General Notes | This little lady came into our home with afraid of nearly everything.   Those beautiful eyes are cautious and she's always watching.  She's blossoming like a little Gem.  Everyday seems to make her smile a bit more.  She's welcoming to nearly all people and all dogs...just take your time. This was huge as she wouldn't even allow me close to her.    Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality |  Cora has a huge heart and when you show her she's safe she is going to make you melt.   Hands down the best cuddler at sleepy time.  She'll curl right into you...and purr all night long.   It's so amazing having a little iddy biddy to keep you warm and keep you safe.   Smart as a whip and she is learning rules of the home extremly fast.  She's learning to be independent and will snooze on the back porch soaking up the sun.  She'll entertain herself and she'll even kick herself in the pants with a Zoomie Zoom all over the back yard.   Lays at my feet while I work and she's always ready for a quick walk through the neighborhood.  Netlix at nine is her favorite way to wind down for bed.  She'll snuggle up on your lap and barely makes it through the movie.    Story | Cicely (responds to Cora) was found as a stray in NM Other Dogs | Cora just spent the weekend with another former foster and my doggie.  They partied so hard and I also had a few other pups come to play without issues.  She's still smiling :)  No aggression towards toys or foods.  She is a puppy so be sure to supervise or you'll lose you Flippy Floppies :)  Cats | Shes curious, but wary as resident cats were not very welcoming. Seems to have a low prey drive, but does like a little game of kitty cat chase.  She corrects quickly with a "No"!  Children | The four neighborhood children (3 - 8 years) keep popping up to see if they can see Cora (they call her PANTHER!)  She is so calm and they take her up and down the block for little walks.   It's cute! Training | This girl is very smart!  She has learned "sit" &  "shake" , almost.  She is food motivated, so that helps.  COME is the practice command of the week.  Leash manners are top notch. Even though she likes food, she does not beg and lays just outside of the dining room while we eat.   Potty Training is going good too and she knows how to use the doggie door.    Leash | Cora is an amazing walker.  I have no issues with pulling always lets plenty of slack in the leash and she's learning to stop and sit at corners.  She's got tiny litlte legs and one to two miles has been the perfect amount to put her into a morning slumber :)    Activity Level | Bursts of energy but mostly very chill & relaxed girl.  She loves to squeak her toys/stuffies, but still is not sure on why you'd throw a ball at her, hahah!  The foster family is letting her "free roam" since she does NOT like the crate.  So far only 1 remote control casualty. :/  Not bad for a you pup who once was a stray, not bad at all! Health Notes |  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. General Notes | Looking for great puppy that already has his basics down??? Look no further, Nacho is your guy!!  Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Sweet, playful, loves to curl up in your lap. Loves all people, especially the little humans that love to cuddle with him. Nacho is always up for a little adventure and soon will make a great hiking or running buddy.  Story | Nacho was dumped with 6 other siblings at a shelter in Texas in early September as a wee little pup!  Other Dogs | Nacho loves dogs of all sizes, colors and shapes.  Cats | Nacho has not been introduced to cats, but I'm sure with a "dog-friendly" cat to show him respectful boundaries he would do just fine.  Children | Nacho is being fostered with small humans and is great at cuddling with them!  Training | Nacho has learned that when he is let outside that is his time to go to the bathroom. He is still working on how to alert his people that he has to go outside. He is comfortable with the leash. He is learning sit and his name. He sleeps all night in his kennel and will happily nap in his kennel during the day if you need to go out. He does not chew on furniture, but will happily chew on his toys and bones. Nacho loves his food, and is very treat motivated!  Leash | Nacho enjoys going for a walk and is very easy to control on the leash.  Activity Level | Nacho still has some puppy energy and can't be left alone for long hours during the day. He is super happy with a lot of energy for the first couple hours of the day but then spends the rest of his day with intermittent play/nap time.  Health Notes | Nacho is in perfect health and up to date on all his vaccines and heartworm prevention!  Thank you! | Thank you for looking at Naco's profile.  He is a great pup.  I think he'll be a wonderful dog with some training.  Good personality. Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $475. General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Raven is such a love bug! She likes to follow you around the house and will lay down in whatever room you are in just to be next to you. Raven could be described as medium to low energy. When sitting on the couch, Raven is content snoozing right next to you but will also start wagging her tail and wiggling when you grab her leash for a walk. She loves meeting new people and will wait patiently when they approach so that she can get pets. She has not barked once, despite living in a highly trafficked area with lots of noises and other dogs. She loves receiving pets and will lean into you if you are next to her.  