General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Health Notes | His jaw makes a clicking noise sometimes - this could be due to a nervous tick or he may have survived distemper in his previous life. It doesn't seem to affect him or cause any pain.  Other Dogs | good with other dogs Cats | ignores the cat for the most part Children | good with kids. He's mild mannered and fairly gentle for his size.  Training | he knows sit, hasn't had an accident in the house yet, slept in the crate all night, had not barked once yet, he didn't cry or bark in the car ride, will go in the crate for a treat and won't whine once inside Leash | pretty good on the leash, does pull a bit, no reactivity towards other dogs so far  Activity Level | seems low energy for his age Personality | Coco is a sweet, cuddly guy who likes to be by your side all the time. He'll lay down in the bathroom and wait for you to finish showering. He likes to lay down by your feet or be on your lap. Wants love but will also shy away if you move towards him too quickly. He seems a little shy and timid, so we expect his personality to come out more as he gets more comfortable! Story |  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $475. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $700 per dog). General Notes | Nelly is the sweetest girl!! 💜  She is learning to trust and adjust to life's changes but makes HUGE strides daily. She will need an adopter that will be patient and give her time to trust but once she does she's the most loving pup.  She really attaches to her human(s) once she knows she's safe.  She loooooves 🧀 and belly rubs!!  😊 She is overall a very easy dog but just needs a little time to adjust. Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Health Notes | Healthy Other Dogs | She seems to feel comfort with having another dog around and is great with her foster brother.  She'a met several other dogs on walks and perks up when she sees another dog. Cats | She met a cat in a walk and was interested but backed away when the cat hissed at her. Children | She may do best with older children as fast movements spook her a little right now.  She is so loving and gentle though that when given time to feel comfortable she would probably love having any age kiddos around. She's lived in a foster home with teenagers. Training | She is house trained and doesn't bark.  She's been going into her crate for daytime naps but hasn't been destructive when left alone so it's mainly used as a safe spot for her. She's otherwise a pretty open book so will need some basic training once she feels more comfortable with her surroundings.   Leash | She does well on walks.  She doesn't really pull and does pee/poop on walks so would be ok without a yard.  She will occasionally get spooked by noises but recovers quickly.  She is getting more confident every day.  Activity Level | Mellow- She does like to play in short bursts but prefers napping most of the day.  Personality | Nelly is a sweet, submissive girl who is timid and nervous with new situations but has come such a long way in a short time. With a little time and patience this girl will be such a great companion.  She is getting more relaxed every day. 💜 Story | Nelly was a part of a hoarding situation in Crockett, TX.  She was dumped with a pack of 20+ dogs and found roaming. Mile High Lab Mission rescued 6 of them and the rest went to other rescues. These dogs had wounds in different stages of healing and have been fearful of humans.  They will need time and patience to learn how to trust humans but have so much love to give. Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. General Notes | Buddy is a big ball of love and would thrive in a home where he can be around his family a lot, as he really enjoys human company. He loves cuddles and being close to foster mom. He might have a little separation anxiety but foster mom has seen big gains as he's settled in with her. He's very comfortable in his crate and spends time in there while foster mom is out of the house - sometimes he even goes in there on his own just to nap. He isn't easily startled and has been very calm and comfortable around groups of people (including kids). He seems to think it's every human's job to give him belly scratches and occasionally he can be a little pushy about getting affecction. Buddy is very interested in rabbits (and sometimes birds). Everyone who has met him has gushed about what a sweetheart he is. Health Notes |  Other Dogs | Cats | probably not (they look too much like bunnies, which he'd really like to chase) Children | yes Training | We think Buddy must have had training at some point, as his manners and impulse control are wonderful. He is a super quick learner and very eager to please - he'll do just about anything for treats or affection from his foster mom. Leash | Buddy is great on leash. He's a calm, chill walker (more of a stroller, really) and has only pulled when he sees a bunny he wants to chase. He walks beside foster mom easily and likes to make stops to sniff along the way. Activity Level | So far Buddy has been pretty mellow. He doesn't seem interested in toys, sticks, or the splash pool foster mom has offered him. He might not be up for big hikes in the mountains, as he moves at a pretty leisurely pace on walks and tends to slow down after a long walk around the neighborhood. He does get excited any time we're getting ready to go on a walk and is especially peppy before our morning walk. Foster mom thinks he'd probably love a yard but he seems to do fine with lots of daily walks and time lounging on the patio with her while she works. Personality | 100% love bug Story | Buddy survived being shot and hit by a car and amazingly, made a full recovery. He still has a few bullets in him but you'd never know and he doesn't seem to have any lingering health effects. He's not reactive at all around cars and is a great backseat passenger. Buddy is new to Colorado from Texas and has been stealing humans' hearts since he landed. Thank you! Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet & greets by appointment to approved applicants only.  To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. Please know | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page! We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved.  Your application is good for 90 days from the time of approval for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle.  show less

