Dyson, affectionately named this because of his proclivity to pick up anything on the ground, is as adorable and loving as he is energetic! 🐾 He is young and needs direction but these are the dogs that we see turn out to be studs for our more outdoorsy adopters who need a running, hiking or camping buddy! 🎾 Dyson loves his foster mom’s lab and loves chasing a ball. He gets walked in the morning, then worked in a field then walked in the evening and still has energy to burn even when playing all day with the resident pup! 🐾 Dyson would be a great companion for another dog who might have just lost a friend!  🐕‍🦺 Though he needs correction on a leash, his current foster feels he’s coming along well with his training. All Dyson needs is some structure, patience and someone who will continue with his training.  🎾 Because he’s still a pup (and the dog version of the energizer bunny) he’ll do best with older kids who can throw a tennis ball for him or take him on a run. That said, he loves littles.  🖤 Dyson is such a pleaser, he needs to have someone around during the day! He will be at your side and ready for any adventure you can come up with because he’s not a fan of sitting inside alone all day and might let you hear it. Need a dog that can keep up?! Dyson is your guy!!! 🐾 If you are already an approved adopter and want to meet or adopt Dyson, please contact your adoption coordinator.  Or you can fill out an application at mhlrm.com           Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age.   Who can resist a dog with an endearing name [and personality] like Care Bear??    🐾 He is a well mannered 5 year old boy! Happy to meet new people and does not show his excitement by jumping.    🐾 Care Bear is great around other dogs and children. Cats are unknown at this time.    🏠 Described as the perfect house guest! Zero accidents and barks to be let out. He isn’t a huge fan of the crate but will go in. He’s been left to free roam while his foster was away for a few hours and nothing was out of place. He sleeps in a chair at night - there’s a dog bed available but he still prefers the chair. We have a photo to demonstrate 🙃   🐕‍🦺 Care Bear is great on a leash. He knows not to pull and is polite to other dogs out on walks.   🐾 It is clear he’s been very well trained. Knows sit and shake and doesn’t counter surf.    🎾 His activity level would be described as moderate. He is happy to go for a walk or chase a ball in the back yard.    Care Bear will be arriving to Colorado on Sunday and is looking for his family ❤️   🐾 If you are already an approved adopter and want to meet or adopt Care Bear, please contact your adoption coordinator. Or you can fill out an application at mhlrm.com     General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.       Adoption Donations | Puppies to 1 year - $425, 1-6 years - $375, 7-10 years - $325, and 11+ years - $175. General Notes    Henry has a heart as big as his paws! He still has puppy energy but also is a power nap per. He is a wonderful hiking/walking buddy who is friendly with all dogs and people he meets and stays close. He sleeps soundly through the night; his favorite spot snuggled close to you often with his long limbs wrapped around you. He does love and need walks and exercise being a young lab but then will relax with his toys in the house. He will rest quietly in his crate for a few hours when I leave to run errands. We are working on basic commands. Henry's a quick learner and, true to his lab roots, very food motivated. Henry is being fostered near Ridgway, Colorado. Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Health Notes | Healthy. Initially his skin was quite dry but good nutrition and supplements has greatly improved his coat and skin.   Other Dogs | Friendly and playful. Will respect and back off if a dog tells him they don't want to play Cats | Limited exposure but those he has seen, just wants to play. Did not show aggression.  Children | not tested Training | Will come when called 90% of the time. With treats, 100% recall Leash | Very good with his harness/leash but will lunge if he sees another pup he wants to play with Activity Level | moderate Personality | sweet, kind, with a touch of puppy sass Story | Henry was found as a stray in Houston Texas in late July 2022 and was taken in by BARC Animal Shelter in Houston. General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Dixie is a perfect dog! She has such a sweet disposition. Loves other dogs and loves people and children. Eagerly waits for kids to wake up in the morning and is  great snuggler/ kid pillow. She rarely barks. She is happy to play- still has lots of puppy energy, or will happly curl up by your side to rest too. I have seen no aggression or anxiety of any kind with her- her tail is always waggy and she is a total sweetheart. Sleeps all night in a crate and is fully crate trained.  