Midwest / Junee

Female Adult Labrador Retriever 69 Large

General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Health Notes | Junee... show more

General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Health Notes | Junee had a staph infection on her left front paw that had to be x-rayed and biopsied by a dermatologist because her pads were very enlarged and raw and medications were not working.  It was determined that she had a staph infection that was not responsive to antibiotics.  They gave her the strongest meds possible to see if it would work and thankfully it did!  With lots of cone wearing (she is a trooper!) and months of meds, her paw is almost completely healed.  Junee has her final follow up appointment on January 11, 2023, and will be ready to travel from Houston to Colorado! Other Dogs | Great with other dogs and loves to play with them Cats | May be best without cats.  While she has not harmed any, she doesn't understand they are family members too! Children | Loves kids of all ages. Training | Junee is house and crate trained, will sit for treats, and 'go to bed'.   Leash | She will walk you!  Junee will pull really hard on a lead and bark at other dogs on a walk.  With some extra work and training, her foster family is confident this can be turned around. Activity Level | Junee enjoys her play time but also loves nap time too! Personality | Junee is such a doll and total Lab.  Her heart and loyalty to her family are grand and she is a love bug.  Junee's place of choice is to be by your side to keep you company and enjoys being loved on.  She doesn't get on furniture, sleeps on a dog bed in the master bedroom and has not been destructive.  Her foster family does kennel all their dogs when away from the house but believe Junee would do really well left out to roam in the home.  Junee loves dog toys and dog bones (Redbarn Peanut Butter is her favorite!).  Junee is not agressive to other dogs and does not have food or toy aggression.  Junee is one amazing Lab that will be a wonderful family dog to everyone. Story | Junee is purebred and was surrendered by her family that did not want to pay for her necessary medical needs.  Mile High Labs stepped in to help. Thank you! | Thank you for reading about Junee - initially, she may be hesistant in a new home until she understands 'the rules' and which rooms she is 'permitted' to enter.  Her foster family used tiny treat trails to get her comfy and welcomed in all parts of the home. Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $475. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $700 per dog). Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet & greets by appointment to approved applicants only.  To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. Please know | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page! We cannot guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved.  Your application is good for 90 days from the time of approval for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle.  show less

