General Notes | Olive is new to Colorado, and new to the world! She is sweet, outgoing, and loves everyone and everything. Olive is very go with the flow - adapting to new environments with ease, comfort, and an adorable full body tail wag!  Olive is still a young puppy, and sleeps well in her crate during nap time, and for 3-4 hour stints at night, but still needs to go potty in the early morning hours at times. This is typical of her age, and should decrease as she gets older, but in the meantime she lets her foster parents know when she needs to go out.  Olive loves her foster siblings (both big and small) and does great reading their cues and following her lab foster brother around the house.  She's a bit of a pocket pal, and likes to be where her people are, preferring to sleep in their arms, on their heads, or in their laps. If foster dad leaves the room, she's following him. If foster mom is curled up on the couch outside, so is Olive! Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Olive is sweet, outgoing, and mellow. She loves people of all ages, and is happy to hang with the big dogs, and the small ones!  Story | Olive was found in Arkansas with her mom and seven siblings. They made the trek to Colorado just a few weeks ago and are adapting to life at higher altitude!  Other Dogs | Olive loves other dogs of all ages and sizes, and read their cues well. She is sweet, frequently following her foster siblings around the house, inviting them to play with her.  Cats | Olive has met one kitty and was curious. Her fosters assume she would do well since she is so young.  Children | Olive LOVED the kids in her first foster home and would love a kiddo (or a few) of her own!  Training | In progress... Olive is still a baby!  Leash | In progress... Olive is still a baby!  Activity Level | Moderate Health Notes |  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations |  Our adoption donations are $475 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $425 for 1-6 years, $375 for dogs 7-10 years, and $250 for 11+ years of age. General Notes | Pip is cute as they come and excited for a brand new life of adventure in Colorado! She is curious, sweet, and ready for her next chapter of life with her forever family.  Pip is still young, and learning about the world. She follows her foster siblings and foster parents around, often requesting they play, snuggle, or hold her. She loves cuddles, time outside, and TOYS!  Pip is adaptable, and happily settles wherever the family is; whether that's in the office with her foster dad, outside playing with her siblings, or on a car ride.  She particularly loves playing with water, and enticing others to play with a ball or stuffie.  Pip sleeps in her crate for a few hour stints at a time, and is always cozy inside. She is still getting up once or twice a night to potty (which is to be expected at this age) and will continue to do so until her bladder is a bit bigger. ; ) Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Pip is sweet, playful, and adoring. She doesn't nibble like others her age, and really likes exploring.  Story | Pip was found in Arkansas with her mom and seven siblings. She made her way to Colorado a few weeks ago, and is settling into life in the mountains! Other Dogs | Pip LOVES her foster siblings and is always asking to play. She is respectful of the family's small dogs (reading their cues and flopping on her belly) and loves to play with the family lab. She'd do well in a home with other pups, or independently.  Cats | Pip has met a cat and was curious. Based on her age her fosters think she would adapt well in a home with cats.  Children | Pip LOVES kiddos and would thrive in a home with littles or bigs! She enjoys being paraded around, held, carried, and doted on.  Training | In Progress... Pip is still just a baby!  Leash | In Progress... Pip is still just a baby!  Activity Level | Moderate Health Notes |  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations |  Our adoption donations are $475 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $425 for 1-6 years, $375 for dogs 7-10 years, and $250 for 11+ years of age. ISO someone to help turn ears right-side in! Hazel May loves to run and jump. Her ears are constantly finding themselves inside out! Can you help her? Personality | Hazel May is a perfect lab puppy who loves to play. She is sweet, shy, and surprisingly chill for a puppy her age. She loves to give kisses and gentle nibbles. She's also very gentle when taking treats. After recently surviving life in a puppy mill, she is enjoying the good life of toys, treats, a bed, and a backyard for playtime. Hazel May would do great in a home with another dog to help show her the ropes.  Hazel May is a curious puppy who enjoys exploring new things, but not once has she tried to chew a pair of shoes 😃 Story | Surrendered to MHLRM by a puppy mill. Hazel May is just beginning to learn what it means to love people and will make a lucky family a wonderful companion! Hazel May is a fast learner and in less than a week has already started to walk on a leash and potty on cue when she goes outside.   Hazel goes into her crate quietly and sleeps for 8-9 hours at night without a peep! Other Dogs | Loves playing and cuddling with her foster brother pups Cats | unknown Children | there are no children in her foster home but she's a gentle girl who will likely do great with kids! Training | Making great progress at potty and crate training! Leash | Learning to walk on leash! Activity Level | playful but takes plenty of naps! Health Notes | Hazel May is fully vaccinated, spayed and heartworm NEGATIVE! General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Mamba is the sweetest girl and the best mama dog! She has come so far in just one week of living with us. She is starting to understand that she is safe and loved. She now greets us when we get home, with her head up and her tail wagging. She is pretty mellow and loves to spend the day lounging outside in the sandbox or on the patio in the shade. Her fun, playful personality has started to come out, especially when she plays with her eight puppies! She has attempted to initiate play with the resident dog, but the resident dog is kind of grouchy.  Story | Mamba and her newborn puppies were dumped in the woods in rural Texas and thankfully taken in by a wonderful foster in Texas until she and her pups could be transported to Colorado.  