, Tammy is nothing if not extremely resilient! This lovely lady has happily left that life behind her and hasn't looked back! Other Dogs | Tammy is great with other dogs and loves to spend time with her foster siblings!  Cats | Unknown Children | Unknown, but expected that she would do great with older children. Training | Tammy is house trained and has never had an accident. She is food motivated and generally quite well behaved. Leash | Tammy is great on walks. She is still getting used to the idea of walks (it doesn't seem like she had been on one before being rescued), but doesn't pull and is getting more and more comfortable everyday. Activity Level | Tammy is a lazy lady who loves to snooze and relax. She will leave the 14ers to the younger pups! Health Notes | Tammy is currently overweight (but working on it!) and has a small limp. She does not seem to be in any discomfort. Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. Story | Norm was a stray in Houston, TX. He was saved by MHLRM from euthanisia due to lack of space. He's a great pup and deserves a second chance! Other Dogs | Norm was with a small dog in his Texas foster home. Children | Wonderful with kids Training | He is quickly learning how to be a good boy! Norm keeps his kennel clean and knows to do his business outside  Norm goes into his crate with a little resistence, but once inside he is quiet when left alone and when it’s time for bed. He likes his crate to be covered with a blanket. Leash | Norm gets really excited when going outside for walks so please hold on tight to his leash. He loves to sniff around and does his business outside. He was a little shy with other people at first but quickly warmed up. He has no issue going up and down stairs. Activity Level | Medium-high. Norm is a young lab that likes to run and play. He will need daily exercise to get his energy out. General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Roxie is an extremely affectionate and loyal dog.  She wants nothing more than to be near her people.  She can be content laying at your feet, or playing with toys by herself, as long as she knows you are near.  She is starting to venture outside the dog door on her own and sun bathing by herself.   Story |  Roxie was found as a stray in Fort Worth Texas and saved by Mile High the day before she was to be euthanised.   Other Dogs | Roxie is good with other dogs and genuinely wants to play.  Roxie did get a little jealous at first when other dogs were receiving attention from her "people".  But this has gone away after a week of being in her foster home.  Roxie would do really well in a single dog home because she is very content playing with toys by herself or following her people around.  She is definitely a "people dog". Cats | Roxie is not good with cats.  She will chase her foster cat sister and has pinned her down.  Roxie also will jump into a litter box with all 4 feet and have a terribly gross feast.  No cats for this little lady. Children | Foster does not have young children at home.  However, during a visit with friends Roxie seemed very uncomfortable and nervous around young children.  Foster is working on taking her to public places to get her comfortable with new people and children.  Training | Roxie knew "sit" on intake.  As she has been in foster care, she has quickly picked up down, off, come, and her name.  She has also learned the double flap dog door and uses it regularly during the day. Although Roxie does exhibit quick learning of basic commands, she does tend to lose focus when around other dogs.  She would benefit from more consistent training to keep her focused. Roxie is potty trained and has NOT had a single accident in her foster's home.   Roxie experienced extreme anxiety when placed in a crate/kennel when she first came home from the shelter.  Foster has been working with her to get her more comfortable with the crate and she is making progress.  Roxie needs to be crated if her people leave the house! She is not ready to be left free roam while people are away.   Roxie currently sleeps on a fluffy blanket on the floor, but would prefer to sleep in bed with her new people.  If she wakes up early, she will quietly chew on a bone or toy and wait for her people to get up.  Leash | Roxie is great on a leash, rarely pulls.  She enjoys walking next to her people. Activity Level | Roxie is an extremely easy lab in terms of activity level.  For only being a year, she is surprisingly calm and self entertaining.  She will play with toys by herself throughout the day and lay at her foster's feet while she is working.  (She really loves toys, especially bones/chews, so having lots around for her to play with will keep her happy and content). She does jump up on people on occasion when wanting affection, but that is getting better as she learns she is loved and people will give her attention without her jumping.  Roxie seems to really enjoy her daily walks. Health Notes | Super healthy, no issues. Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Puppies to 1 year - $425, 1-6 years - $375, 7-10 years - $325, and 11+ years - $175. Purebreds are $475 regardless of age. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $600 per dog). Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet & greets by appointment to approved applicants only.  To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. Please know | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page! We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved.  Your application is good for 90 days from the time of approval for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle.  show less

