We can't wait to see the wonderful life Velma will live.  Other Dogs | Loves playing with the resident dog and is learning to dog from him. Cats | Unsure. General Notes | Hudson LOVES dogs.  So much so, he needs a home with another dog. Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Health Notes | Healthy pup Other Dogs | Hudson LOVES dogs.  So much so, he needs a home with another dog.  He takes all his cues from his foster family's dogs, and gets all his confidence, energy, and joy from interacting with dogs. Cats | He has not been exposed to cats, but has a touch of a prey drive (gets very excited about bunnies, especially). He is very shy, so a commanding cat may be fine. Children | Hudson is very timid, but children who know how to approach dogs have done great with him.  Training | Hudson has been spending his time decompressing rather than training, but is happy to please and easy to redirect. Leash | Hudson LOVES walks and hikes. He is young and needs some training but for his age/experience is a good walker. Activity Level | Hudson has been taking two walks a day and paired with some play time, he is happy to snooze and hang out the rest of the day. Personality | Hudson is very shy around people, but very sweet.  He is not food motivated, and gets his joy from playing with dogs and toys. He loves walks, and being with a family. He definitely has some abandonment issues, and is not a fan of crate time. He is not destructive, is mostly potty trained, and is learning to trust people and be a dog after what seems to be a rough start to life. He is a very good boy! Story | Found as a stray out in Lufkin, TX, and brought to the shelter.   Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. General Notes | Poseidon is a fun-loving, energetic 1.5 year old pup! Loves to cuddle and get sritches under his chin. He'll lay near you or on you.  Happy to be on the couch with you or lay at your feet.   Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Health Notes | He is a healthy young fella who is getting neutered August 17.  Neuter recovery is going well and hasn't really slowed him down.   Other Dogs | He likes other dogs a lot!  As his foster mom, I can tell you he LOVES other dogs.  We have two of our own and they do well together. We also have dogs sharing fence lines and he isn't bothered at all. Cats | Temp foster has a cat, he got excited, not mean just excited. Current foster does not have a cat, so it's hard to judge.  In watching him, he is excited about everything - but does calm with time. Anticipate he would do well with a cat.  Children | He is learning manners (like no jumping) so probably older kids will be better initially. He takes nicely to all people, doesn't show fear or aggression. He does gereat with positive reinforcement.   Training | He is crate trained and potty trained. He is learning how to sit and he takes treats very nicely!  Does great with positive reinforcement.  Learning to sit before food, stop at cross walks, working on staying out from underfoot. Goes to his kennel like a champ and doesn't utter a peep unless he needs to go outside.  Leash | He is learning how to be a good boy while walking on a leash!  He probably has never seen a leash, but the foster said they will keep practicing. He is doing great with walking on a leash and enjoys walks. Dusk can be a little tough, he is fearful of cars.  We are taking it slowly and offering positive reinforcement for just sitting quietly when a car passes.  He has gotten much better on walks.   Activity Level | He is a young buck who has a lot of energy! He will thrive best in a home with an active family and a yard.  He loves to explore and run.  He has done great outside during the day.  Non destructive. Barks occassionally and appropriately.  Personality | He is very affectionate and loves to get all the pets!  He wants to please and is willing to learn.  Just a true gem, through and through.  Such a sweet soul.  Story | Nothing is known of his backstory.  He shows no fear or aggression, loves all people, no gender preference.  Loves car rides as long as windows are up. Good walk buddy, working on manners on a leash, but he is doing great. Not a stinker, curious and wants to please and love.   Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. He would also be a fantastic only dog. He loves his human companions. Cats | not tested Children | loves loves, loves kids. However, as a young 14 week old puppy, kids under the age of six might not be good as he is still in the puppy, biting phase Training | ready no sit and come. He is great in his kennel overnight as long as the kennel is in a room with a person. He does well in a kennel while you were gone as long as you covered with a sheet. Leash | like any puppy, needs a little work. However, he loves to go for walks. Activity Level | Reggie is moderate energy. He just loves activity. But that activity could be sitting at a window, watching the world go by. He is just now learning to fetch, and he loves to go after his many tennis balls, and bring them back. Personality | Reggie is anybody's best friend. Honestly, LOL -  he can be a little fiesty demon, and I mean that in the most loving way. He will make you laugh over all day long. He will explore everything your house, and also follow you to every corner of the house. General Notes | Hi, I'm Henry! I am a happy go lucky boy who is always happy, LOVES people and loves dogs. I will play for hours or nap while you work, whatever you want to do! If you are looking for a companion to go running, walking or hiking with, I am your boy!  Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | I am SO happy! My tail is always wagging and I usually have a smile on my face. I will give you gentle licks if you want and I will gladly sit on the couch to keep you comfy. If you're not into animals on the furniture, I'm happy to go lay on a fluffy bed just for me.  Story | In my one year of life, I've already had quite the adventure. I some how ended up roaming the streets of Midway, Arkansas. I was picked up in June and waited in a local shelter until Mile High rescued me! I took a long van ride here to this beautiful place called Colorado and am happy to be able to run free in the yard and have people give me love and attention.  Other Dogs | I'm living in a home with another dog. I love to get her to play with me and we have quite the good time chasing and wrestling with each other. The dog I currently live with likes to be the boss and I let her. I follow her lead and will bring toys over to her to play and stay back when she is trying to rest. I'd be good in a home with or without another dog, but I would love to go run at the dog park!  Cats | I don't think I've ever been exposed to a cat but I think I might be quite curious.  Children | I'm living with two small humans, one is 4 and one is 6. They have a lot of energy just like me and they like to run around and throw toys for me. I'm starting to realize they don't like when I jump on them, so I stay down and just sniff them. I don't even try and get their food if they're having a snack in a couch, I just wait for them to drop something!  Training | What's training? I'm a clean slate with an eager desire to please and the drive to learn! I am however crate trained - bonus! I sleep all night in my crate and when the humans have to leave during the day I don't mind taking a nap; I never bark in my crate! I listen when you tell me NO or to drop it and go potty outside when you tell me to; I am a great listener, and just need your guidance with new rules. Leash | I went for a good long walk with the other dog in the house this morning, boy was that exciting! So many new sounds and smells, I loved every minute of it and wasn't scared of anything. I'm learning how to walk with a harness, I didn't really like the slip lead. At this point I have done better off a leash than on one and will head right back over to you when outside. I need some training with a leash, but what dog doesn't! Activity Level | I am still a young dog, so I still have a lot of energy. My perfect day would be a good walk or run in the morning, then I'll calm down for a few hours and sleep in my crate if you need me to, out for lunch to chase a toy or ball or another walk and then I can take an afternoon nap and then I'll just follow you around in the evening so you don't feel lonely.  Health Notes | I appear to be in great health and am up to date on all my vaccines!  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age.
