He is great on a leash (pulls a little, but we are working on that), and is fully housebroken. He sleeps well in his crate all night and loves to be right by your side or sitting on your feet if he can't be in your lap. We are so in love and know he's going to make a great pet for someone soon. He is also very typical lab in that he loves to have something in his mouth and is always ready to eat! He seems interested and friendly towards other dogs, but we have kept him away since he's still a pup. He's wonderful with children but not super high energy like many puppies. He's picking up basic commands very quickly with his foster family.  Story |  Other Dogs |  Cats |  Children | he is wonderful with children. Still learning not to jump up on them, but a total love!  Training | working on basic manners and commands, learns very fast  Leash | pulls a little but is well behaved on the leash and doesn't even seem to notice it is there. He loves to heel when off leash so he will be a great walking/running buddy soon Activity Level | loves to play but still naps frequently (has to grow into those big feet of his!) Does your dog need a dog? Look no further than Ninja! Personality | Ninja is an extremely loving boy once he connects with you. He loves to cuddle, give kisses, and just be by your side. I assume him to be in the 6-8 month range. He is still growing and will probably be between 35-40 pounds. His favorite activities are playing with other dogs and chewing/destroying any toy he can. Story | We believe Ninja was brought in as a stray to a Texas shelter. He is currently living in a foster home in Westminster with 4 foster siblings. Other Dogs | Ninja needs to go to a home with another playful and confident dog. Ninja absolulely ADORES other dogs and is happy to play with any pup, any size. He goes to daycare with his foster mom daily and never gets tired of wrestling. He does have some confidence issues meeting new people, so having a confident dog at home will help make his transition easier and his life more fullfilled. Cats | Unknown Children | He has not been around many kids. He is sometimes scared by loud noises. We recommend a house with older children or children that are very familiar with dogs.  If you do have kids, they should pet sweet Ninja under his head and be calm.  In no time at all, he will be cuddling with them!   Training | Ninja is potty trained (with a dog door), sleeps through the night without a crate, his recall is great, and understands the "no" command. While extremely food motivated, he is still a little skittish when learning new commands. He does best with a calm gentle tone over someone more stern or aggressive. Positive re-enforcement is absolutely best for him to learn. He does well in the house outside of a crate as long as he has other dog friends and dog friendly toys to occupy him. He currently sleeps in our room, either on the dog bed or in our bed.  Also, he recently got some swimming lessons and HE LOVED it!  He now loves the water and swimming! Leash | He is getting better every day! A little more practice and he'll be ready to join you on daily walks. Activity Level | Ninja is a young pup, so it's no surprise he has a lot of energy! On his days off from doggy daycare, he spends time wrestling with his foster siblings and doing zoomies around the house. He needs a play buddy and lots of exercise to keep him stimulated. Health Notes | Ninja is a healthy boy looking for his forever family! General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $475. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $700 per dog). Personality | Kalani is a pretty little brindle girl who is learning all about the world and becoming more independant. She has the most beautiful green eyes and the cutest little pig snort! She loves to run in the grass and climb on things. As a typical puppy, she plays hard and sleeps hard.  She is being socialized with the foster's dogs, and has been with cats! She also enjoys chasing chickens but is learning to be a good chicken pup! She has been great with her previous foster's 7 and 9 year old grandsons and now enjoys her current foster's 7 year old son!  She will sleep all night in her crate but loves to sleep and cuddle in bed too. She uses the doggie door to go outside and is still working on going potty outside 100% of the time! She will be a great new family member for someone!   Story | Kalani's mom Saylor gave birth to thirteen puppies -- yes, thirteen! She did a great job wtih them all. They were born in a MHLM foster home and have been loved from the beginning and are very well socialized.   Other Dogs | Kalani shows no fear of the foster's dogs - she wants to play play play!  Cats | She is interested, but does not chase them. The cats like her! Children | She has been around children 7 and up so far and does great!  Training | Kalani is working on her manners and loves the attention as she practices sitting, walking on leash, staying quietly and dealing with all the new activities in their lives. Kalani wants you to know that she is a very quick learner and gets an A+ from her foster mom.  Leash | She is doing wonderfully on a leash - don't forget, she is just a baby and still learning! Activity Level | Play, sleep, play, sleep - you get it! Health Notes | No health concerns. General Notes | Looking for the dog that is the definition of HAPPY!  Meet Phoebe!  Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Phoebe is a goofy delight!  