General Notes | Sunny is a little ray of sunshine. This sweet girl is cautious when meeting new people or in new situations, but quickly warms up and doesn't want to be left out of anything, she is happy to give kisses on hands and faces. She loves to be around people and other dogs, and will follow everyone around if they are moving through the house. She sleeps all night in her crate and will even go inside it during the day to rest as needed. No accidents inside the house and knows to go to the door when she needs to go out. She likes to be outside, and has gotten more adventurous in the backyard as she has gotten more comfortable in her foster home. She likes her foster dog brother so much that sometimes she doesn't know when he wants to be left alone, but she is quickly learning doggy social ques like when she needs to back off. Sunny doesn't seem to have a lot of experience walking on a leash, she doesn't pull, but she also doesn't seem to understand she is connected to something and tends to get tangled around mailboxes and lightposts. This girl is highly food motivated (she needs to gain a few more pounds), and is willing to learn for a treat. Absolutely loves kids, her two-legged foster brother is her favorite human in the house. Sunny will make a great addition to a home willing to help her come out of her shell and continue her training. Health Notes | Underweight. Other Dogs | Very good, loves them all! Excellent manners when meeting new doggy friends. Cats | Unknown Children | Great! Training | Working on basic commands like sit, off, come, leave it. Not fully mastered but she is catching on quickly. Leash | Needs some work. Doesn't pull, but also doesn't seem to really get that she is connected to something. Activity Level | Medium Personality | Sweet! Happy to sit in your lap and give kisses. Story | Rescued from a kill shelter in Roswell NM.  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Bandit/Buddy is such a sweet little guy!!!  He's eager to please, and he's learning the ropes.  He loves to play with toys and is just learning to eat from a kibble dispensing ball which is keeping him happy and occupied. He also loves when he's scatter fed in the grass, and my dog (MHLRM alum) loves to do clean up to be sure he didn't miss anything!  He loves new people, and he would be such a great hiking buddy, he LOVES an adventure and his walks!  Foster mom says he is great at keeping those pesky squirrels out of her garden which she really appreciates!! Foster mom had her all-positive dog trainer come over to see what we can work on, and she said he is just a delight!  He listens to his foster sister well, and he does a good job gathering information.  He's done so well on all our field trips!   Health Notes | Buddy is 100% healthy, heartworm negative, neutered and up-to-date on shots. Other Dogs | This boy is in daycare weekly and loves to interract. He is also a huge fan of his roommate, Olive (a MHLRM alum). He's content sleeping in the bedroom with Olive and his Mom and he just loves to be near people and dogs. Cats | No cats for this boy, he's never been around them. Current foster said that she is keeping her cat in a seperate room as he went after the cat Children | Buddy loves all humans. He is still learning not to jump to say hello, but with a little more training he will learn off very well and could be in a house with a family, easily. Training | This boy is still learning basic commands. He is really good freely roaming the house, but you'll need to make sure you teach him the best way to get out to do his business. He's been known to silently stare at the door when he's ready to go. He's very food motivated, so that helps a lot with training.   Leash | Using a harness, this pup walks like a gentleman on a leash. Activity Level | Buddy has the typical energy of a 1ish year old dog. He loves loves to play with dogs, he'd be a great running/hiking dog or a friend for another dog at home that needs to play.  Foster mom says he's a very supportive workout partner!  Personality | This lab mix is soooo sweet, he's such a lover.  Story Bandit/Buddy is super sweet.  He loves playing with toys and running after balls, and he alternates between busy/playing and resting/snoozing.  He slept throught the night his first night here which was very impressive considering he didn't arrive until just two hours before we went to bed. He loves being outside and sniffing all the different smells, and he gets along well with my 7 year old lab mix who is also from Mile High Lab Rescue Mission.  He does well with new people and really seems to want to please.  He has a block-y head like an English lab and is just adorable!! Health Notes |  Other Dogs | Rory LOVES other dogs - she wants to play with every dog she sees! Cats | unsure Children | unsure Training |  Leash | She does well on a leash! Activity Level | Once she is comfortable in a space, she has lots of energy and wants to run around and play! But she also will get tired out after playing and will put herself in her crate or bed to take a nap. Personality |  Story | Rory is a very sweet one-year-old dog who had a rough start at life. She, her littermates and their mom were abandoned in a field, so it's safe to guess she didn't have the best experience with people and was very afraid when she got to her first foster home, but adjusted very well. She was then adopted out but returned to us eight months later, unfortunately more fearful. In her new foster home, she has loved playing with the other dog there, and very quickly warmed up to the human too! She still can be a little afraid if the human moves too suddenly or walks near her with any sort of negative emotion, but she is very loving and wants to give kisses all the time! With the right humans who will let her warm up to them at her own pace, especially if there is another dog (or dogs!) in the home to help her continue to gain confidence, she will do great. She sleeps through the night in her kennel and will frequently go in it by herself for naps. She is potty trained and will usually go stand by the door to get let outside. She loves to go on walks too! Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $375 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $325 for 1-6 years, $275 for dogs 7-10 years, and $125 for 11+ years of age. General Notes | Olivia is an incredibly gentle, sweet pup who was friendly with everyone, including people, kids and dogs. She was happy to meet friends and family, multiple repairmen who came over, and people we met on walks. She loves giving kisses and getting her head rubbed.  She is very laid-back, moving around the house from one resting place to another.     She is also sure that every pup wants to play with her in her slightly-lumbering way. She thoroughly enjoyed running around and playing with her dog friends. She also enjoyed the dog toys. She is a pup and will chew, but is easily directed to Benebones and bully sticks, both of which she loves. She was also great with my nieces and nephews, all 9 and under. She was super sweet and gentle with my 11 month old niece, giving her kisses, letting her crawl all over her, and just lying next to her. She walked very well (better than my pup!). She walks right next to you, including with other dogs and a stroller. She enjoyed our long walks. However, particularly at first, she could be a little hesitant at times on walks, e.g., loud noises or crossing busy streets. After a day or two, this almost completely faded. She was still hesitant around very busy streets and unexpected loud noises like fire engines, but would happily keep walking with a little encouragement. Jogging would get her across any street. She also loves car rides!   She is house trained and quickly figured out how to use the dog door (mainly to get out of the Texas heat!) She is also crate trained. She slept through the night with no issue. She loves bully sticks and chicken jerky and ate very well. She also loves Pup Cups! She was not food aggressive at all and let my dog steal her jerky and bones with no reaction. She would make a wonderful addition to any family.     Health Notes | Happy & Healthy! General Notes | Sandy is a happy and sweet 18 m/o pup. She was a young momma who is ready to enjoy the carefree life of a loved pet! She was pretty shy when we first picked her up, but despite the initial nervousness she quickly befriended the resident rambunctious lab and is becoming more confident and comfortable every day. She is pretty petite (foster parents think she may be a terrier mix), so if you're looking for a pocket-sized dog with all the best qualities of a lab (sweet, well behaved, food motivated, happy-go-lucky), this is your girl! Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Health Notes |  Other Dogs | She loves her foster lab brother and likes playing with him all day long, she has also gained confidence by following his cues around the house. She is definitely curious about meeting other dogs and may be a little nervous at first, but her default is to be gentle and submissive rather than growl or be defensive. Cats | Don't know Children | Don't know, but she is playful and has a soft mouth so she'd probably enjoy playing with kiddos. Training | Fully potty trained and sleeps in her crate through the night. She is food motivated and we are working on basic commands. Leash | We've been walking her together with our other lab and she's made huge improvements over past couple of weeks. She is no longer nervous about loud noises or other dogs, but with her newfound confidence has started pulling a little (especially if she sees squirrels or wild bunnies), nothing that can't be fixed with a bit of training. Activity Level | Medium. She can be very chill and enjoys napping on the bed while her foster parents work, but is also a playful dog and will respond to play cues from people and dogs. She will also excitedly meet you with a wagging tail as soon as you walk through the door :) Personality | Very sweet! This girl is a little ray of sunshine. Story |  Thank you! Health Notes | This girl is completely healthy, she's had all of her shots and has been spayed and is heartworm negative.  