General Notes | Energetic, Loving & loves other dogs! Noodle is an absolute joy! Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Noodle is an energetic ball of joy! She loves toys and ear scratches. She's a very curious two-year old and likes to see what you're doing. If she can be a part of it, even better! She's very interested in meeting other people and dogs during a walk and when allowed, politely touches noses with the dogs to say hello. Off-leash at home and in a fenced yard or at the dog park, she gets the zoomies and she's fast!  Story | Noodle was adopted as a puppy from an animal shelter, then found as a stray later. Her owners didn't claim her so she was released to Mile High. She spent time with a foster in Texas before coming to a foster in CO. Other Dogs | She is very eager to meet other dogs. She's the only dog at her current foster but has met dogs on her walks and is friendly towards them. She would do well to have a playmate in a fenced yard to run around with. Cats | Not sure Children | Noodle can be an enthusiastic greeter so school age kids would probably be best. Training | Noodle is mostly potty trained and working on learning how to greet people from the ground and not in their faces. She is bright and very food motivated so she should get the hang of things quickly. She enters a crate with little encouragement and sleeps well there all night. She would do well in a home where her family will continue her training. Leash | She has been walking with a harness very well and learning not to pull. Activity Level | High. She loves to play and is happy taking long exploration walks on the trail. She likes playing in the creek on the trail too. She hasn't had the opportunity while living with her foster, but she would probably like swimming. She's very much a lab! Health Notes | Noodle is a healthy young dog who is a bit underweight from her time as a stray. The good thing is she is very into all efforts to put her weight back on! Thank you! |  Adoption Donations |  Our adoption donations are $475 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $425 for 1-6 years, $375 for dogs 7-10 years, and $250 for 11+ years of age. General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Annie is a playful and loving girl. She enjoys meeting new people and other dogs, especially ones that will wrestle and run with her. She loves to be snuggled and have her belly rubbed. She really is the sweetest dog and is ready to find her forever home!  Story | Annie was found as a stray in rural Texas. She was placed on the shelters euthansia list due to limited space.  Other Dogs | Annie is very playful with other dogs. She likes to wrestle and jump while playing. We recommend a household with another young or active dog that can keep up with her play drive. She appears to lack socialization and needs coarching to learn when playtime is over. This is an easily trainable behavior that we see often with rescue Labs first leaving the shelter environment. In her foster home she's learning to have down time and take naps after playing, she's very smart and catches on quick!  Cats | Unknown. Children | Although Annie has not met children while at the shelter, she is great with all of the staff. We imagine she will make a great family pet with proper intros. Training | Annie is a blank slate, but is very smart and seems to pick up on training quickly. She already knows to sit for a treat! Very food motivated and eager to please although sometimes life is too exciting to listen 😜 She keeps her kennel clean, however, this does not always translate to house trained when entering a new home. Annie will do best with an adopter that is willing to provide basic training and skills.  Leash | She will pull on leash when excited, but is learning in her foster home. A front lead leash seems to work the best for her. She loves walks and exploring outside!  Activity Level | Medium-high. Annie is a young, energetic Lab. She needs a home that will provide regular exercise, socialization and basic training. We are confident she will thrive and be an amazing pet with this combo! She loves to run, play fetch, get the zoomies and eat treats.  Health Notes | Healthy, Annie is up to date on vaccines. Personality | Oliver is such a sweet boy that only wants love and affection! He greets everyone with kisses and tail wiggles. He loves to snuggle up and get pets. Oliver can't wait for a new life full of love and adventure. Story | Oliver was confiscated from his owners due to neglect. He was extremely matted and had to be shaved. But his hair is growing in great! (We've all had one bad hair cut in our lives...) Other Dogs | Friendly! Oliver loves other dogs. He's meet them on and off leash without issue. He is having a blast with his foster sister, they run and play together as well as lay in the grass and hang out. Cats | Unknown. Children Oliver is very friendly with the children in his foster home. He likes to give his paw for a treat. Training | He is a well-mannered dog. He has learned sit and come while with his foster family. They are working with a professional trainer to help with leash skills. He really just wants to be right next to his people. Food motivated with treats which helps with training.  Leash | He pulls when excited. It doesn't seem like he's been exposed to the leash very much. We're confident he'll get the hang of it with time and foster family is working with a trainer to help him get there faster.  Activity Level | Medium-high. Oliver is a young dog with sporting breed genetics. He will do best in an active home that provides regular exercise and socialization. Sheepadoodles require 40-60 minutes of daily exercise. Health Notes | Oliver is heartworm positive, but treatment is very successful and completely manageable with all the proper education. MHLRM will cover the expense of treatment at one of our approved veterinarians. Heartworm positive dogs go on to live happy, normal lives after treatment and rarely experience long-term side effects. Don't let this stop you from adopting Oliver!  