General Notes | Hi I'm Mazy and I'm super happy to be in Colorado! I can't wait to meet my forever family, but for now I'm pretty content with my foster family. Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | I'm a pretty happy-go-lucky puppy. Eager to please and learn. I am still learning manners, but I walk well on my leash and love to play!!!  Story | I was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Houston, Texas.  Other Dogs | I got to hang with a foster dog when I first came to Colorado and did well. I love to say hello to others on walks. I am a very good listener and all I want to do is play.  Cats |  Children | Bring on the small humans! They are so much fun and have energy just like me and they are the best to snuggle with. I'm learning not to jump on them, as I forget I'm getting big!  Training | I know some of the basics, but if you have treats I will most definitely do what you ask. I haven't had any accidents in the house, but my foster family has been good at taking me outside frequently to make sure I am set up for success. I slept all night in my crate last night without a peep!  Leash | I am very good on a leash! I love to go for walks and meet new friends   Activity Level | I can go, go, go until I crash! I'd love a family to take me on long walks, hikes, and just love to be outside. I even tried to join my foster kids on their trampoline!  Health Notes |  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Edna (now known as Belle) is a gentle giant! She's the sweetest dog who will follow you around the house and nap nearby. Belle is coming out of her shell day by day, and it's been so fun to watch her gain confidence and get more comfortable in her surroundings. She is happy to lounge inside (most of her day is spending napping) or explore outside on a walk or sunbathing in the yard. Her tail is wagging 24/7!  Belle sleeps through the night on the floor near the bed. While she doesn't seem interested in cuddling, she wants to be near her humans, and will happily accept pets and belly rubs. When left home alone, she has not gotten into any trouble - does not chew shoes, counter surf, or get into the trash. Belle would be a great fit for anyone looking for a low-energy, low-maintenance, older dog. Shown love and affection, she will give it back to you ten-fold with tail wags and licks. She's truly a perfect, easy-going dog, and will make any home a happy home.  Belle would do best in a home where someone is home a good part of the day and also a home with another dog.  She loves other dogs and I believe they comfort her. Story | Belle was a breeder mom for 7 years and is now learning to live indoors as a spoiled house dog! She's still figuring things out, like her own reflection and stuffed toys, and the only time we've heard her growl or bark has been at herself in a mirror. Other Dogs | Belle would do best with other adult dogs. Cats |  Children | Unsure, but given her temperament and low energy level, Belle should adjust fine to a household with older children. Training | Belle is house trained. While she does not know any tricks, she knows "come" and "no". She's a quick learner and a typical smart, food-driven lab. Leash | Walks like a dream on leash! Will stay by your side and doesn't mind wearing a collar or harness. Belle will also stay by your side when off-leash. Activity Level | Low. Health Notes | Edna/Belle is heartworm positive. MHLRM will cover the expense of treatment with one of our approved veterinarians. Heartworm positive dogs go on to live happy, normal lives after treatment and rarely experience long-term side effects. Don't let this stop you from adopting Edna! We have not seen this impact her health or temperament in any way. Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $475. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $700 per dog). General Notes |  He loves to cuddle with not just his humans but also other dogs. He sleeps through the night on a dog bed next to his foster parents bed. He is really coming out of his shell and showing a playful side. He mostly likes to sleep though.   Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | sweet and gentle  loving towards kids and other dogs.  Story | Dino is a true rescue story. He was saved by Mile HIgh from a kill shelter in Texas. When he came to his foster family, he was very underweight, he had scratches all over his face, bad dandruff and was very scared. After just a week, this sweet boy is off his medication, happily eating a diet that will help him put weight on. His coat is looking shinier and he is a happy guy! We are so happy we were able to give Dino a second chance a great life.  