General Notes | Nola is settling in just fine at her foster home. She loves playing outside gets and is nice and mellow when inside. She had a great first night. She is doing great in her crate and learning about toys.    Health Notes |  Other Dogs | She did great with the other dogs she was dropped off with. And has a mellow deposition, so I am sure she will do great living with another dog. Cats | no experience with cats. Children | she has done great with my two kids 5 and 9 Training | She has no training as of now.   Leash | She needs some training on walking on a leash. She tends to just want to stay where she is. We will work on that. ;) Activity Level | She gets excited to play outside, but is content lying around inside as well. Personality |  Story | I don't know a whole lot about where she comes from.   Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. Scotty is a sweet, fluffy, gentle goofball who can't wait to find his forever home.  General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Health Notes | Scotty seems healthy! He is a little on the skinny side, so we're working on beefing him up a bit.  Other Dogs | He does great with other dogs! We have a 2 year old lab, and they were running around playing as soon as he showed up at our house.  Cats | Unsure, but he's super chill so I can't imagine it would be a problem.  Children | He has met quite a few kids (ages 10+) and has been fantastic with them.  Training | He arrived knowing how to sit on command, but that's about it so far. He is very well-behaved, though... no chewing on anything other than toys, no accidents inside. Overall a very easy dog! Leash |  Activity Level | He loves to run and play with our other pup, but also spends quite a bit of time just relaxing.  Personality | Scotty's new to our house, but so far, he's the perfect house guest! He's a really sweet boy who has been very easy. We've discovered some silly quirks--  he likes to gently hold people's arms in his mouth. Also, it may be hard to tell in photos, but he's a big boy! He's long and skinny with super long legs.  Story |  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. Anders is a sweet boy who tells you when he’s excited by wiggling every part of his body! When his excitement completely overwhelms him, which happens often when it is food or outside time, he launches himself straight into the air with all four paws off the ground.  His joy for life is infectious!  He can be a bit timid at first, but he loves people. 🖤 His activity level is that of a typical 1 year old - alternates between playing with toys, watching out the window and napping.  🐾 Anders loves to play with the resident dog in his foster home. They play until they collapse into a nap! He does well when seeing other dogs on walks, but he has started to make it clear that he is not very interested in making new dog friends.  When meeting new dogs up close, he is very selective about who he wants to know better.  In most cases, another dog will sniff him, and he will make it clear to them that he is not interested.  However, he does not lunge at other dogs or react negatively towards them unless they invade his space for too long.  As a result, he may be better suited to a home without another dog unless time and effort is put in to gradually introduce them over several days. 🤓 He has mastered sit, stay, shake, and lay down. Anders knows to stay off the furniture, unless he’s been invited, and does well when told to get down. 🍔 This boy is food motivated which will help with his continued training.  🏠 Anders sleeps through the night on a dog bed in his foster’s bedroom and is left to freely roam the house much of the time, even when his fosters leave.  He also does well in a crate and spent a fair amount of time in one while learning to be trusted around the house and during the night.  He's a very quiet boy, and his foster needs to be mindful of him trying to get attention to go outside.  When taken out regularly (roughly 3-4x per day), there are no accidents in the house. 🐾 If you are already an approved adopter and want to meet or adopt Anders, please contact your adoption coordinator. Or you can fill out an application at mhlrm.com   General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.       Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. Chablis has the sweetest freckles and a matching personality! And those big blue eyes will melt your heart ❤ She's playful, snuggly and settles right in when it's time to nap. At 8 weeks old she's doing great with puppy-piddle pads and has started asking at the door to go outside for potty breaks.   General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Health Notes | She seems like a growing, healthy baby. No concerns noted. Other Dogs | She was in a foster home with mom and 6 littermates until she turned 8 weeks. She's now in a foster home with 2 older dogs and she's having a blast!  Cats | Not tested yet as foster doesn't have cats. Children | Tested with older kids (8+) and does great. She's a baby and will need to be monitored closely around younger kiddos. Training | Working on potty training, doing great for 8 weeks old. Transitioning her to a kennel, its not her favorite but she's a baby who just left her mama! Foster is working to make her kennel a safe, positive place for her to spend time.  