Tucker likes to sneak out when I am out of site. Feeding at 5:00 pm: 1.5-2 cups of Adult Pedigree dry food. Back inside for the night in crate by 11:00 pm for the night. Feeding routine with a slow feeder bowl: Dog is put on "place" (a mat or cot or bed or designated spot), all 4 paws and elbows must stay on place. The word "Place" is the command. Dog food is gathered and bowl is set down in a specific spot. Dog must stay on place and look into human's eyes until the word "free" is given. "Free" is the command word that is used to be free or come off any command .. He eats very quickly and recently started to pee on his dish. "Heal"-to walk even with the person walking (We have not reinforced this very much since we have not been able to leash walk. They are supposed to walk beside you and when you stop the dog is to immediately sit down.) "Hush" -to stop whining or barking "Good" -for praise and showing a good job. "Kennel" -to tell them to go to their crate. (The trainers said this can be used for getting into the vehicle also but we do not have to tell them to do that I) Loves fetch and to be brushed unsure if likes water but will occasional get in the dog pool or water at the beach Does not like thunderstorms or fireworks. Does ok inside but not outside during these events show less

General Notes | Colt is a smart, fast learner who loves his treats. He's a gentle and happy boy, who loves comfy seating (couches), and being around his people. He loves playing with his stuffed animals and kicking back chewing on his antler and kong. He is potty trained and sleeps through the night.  Health Notes | Colt has an old leg injury that didn't heal correctly. As a result he would do best in a low-key environment. Walks are fine, but hiking, chasing the ball, and running can be painful for him. Other Dogs | Loves to play with other dogs! Cats |  Children | Very sweet and gentle with the foster's young children. He is aware of his space and is careful not to knock down the babies.  Training | He sleeps through the night without a peep! He's starting to learn that sitting and going into a down gets him treats, rather than sticking his face in your food. He's food motivated and learns quickly! Leash | Colt is good on a leash! He pulls every now and then because he wants to sniff a thing, but it's not often. He's fine with city noises, cars passing him, etc. Sometimes he stops almost hopefully when we pass a person, seeming to want to say hello! Activity Level | He's great about adjusting his activity level based on what you want to do! He's equally down for a long walk in the neighborhood but also can entertain himself indoors with toys and appropriate things to chew on if you need him to chill. Colt has an old leg injury that didn't heal correctly. He would do best in a low-key environment. Walks are fine, but hiking, chasing the ball, and running can be painful for him.     Personality | Colt is just a happy, goofy boy who loves love. Loves toys and playing (with or without other dogs), always down for a walk or an adventure, but he's able to settle and chill when you need him to as well. Story |  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Health Notes |  Other Dogs |  He is very playful with other dogs and has had no problems so far! Cats | I have never seen him with cats, so not sure. Children | I do not have any children, so I can't be certain, but he is quite playful and has a lot of puppy energy, so older children may be better as he does get excited and jump at times (but not often). Training |  He has "sit" down and we are working on leave it and down. He has had a couple of potty accidents, but for the most part seems to know to go outside. Kennel behavior is yet to be determined. He is pretty food motivated- he just gets really excited with food and sometimes has a hard time focusing when he is excited. He has not displayed any signs of food aggression.  Leash |  He definitely needs some leash training as he was a stray previously. He will need an adopter who is wiling to be patient with him and continue leash training. Activity Level | He gets really excited when there is another dog present. When he's home and I am working, he is fine to just relax at home.  Personality | This pup is such a love bug! He loves pets and will be your shadow once he gets comfortable with you. He seems to be a little cautious with people at first, but approach him slowly, let him warm up to you, and give him head scratches and he will love you in no time! He has playful puppy energy at times where it can be harder to get him to listen to you, but have not had any problems with him being destructive with furniture or anything like that. He really is a sweet, good boy!!! Health Notes |  Other Dogs | Annie loves to play with other dogs! She is very friendly and plays well with foster mom's 3 year old chocolate lab.  Cats |  Children | Annie met her foster parent's niece and nephew and LOVED them. She was very excited and playful with the kids. Training | Annie is mostly potty trained. She understands when it's time to go potty in the yard and has only had one accident in the house.  Leash | Annie does great on the leash for being a young pup! She likes to stop and sniff but doesn't pull on the leash and keeps up with her foster parents on walks. She stays close and calm when passing other dogs.  Activity Level | Like most puppies, Annie loves to run and play but then she naps hard. She has a very sweet disposition and plays gentle with her foster parents (she does not nip very much). She loves running around the yard with her foster mom's lab. She plays with her toys and loves little rawhides to sit and chew on.  Personality | Annie is a very sweet pup! She loves to play and also loves to snuggle. If she picks up something that she shouldn't have, it is very easy to take it away from her. She enjoys being in her crate and sleeps in her crate 8 hours a night. She knows how to sit and is learning "stay" and "come". She is doing a great job with potty training. Story | Annie was found in Texas and arrived in Colorado in September with her siblings who are also in foster homes.  Thank you! Health Notes | Hearworm positive but Mile High will pay for treatment at one of our vets.  Other Dogs | Wonderful with other dogs. Wags his tail straight away, gives a good sniff and lets the other dog do the same. Due to his age and wear and tear from his old life, he would be a good companion for another dog but isn't necessarily a "play" mate. He won't be playing fetch or other high energy games.  Cats |  Children | the children in his foster family loves him and are begging to keep him. We have an almost 2 year old who has taken to bringing Rocco blankets and tucking him in for "night nights" while he sleeps. He is such a deep sleeper that he doesn't wake, and just keeps soozing as she brings him all the soft things for a good nights sleep. He would be WONDERFUL in a family with young kids who want to shower a dog in love.  Training | In spite of being found in terrible shape on the side of a highway in Texas Rocco knows a few commands. He is happy, low key, loving and great with kids and other dogs.  Leash |  Activity Level | Low key. He'll follow you around, and he'll wag his tail with all his might, but he won't be requiring much more than a quick shuffle around the yard to do his business.  Personality  Loving and gentle. He's either wagging his tail or in a VERY deep sleep. He is the best work from home buddy - door bells, noises, amazon deliveries...nothing bothers this guy. He's happy to just be next to someone while he takes a good nap.  Story | Rocco was found on the side of the highway in dire condition. His finders rushed him to the vet and found that he was flea infested, heartworm positive, and very malnourished. The vet initially believed he was deaf but when his ear infections cleared up it became obvious that he could hear. He is still a little hard of hearing, but that may clear up as his health continues to improve.  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $475. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $600 per dog). Monty is fully housebroken, beautifully crate-trained (see the pic of him chilling in his crate with the door wide open!), is very submissive without being a push-over. He is confident and enthusiastic with an incredible desire to please. That desire to please, plus his young age, coupled with him being highly intelligent means that he will be a fantastic pup for pretty much any scenario: single person, a couple or a family with young children or other pets! I have an 18 1/2 yr-old kitty, but Monty is quite indifferent. He (now) walks well on a leash and is very willing to play in the yard or chew up a stick or curl up on the couch. He really likes being with humans, but has no kind of separation issues. All-in-all, he is very emotionally & physically well-adjusted. He will attach VERY easily with his new family... whatever that family looks like. Monty's foster mom teaches piano, voice & theatre lessons in her home (about 50-ish lessons/week), and Monty has been ever so gentle and loving with her students... even the very youngest ones. He quickly rolls over for belly rubs and loves giving kisses! He has been taught how to "sit", "come" when called, walk well on a leash and take treats gently. The two resident doggos have helped show him boundaries and rules... for which foster mom is SO grateful.  They are definitely her helpmates!   General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.     Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age.
