General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Patsy is a sweet girl who loves people.   Story | Patsy is one of six older females a breeder surrendered to Mile High Lab Rescue. She gets along well with my dog.  They're still working on playing together but are fine together in all situations including eating. Patsy didn't understand cats when she first got here and she was "overly" interested in them.  Now she barely notices them. Children | She enjoyed standing on the fence greeting kids on their way to school.  Calm but excited, tail wagging. A calm girl with no training.  We're working on very basic commands.  She does well in a crate.  A treat and a gentle nudge she'll sleep through the night and when we're away.  She also sleeps through the night on a dog bed next to the bed.   Patsy does fantastic on a leash!  Walks right with you and no pulling. Activity Level | Low key.  My favorite is when we first go out and she runs the perimeter of the yard nose to the ground. Health Notes | Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | This little cutie patootie is a sweet, affectionate little girl that loves to snuggle and give kisses.  So far foster mom has noticed her ability to be independent in play and general day to day, but also loves to be near you also.  She can be somewhat timid and shy at first, but warms up quickly.  Although she is quite a bit smaller than her brother from the same litter, she can hold her own and give back as good as she gets. Story | Gemma was surrendered, along with 10 other siblings from the same litter, to a shelter by a breeder after he became injured and no longer able to care for the puppies.   Other Dogs | Gemma is great with other dogs.  She currently lives with her brother from the same litter, as well as two older foster sisters.   Her older foster sisters are not big fans of puppies, but she approaches slowly and cautiously, and definitely leaves them alone if they are not up for play.   Cats | She has seen the foster's cat once or twice, but seemed completely uninterested so far.   Children | She's a puppy, so she probably does well with children, although foster does not have young children at home.  She is young and in the chewing/biting/teething phase, so that is important to note. Training | Working on potty training, but she's still very young.  UPDATE: She only had one accident today! She's so close! However..she is a rock star in the crate at night.  Her and her brother share a crate right now, and they go 4 hours at night without accidents!!   Amazing for such a young age!  She may whimper a very short amount when placed in the crate if she's not worn out or exhausted, but foster mom lays down next to the crate for a few minutes and she is happy with that, and falls asleep very fast! Leash |  Activity Level | Typical puppy....play hard for an hour or two, sleep for an hour or two.  Seems to be content playing with toys and her brother, isn't into stuff she shouldn't be yet.   Health Notes | Healthy, happy puppy! Thank you! Personality | Jared is a rough and tumble rascal.  He plays hard, wrestles hard, is curious and fearless.  Despite all of his roughness, Jared is the sweetest, eager to please boy with a sweet and gentle soul.  He will walk up to you, sit at your feet and look up at you, waiting to be picked up.  He loves to be picked up and snuggled, will give lots of kisses.  In short time, he wants back down to play.  He does well playing with his sister.  Although he can be very rough with her, she gives back to him what he dishes out.      Story | Jared, along with his 10 siblings, were surrendered to a shelter in Texas by a breeder when he became injured and no longer able to care for them. Other Dogs | Jared does really well with other dogs.  He will play rough and hard, but understands when the older foster sisters tell him they aren't interested in playing. Cats | He has seen the foster's cat, but wasn't interested in chasing her or following her. Children | Foster does not have young children in the home.  It is important to note that he is at the puppy stage with biting/teething/chewing.   Training | Jared is doing better than his sister with potty training, however he is very young and will need more time to learn bladder control and potty training.  UPDATE:  He is so close! We only had one accident yesterday!!  He has started to go to the door and whine when he needs to go outside. He is a ROCK STAR in the crate at night!  He sleeps with his sister in a crate at night, and they go 4-5 hours without accidents, which is amazing for this age!  He whines some being placed into the crate if he isn't worn out or exhausted, so foster mom lays down by the crate for a few minutes and he settles and falls asleep quickly. Jared seems to have an amazing nose, and is extremely treat/food motivated.  He will defintely be easy to train.   Leash |  Activity Level | Typical puppy....plays hard for an hour or two, sleeps hard for an hour or two.  When he's playing he is all out, rough and tumble, energetic.   