Grooming | Sheepadoodles require regular brushing (2-3 times a week) to prevent matting and grooming every 6-8 weeks. He is currently shaved, but his coat is growing out. If you are looking for a non shedding dog - Oliver is your guy!  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations |  Our adoption donations are $475 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $425 for 1-6 years, $375 for dogs 7-10 years, and $250 for 11+ years of age. He greets everyone he meets with a tail wag and smile.  Story | Monty was surrendered to a high kill shelter by a citizen that stated she "found" him along with another dog (Freya). We are unsure if they were truly found as strays or belonged to the person that surrendered. They both appear to be used to living in a home with other pets and people. Other Dogs | Friendly! Monty is super playful with other dogs but he doesn't mind their company. Cats | Unknown. Children | The person that surrendered Monty and Freya stated they had lived in her home with her young kids and did really well with them. Monty is a large dog but super gentle. Training | Monty doesn't know many commands or tricks but he seems eager to learn. He's a good listener and likes treats!  Leash | He is a large, strong dog. We recommend a harness or gentle leader for walks. We're confident he will be great on leash with more exposure! Activity Level | Medium. General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Goose is described as a submissive, independent girl. Goose loves to lounge in the sun in the back yard. She's very easy going and doesn't demand a lot from her owners, but she is affectionate and enjoys pets when offered.  Story | Goose was surrendered to MHLRM with her brother Jack. Unfortunately a young child in the home has severe dog allergies, and Goose and Jack's family has made the difficult decision to rehome the pair for the health of their child. They have lived in a home with the family since puppyhood.  Other Dogs | Goose is submissive with other dogs. She greets them nicely on leash and enjoys playing with them. She is used to living in a home with other large dogs. Although another dog is not a requirement for Goose, there may be an adjustment period if she transitions to a single dog home. Cats | Unknown. Children | Goose is great with kids! She's the perfect family dog. She currently lives with twin newbors, a two year old and a four year old. She is gentle and loving to each of them.  Training | Goose is one smart dog. She knows basic commands and listens well. She is house trained and does not need a crate when left alone. Although like most Labs, Goose is very motivated by food. She will grab things off the counter if within reach. This behavior can be easily corrected with time and training. Goose sleeps nicely on a dog bed at night.  Leash | She is decent on a leash but can pull a little. She has amazing recall and often goes off leash at her family's 40 acre property. She is ready for lots of hikes in the mountains! Activity Level | Medium. Goose is by no means a crazy, energetic Lab, however, we believe a regular routine that includes exercise and socialization will serve her well. She's happy to snooze most of the day.  Health Notes | Healthy! Goose is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Personality | Jack is a great dog! He is very affectionate and craves attention from his family. You may call him a velcro dog 😉 He's also the "security guard" of the house. He's known to check all the rooms, outside, etc. to make sure everyone is safe and in their place. He will alert when someone walks by the home or approachs the door. After a quick sniff, he gladly lets people inside and immediately becomes their best friend! Jack will get your attention by simply inserting his head between your legs or in your lap when he wants love. Story | Jack was surrendered to MHLRM with his sister Goose. Unfortunately a young child in the home has severe dog allergies, and Goose and Jack's family has made the difficult decision to rehome the pair for the health of their child. They have lived in a home with the family since puppyhood.  Other Dogs | He currently lives with two other dogs and really enjoys their company. He is used to a pack and does not like to be completely alone. We believe Jack will do best in an adoptive home with another dog or two. Jack is what we call a "mouthy player" or "vocal" dog. Some may mistake this as aggression, however, Jack has never bit or attacked another animal or human. He regularly greets other dogs on leash and despite the chattiness, he is friendly and welcoming! He just has a lot of say 😆 We share this as we do not want adopters to be surprised by Jacks "conversations" while on walks.  Cats | Unknown.  Children | He has been raised around 4 children from age newborn to 4 years old and is great. He let's them love and climb all over them. Jack is used to being in a family environment and will do best with a similar adoptive home. Training | Jack is a smart boy! He knows basic commands and will sit for treats. He does not require a crate when left alone. Although as a food motivated Lab, he has been known to counter surf. This behavior can be easily corrected with time and training. He has access to outdoors whenever he wants so comes and goes as he pleases. When the door is closed he will paw at it when he needs to go to the bathroom. Jack sleeps nicely on a dog bed at night.  Leash | He is pretty good on a leash, but can pull sometimes. He's often off leash at his owners 40 acre property and has great recall. He never strays too far from his humans. Activity Level | Medium. Jack is a mild mannered dog, but will benefit from an active lifestyle. He enjoys a nice snooze after some time outside.  Health Notes | Healthy! Jack is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations |  Our adoption donations are $475 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $425 for 1-6 years, $375 for dogs 7-10 years, and $250 for 11+ years of age.
