General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Ellie is a sweetheart! Her very first day in foster she played well with two huge labs in the home, and even investigated the cats, which seemed to intimidate her a bit. Her first night in the crate was AMAZING! A tiny bit of whimpering and then out cold for six hours straight. She got up, went outside to potty, then back in the kennel to sleep. She also slept in bed for a little bit and did great. She plays hard, even if it's by herself, and sleeps the same way! She has only had one accident in the house, every other time she's gone outside, but she's smart and picking it up well! She's very small and loves to snuggle wrapped up nice and warm during these cold months. Story |  Other Dogs | Playing and doing very well with two large labs in the household. Cats | Seems a bit intimidated by them. She is curious so she will probably do well eventually. Children |  Training |  Leash |  Activity Level |  Health Notes |  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. She is also so compliant with things like grooming, cutting her nails, or giving medicine. She is such a sweetheart in every way! Was even happy to go to the Vet and see the new people and gets tons of attention.   Story | Saylor was found on a concrete lot in Texas with no shade and 13 puppies born the day before. Sadly only 12 lived, but Saylor was an amazing momma. She was in fairly rough shape, but with love and a safe home, she really began to shine and show what a resilient girl she is. She is still healing up, but her spirit is already perfection. She is mostly used to home life, but she still looks for food all the time.   Other Dogs | Saylor does great with other dogs. She will engage with her foster brother now and then, but she seems to prefer a game of tug with people. When we had friends dogs visit she did great with all that energy in the backyard.   Cats | No experience. She definately chases the sqirrels, so I would introduce caarefulluy.   Children | She has met a few kids while out at events and did well with them! Training | She is housetrained and will bark if she needs to go out. Never had her in the crate and has never chewed anything.  She wil sit, but lay down is a work in progress.  We are working on her eating meals so fast and her self control waiting for dinner.  She is a counter surfer and will look for any opportunity to supplement her diet, but she is good about being called away from things.  Shs is ready to please, but she is still getting used to life indoors with reliable meals and will just take a little attention to training and giving her limits and boundaries.   Leash | Saylor is great on leash. Foster dad is in a wheelchair and has no issues walking her on leash and was great going into the vets and anywhere.   Activity Level | She LOVES to play fetch and tug-of-war.  Especially tug of war!!  Working on getting her to drop toys so that we can throw it, but she likes to play hard to get sometimes.  I would consider her medium energy, but she can get little shots of rambunctious now and then if she is bored or ready for action.   Health Notes | No health concerns. Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Puppies to 1 year - $425, 1-6 years - $375, 7-10 years - $325, and 11+ years - $175. Purebreds are $475 regardless of age. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $600 per dog). General Notes | Teddy has a heart of gold!    Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Teddy is loving and gentle and is just happy to be here! Teddy has a heart of gold and learning how to be part of a family and is quickly forgetting what life was like before he was rescued. When Teddy is happy his ears curl up and he looks like Baby Yoda.  Teddy is a mellow guy but is happy to show his goofy side.   Story | Teddy was saved from a high-kill Texas shelter. He came in as a stray pretty banged up and malnourished.  He's on the mend and is looking happier and healthier by the day! Other Dogs | He is dog friendly, lives with 2 other dogs (male & female). He's playful but very gentle.  Cats | Unsure, but given his lowkey demeanor, he could be okay with proper intro. Children | Great!  Teddy was in a foster home with a 4 and 6 year old and did great.  Current foster home has older children and he does great with them as well. Training | Teddy has mastered "sit" but is also extremely well behaved and has needed very little correction.  He's a very polite guy!  Teddy has had zero accidents in the house, does not jump up, has no food aggression, take treats gently, sleeps soundly in the dog bed at night (will gladly cozy up on a couch if he's allowed), walks like a dream and so, so much more... Leash | Teddy is a DREAM on a leash!  He will stop if smell catches his attention but just happily walks by your side.  Activity Level | Medium. Teddy is still adjusting to a normal life off the streets. He's had a few bits of playfulness with the other dogs but is just as content watching.  Each day he's showing a little more playfulness and is so happy to be part of a family. Health Notes | Teddy was in rough shape coming out of the shelter.  He's been treated for his hairloss and itchy skin & is becoming more handsome by the day.  By some miracle he is heart worm negative! Story | Ollie's parents are not able to keep him due to a major change in their living situation.  