General Notes | Want to adopt this dog? Please do not email us. Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP. Health Notes | Happy and healthy! Other Dogs | He does great with his foster brother, Gus! Leo knows when to be submissive, and we've seen him laying on his back around Gus and licking his mouth. That doesn't mean he's timid, though. He absolutely loves to play and initiates it often! Gus can get a little overwhelming sometimes, so Leo has learned to crawl under tables and chairs to take a quick breather. Too cute. He likes toys and seems to enjoy tug-o-war with other dogs. Cats | Unknown Children | Training | Not much yet, but learned "sit" in about 3 minutes (he's very food motivated!). Leash | Hasn't done much on leash, yet, but the short amounts he did seemed to go fine. Activity Level | Leo plays hard and then sleeps hard. Be ready for typical puppy energy in quick bursts. But, he also loves to relax and is remarkably laid back for a puppy this age. Loves to nap on our feet or near his foster brother. Personality | Leo is still new in our house, but we are absolutely smitten. Such a sweet little guy with an awesome personality. He likes to be with his people and will follow me around the house, but will easily be pulled away from that to run around with his foster bro. He's still growing into his big paws, so when he runs, he sometimes gets tripped up, and has the cutest, bounciest gait ever. Since he is a puppy, he is still a little mouthy, but nothing out of the ordinary (just watch for those sharp teeth!). He has learned to take treats without nipping, though, and is really gentle overall. Seriously... this guy is just the best. Someone will be very lucky to have this sweet pup join their home! Story | He came from a rescue in Arkansas. We're so happy to welcome sweet Leo to Colorado! Thank you! | Adoption Donations | Puppies to 1 year - $425, 1-6 years - $375, 7-10 years - $325, and 11+ years - $175. Purebreds are $475 regardless of age. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $600 per dog). Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet & greets by appointment to approved applicants only. To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. Please know | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page! We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved. Your application is good for 90 days from the time of approval for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle.
