General Notes | Want to adopt this dog? Please do not email us. Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP. Health Notes | Has some patchy fur especially on face and hind legs, guessing it will heal in time now that she has no fleas and ticks. In process of deworming. Good body condition, good teeth, good energy. Other Dogs | LOVES my Calvin after being terrified of him the first 24 hours. May need gentle introductions. I have only had her 48 hours at this time. Cats | unknown Children | seems to love them, pulls toward them with tail wagging when we see them out on our walks. Training | Doesn't appear to know her name or any commands but responds to whistling and negative noises like uh uh or one sharp hand clap. Leash | Doesn't pull, wanders, winds around, could use some training on this. Activity Level | Was exhausted for 24 hours (of course!) and now becoming a super sweet, happy, tail wagging playful honey. She will settle in a crate without complaint and is ready to play and party when allowed out. Personality | LOVES LOVES LOVES PEOPLE! A little bit of a fainting goat - sees me, falls on her back for belly rubs. Follows me around the house. Pulls toward people in a friendly way on walks. Seems afraid of cars, Not sure about prey drive yet (only had her for 48 hours). Sometimes she wants to chase a bunny, sometimes, with a verbal command she will ignore it. Loves to snuggle. Invites herself on the furniture (I'm ok with that). More to come as I get to know her more. Story | From a Texas shelter. More than that is not clear. Was told she was an owner surrender with 8 puppies but I think that they mixed up dogs when that was written. She does NOT appear to have had puppies, and her coat tells a story of her hosting fleas and ticks, but does have good body condition so maybe not a stray. Basically, we don't really know! Thank you! | Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $475. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $700 per dog). Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet & greets by appointment to approved applicants only. To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. Please know | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page! We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved. Your application is good for 90 days from the time of approval for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle.