Ollie is completely house trained, and walks well on a harness with only occasional pulling. General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality Meet Ginger (aka Missy, Little Miss). She is the sweetest 6 year old you’ll ever meet.  Here is what makes her so special!   **She loves love!  She finds comfort near her person and will snuggle up wherever you are.  She has the happiest, waggliest tail.  And she loves to rest her head in your lap and enjoy all the pets.   **She is a DREAM on a leash, walking alongside you with lots of slack on the lead, every so often pausing for a sniff or two.    **She is house trained.  Enough said!   **Sleeps soundly through the night on the floor next to you.   **She’s getting along wonderfully with the resident MHLM alumn and had little to no reaction to other dogs at the soccer field.    **She is a blank slate when it comes to commands but she is learning quickly.  She is easily redirected when that silly sock makes it's way into her mouth.  **She has given her life and love to raising babies.  Now it's her time to relax and enjoy life.  With a little love and TLC she is going to make someone the best companion.     Story | We know Ginger came from a breeder in Missouri where she lived out her days in a barn, raising babies (likely lots of babies).   Other Dogs | Does great with resident dog.  Little to no reaction to other dogs. General Notes |Sweet as a Palisade Peach!   Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Peach is such a sweet girl. She will follow you around, but doesn't nip at your ankles or jump on your legs. She loves to snuggle with adults and kids and other dogs. She likes to explore outside and play with the resident dog, squeaky toys or chew on sticks.   She is a happy lab that will bring joy to all. Her whole little body wiggles with excitement when she sees you, even if you've only been out of sight for 30 seconds.  Story | Peach came from a litter of 7 pups that were dropped at shelter in Texas, all of them black.  Other Dogs | Peach loves others dogs of all sizes. She is learning that not all older dogs like little puppies jumping in their faces, but she won't nip, she just wants to lick their faces.  Cats | No exposure to cats, but I'm sure she would be very respectful and follow their lead. Her brother was recently adopted and is getting along great with the resident cat.  Children | Peach loves the tiny humans! She will happily play with the littles and loves the attention they give her. She is gentle and doesn't bite. She currently is being fostered with a 4yr old and 6yr old that adore her and love to entertain her with toys and treats.  Training | Peach needs basic training, as she is a puppy, but she is definitely food motivated and a quick learner! She is catching on quickly to potty training and has gone two days now with no accidents in the house. She knows that when you take her outside she gets a treat if she goes potty. She hasn't figured out how to alert someone that she needs to go outside, but if taken out regularaly or if the back door is open, she will go outside on her own to go potty. She sleeps quietly in her crate every night for 8hrs with no barking and no accidents. She has learned "no" "drop it" and "come." She has also learned that she must sit before she eats or gets a treat.  Leash | Peach is doing great with a slip lead or a harness and will happily walk with you with a little encouragement. She is still getting used to all the loud sounds in the neighborhood, but with time she will be a great walking partner.  Activity Level | Typical puppy energy; very active in the morning for the first two hours, then happy to nap and intermittently play throughout the day. She is great at self-entertaining with some toys or chewing on a sturdy bone.  Health Notes | Peach is a healthy puppy that is up to date on all vaccines and heartworm prevention.  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Dixie s a big sweetheart. She is sure to bring a lot of joy and happiness into your life. She always has a smile on her face when she gets to be outside, loves laying in the sun and sniffing the air. She is eager to please and wants to keep busy.  She loves playing with tennis balls and shredding them if you let her. She is getting better all the time at retrieving! She likes her plush squeak toys and she recently discovered the pull rope toys and really enjoys playing "try to take it from me" with these. Story | Dixie was adopted from our rescue as a young puppy. Her adopter loves her so much but unfortunately no longer keep her due to medical issues. We are happy to take her back into our organization and find her a new home. Her previous adopter did amazing work to help her be a good girl! Other Dogs | Dixie LOVES play time at the dog park and running around getting the zoomies out with other dogs. She'd do great in a home with another playful pup, but is also okay living solo with her humans. Cats | She hasn't met many cats. She may be tempted to chase them ;)  Children | She is all love to everyone she meets! No issue with kids of any age. Training | Dixie is treat motivated which helps with continued training, and she has started clicker training. She is fully house trained, but still needs to be let out several times a day and usually right after eating. Like most other pups and labs, Dixie likes to chew, so having a good variety of toys and chew things is critical. She's still a young pup and needs supervision around household items that you wouldn't want chewed on.  