General Notes | Want to adopt this dog? Please do not email us. Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP. Personality | Jared is a rough and tumble rascal. He plays hard, wrestles hard, is curious and fearless. Despite all of his roughness, Jared is the sweetest, eager to please boy with a sweet and gentle soul. He will walk up to you, sit at your feet and look up at you, waiting to be picked up. He loves to be picked up and snuggled, will give lots of kisses. In short time, he wants back down to play. He does well playing with his sister. Although he can be very rough with her, she gives back to him what he dishes out. Story | Jared, along with his 10 siblings, were surrendered to a shelter in Texas by a breeder when he became injured and no longer able to care for them. Other Dogs | Jared does really well with other dogs. He will play rough and hard, but understands when the older foster sisters tell him they aren't interested in playing. Cats | He has seen the foster's cat, but wasn't interested in chasing her or following her. Children | Foster does not have young children in the home. It is important to note that he is at the puppy stage with biting/teething/chewing. Training | Jared is doing better than his sister with potty training, however he is very young and will need more time to learn bladder control and potty training. UPDATE: He is so close! We only had one accident yesterday!! He has started to go to the door and whine when he needs to go outside. He is a ROCK STAR in the crate at night! He sleeps with his sister in a crate at night, and they go 4-5 hours without accidents, which is amazing for this age! He whines some being placed into the crate if he isn't worn out or exhausted, so foster mom lays down by the crate for a few minutes and he settles and falls asleep quickly. Jared seems to have an amazing nose, and is extremely treat/food motivated. He will defintely be easy to train. Leash | Activity Level | Typical puppy....plays hard for an hour or two, sleeps hard for an hour or two. When he's playing he is all out, rough and tumble, energetic. Health Notes | Healthy happy puppy! Thank you! | Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $475. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $700 per dog). Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet & greets by appointment to approved applicants only. To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. Please know | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page! We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved. Your application is good for 90 days from the time of approval for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle.