General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.     Health Notes | Healthy puppy! Other Dogs | Absolutely loves other dogs. He gains a lot of confidence from his foster siblings and loves to play and wrestle with other dogs of all sizes. Cats | No exposure yet Children | Little exposure so far, but will do great if introduced at a young age Training | Still learning on pads Leash | Too young Activity Level | Typical lab level!  Personality | Shy but sweet and gentle Story | Momma Nutmeg came to MHLR pregnant and had 5 healthy babies. Momma is a Chocolate Lab mix, but based on their appearance, we suspect dad to have some Pitty in him. Eggnog and Gingerbread are currently in the same foster home with several foster siblings to teach them the ropes. Eggnog is the shy laid-back one of the two. He is more mellow and content than his sister, but is still very loving and cuddly. Due to his shyer nature, we believe he would do better in a home with another playful dog to continue gaining confidence, but would still be great in a loving home with experienced owners that will continue to socialize him and keep him active. Due to his breed, he would not be a good fit in a home without training and/or being crated the majority of the day. Thank you! Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $475. General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Health Notes | No health concerns. Everest is a healthy puppy.  Other Dogs | Everest is great with other dogs, big and small! She has been exposed to several dogs and she can hang with all of them. She is respectful of older, grouchy dogs and playful with the younger ones. She would do well in a home as the only dog or with fur siblings.  Cats | She has not met a cat yet, but considering her age, she will most likely do fine with proper introduction.  Children | Everest has met a few kids and done really well, including a very young baby. As always, we recommend supervision when puppies and children meet to ensure boundaries are respected :)  Training | Everest is a smart little girl. Although she is a young pup, she is quite attentive and eager to please. She is working to learn sit, lay down and come. She is very food motivated so training simple commands and manners has been going well. She now naturally knows to sit when food or treats are around, "please" sits. House training is going surprisingly well and she will be trained very soon! Leash | Everest is getting practice with wearing a harness and leash. She gets better every day! Activity Level | Everest is your typical puppy. She loves to play then crashes hard for a nap. She gets the zoomies when excited. Everest is very interested in toys and really loves playing tug-of-war. She has started bringing toys back when you throw them, chew toys are helping with puppy teeth and loves Wubba toys.  Personality | Everest is such a sweet girl. She has a very gentle temperament, loves to cuddle and be near her people and dog siblings. She will make a great companion to any interested adopter!  Story | Everest, her 7 siblings, and mom were found abandoned in rural Texas. The puppies were locked in a kennel with mom stuck on the outside. They were only 3 weeks old at the time. Thankfully a kind person found them and alerted our rescue. They have been safe and warm in foster homes since then! General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Hi! I’m Rebel! A brilliant, caring, smart and loving puppy. I’m almost potty trained! I will let you know I need to go out by sitting or scratching at the back door! I’m working really hard to learn all my commands and learning the way of being in a home. I play great with other dogs and make friends with anybody I meet. I’m energetic when it’s time to play but I’m the first on your lap when it’s time to cuddle. I sleep through the night in my kennel (in another room) and will let you know if the morning when I have to go potty (usually around 6:45-7:30am)  The snow is my absolute favorite, I could play in it all day! Any toy with a squeaker grabs my attention. I’m also learning how to play fetch, and getting the hang of it pretty fast!  My foster family can’t believe what a great puppy I am and they’re shocked that I’m still looking for my forever home! Health Notes |  Other Dogs | Great - She loves her foster brothers Cats | unknown Children | unknown  Training | She is so smart. She gets the hang of things pretty quickly and is eager to learn. She is very treat/food motivated. Leash |  Activity Level | She loves to play for a little (30-45min) then is ready to snuggle on your lap or in her bed for a nap Personality | She is an amazing pup. Shes got just enough sugar and spice to her to make her the perfect pup. We like to say that shes part fox because she loves to pounch and bounce around, especially in the snow. She loves to snuggle on your lap but will eventually move to the end of the couch to really re charge. She plays great with other pups and people! What’s that? Did I just hear you’re looking for a furry companion? Pick me!! My name is Shadow and I am just that - I love being in your presence touching you and getting pets. Too many pets does not exist in my world.    I came from a shelter in Texas and am really loving the freedom my foster mom gives me in her home and at the park. The weather is a lot colder in Colorado than Texas but I don’t mind.    Running around with my dog friends at the park helps get my extra energy out. Everyone loves me there! I also do great walking on a leash. I’m told an active dog is a happy dog and that’s ME 😄   My foster home has two small kids (1 and 4) and I learned very quickly how to be gentle with them. We are all buds!   I’m learning to stay away from furniture (but if you will allow me up, I’m ok with that 😁) and not to jump when I get excited. There isn’t a crate here but I’m learning to sleep on my bed. I ask to go outside when it’s time to do my business. All in all, I’m a good boy. The best boy.   Contact Mile High Labrador Mission if you’re interested in meeting me 👋🏼     General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. General Notes Butt wiggling, tail wagging Buddy is ready to meet his people!  Looking for a 2nd pup? Good, because Buddy LOVES dogs & playing! Sweet, friendly, quiet, chill & calm, described this 100% Good boy! "What a great dog!", said his foster Mom.  We think he's about 10 months old'ish...  He loves, loves, loves people!  He's a good natured pup, who is learning every day what it is to be safe & loved, and you can see that in his confidence which grows daily. We love you Buddy!  Health Notes | Healthy & Happy! Other Dogs | Great with other dogs! He loves them!  Cats |  Children | Good with kids Training | Crate trained ✔️ Sleeps all night in crate without a peep ✔️ Willingly goes in his crate when I leave the house ✔️ Does not bark while I'm gone but barks to get out when he hears me come home (understandably, this boy wants to be with his people, let the good times roll!), said foster Mom.  Buddy is totally potty trained and will come and get you/bark if he needs to go out ✔️  Knows sit, working on down and stay ✔️  All around, Buddy is a good boy! Leash | OK on leash with a little direction, which is a win for  Lab!  Activity Level | Medium Personality | Happy, happy, happy! Buddys tail is always going, what a wiggle butt!  I do not think he spent much time indoors prior to Mile High taking him.  He's learning about all the new sounds inside like washing machines, dishwashers, and fans.  Story |  Thank you! | Thank you for checking out Buddy's profile.  I call him Buddy because he is going to be your little buddy :) He follows me around but is learning to be a little more independent.  His favorite sleeping spot is a blanket next to my bed or his kennel. General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Rocky is such a love bug and happy puppy. His personality comes out more and more every day. He gets along great with our dogs. Rocky loves the snow, running around the yard, playing with toys and snuggling when tired. He plays hard, then naps hard!  He has mastered going up and down stairs and is really getting the hang of using the dog door. He mostly sleeps through the night (8 - 9 hrs) and is starting to understand going potty outside. He walks well on a leash and keeps up with our dogs.  He enjoys meeting people and other dogs but is a little timid if they bark or make a loud noise.  If that happens he just runs to you for reassurance and is then ready to check it all out!  He will bring so much joy to his new family!  Health Notes |  Other Dogs |  Cats |  Children |  Training |  Leash |  Activity Level |  Personality |  Story |  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age.