She LOVES all people and is very enthusiastic with her greeetings.  Her tail wags with so much force that her back end has no choice but to wag along.  The key word here is HAPPY Story | Phoebe was surrendered by her owner in Texas due to her allergies. Other Dogs | She loves all dogs big and small. Cats | unknown Children | she LOVES kids!  However, due to her size and enthusiasm, she would most likely do best in a home with older kids.  Or, with smaller children who don't mind being knocked over once and awhile. Training | she has a good grasp on the basics but will occasionally forget her trianing due to excitement. Of ocurse she is VERY treat motivated!   She has been crate trained but is allowed free access to all of her foster home so unnecessary. Leash | Phoebe is somewhat of a puller but is getting better daily.  WIll need a strong hand at times. Activity Level | She is your typical young lab in that while she is not hyper, she does need at least one hour of exercise daily.  While in the house she will wander about at times but will soon settle down.  She loves to be outside with her humans but is not a fan of being outsdie on her own. Health Notes | She has allergies that, at the present time, require medication.  Other than that she is as healthy as a typical lab. Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Boone is such a handsome, loving dog. He is your typical young lab that could benefit from more training and structure. He is eager to please and treat motivated. He's learning that nibbling is not an acceptable form of play and that the food on the counter isn't for him 😉  Boone loves his daily walks, car rides and chew toys. He'll gladly curl up next to you in the evening as you watch your shows. Boone would love an active adopter that is dedicated to continuing his training.   Story | Boone is a rescue from Texas and most likely spent a long time alone roaming a rural area.  Other Dogs | He is dog friendly and would benefit from a home with another playful dog. He greets dogs well on and off leash.  Cats | Boone is currently in a home with cats, however, he likes to chase them 😬  For this reason, we recommend an adopter without cats or possibly an older, "dog-smart" cat that won't encourage his game of chase. Children | Boone really likes kids, but he doesn’t know his size. He can get overly excited and "herd" smaller kids. This is an easily trainable behavior that we see often. Keep in mind, Labs are in the sporting group and love to make everything a game 😏 We recommend a home with older children or a family that will work to set clear boundaries between Boone and his little "siblings" 👧  Training | Boone is a smart boy! He knows some basic commands, like sit and down. He's treat motivated and quickly learning come and stay 👏  Boone patiently waits for his food bowl to be placed down at meal time. We're confident with more training this boy will grow into an amazing adult dog.  Leash | He does pretty well on a leash. He likes to sniff and greet people as they pass.  Activity Level | Boone is an active lab, however he is pretty calm for a one year old.  He enjoys his walks but will lay down and sleep while a person is working from home.  Health Notes | Boone has a sensitive tummy. He is slowly adjusting, but we recommend a bland diet of turkey and rice or a GI-specialized kibble along with a probiotic.  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. General Notes | Max has all the energy and spunk of a puppy but also does amazing in his crate, sleeps through the night, and hasn't had any accidents in the house. He loves zooming around the yard, cuddling up with you when he's tired and loves chasing his toys when you throw them. He's catching on to training fast and loves trips to the stores or chilling at breweries. He's just a sweet lovable pup who would be a great addition to any family. Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Max may have a serious look at times but he is super playful and loves being around his people. He can have fun on his own tossing his toys around before sitting for a good toy chewing session, but his favorite is when you throw a toy for a game of fetch in the yard or he gets to chase another dog with a toy. He's done amazing meeting new people, or when there's a large group of people around, just sits contently and lets people pet him. He's the sweetest pup and will always put a smile on your face with his wiggle butt. Story |  Other Dogs | He loves being around other dogs, especially loves chasing them in the yard when they have a toy. He loves to play with them but may take a little to understand cues at first with new dogs. Cats | Unknown Children | Great with kids! He was in a foster home with 1 year old and 3 year old and did great. He is still a puppy (with long legs) so he may need some help learning boundaries with littler kids. Training | Reward value is definitely the game to play with Max, since everything is new to him he is known to ignore treats at times while training. High value rewards are key to a good training session. He's currently working on basic commands (sit, come, down), not counter-surfing and also desentization to new things he's not familiar with. He loves to try to chase cars but is working on sitting for a treat while cars pass by. He does like to bark at other dogs nearby so we're working on ignoring them with redirection and desensitization