Leash | She's getting used to a collar, not much leash work yet.  Activity Level | She will be fiesty! Expect her to be a high energy, hard playing, super smart dog. She's rambunctious and curious, but takes direction well. Foster is working on sit and come commands. General Notes | Annie is a sweetheart! This little girl has warmed my heart. She came into our house little nervous, but has quickly shown her inner puppy and is eagar to please.  Health Notes | Annie is heartworm positive.  MHLRM will cover the expense of treatment with one of our appoved vetrinarians. Heartworm positive dogs go on to live happy, normal lives after treatment and rarely experience long-term side effects. Don't let this stop you from adopting Annie!  Other Dogs | She has done fine with the dogs we met on walks, but we do not have another dog in our house. Cats | Unkown Children | We have two kids (9 and 5). She does just fine. Training | It appears that Annie has little training, but she is eagar to please so we are working on it. She knows her name and comes. And perfers to be with her foster family at all times. Leash | She is great on a leash. Activity Level | Annie is pretty mellow when we are mellow. She enjoys hanging out while I am working. But also has a lot of puppy in her, when we are outside and playing she just wants to play.  Personality | She is just the sweetiest. Warms your heart. Just wants a human to call her own.  Story | These girls are finally being retired from breeding and looking for a FAMILY to call their own! General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Health Notes | No health concerns, Happy & Healthy! Other Dogs | Austin loves other dogs! He is very playful with the other lab in his foster home. He would do great in a household with another dog or two.  Cats | No exposure to cats. Children | He hasn't been around many children, but he is so incredibly sweet that he would probably be great with them. Watch out for his nonstop wagging tail, though!  Training | Austin is quickly learning commands. He is smart and food motivated. He has not had a lot of structure or formal training, so he needs an adopter willing to provide that and help him understand how to be a good boy. Austin is crate trained and house trained. Leash | Great! Austin really enjoys walks. He will tug a little bit but responds well to corrections. He is slightly fearful of loud noises (trucks, construction), but foster mom says he is gaining confidence with every walk! Activity Level | Austin is your typical lab. He loves to run, play, eat and nap on the couch. He still has some puppy energy and will do best with an adopter that can provide stimulation and exercise.  Personality | A big ball of love! Austin is the best kind of lab -- he loves everyone and thing that he comes into contact with. He is still learning the world and how to be a good dog. Anyone willing to put in the time will see a huge reward with this boy! Story | Austin and his brother were purchased from a breeder by an older woman that eventually realized two young purebred labradors were too much to handle. She decided to surrender both to our rescue in hopes we could find better homes for them.  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Puppies to 1 year - $425, 1-6 years - $375, 7-10 years - $325, and 11+ years - $175. Purebreds are $475 regardless of age. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $600 per dog). General Notes | So not a Lab, but how could we say no to this girl?!?!  From bait dog (grrrr) to wanted and LOVED Honorary Lab... meet Dalia!   Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Health Notes | Dalia had significant injuries to her face and front leg. It is suspected she received these injuries as a bait dog. Her left front leg required amputation. Dalia is healing nicely and learning to bunny hop around on three paws! Other Dogs | She is kind, curious and relaxed around other dogs. Cats | No exposure Children | Loves! Gives kisses and wags her tail around all humans -- big and small. Training | Dalia is a well-mannered pup. She does not know very many commands as she's been focused on healing, but she loves treats and pleasing people.  Leash | She is getting better by the day! She's had limited exposure up until now and does tug when excited. Activity Level | Medium. Dalia is figuring out life on three paws. She loves to bunny hop around but doesn't require a ton of exercise. She is happy to chill on the couch with you! Personality | Dalia is an absolute sweetheart. It is amazing how dogs can be so mistreated but still have a deep love for humans. Dalia's tail wag will melt your heart.  Story | Dalia was picked up as a stray in Houston, TX. She was injured and covered in old scars. It is assumed she was used as a bait dog for many years then dumped when her injuries became so significant. We are honored to have Dalia as a Mile High "Lab" and cannot wait for her to enjoy the life she deserves.  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations | Puppies to 1 year - $425, 1-6 years - $375, 7-10 years - $325, and 11+ years - $175.