Story | Raven was dumped and found as a stray in Texas. She made her way to Colorado this week and is loving being a Colorado girl!  Other Dogs | Her Texas foster mentioned that Raven can be dominant to other dogs. She doesn't like other dogs in her space, including her food bowl, but doesn't mind humans around her or her food. She would probably do well in a house without other dogs or with a dog who respects boundaries and lets her have her space. She was found with another dog and did well with her, besides not liking the other dog near her food (which we think makes sense as she was a stray). Cats | Not sure. Children | Raven's foster in Texas had children (ages 9 and 14) and she seemed to do well around them. Training | She has only had one accident in our home on her first day, but has learned quickly that outside is where she does her business. She has "sit" down about 90% of the time and is also working on "down"! She is learning to wait before eating and has been doing well with that. Raven responds well to "no" or "off". She is little hesitant to go in her crate, but will settle without a peep AND she sleeps through the night. Raven's Texas foster had left her in her crate for 8 hours while at work and had no accidents. She is treat motivated so we have no doubt that she will pick up these skills quickly. Leash | Raven does not pull on the leash while walking. She is learning to walk right next to us and is picking it up quickly. Activity Level | Low to medium energy. She is down for an adventure when you grab her leash but is always happy to lay and snooze as well.  Health Notes |  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Amanda is the perfect dog for someone that wants a lazy love bug. She wants to be with you at all times but that usually involves napping near you. She hasn't shown much interest in toys but loves to be pet and treats. This senior girl will be the perfect addition to a laid-back home.  Story | Amanda spent her entire life as a breeder mama dog. She's excited to spend her retirement in Colorado.  Other Dogs | We've noticed Amanda is a little grouchy around some dogs, especially younger, more playful dogs. Can you blame the girl? She is ready to take a good long unbothered nap and doesn't have time for puppies! A home without other dogs may be best for Amanda, or a home with another lazy dog.  Cats | Unsure. She has not been exposed to a cat yet.  Children | Amanda is an older girl that loves to lay around undisturbed. If you have young children, you know that is not a thing 😉 She's been a mama her whole life and says she is done raising babies! For this reason, Amanda would do best in a home with older children. Training | She is a smart girl that knows basic commands. She has no issues sleeping in a crate through the night or being crated when her foster family leaves.  Leash | Amanda walks very well on the leash. No pulling and walks beside you. She loves going on a morning or evening walk.  Activity Level | Low, this mama loves her naps! An ideal adopter for Amanda would be an older adopter that is still active enough for a walk or two but doesn't need a dog to keep up on intense hikes or neighborhood jogs.  Health Notes | No health concerns.  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $475. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $700 per dog). Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet & greets by appointment to approved applicants only.  To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. Please know | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. She seeks human attention and loves to sit next to you for pets. She can be shy around new people but quickly warms up after they show her some love! General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Bailey is one of the sweetest pups we have fostered. She just loves humans, but isn't too annoying about it! (if you know what I mean) She is happy to please and show a little butt wiggle when you're proud of her. She likes other dogs, but also respects their boundaries. Is not protective over food or toys. She loves running around the yard and playing fetch with a tennis ball. She will even bring it back to you (most of the time) and let you take it right out of her mouth without a fuss. She likes to get a little excited and will try to jump, but you tell her to sit and she listens. Did I mention she love cuddles, so if you need a pup to cuddle at night, she is the one! Story | unsure. But she acts like she has been in a house before.  Other Dogs | great. respects boundaries.  Cats | unsure but doesn't seem to have a prey drive.  Children | unsure but she is very gentle so imagine she would do well.  Training | knows sit, and does really well with come, especially with a little encouragement. General Notes | Harper is a sweet lady, looking for a safe home and a trusting family to share her love with.  Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Harper is timid initially, and will need a patient adopter that is willing to give her space. Once she has come to trust you, she will happily sit next to you on the couch, sleep in your bed if you allow her, and give you lots of love. She has never shown any agression to humans of any age.  Story | Harper was found wandering the streets in a suburb of Houston very pregnant. She gave birth in a foster home. All her puppies have been adopted. Now it is Harpers turn! Other Dogs | Harper is good with all dogs when introduced slowly, and must be introduced on the leash with any tiny dogs or puppies. She has lived with older/larger dogs and is gentle while playing and has shown zero food or toy agression.