General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Health Notes |  Other Dogs | Jasmine loves to play with and cuddle up with other dogs. She is learning to pick up on social cues from her older, grumpier, foster brother when he doesn't want to play. She would do fine with or without another dog, though she would probably prefer to have another dog to play with or a family that will take her to the dog park to play.  Cats | she is fostered with a cat. She is friendly, but does chase the cat. She is slowly learning to leave the cat alone! Children | She is learning not to jump when she gets really excited. She has been around kids as young as 6 years old without any signs of aggression.  She enjoys playing fetch and chasing toys that the kids throw for her.   Training Jasmine is a bright puppy and LOVES food, so she has picked up training quickly. She is mostly crate trained and potty trained. She will let out a cry at the door if she has to go to the bathroom. She hasn't had a single accident for several days. She sleeps in the crate all night without a bathroom break and without waking up most nights. She also naps well in her crate for ~2-hour increments during the day and has done fine when left alone. She will even go in the crate with the door open to nap during the day. She also has no anxiety during car rides; she usually falls right asleep in the back seat. She's very smart and has learned sit, come, and lay down commands already. She's also learned what "no" means and responds well to it which is useful for a curious puppy! Leash | She does well on a training leash. She is fostered in a home without a fenced yard and is gaining lots of practice on the leash. She does get excited whe she is walking with another dog and tries to play which we have been correcting. She loves to run next to you on the leash. She would make a great running partner once she's bigger and stronger! Activity Level | Typical lab puppy activity level. Would do well in an active home. Would be a great hiking partner! Personality | Jasmine is a super sweet, lovable, energetic, little puppy. She loves to be a part of the family and be included in everything! She loves to be picked up and held by the humans! She also loves chewing on toys and playing tug with rope toys. Her foster mom is smitten with her! Story  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. General Notes | Jay is a ray of sunshine. He's a confident little puppy who loves his humans and dogs alike. He knows how to walk on leash, is mostly potty trained, and is comfortable with a crate. Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Health Notes | Healthy and energetic. Other Dogs | He enjoys the company of other dogs but is equally happy alone. He is not scared of any dog, big or small, and seems to understand social cues. He will play with dogs that want to but will stay away if there is any growling or otherwise. Cats | No cats at his foster's but they would likely be okay. He may chase the cat initially but is easily redirected. Children | There are no kids in the foster home but I expect he'd love them. He loves to snuggle and chase his humans if they want to play. He met kids of all sizes at an adoption event and was gentle with all. Just watch out for his tiny sharp teeth. Training | He is almost completely potty trained. He is currently taken out once during the night (though may not be needed anymore) and every few hours during the day including after leaving the crate and feeding. He is fed in the crate and will go there on his own with his toys. He currently sleeps in a crate (that is open) in the bedroom at night - he will not get out and he will not go potty in there, such a good boy. When left alone at home, he is crated with his toys and a nice treat (PB Kong) and appears happy (and not stressed) when you return home.  Leash | He is great on leash for a puppy. He will go potty on leash and will follow you closely wherever you're going. Several people commented that he has excellent focus for a puppy on leash. Activity Level | He is a classic puppy. Will play hard (on his own or with a human/canine companion) and then will crash for a nap. He loves to play tug of war and fetch and will chase a ball around on his own. Personality | Jay is a very happy puppy. His tail is wagging constantly. He loves to play with any and every toy. He will try to chew on a lot of other things and should be watched and redirected...he's just a little puppy after all. He seems very confident for his size and age and loves to explore and meet other dogs and humans. He really wants to be close to someone and may cry initially if left alone in a different room (work in progress). He gets excited about his food and treats but alo responds very well to verbal praise and pets. Story | Jay was brought into a shelter in Texas with his 3 siblings. Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age.