Other Dogs | Mamba has always been in foster care with other dogs. Her first foster home had four other dogs, one that she showed a lot of interest in. Her current foster home has a 4yr old chocolate lab that she friendly sniffs and wags her tail to greet. If the resident dog runs to the fence to chase a squirrel, Mamba is right behind her to check it out! Mamba has shown zero toy or food aggression with her.  Cats | Unknown, but with her submissive attitude, I'm sure the cat would make the rules.  Children | Mamba is being fostered with humans ages 5 and 7. She allows the kids to come into the whelping pen and pick up her puppies and pet them. She gently will take treats from the kids and allow pets. She is now comfortable with the kids coming up to pet her when she's laying on the floor, but if they move to quickly she still gets startled.  Training | Blank slate. Mamba has been busy raising her puppies. Now it's time to focus on her! Right now we are unsure what commands Mamba knows, but she responds to being called in the yard and is very food motivated! She rides easily in the car. She does not bark in a crate and she is fully housetrained. She is currently left in the office with her babies and a baby gate at the door when her foster parents are out and she doesn't bark or try to jump the gate, she happily naps on her bed or in the pen with her puppies.  Leash | Mamba walks so nicely on a leash, either a step behind you or right next to you. She doesn't pull and she doesn't try to chase rabbits or squirrels.  Activity Level | Medium. We imagine Mamba will develop into an active, fun loving young lab once she gains confidence and learns how to be a normal dog. Health Notes | Mamba is low heartworm positive, which is easily treatable and Mile High covers the cost entirely! Once cured, Mamba will continue to live a happy healthy life!  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations |  Our adoption donations are $475 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $425 for 1-6 years, $375 for dogs 7-10 years, and $250 for 11+ years of age. General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Lady is sweet and lower energy. She has picked her foster dad as her person. She likes being around humans and has definately picked him as her favorite. She quietly chooses to be around him as much as possible. Story | Brought into a high kill shelter as a stray. Other Dogs | Lady has done really well with the foster's two dogs. The initial meeting went well and she settled in quickly. During walks, she has not had dog reactivity. Lady has been interested in the other dogs walking by and has been calm. Cats | Not Known Children | The only contact with childen with current foster has been on the patio at a cafe for Sunday breakfast. Lady did really well. She did not react to children walking close to her. She was calm and interested.  Training | Crate training is going well! Lady sits for treats and is patient. She sits to have her halter put on for walks. Leash | Lady walks really well on the leash! Activity Level | Lady has a lower activity level. In the yard she interacts with the other dogs, but does her own thing walking and trotting around. She has not shown interest in retreiving. She should be at low acitivity level currently due to the heartworm infection, but she seems to naturally be at a lower activity level.  Health Notes | Lady is heartworm positive, but treatment is very successful and completely manageable with all the proper education. MHLRM will cover the expense of treatment at one of our approved veterinarians. Heartworm positive dogs go on to live happy, normal lives after treatment and rarely experience long-term side effects. Pip is a ball of energy ready to take on the world when he opens his eyes each morning (and he's an early riser, FYI). He loves getting attention from his human fosters and wishes his foster siblings (three labs) would give him the time of day and play a little with him.  Health Notes |  Other Dogs: He is very curious about the three other dogs he's sharing a space with and would love to play with them, but they are old and grouchy and sleep a lot.  Kids: Pip loves to play with his 10 year old human foster brother. General Notes | Just as sweet & mellow as she is gorgeous, meet Bailey Personality | Bailey is super sweet and chill. We picked her up and she laid down in the back seat on the way home. Within 20 minutes of being home, she laid down while we did our own thing. You do need to be patient at first as she can be timid with new things (eg shadows in the garage) .. she responds to treats (or even pnut butter on a wooden spoon😉) and a soft encouraging voice. She's very loving.. glad to see you even if you just walk out of the room and come back in🙂 She is house broken on a schedule ... She'll pee in the morning, then late afternoon. She can hold it for 8 or more hours. She doesn't go all night and she sleeps in her kennel, not a peep. And she is good in her kennel when left with treats. Have left her for 6 hours .. was laying on her bed.. happy to see you. You just need to be patient when she goes outside to potty, as she still has puppy brain.. she gets distracted and doesn't go right away or take her back in and bring her back out once she has relaxed with eating or a toy. She enjoys lots of praise when she does go pee or poop outside!  And she has not barked .. she takes pause with all of the new sounds and moving objects like cars on a walk, but no barking 👍 Very impressed with her resilience. She takes cues well from other dogs Story | Surrendered to MHLRM by a puppy mill. Other Dogs | great..tail wagger Cats | don't know .. she's still a puppy so with education she would likely respect  Children | wags her tail, even if they are busy or loud. Let's them take her toys  Training | loves praise. Working on come, sit, down and walking on a leash.. she comes if you get eye contact. She is working on sit, down, walking on a leash and of course going potty on command and on a schedule. She holds all night and 6-7 hours (maybe more) during the day.  Leash | working on it. She gets distracted but will follow another dog or someone walking ahead..so progress! Activity Level | medium.  Health Notes | very healthy. Thank you! |  Adoption Donations |  Our adoption donations are $475 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $425 for 1-6 years, $375 for dogs 7-10 years, and $250 for 11+ years of age.