Other Dogs | Maizey absolutely LOVES other dogs. She attends daycare daily with her foster mom and plays with everyone that will play back. She wrestles hard and loud, but understands social cues if another dog doesn't want to play with her. We have yet to find a mean bone in her body. She also does wonderfully at home playing with her foster sisters. She is not food or toy aggressive, and will happily play tug-of-war with anyone who will let her. Cats | Unknown Children | Unknown for sure, but would most likely be a great cuddle partner for older kid siblings. Depending on the family, she may need some training with boundaries because she would happily climb into anyone's lap who will let her. She does tend to jump when greeting adults, but she has not been introduced to any younger kids since being with Mile High. Training | She is very smart and seems food motivated enough for easy training. She is great with the basics, no, sit, leave it, wait. Once she gets a dedicated name, she'll need some work on basic recall. Her only flaw is she does bark when anything startles her, mostly new and loud noises, but they seem to be more guard dog reflexes rather than fear or aggression. She does wonderfully in a crate, although if she has exercise and energy releases throughout the day, she doesn't need to be kenneled. She is very happy sleeping through the night in your bed. She learned the dog door in about 5 minutes, but while rare, she will have an accident if she doesn't know how to get outside. Leash | She is like any lab, will sniff and pull when she's walking but nothing excessive and she responds to training very quickly. Activity Level | She has a lot of energy, but it is all positive. She just wants to play or run. She is easily excitable and always eager for attention. If she does not go to an active family, she would do best with another playful dog at home or regular visits to daycare for socialization and exercise so she doesn't become bored and destructive. She absolutely LOVES to play with toys and chew on bones as a past time. Personality | She is very sweet and loving and the perfect mix of independent and loyal. She loves to cuddle and is very affectionate. She seems to be very gentle in nature, but happy and energetic if she is allowed to be. After spending time with her, we would guess she is closer to 1 year in age rather than 2. She would make the perfect companion for an active family that will give her all the love and attention she deserves. Story | Unknown Thank you! | Thank you to Bri for taking in this sweet girl. Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $475. Lizzy is a great easy loving dog. No puppy stuff! Completely house-trained. She does not bark at people or other dogs. She loves to lay her head on your lap or put her paws on you. She will give you a hug if you want her to and lay her head on your chest. She is good on a leash - she will run or walk with you but she may find things to sniff along the way. We have been teaching her "off" so she does not crowd my dog and become territorial on the sofa or bed. She now lays down next to us. If she wants me to get up she might put her paws on the bed. I might tell her to "go lay down" which she does.  She has had at least one litter but is now spayed. So far she is good with my 10.5 year old lab, but I'm not sure about playful pups or cats. She is happy to be around people – enjoys attention. No food agression. She is all-around calm and easy-going.  Lizzy just needs a little training on "come" but if I ask her if she wants a treat - she comes inside.  She is good on a leash – no pulling - she likes to sniff and explore.   She knows sit!. She seems to be very smart.   She is not a fan of balls or toys at the moment! She just explores her surroundings and is very curious about everything. I've seen her become more playful and she like to chase squirrels.  General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.     Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. Outside all day unless something going on then back inside into crate. Crate can be shut or open. We have been working on leaving it open and they have been fairly good about staying in it. Tucker likes to sneak out when I am out of site. Feeding at 5:00 pm: 1.5-2 cups of Adult Pedigree dry food. Back inside for the night in crate by 11:00 pm for the night. Feeding routine with a slow feeder bowl: Dog is put on "place" (a mat or cot or bed or designated spot), all 4 paws and elbows must stay on place. The word "Place" is the command. Dog food is gathered and bowl is set down in a specific spot. Dog must stay on place and look into human's eyes until the word "free" is given. "Free" is the command word that is used to be free or come off any command .. He eats very quickly and recently started to pee on his dish. Commands or training: Trained professionally in the primary obedience class. He was trained with Dogtra ARC electronic shock collars. Jack's lowest setting was 9-11. We have not used the collars in a while. We also have used bark collars and work well. "Sit'' -to sit down. "Down"-to lay down with all elbows on the ground. "Stay'' -to stay. "Free"- to be free or come off of a command until another command is given. "No" -to stop doing a bad behavior followed with a correction. "Place" -to go to the place whether it be their bed, cot, mat or certain place. (We used this with their cots or mat.) "Heal"-to walk even with the person walking (We have not reinforced this very much since we have not been able to leash walk. They are supposed to walk beside you and when you stop the dog is to immediately sit down.) "Hush" -to stop whining or barking "Good" -for praise and showing a good job. "Kennel" -to tell them to go to their crate. (The trainers said this can be used for getting into the vehicle also but we do not have to tell them to do that I) I know he loves water and he will jump in a lake or pond and loves to lay in the huge water bowl we have when filled up. However, he wants fresh water to lay in and will not go in the doggy pool unless it is refilled. I think he would do well w ith a big swimming pool or lake. He loves the beach. I tried recently to have Jack fetch the ball with lots of praise and he loved it. He has amazing hunting qualities by stalking and recently running after possums in the backyard. His dad was a hunting dog and was getting further trained after the litter was born. Loves to be brushed Does not like thunderstorms or fireworks. Does ok inside but not outside during these events show less