Health Notes | Healthy happy puppy! General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Pennie is a sweetheart! She would sit by you all day and happily receive pets from you! Or lounge in a bed while you work. She is very curious so best to put up anything (aka shoes) out of her reach. She LOVES to take all the bones out of the toy basket and bring them to the dog bed so she can chew on all of them. Story | Pennie was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Houston, Texas Other Dogs | Pennie is good with other dogs and is respectful of other dogs. She was noticed by our rescue sitting calmly in her cage as other dogs were being walked by her. She gets really excited seeing dogs on walks and loves to zoomie with the resident dog. Cats | Has shown playful interest in the neighbor's kitten. Children |  Training | Pennie needs to be coaxed into the crate but she sleeps in the crate through the night making no peeps. Has done great with being left in the crate while the foster has been gone. She knows sit and likes to lay down and roll onto her back for belly rubs. Now that the worst of the UTI (see health notes) has cleared up, Pennie hasn't had any accidents inside and is potty trained. She rings the bells if she needs to go out and will sometimes ring them to just see if there is any squirrels outside. Leash |  Activity Level |  Health Notes | Pennie ended up with a UTI right before transport and has been on medicine to help clear that up. Could have been part of having accidents inside when she first arrived in Denver. After a week of the medicine she has been going potty on walks and not having accidents inside! General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Buddy is a super sweet puppy who loves toys! He likes to cuddle up next to you with a chew toy! He is a smaller guy (~20lbs) and likely won't get too much bigger since he's already 6 months old. He loves to be right next to you (or on you) and will follow you from room to room. He loves everyone he meets! Story | He was pulled from a high kill shelter. The staff at the shelter loved him! Other Dogs | Good with other dogs. He is fostered with an older lab and has been good at picking up on social cues when the older dog wants to be left alone. He loves his foster brother and will follow him around outside. He also loves to play with other dogs, especially ones that are close in size to him! He went to the dog park and was a little shy/scared of the big dogs! He would hide behind his foster moms leg when they came up to him. He came out of his shell with a little bit more time and has been great with his 70 lb foster brother! Cats | He is fostered with a cat. He is doing very well with the cat now after initially trying to chase him!  Children | Buddy loves children! He met lots of children at a MHLM event and gave them all lots of cuddles and kisses! Training | Typical for a puppy. He mostly sticks to his toys, but will occasionally try to chew things he isn't supposed to. He knows "no" and responds well to the command. He is mostly potty trained and sleeps in a crate through the night. He will cry in the crate if he can see you, but seems to stay quiet when you leave the house for a few hours. He loves food and is very treat motivated. He will go right into the crate for a treat without complaining! He does well on car rides as well.  Leash | Good on a leash for his age. He does get excited and tries to hop around, but he's a smaller guy so easy to control. He loves to find the biggest stick he can find and carry it around on the walk! Activity Level | Typical for a puppy. He is good at entertaining himself with chew toys. He can occupy himself with toys for an hour or two and then plops down for a nap! He enjoys napping on top of the humans if they let him! Health Notes |  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. General Notes | YOSHI! He is such a snuggler! Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Yoshi is a gem, with a heart of gold! He was the most social of all 7 that arrived. He loves people and dogs and knows that he is happiest when he is touching a human or a dog. He is content to lay in the corner of the play pen while his brothers and sisters wrestle, but also the first to come when called because he loves the affection. His tail is always wagging! He is a happy boy, ready to be someone's best bud! Story | Yoshi and his 6 siblings were rescues from a shelter in Texas.  Other Dogs | Yoshi loves his kind and has no fear of hanging with the big dogs Cats | Yoshi would probably be very respectful of cat, especially if the cat has been around dogs. He would definitely follow instructions and rules given by a cat.  Children | Yoshi loves his little people! Their energy levels match and their enjoyment for life and running around is about equal. Training | Yoshi is a qucik learner and is already picking up that jumping on tall or small humans is not acceptable, and sitting is preferred. Yoshi is very food motivated, so will be easy to train. Yoshi is picking up potty-training quickly. Yoshi does great in his crate. He will whine for the first couple of minutes but then quiets down and will sleep through the night for 7-8hrs without a peep.  Leash | Yoshi is doing really good on a slip lead or a harness and happy to bounce along beside you on a walk. He is fine with cars passing by, but will stop and watch if a human is walking by, but does not bark or lunge.  Activity Level | Puppy play time! Yoshi has a lot of energy first thing in the morning and will happily chase toys, chase the resident dog, and wrestle with his sister. After about two hours of play in the morning he is much calmer throughout the day with frequent naps.  Health Notes | Yoshi has a clean bill of health; up to date on vaccines and heartworm prevention.  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age.
