Super sweet, loves cuddles. He and his brother are both very smart; already finding the potty pads or scratching the door to go out and use the bathroom. They are also already walking on a leash and sleep through the night!  Days spent figuring out what my cat is and how far he can take it, playing with brother and loving on all the neighborhood human  friends he's met.  Very good motivated! General Notes | Bless this girl's heart. Pearl is a sweet and funny ex breeder pup (no doubt her puppies were beautiful). She is the perfect age if you want a dog that gets into a routine easily and is low maintenance. She will bond with you! She loves squirrel watching/chasing, going for walks, getting treats, and head rubs, and hanging out outside. She gets so excited when she knows it is time for a walk. She has a playful personality when she is allowed to express herself. She huffs a little with new people in the house, but quickly becomes okay and lays down. She is great with my older calm lab - not good with alpha or envious other dogs.  Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Health Notes | HW+ but getting treatment which MHLRM will cover financially. She is not a jumper, so she could not jump into a truck or the back of a car.  Other Dogs | Great with other dogs! Not aggressive. Plenty of walks encountering other dogs and there is no issue!  Cats | Indoor cats maybe okay. Outdoor cats are like squirrels to Pearl.  Children | Good with babies. Not toddler tested. Assumed good with older children based on teenage interactions. Pearl does not understand "rough" play and I do not allow her to tug on her toys. She may get overstimulted when she gets excited and does not know what to do with her excitement.   Training | Currently working on basic commands. Not food agressive. Not distructive, no countersurfing, house trained. She is working on "Pearl, come" (sign language), "treat (sign language)", "food", "outside", "leash on", "leash off", "drop", "toy", and a little bit of "stay". She will paw you or nibble you if she wants something. She sleeps through the night on her own bed. She gets up when you get up. She is a very easy dog and loves consistency. She escaped the back gate when I was taking the trash out and I used by "Pearl  come" command and sign language and she came bouncing back! :) Yay! MHLRM will pay for additional training sessions - please verify with them what that entails. Truely, she just needs consistency and encouragement.  Leash | She now LOVES to go for walks. Once we get to the gate or a door, she knows "leash on" and is ready to go! She has learned that we walk in the morning and goes into the room where her leash is or runs to the door like "we're going, right?"  Once we are done, I ask her to "leash off."  Activity Level | Low to medium - she can sleep! She sleeps while I work almost all day, then she sleeps from about 7:00 PM to 5:30 AM.  Personality | Calm, cautious, independent, and sweet. She may choose to be around you and she may choose to sit outside and meditate by herself. Has some separation anxiety - but is getting better. We have left her for several hours with mixed success. She does not need to be in a crate. She may bark at newcomers and house arrivals, but her tail is waging at the same time. It's more like huffing - like....I don't know you! But, she learns to warm up if people just let her do it on her own time. She loves to fetch even though we are working on the return and drop part. She loves loves loves water!! She is okay in the car (a little hard to get her in, but then she is fine). Pearl will not do well in an environment if there is an aggressive or alpha dog. She will be very loyal to her owner by herself or with another dog.  Story | Pearl was 1 of 5 dogs being used for breeding purposes, for many many years. Mile High was contacted when the owner passed away and we were so happy to step up for these 6 pups as they are all so sweet! She has not been a pet, but is learning that humans are warm, friendly, and give treats and hugs. She now comes to me for attention - and has even made it to my face for a kiss. She is still hesitant to get in my face in the morning, but that is perfectly okay. She will tell you what she needs and what she does not in any given moment. Be patient with her, give her love, give her space, give her rules, give her training (work), and she will be your bonded and loyal partner.  You can read more about Pearl on our Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/CdVv4qbr-fH/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $475. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $500 per dog). General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Health Notes | Healthy. HW negative Other Dogs | Great- loves to play with dogs. No resource guarding. Cats | Great- she had a cat family member at her Foster in TX and they got along great! Children | She is a little bit shy at first but is amazing with kids of all ages! Takes treats gently. Training | She knows 'sit' but will need to learn other basic commands. We are working on jumping which she does when she gets excited when you come home. After a week with us, she does now put herself in her crate throughout the day. Usually at night, she has to be put inside the crate but she is a well-behaved girl in her crate at night or during the day. She is totally quiet, does not whine or bark if you leave her. Sleeps 8 hours in crate at night without a peep. She is submissive and does not want to do anything to upset her person so I think she will learn quickly! Leash | Needs leash training which should be easy because she is so small. She does pull a little bit (especially when she sees squirrels or bunnies) but this is manaegable with a harness and due to her size. Activity Level | Casey is the best of both worlds. She has the energy for long walks and playing with other dogs but she is totally happy laying around if you have things to do around the house. She also will play by herself with her toys. Personality | Can be shy initially but warms up quickly. She is the sweetest thing and her tail is always wagging. I don't think Casey has a mean bone in her body. She is very easy going and loves to be with her people, very cuddly. She will follow you everywhere and is just happy to be with her person. She is great in the car, very quiet in her crate. She LOVES to play fetch and does seem to like the water (i.e. playing in the sprinklers). She is overall just a really easy houseguest. Story | Found as a stray hiding in a bush in TX. Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. General Notes | Looking for a good boy that loves kids and all dogs?!  Meet Newton!   Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Health Notes | HW+ MHLM pays for treatment  Other Dogs | I love other dogs! I am in a foster home with other dogs and enjoy playing and cuddling with them. I do not play rough and learn queues from my furry siblings quickly.  I enjoy playing tug of war with my foster brother pup.  Sometimes I am shy when I see other dogs on walks, but once I realize they are nice, I am fine with them.  I also like to be close to the other pups in the house, we are a pack.  Cats | I have not met a cat yet. Slow introductions to ensure a smooth transition are recommended.  Children | Kids are fun! I am easily excited and kind of a big guy, so I will need extra supervision around the little kids to avoid knocking them over.  I am currently with a teenage boy, and we play, wrestle, and cuddle. Training | I am learning so much from my foster mom! I have learned to sit, lay down and go into my crate. I am a good listener when given firm commands. I need an adopter that is willing to continue my training to make sure I am always a good boy! Leash | I love walking on the leash and seeing what's happening in the neighborhood! I don't pull too much on the leash, but am learning to walk in a straight line vs. zig zag.  I love to be out, but then take a good nap because I am tired.  I went on a hike this past weekend and loved it! Activity Level | I'm a happy, playful and fun labrador. I love to run, play with toys and explore. Meeting new people is really exciting so watch out for my big tail and jumping.  I also love to play with my furry siblings, and enjoy do zoomies around the yard.  I listen to firm corrections, though!  I am also great at night, my foster mom tell me to go to bed and I cuddle up on my dog bed and stay there all night. Personality | I think I am pretty great! I love people and dogs. Sometimes I am shy when I meet other dogs, but once I realize they are nice, I am interested in meeting them.  I play gently with my foster sister in the backyard, and like being part of a pack..I am so thankful to be rescued and can't wait to find my forever family. I will be your best friend! General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Kodi is a big, lovable lab who loves his people! He is the yellow shadow that follows you around and sits pretty for pets. He loves pets - cannot get enough! Kodi is crate trained and happily eats his meals and sleeps at night in the crate. He hangs in the crate as well while his foster parents head out without issue, but will let you know once you’re home to let him out. Kodi is fully potty trained. Kodi doesn’t jump but is very happy and wiggly to see you! Because of his size this sometimes means he leans into you for affection. He is best suited for children that are older so they don’t get knocked down from his loves. Kodi is learning to walk loose leashed. He starts off excited and will pull taunt, but not drag. He listens to correction and will eventually walk loose leashed but will need continued training in this department. Kodi is friendly and playful with foster parents’ two females lab mixes but is unknown with males. Due to his size, proper introductions are always recommended. Kodi has no food aggression. General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Health Notes |  Other Dogs | Lucky loves other dogs. He gains confidence from seeing them interact with their people. He would probably do best in a home with another dog, so he can learn how great his people are by watching.  Cats |  Children | He is unsure of my toddler, but he is very gentle. Just gives her the side eye. He would do wonderful with children old enough to understand when he might be scared.  Training |  Leash | Great leash walker. Very gentle.  Activity Level | Low - Lucky is pretty relaxed. He has played some short games of chase with my dog, but he is your typical big boy and gets tired.  Personality | Very sweet. Incredibly loving.  Story |  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. General Notes | Do you want to adopt a dog that has puppy energy and snuggles but is already housebroken and knows commands? If your answer is yes, then this is the pup for you! June's foster mom says that he is their favorite dog that they have ever fostered. He is such a sweet, well-behaved lover boy. He has puppy energy and silliness when prompted, but otherwise will just nap on the couch and patiently follow you around. For a year old puppy, he actually very calm and loves to snuggle.  He is food motivated (easy to train) but not food aggressive  He and his dog foster sister eat right next each other without any problem He is the perfect houseguest- has not had a single accident and doesn't chew anything that doesn't belong to him (including the 100's of toys that his human foster brother and sister leave around the house) He has the softest ears that you've ever felt and he just wants you to pet him. This handsome guy just wants to be loved      Health Notes | Still needs to be neutered. Otherwise, he is happy and healthy Other Dogs He gets along well with his old and grumpy foster dog sister  He is the perfect gentleman amd doesn't roughhouse too hard with her  Cats | is curious about them. He knows sit and shake and is quickly learning stay. He will jump when excited (only on adults, though, not on the kids) but is getting better every day Leash | His foster family doesn't think he's been on walks before, so he's still learning how to behave on a leash. He loooves walks, but pulls some Activity Level | he is young, so there is a decent amount of energy. But get him outside for a walk or to play, he will snuggle up next to you on the couch Personality | he is a big ball of love. He likes to do his own thing or play whenever he gets the opportunity but when he is tired he tries to be a big lap dog.