Other Dogs | great  loves to be close to them   Cats | not sure as his foster doesn't currently have any  Children | very gentle with kids   Training | He needs some basic training as he doesn't know sit/stay. There is a little jumping at first when you get home but then he settles down. He doesn't love the crate and will bark in it.  Leash | hesitant on a leash right now but working towards being confident  Activity Level | low-medium  Health Notes | Dino has some scaring on his face but it just adds to his great personality  Thank you! Personality | Are you looking for an energetic Lab that loves people, dogs, tennis balls and treats?! Fudge Brownie is the dog for you! This chunky girl is the definition of a Labrador. She will chase a ball until your arm falls off, and afterwards she'll come inside and snuggle up with you on the couch. Eating a snack? Fudge Brownie says, she'll have some of that! This sweet pup is ready for a family that will let her join all the fun -- hikes, brewery patios, car rides, you name it and she's there. She also loves to cuddle and will crawl onto your lap for a nap! Story | Fudge Brownie was brought into a shelter after jumping into her finder's car wearing a leash and harness. She was clearly loved by someone, but sadly no one came to claim her. She was marked at risk at the shelter due to limited space.  Other Dogs | Great! Fudge Brownie is very playful with other dogs.  Cats | she was curious and friendly towards the kitty she is fostered with. So far there has been no chasing, but her foster mom is keeping a close eye on them together.  Children | Fudge Brownie is a total lover of all people including children. She'll make a great family dog. Training | She knows the basics. Seems eager to learn! Appears to be house trained as she relieves herself immediately when let outside. She gets super excited so we are working on her staying calm for pets and when getting ready to go on a walk. She loves to jump on the humans lap and lick their faces! We are working on teaching her "off" when we've had enough of her cuddles! She went right in the crate for a treat and seems like she may already be crate trained. Slept all night in the crate! She will hop right on the bed though and would probably prefer to be snuggled up with the humans all night!  Leash | Fudge Brownie is a big girl (she could lose a few lbs!) with places to be and people to see. She tugs on the leash when excited. This is an easily trainable behavior and we're confident she will do better with more exposure. She hasn't had any reactivity whatsoever when she sees other dogs on walks. She's also being fostered in an apartment and getting plenty of leash walking practice.  Activity Level | High. Fudge Brownie is ready for ALL the activities! Neighborhood jogs, mountain hikes, fetch in the backyard, adventures around town. Fudge Brownie says, let's go girls! She's also happy to lounge around with you all day. Her favorite place to lounge is on the humans laps! She is a very excitable pup which usually comes in the form of trying her hardest to give the humans kisses and jumping on their laps!  Health Notes | No health concerns. She is up to date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative and was spayed on 11/30. Her nose had been very dry so her foster mom has been using a dog nose lotion to see if it helps. She could use a good bath as soon as she's allowed to get wet again (14 days post spay surgery). Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. She is gentle when taking treats- especially from her toddler foster bro! She loves to be outside and enjoy the mountain air. She would make a wonderful hiking companion. Story | Zena was saved from the Euthanization list in Roswell, NM. Other Dogs | She is good with dogs and just wants to be everyone's friend.  She knows how to play with an older dog and understands the social cues of when he's tired and has had enough. But She would enjoy a companion who is willing to play a lot.  Cats | unknown Children | She does well with her human foster sibling and isn't startled when he gets loud. She stays perfectly calm when he has the human zoomies, and doesn't feel the need to partake. She loves to watch him play and gives him the space he wants. She does love his toys if he leaves them out,  but who can blame her, they're so much more fun!! Training | Her foster family is working on the basics with her and she is so eager to learn more. She knows how to sit but is working "lay down".  She is potty trained and has learned that if she goes to the door she will be let out. She is kennel trained and sleeps through the night but would prefer to sleep next to her humans.  Leash | Adeventures await! Zena loves walks and gets very excited when she see's her leash. Your application is good for 90 days from the time of approval for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle.  show less