She is nearly 100% house trained. We have been working hard with her as she was not house trained initially. She has not had any recent accidents and will usually whine or wait by the back door to go outside, but I also still take her out several times during the day to be sure she won't have an accident. . She still needs some loving reinforcement with potty training, but she is nearly trained at this point. Health Notes |  Other Dogs  She is a great playmate at the dogpark and has met many dogs in the neighborhood and on walks. She has never been growly or aggressive. Everyone is a friend to this girl. Cats | She is excited around cats and wants to chase. If the cat will not be chased, Dixie settles right down. Children  loves kids. Due to her size and high energy level, she may do better in a home with older kids (older than 6+). Her foster home has a 6 year old and Dixie does great with him.  Training Dixie learned potty training quickly and is nearly 100% house trained- she just needs a little more reinforcement. . Learned "sit" in about one day. She is such a smart girl and wants to please! Just needs some time from a patient owner to work on some more doggy basics. Leash | still practicing. Is excited on the leash but not aggressive. Still needs reinforcement to walk without pulling or running. Activity Level  high Personality | sweet, goofy, friendly. High energy. Loves to play! Very loyal, loves foster mom and follows her around the house. Story | Arrived from a shelter in Texas without any information about her story! She has had puppies not too long ago, but was spayed at Animal Control in TX at the end of June. She was not house trained initially, but after a lot of consistency from foster family, is nearly 100% trained- just needs a bit more reinforcement.  In her past, she does not appear to have had much/any training in  basic doggy  manners but she is so eager to learn and please. She is learning quickly with training from her foster family. Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Health Notes | Has some patchy fur especially on face and hind legs, guessing it will heal in time now that she has no fleas and ticks. In process of deworming. Good body condition, good teeth, good energy. Other Dogs | LOVES my Calvin after being terrified of him the first 24 hours.  May need gentle introductions. I have only had her 48 hours at this time. Cats | unknown Children | seems to love them, pulls toward them with tail wagging when we see them out on our walks. Training | Doesn't appear to know her name or any commands but responds to whistling and negative noises like  uh uh or one sharp hand clap. Leash | Doesn't pull, wanders, winds around, could use some training on this. Activity Level | Was exhausted for 24 hours (of course!) and now becoming a super sweet, happy, tail wagging playful honey. She will settle in a crate without complaint and is ready to play and party when allowed out. Personality | LOVES LOVES LOVES PEOPLE! A little bit of a fainting goat - sees me, falls on her back for belly rubs. Follows me around the house. Pulls toward people in a friendly way on walks. Seems afraid of cars, Not sure about prey drive yet (only had her for 48 hours). Sometimes she wants to chase a bunny, sometimes, with a verbal command she will ignore it. Loves to snuggle. Invites herself on the furniture (I'm ok with that). More to come as I get to know her more. Story | From a Texas shelter. More than that is not clear. Was told she was an owner surrender with 8 puppies but I think that they mixed up dogs when that was written. She does NOT appear to have had puppies, and her coat tells a story of her hosting fleas and ticks, but does have good body condition so maybe not a stray. Basically, we don't really know! Health Notes | Healthy... no issues.  Other Dogs | She is super sweet to our other lab, regularly seeking him out for snuggles. Unfortunately, he's been a bit of a grump, but she seems undeterred.  Cats | Unsure Children | She's wonderful with our kids. Does nibble a little bit (as all puppies do!), but otherwise does excellent.   Training | She's still a little one, so training needed. But, she does seem to pick up on things quickly. Also, she is doing quite well with the crate. The first night, she whined for a few minutes, but then slept for 8 hours without a peep! Leash | Unsure Activity Level | In the short time she has been with us, she has been pretty low energy mixed in with short bouts of puppy energy. Of course, it has been a big couple days for her, so I would expect she may have more energy in the coming days.  Personality | She's the sweetest little thing. I'm sure she is going to make an amazing addition to someone's home! Story | She came to Colorado from Texas with her brother and sisters, but other than that, unknown.  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age.