General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Health Notes | Paquita is a healthy 8 month old puppy. Other Dogs | Paquita LOVES other dogs and would love to have a canine sibling who will PLAY with her! She might be petite, but she is scrappy and can hold her own against her 60 lb foster sister. She responds well when her foster sister tells her that play time is over even though she would really like to keep playing.  Cats | Unknown Children | Paquita loves kids, but she's still learning not to jump and mouth when she gets really excited which will likely be too much for littles. Training | Paquita is very food motivated! She can sit on command and is working on stay, down, off, and leave it. She responds well to no and to redirection. She is very smart, but there are just so many distractions and playing is just so much more fun! She will need a family who is committed to consistently, patiently working with her on her training. She is crate trained and stays in the crate at night and during the day while her foster parents are at work. She had a few accidents in the house the first day but is doing well when given consistent potty breaks outside. She has not offered to be destructive in any way. Leash | Paquita is working on her leash etiquette. A front clip harness is helping her remember not to pull when she sees a dog or human she wants to meet (spoiler alert: she wants to meet ALL the dogs and humans!). Activity Level | Paquita is HIGH ENERGY! She needs lots of play time, human interactions, and room to run. Her ideal family will be active and have a yard and a canine sibling to help keep her entertained.  Personality | Paquita is extremely sweet and affectionate. She hasn't met a human or dog she doesn't want to be besties with. After she's expended some energy, she will gladly curl up next to you for snuggles until it's time to play again. Story | Paquita was recently surrendered by a family who loved her and cared for her. They realized their current season of life wasn't allowing them to give her the attention, exercise, and training she needs to thrive, and we are very grateful they reached out to Mile High Lab Mission. Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Puppies to 1 year - $425, 1-6 years - $375, 7-10 years - $325, and 11+ years - $175. Purebreds are $475 regardless of age. General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Health Notes | Blanche is healthy, she eats and sleeps well. Other Dogs | Blanche gets along great with other dogs. She is very respectful of my older dogs boundaries and does not bug them as much as most other puppies do. She gets a bit nervous when they want to play with her but is getting more comfortable with that as well.  Cats |  Children | Blanche loves children. She plays with and follows around my kids (ages 12, 9, and 4). She loves to cuddle with them. She runs with them and loves it when kids are playful with her. She gets the zoomies when the kids are playing with her.  Training | Blanche has already shown she will be a quick learner. Blanche is doing well with potty training. Her accidents are minimal and she is learning that going outside means it's time to go potty. She has slept in a crate but has also started crying halfway through the night, so she may require more crate training if needed. She doesn't like having to be in her crate during the day, doesn't resist it, but cries when we are gone. She has started responding to her name a few commands like "come here" "good girl" and "no" Leash | she is still learning to walk with a leash. She's trying to get the hang of it.  Activity Level | Blanche is very calm. She loves to play and chew like any puppy, but is extremely mellow. She is very excited in the mornings. She loves to lay in your lap or next to you and cuddle.  Personality | Blanche is one of the sweetest dogs I've fostered. She is willing to give you her whole heart. She is very loving and cuddly. Cuddling is her favorite pastime. She loves being around people and will follow you anywhere you go. She learns quickly and will train easily. Blanche is always willing to sit next to you, or under your chair. She loves to play with toys, her favorite game is fetch. She is curious and always notices sounds. She tries to catch frogs. She loves food so she will try to jump up to the table or counter, so will need reminders about that. She will give kisses but never gets in your face/gets too crazy.  She gets along well with everyone- adults, children, and other dogs. Everyone that we have had over say they want to take her home.  Story | Blanche and her two sisters Rose and Tinley belonged to a breeder. They were mostly kept in an outside kennel. Both of her parents are silver labs. The breeder has medical issues come up, so they needed someone to take the dogs.  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Puppies to 1 year - $425, 1-6 years - $375, 7-10 years - $325, and 11+ years - $175.
