Yacolt / Lilah

Female Puppy Labrador Retriever Great Pyrenees (mixed) 40 Large

General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Lilah is a goofy, floppy, bouncy love bug!  She adores attention and will gently give kisses if prompted.  Lilah thrives being around people and other dogs and will become your shadow as you move throughout the house.  Although she is only 4 months, she does NOT have the typical puppy energy, and is genuinely content laying at your feet or laying on the couch beside you.  She gets occasional bursts of playful energy, especially first thing in the morning, or after dinner, but they are short and her attention span is even shorter.   Lilah is still very clumsy, and falls over herself regularly.  When she does get excited, she will "scooby doo" her way across a hard surface floor, sometimes crashing into things.   Story | Lilah was found as a stray in Texas, subsequently spending several weeks at a shelter until Mile High was able to spring her out and get her into foster care.  Nothing else is really known.  She didn't seem to know much about toys or what to do with them, which may explain her short attention span with them.   Other Dogs | Lilah loves other dogs.  She will watch her foster sisters intently for clues on what to do with toys, bones, cows, and other things that are new to her.  Although she attempts to play with them, her foster sisters are older ladies and don't care to play much.  Lilah's foster mom loves that Lilah takes silent cues easily from them and won't push them to play when they are not interested.  She is not a pushy puppy at all. Cats | Lilah's foster family has one 20 year old cat, which Lilah ignores and seems uninterested in getting to know.  Could be that the grumpy old lady hisses at her.  Lilah also seems to be uninterested in the cows at her foster home, never barks at them or runs up to them.   Children | There isn't a human or animal around that Lilah wouldn't love.  She's incredibly gentle and sweet. Training | Lilah is almost a blank slate in terms of training.  She seems to know that sitting politely gets her what she wants, and will sit on command if you're holding a treat.  Since being in her foster home, Lilah has only had 2 accidents.  Both were by the door, on her first and second day.  She seems to be potty trained and just needs to work out where her exit door is and how to let her people know to open it.  Foster mom and dad are currently working on training her to use the dog door.  Lilah is most likely crate trained due to her time at the shelter, and will willingly go into her crate with a treat.  She did make a fuss when the door was closed on her first night.  Since foster siblings sleep freely, foster mom and dad have decided to allow her to sleep freely as well and she does perfectly.  No accidents at night, sleeps like a dream.  She has recently discovered she loves sleeping in bed with the rest of the gang. Leash | Lilah seems great on a leash.  She is not the overly excited type of puppy, so leash walking does not involve pulling at all.  She will casually stroll alongside you leashed.   Activity Level | Activity level is surprisingly low for her age.  She has 15 acres to explore at her foster home, and rarely gets above a trot.  She will spring into action when she's trying to catch up to her foster sisters, but otherwise she's content with a casual stroll.  Indoors she gets playful in the mornings and evenings in the living room with her foster family and foster siblings, but it is short-lived.   Health Notes | Lilah is very healthy and happy despite being very thin.  Nothing a regular eating schedule can't fix.  She has not experienced any car sickness during her car rides, and she has tolerated her food change from the shelter to foster care very well.  Foster mom hopes she develops some muscles in her back legs soon so she will quit sliding and tripping over her giant flipper feet. Thank you! |  Adoption Donations |  Our adoption donations are $475 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $425 for 1-6 years, $375 for dogs 7-10 years, and $250 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $525. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $700 per dog). General Notes | Want to adopt this super sweeg and amazing puppy dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Eric is an incredibly gentle, sweet, sensitive soul.  He recently attended a MHLRM event and loved the attention he was getting from all the humans and other dogs!  He greeted everyone in a nice polite manner - he even layed down to have a much loved belly rub!   He is such a gem of a puppy.  Calm and sweet!  He is easy going and just happy to be around his people.  Not afraid of loud noises or movement.   Honestly, for a puppy is super cool! Story | Eric was found abandonded with a couple smaller puppies.   Other Dogs | Great with other dogs Cats | No experience in foster home.   He is so gentle that it would be a surprise if he couldn't figure out they are freinds.   Children | With his previous foster, Eric interacted with a group of 7 children ranging in age from 2-10 and he loved watching them play and getting all the attention they gave him.  At a recent public event, he became the favorite of a little 8 year old boy with Downs.  They really took to each other and Eric was so gentle. Training |  Eric is 100% house trained and sleeps in his bed all night.  He also walks very nicely on the leash.  Put this boy in a car and he rides like a pro - he loves looking out the window! He is learning basic obedience skills from his foster, like sit and down.   He loves treats and wants so much to please his people -  he will do great in learning new skills. Eric's foster is working with him on being comfortable in his crate and being left alone.  Who knows, maybe a crate isn't his gig.  Maybe a baby-gate keeping him in a comfortable room is his sweet spot.  While he is working on overcoming his dislike of being left alone, apartment life is probably not his first choice (only because he can be vocal when left in a crate).  We have tips and tricks we can proivde his forever family on how to work a dog out of separation anxiety.   Leash | Eric is doing well on leash walks - for the most part he walks behind the walker and doesn't react to much street action.   Activity Level | Eric is a very mellow, relaxed guy.  He is starting to show a few more bursts of energy and initiating play with his older foster brother, but still mostly happy to be comfortable inside on his dog bed.  He is not resistant to going outside, but does prefer being in the vicinity of his people.  