General Notes | Looking for a best friend, a partner in crime? Look no further, Rhett is your boy!  Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Health Notes | Rhett is in good health, up to date on all vaccines and neutered. He has a very muscular build and is a perfect weight for his age and breed.  Other Dogs | Rhett gets along great with other dogs, but prefers chasing balls. He would do fine in a home with or without dogs. He is happy to meet other dogs, always wagging his tail, never barks at other dogs, he has zero food or toy aggression and is happy to share with his foster dog.  Cats | unknown Children | Rhett is great with children. He currently lives with a 4 and 6 year old human siblings and has not once jumped on them or knocked them over. He has no fear of their loud noises or unpredictable movements. He does not try and take anything out of their hands and will lay patiently and let them cover him with a blanket. He loves to play tug-of-war his human siblings.  Training | Rhett could benefit from some consistent training. He is a very quick learner and very food motivated. He learned how to go up and down stairs and the 'sit' command within his first 24 hours. He has learned how to jump in and out of the car and is working hard on the 'stay' command. He is very food motivated and therefor easy to train.  Leash | Rhett loves to go for walks, but does need some training on the leash. He does not pull but likes to zig zag and smell everything.  Activity Level | Rhett has puppy energy! He is very excited in the mornings. If he has enough activity in the morning, by the afternoon he is happy to take a nap. He loves to chase any toy you throw and is so speedy to retrieve it. He will chase for as long as you want to throw. He is working on hard and returning it and dropping it at your feet and has already made so much improvement. He loves water and his foster mom thinks he will be a great swimmer. He sleeps all night in his crate without a peep and patiently waits for you to wake up in the morning to let him out, usually about 8 hours total.  Personality | Rhett is a happy, tail-wagging boy who loves his people. He is happy to please everyone and meet everyone. He loves to be around humans and will make a great companion. In just one week of being in his foster home he become less dependent on the humans. He will now lay and sleep on the ottoman by himself while his humans relax on the couch.  Story | Rhett came from a breeder surrender in Oklahoma. He has lived his whole life in a kennel facility so he is loving having a safe warm house with dog beds.  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. General Notes | The perfect mix of gentle and goofy describes our adorable Johnny! If you are looking for a buddy to explore Colorado with, look no further!  Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Health Notes | Johnny has completed heartworm treatment and is recoverying well!  Other Dogs | I haven't had to share space in my home, but I have enjoyed playing with other dogs! Check out my video at the dog park 😊 Cats | I haven't been tested with cats yet, but I've seen some out on walks and have not even barked! Children | I am very gentle so would likely be fine with kids, but I am a big boy and sometimes I forget how large I am! Training | I am potty trained and a great sitter! I'm still working on other tricks but usually come when called. I am not always food motivated for basic treats, but I'm receptive to training with the good stuff (cheese, meat, yum!). I don't like being put in my crate and will cry/bark for a bit, but I settle down! I'd rather just stay with you (I even do great in the car!). Leash | Johnny is getting better on the leash every day. He enjoys going on walks. Personality | I am the perfect mix of gentle and goofy. My foster mom works from home so I have not had to spend much time alone. I like to sleep and play with my toys during the day and am always happy to get some time to run around in the yard or take walks. I'm still exploring the world around me so expect lots of cute head tilts as I hear new sounds and see new things for the first time! Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Puppies to 1 year - $425, 1-6 years - $375, 7-10 years - $325, and 11+ years - $175. Purebreds are $475 regardless of age. General Notes | Tortilla is a quiet, calm, and exceptionally loving pooch who would make an easy addition to any family. She seeks connection with all humans and is gentle, affectionate, and relaxed around kiddos of all ages. She is accepting and deferential to other dogs, but not especially playful. This easy-going lady is going to be the perfect addition to your family!    Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Health Notes | Tortilla is heartworm positive. MHLRM will cover the expense of treatment with one of our approved veterinarians. Heartworm positive dogs go on to live happy, normal lives after treatment and rarely experience long-term side effects. He takes his medicine with food no problem. Don't let this stop you from adopting Tortilla!  Other Dogs | Dog Tolerant. Tortilla lives with another dog in her foster home. She enjoys the company of other dogs but doesn't initiate play with them. She hasn't shown any food or toy aggression.  Cats | Unknown. Does display a lot of interest in squirrels and other small animals.  Children | Loves kiddos of all ages. Tortilla's human foster sisters are six and two and she loves getting lots of attention from them. She regularly attends her foster sister's soccer games and loves getting hugs and pets from the whole team. Tortilla loves giving kisses and is very calm and doesn't jump or knock little kids over. Training | Tortilla doesn't know any commands yet, but she's eager to please and will surely pick up on the basics quickly.  Leash | Tortilla is very well-behaved on the leash. She doesn't pull, she stays on the sidewalk, and she doesn't get easily distracted. Tortilla does seem like an escape artist, so it's best to work on some training before testing her off-leash or giving her unsupervised time in your yard.  Activity Level | While Tortilla doesn't have 'bouncing off the walls' energy, she IS a young dog and does require daily exercise to stay healthy and happy. She's incredibly athletic and can jump quite high. She would do best in a home that can give her an outlet for this energy and athleticism. When bored, Tortilla does like to chew (on toys or anything else that looks interesting!) so it's best to offer her a variety of dog-friendly activities to occupy her at home. Her favorite toys are soft, squeaky ones and she does enjoy playing fetch.   Personality | VERY sweet. VERY easygoing. She is calm amid chaos. All she wants is connection with her humans.  A Few Other Notes |  Tortilla is comfortable in her kennel and does not bark or whine when left alone.  Tortilla does well on car rides, but she DOES want to be in your lap so it's best to safely restrain her in a kennel or harness.  Tortilla is not food motivated. She can be quite shy with food and won't always accept treats unless she's feeling very comfortable.  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $475. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $700 per dog). General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Health Notes | Huck seems in great health condition!  Other Dogs | Great with other dogs. Not afraid to play and backs off if they play too hard. He also isn't constantly in their face. Cats |  Children |  Training | Huck is learning! He's getting "sit" down quickly, and generally listens. He doesn't chew on things and comes when calls. He's a smart one. Leash | He pulls a bit but nothing too crazy. Doesn't bark at other dogs. Activity Level | Energetic! He was full of energy at first, but once he settled into his space he's calmed down. A good walk or ball throw wears him out. Personality | Huck is a lover! Constantly by my feet, loves pets. The epitome of a happy pup.  Story | I don't know too much about Huck's background, but when he came to us, he was scared, but happy. He was a bit wild the first day, but then we discovered he was completely infested with fleas. We gave him a long bath and flea medication, and after that he completely turned the corner. He was so sweet during his bath and trusting and now is calmer, happy and healthy! A smart dog to make anyone's family better. He also has a gorgeous white/ yellow coat (mostly white)! Check out his cute cow paws. Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age.
