General Notes | Ben is as sweet as they come, and is like hitting the puppy lotto! He is smart, mellow, crate trained, potty trained, a great snuggler, and is learning basic commands!  He does well in all environments - from brewery hangs to hiking, he has a demeanor that is hard to beat.  Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Ben is sweet, mellow, and a total pocket pal. He is happy to play, enjoying romping around with his foster siblings, but is just as happy curling up on the couch to snuggle.  Story | Ben came from TX with his brother after being rescued on the streets. He is adapting well to life in CO and adoring quality time in a house, getting pets, loves, and lots of treats!  Other Dogs | Ben does exceptionally well with other dogs and reads their cues. He adores his 3 yr old lab foster sibling, and will play gently and with adorable puppy bounds. He is also extremely good with his foster family's older two dogs, who are small, and a bit more yappy. ; ) He respects their boundaries, and will approach if they encourage it, but leaves them alone when they make it clear they don't want to play.  Cats | Based on Ben's demeanor, his fosters think he would do extremely well with cats.  Children | Ben LOVES kiddos, and does really well in playing with them, but is also extremely gentle. He does not nip or bite (even in play, there's no land shark here!!!) and is all about giving kisses and cuddles.  Training | Ben is potty trained, crate trained, and knows sit. He is working on additional commands.  Leash | Ben is learning to walk on a leash, with some silliness along the way! When he gets confused by it, he simply sits down and looks at you, asking for advice on how to proceed. He walks incredibly well with his foster siblings, and follows their steps!  Activity Level | Moderate. While Ben has a mellow personality, he will probably continue to enjoy exercise, as all labs do! Health Notes |  Thank you! |  Adoption Donations |  Our adoption donations are $475 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $425 for 1-6 years, $375 for dogs 7-10 years, and $250 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $525. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $700 per dog). General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Hi! My name is Ruger and I just arrived to Colorado, and boy oh boy am I happy to be here! I let my people know how grateful I am by being the bestest bouncy, pounciest puppy! And how awesome is my cute little gray goatee!!!! Personality | Ruger is a very sweet puppy! He is more chill than most of the previous puppies his foster family has had. Ruger is always happy and wants to give you kisses and will happily roll over to receive belly rubs. He is curious outside, and like all puppies, he likes to try the leaves and sticks and rocks just to make sure it's not food being wasted. Despite his foster mom knowing better than to allow a dog to roam free in a moving vehicle, if they are only traveling a short distance, Ruger is happy to lay in the backseat with the kiddos.  Story | Ruger was brought to Colorado with 3 of his siblings from Arkansas.  Other Dogs | Ruger is living with a 4yr old chocolate lab who isn't always fond of puppies, but Ruger is so respectful of her and does not try and nip at her or jump in her face. Ruger cautiously approaches her and the two of them have already started to engage in some play, alothough the big dog sometimes scares Ruger with her loud bark.  Cats | Ruger was previously fostered with cats, and honestly would probably be more afraid of a cat than annoying towards a cat.  Children | The kids in Ruger's foster home, ages 5 and 7, say he is the best puppy they have fostered! He doesn't jump on them causing scratches, he doesn't try and bite the little girls hair, he doesn't even accidently nip them. He is happy to play tug-of-war with the kids and have the kids take him on little walks. He likes to chase them in the backyard and follow them around the house. He especially likes to be near when they are eating in hopes of some crumbs landing by him.  Training | Ruger definitely will need basic obedience, he likes to jump up and see what your making in the kitchen. He is learning the basics of going to the bathroom outside. He has already learned that if he goes potty when taken outside right away, he gets a treat. He is happy to sit for a treat as well. With frequent potty breaks, he will be 100% house trained in no time! He is slowly understanding how to sleep in a crate by himself; it's hard spending 3 months with all your siblings snuggling together at night, and then having to transition to a crate all alone. He will let you know he's not pleased for the first few minutes, but then he will give in and take a nice little nap.  Leash | Ruger is not afraid of a leash, he does not try and bite the leash, and he happily trots along with a harness. He likes to stop and smell all the new smells, and loves to greet other people and dogs on walks. He will need more training on how to properly walk on a leash, but for now he's just getting used to using one.  Activity Level | Ruger has puppy energy, but not over the top. He likes to chase toys and throw them around for himself and explore outside for a bit and then he's happy to take a nap in his crate or on the couch with you.  Health Notes | Ruger is a healthy puppy and up to date on vaccines Thank you! |  Adoption Donations |  Our adoption donations are $475 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $425 for 1-6 years, $375 for dogs 7-10 years, and $250 for 11+ years of age. She is a happy, bouncy, playful 5 month old that is eager to learn and please!  Health Notes | Mary is fully vaccinated and up to date on heartworm prevention. She is spayed and will not need any vaccines for another year.  Other Dogs | Mary does great with other dogs, on or off leash. She LOVES to play with other dogs!! Cats | Mary has lived with a cat and they happily shared the home together.  Children | Mary lived with a 7 year old and will need continued training, as all puppies do, that it is ok to put dog approved toys in her mouth, but not hands. Puppies and children should always be supervised because sharp puppy teeth can hurt!  Training | Like any puppy, Mary will need to continue basic obedience training. She is crate trained, doing great with house training, knows the command 'sit.' She, like most labs, is food motivated and eager to please!  Leash | In her current home, she gets two walks a day, each about a mile, and she is able to loose leash walk about 60% of the time! Pretty impressive for a young pup! General Notes | Want to adopt this dog?  Please do not email us.  Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP.   Personality | Jake is a big happy boy!! He is happy to be around his pack and part of the daily routine. He absolutely loves going for walks and just being outside. He is going to love the Colorado weather compared to Houston! Jake's one quirk is you cannot touch him or his bowl while he is eating. He will low growl as a warning. Story | Jake was owner surrendered to a shelter. We do not have much information other than that and he deserves to find a family that won't leave him. Other Dogs | He does not really show interest in playing but more so likes to just be around other dogs. He is in a foster home with 2 other dogs and he does great. All 3 just lounge together. Cats | unsure. There are no cats in the foster home. Children |  Training | Jake knows sit - especially when he is being fed or getting a treat. He is house trained and free roams the house at bedtime. No issues! Leash | Great on a leash. Activity Level |  Health Notes | Jake is heartworm positive, but treatment is very successful and completely manageable with all the proper education.
