General Notes | If the word Goofy had a face, it would be this guy, meet Sloane! Derpy Dude with a permanent smile, even sleeps with his tongue out. Can't get any cuter! Want to adopt this dog? Please do not email us. Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP. Health Notes | Happy & Healthy! Other Dogs | Sloane loves a furry partner in crime & even won over the grumpiest foster family dog! Now that was a win! Seems eager to play and gets the zoomies when play begins. Super friendly with other dogs. The ice queen foster that growls at all other dogs has actually played with this guy!! Tells you everything you need to know! Cats | So far so good. Seems curious but stands back several feet and just watches. The foster's cat was drinking water and he laid 4 feet back until she was done before getting his own drink. What a gentleman! Children | Training | Potty trained! Sleeps through the night without needing to go out! He seems to know the word "no". Does NOT know his name. Foster has trained him very quickly on the dog door, took about 24 hrs for complete comfort with it. Other commands have never been established, however "sit" is there with a treat in your hand, so it will only take a little more work. He seems very treat motivated, so training should be fairly quick and easy. He is free roam in the house at night and during the day when you are away. Leash | Great on a leash and loves going on walks!! Activity Level | Tends to be at whatever level you want him to be. He will chill and sleep in the house, he will be eager for walks as well. The Texas heat (already 90 in April) seems to zap him some. Foster notices he really enjoys having antlers around to chew on during down time. Personality | Sloane is one laid back easy going dude! He relaxes and sleeps, but he's eager to join on walks and chores. He is a SHADOW, and will move with you from room to room. (Could be all of the new places for now) He is so happy and goofy! Sleeps with his tongue out, which is adorable! He will get the zoomies outside in the yard with the urge strikes. Loves chasing squirrels. Quirky trait: He prefers to lay down when he eats. Story | Thank you! | Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $425 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $375 for 1-6 years, $325 for dogs 7-10 years, and $175 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $475. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $700 per dog). Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet & greets by appointment to approved applicants only. To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. Please know | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page! We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved. Your application is good for 90 days from the time of approval for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle.