Dixie loves to go on car rides! She will go wherever as long as it is with you :)  She's not fully crate trained yet, and to be honest it isn't her favorite, but she is trying really hard to adjust.  Leash | She loves going on walks, and has slowly been transitioning to a harness which helps her behave better on leash. She loves chasing after rabbits and squirrels and flying insects. Activity Level | Dixie is eager to explore the great outdoors, and will be happiest being around an active person/family Health Notes | No health concerns. She is spayed, up to date on all vaccinations, heartworm prevention and testing. Personality | Yan is a confident, friendly and easygoing puppy. He enjoys playing with other dogs, but is most interested in attention from his human friends and will lay near you whether you are in the kitchen, bathroom or in a meeting. He loves to cuddle! Every morning he priortizes getting pets and cuddles from his humans before going to potty. No accidents in the house so he clearly knows what he is doing! He would do great as an only dog or with dog siblings. Story | Yan was brought into a Texas shelter as a stray.  Other Dogs | Amazing with other pups. He loves playing with dogs and greets every dog he meets with a waggy tail and respectful sniff. Cats |  Children | Perhaps one of Yan's most endearing qualities is his gentle demeanor with children. He gently takes treats. Leash | He is very gentle when walking. General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | If you are looking to skip potty training and have a young lab, Rachel is your girl! She is potty trained and has a great temperment. She is working on the final touches with some obedience training (sit/stay/wait etc) but she is food motivated and learning quickly! She has a gentle mouth and will let you take things from her mouth. She is very open and curious to meeting new people. She is not food aggresive and eats right alongside our lab. She is very loving and friendly towards all humans and dogs. She is a gem just waiting to jump into your life and give you lots of love! She would be an amazing companion for an active person or family and is ready to explore the Colorado outdoors with you! Story | Rachel was rescued from a hoarding situation. Three others from the same situation are already in Colorado (Penny, Dexter, and Frank) and all four have super sweet demeanors. They are all stunning and enjoy being around other dogs. They’re very loving toward people. Other Dogs | Rachel is very friendly with other dogs. She loves to play! Cats | Not tested yet. She has a strong prey drive but is young so could learn to get along with a cat. Children | Not tested yet. Training | Rachel is potty trained and crate trained. She prefers to sleep on a dog bed (outside the crate) and sleeps eight hours a night on her dog bed in our room. When we run errands she stays in her crate and is happy to nap in there while we're away. She is learning basic obedience commands like "sit, stay, come". She is a very smart girl and catching on fast!  Leash | Rachel is learning how to walk on loose leash. She enjoys going on walks and is very intrigued by new smells and sounds (and squirrels!) Activity Level | Rachel is a typical young, playful lab. She needs consistent exercise but will also take long naps during the daytime hours.  Health Notes | Rachel is up to date on all of her vaccines and has been spayed. Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet & greets by appointment to approved applicants only.  To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. Please know | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Broadway is the sweetest dog! She's a typical puppy, plays hard and rests hard! She loves playing with her furry foster sibling and chewing little puppy bones and toys! She loves people! She will snuggle right into your lap and loves to be near you! She sits by my side with toys, entertains herself, or naps while I work. She is so smart and has already figured out the doggy door! Broadway is curious but she hasn't gotten into anything she shouldn't.     If you are looking for a cute, snuggly, adventure buddy, look no further!  Story | I mean…. Do we even need to give a write up for this cutie?! Broadway is one of four pups that came to our rescue from Arkansas.  Other Dogs | Loves other dogs! Enjoys chasing after her foster sibling! Cats | Unknown but a sweet dog with an introduction I'm sure would do well. Children | No children at her foster but met quite a few kids at puppy yoga and a brewery and did great! Training | She's a smart, treat motivated pup! She knows how to sit and we are working on other basics. She's potty trained! She'll go to the back door to signal she needs to go potty. She only ever had one accident in the house on the first day she was here. She sleeps in her crate with one scheduled potty break through the night.  Leash | Does great on a leash. No pulling and stays by you. Stops to sniff a lot and takes her time. Still a puppy and figuring it out!  Activity Level | Puppy energy! Runs around and plays with toys for about 20 minutes then naps. Health Notes | None Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age.