training. Leash | He walks great when he has a harness on (less pulling), he can get distracted easily on walks but does well when following other dogs in front of him. Making noise to get his attention usually does the trick to get him to come back to you and continue the walk. Activity Level | As a puppy he has lots of energy to play and explore, but also loves his naps in his crate to re-energize. He'll likely be a medium energy dog once he's grown out of the puppy phase, he won't need hours of walks each day to tire but is also happy at any chance to tag along for an outing or hike! Health Notes | He's currently on antibiotics while an abscess he had on his neck a few weeks ago heals Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. General Notes | Hi, my name is Paxton (Pax)! I am 7- 1/2 months old and am a smaller lab than usual (only about 35 lbs), but my foster mommy says that I have as much personality as a puppy twice my size! I have a lot of enthusiasm about life and much excitement about finding my family. If I had a magic lamp and could choose the perfect family to call my own, I’d hope for a family with kids to play with or another dog-friendly dog or maybe a Mom/Dad who are active and home a lot. My foster mommy says that when I got to Colorado, I had no skills and no manners at all. She says I was like the Tasmanian Devil, but I’ve come a very long way since then! I am comfortable being in my crate and feel safe there. I sleep there (unless you’ll let me sleep with you...??) and eat my food there. I love, LOVE food and treats of all kinds, so treats are how I’ve learned how to “focus”,“sit”, “lie down”, “wait”, “come”, and I’m still excited about learning new things. I’ve learned the 1st half of “fetch”... meaning that I’ll chase after a ball or stick and pounce on it, but I haven’t quite learned how to bring it back yet. I’ve had to make all the decisions in my life so far, but I’d rather let you be the boss of me. I’m really smart, so it won’t take me long to learn what you want me to do... especially with treats that smell like bacon! I love being around kids... and kids LOVE being around me! I’m on the small side, so I kinda fit well with kids’ size and energy. I also love toys and sticks to chew on. I play really hard, then I want to snuggle & cuddle with you. Would you cuddle with me and let me love you??? I’m learning how to do better walking on a leash because sometimes I get distracted by all the sights & smells on a walk, so be patient with me, ok? It’s all new to me, but I’ll definitely get the hang of it. More than anything, I just want to be part of your family and do things together forever! Signed, Paxton Personality | Pax has learned some basic commands like "Come!", "Sit", "Off!" and "Wait" when the crate door is opened.  He loves being in his crate, especialy if he has a chew-toy to keep him company.  He has a vibrant personality and is thrilled to meet new people. He loves children!   He would love to be in an active home.  He'll run alongside you, then, he'll curl up beside you and snooze while you catch your breath!   He loves to explore outside, but can tend to get distracted on a walk, so be ready to redirect him.  He'll learn very soon. He LOVES treats and is food motivated, so as long as you have some yummies in your pocket, you have his attention!  Story |  Other Dogs | Pax does great with other dogs and loves to chase the tennis ball with his foster brother.  He is easily correctable by dogs who establish boundaries.   Cats |  Not sure Children | Pax does GREAT with children!!!  He is in a home where his foster teaches music to all ages of kids.  He loves them all and they love him! Training | This young'en is housetrained and sleeps in his crate like a real pro!  He is a smart boy and is catching on to basic obedience commands.  He knows "Come!", "Sit", "Off!" and "Wait" when the crate door is opened.  Leash | Working on it, he just needs practice! Activity Level | Playful, active puppy!   Health Notes | Healthy and Happy! Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved.  Your application is good for 90 days from the time of approval for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle.  show less

General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Cash is a friendly, goofy pup. He has a big smile and tail wags to match!  Story | Cash was surrendered to Mile High by a family that tried to help him but it was not a good match due to their young children. Other Dogs | Wonderful! He loves other dogs and greets them well on or off leash. He'd love another dog in the house to play with but has been living as an only dog and does fine.  Cats | Friendly! He will sniff then move on.  Children | Small, loud and fast moving kids annoy Cash (can you blame him 😉) He will give a low growl when they enter his space. We recommend a home with kids 12 and over.  Training | Cash is a smart labrador! He knows sit, down, shake, come and heal. He loves pleasing his humans! Leash | Pretty good! He knows how to heal but can become excited and forget. Oops! Activity Level | Cash would love an active family that takes him on walks and plays fetch in the yard.  Health Notes | No health concerns. Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet & greets by appointment to approved applicants only.  To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. Please know | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption.