Health Notes | Healthy! Eric is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm NEGATIVE! Thank you! |  Adoption Donations |  Our adoption donations are $475 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $425 for 1-6 years, $375 for dogs 7-10 years, and $250 for 11+ years of age. General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Clancy is an incredibly loving pup. He would like nothing more than to be by your side! He will follow you around sweetly and settle in next to you. He has potential to make a great therapy dog because of his calm demeanor in public. He came from a breeder surrender along with several littermates and arrived in Colorado in early September. He is a classic lab puppy - loves water, food, toys and play.  Health Notes | No health concerns Other Dogs | Clancy gets along great with our dog. He likes to play with him, rest alongside him, and does not display any food aggression. When he sees other dogs on walks he sits down and watches them go by. Cats | Not tested yet Children | Not tested yet but Clancy is young and should socialize well with kids as he is still in the maleable development stage. Training | We are working on crate training and potty training as our first priorities. He has not had any accidents in the house yet but we have been diligent with potty breaks. He is sleeping through the night (8+ hours) in his crate in the hallway by our bedroom and will hang out quietly in the crate when we wakes up in the morning. We started working on some basic obedience commands and he learned "sit" in one evening! (Smart boy!) Leash | For only being four months old, Clancy is fantastic at walking on the leash! General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Lucy is the perfect dog! Foster mom says she'll fit in with any family that loves big, happy Labradors.  Story | Lucy was found as a stray in rural Texas. No one came to the shelter to claim her. Other Dogs | Lucy is great with other dogs. She currently lives with two other Labs and loves them! Cats | Unknown. Children | Wonderful! Lucy is so sweet with everyone she meets.  Training | Lucy knows basic commands and appears to have been trained at some point. She understands the house rules like no counter surfing, pottying outside and sleeping in a crate. Leash | She does not mind walking on leash but could use more practice with the heal command. She gets excited to greet others! Activity Level | Medium-high. Lucy is still a young lab and requires regular exercise and stimulation. She really enjoys walks, fetch and playing in the water. She understands when it is time to chill out and lay around with the family.  Health Notes | Lucy is heartworm positive, but treatment is very successful and completely manageable with all the proper education. MHLRM will cover the expense of treatment at one of our approved veterinarians. Heartworm positive dogs go on to live happy, normal lives after treatment and rarely experience long-term side effects. General Notes | Roxie came from rural Missouri with her sisters and some male pups from another litter. She has adjusted well to living in a home and loves to perch herself on the couch pillows. Roxie is smart and is catching on quickly to new commands and potty training. She has gone to a couple of breweries and will make a great patio companion! She greets everyone with kisses - children, adults, and other dogs! Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.     Health Notes |  Other Dogs | Loves being around other dogs and wants to say hi to every dog she meets. Roxie is working on winning the love of the resident dog and has done well with the boundaries he is setting.  Cats | Roxie seemed indifferent when meeting the neighbor's cat. She eventually tried to play with the cat because the resident dog was and respected the cat's boundaries. Children | Roxie met various age children at a fundraising event and was so happy to meet them all. Loves to give them kisses! Training | Working on potty training. Does well with going to the bathroom outside if you keep her on a schedule. Took a moment to settle in the crate the first night (was her first time without her siblings) and only woke up to go potty. Roxie is a curious pup and wants to investigate everything inside but is great being redirected with a bone.  Leash | Roxie loves going for walks! She is very interested in all the sights and sounds. Wasn't scared of the loud noises in the neighborhood. Like a typical puppy she will pick things up on walks but drops it when you tell her to. Activity Level | Typical puppy - enjoys playing and chewing on bones and then curling up and napping. She loves being cuddled.  Personality | Roxie is a sweetheart who wants to cuddle but likes to show her spunky side from time to time Story | Roxie came from a breeder situation in rural Missouri with her sisters and some male pups from another litter.Thank you! Health Notes | healthy! Beautiful shiny black coat.  Other Dogs | no others to test with at foster, but since he lived with multiple other dogs, it is safe to assume he does great with other dogs. Cats | unknown, but seems like he would be easy going Children | He was instantly infatuated with foster family's two children (ages 5 and 8). He loves to follow them around and get lots of love from them. Training | Will be quick to train - so far, no accidents in the house, slept in his crate all night. Did bark in crate when left alone for a short time, but then laid down and went to sleep. Loves treats, so will pick up obedience and tricks in no time! Sat for foster mom in the tub for his bath and getting his ears cleaned. Also rode like a dream in the car from his pick up.  Leash | was a bit timid on the leash at first, but came right around to walking on the leash. Naturally wants to heel with you and has great eye contact during short walks so far. Activity Level | pretty low activity for a pup this young, but his puppy personality is slowly coming out and he's getting more playful and curious. Definitely likes his naps throughout the day and slept well all night in his crate.  Personality | super loving. Your shadow pup - he wants to be wherever the action is. Was a bit shy at first, but he's seeking affection from his foster family within the first few hours and will be a wonderful pet for any family.  Story | rescued from a breeder in Missouri as an "emergency" along with several other puppies. Doesn't seem to have been in a house before, as all noises and smells are new, but he is adapting very quickly to all the changes and is loving having a dog bed to call his own (though he will gladly sleep on the floor if it means he can be as close to you as possible).  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations |  Our adoption donations are $475 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $425 for 1-6 years, $375 for dogs 7-10 years, and $250 for 11+ years of age.
