General Notes | Ben is as sweet as they come, and is like hitting the puppy lotto! He is smart, mellow, crate trained, potty trained, a great snuggler, and is learning basic commands! He does well in all environments - from brewery hangs to hiking, he has a demeanor that is hard to beat. Want to adopt this dog? Please do not email us. Please fill out the Adoption Application ASAP. Personality | Ben is sweet, mellow, and a total pocket pal. He is happy to play, enjoying romping around with his foster siblings, but is just as happy curling up on the couch to snuggle. Story | Ben came from TX with his brother after being rescued on the streets. He is adapting well to life in CO and adoring quality time in a house, getting pets, loves, and lots of treats! Other Dogs | Ben does exceptionally well with other dogs and reads their cues. He adores his 3 yr old lab foster sibling, and will play gently and with adorable puppy bounds. He is also extremely good with his foster family's older two dogs, who are small, and a bit more yappy. ; ) He respects their boundaries, and will approach if they encourage it, but leaves them alone when they make it clear they don't want to play. Cats | Based on Ben's demeanor, his fosters think he would do extremely well with cats. Children | Ben LOVES kiddos, and does really well in playing with them, but is also extremely gentle. He does not nip or bite (even in play, there's no land shark here!!!) and is all about giving kisses and cuddles. Training | Ben is potty trained, crate trained, and knows sit. He is working on additional commands. Leash | Ben is learning to walk on a leash, with some silliness along the way! When he gets confused by it, he simply sits down and looks at you, asking for advice on how to proceed. He walks incredibly well with his foster siblings, and follows their steps! Activity Level | Moderate. While Ben has a mellow personality, he will probably continue to enjoy exercise, as all labs do! Health Notes | Thank you! | Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $475 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $425 for 1-6 years, $375 for dogs 7-10 years, and $250 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $525. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $700 per dog). Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet & greets by appointment to approved applicants only. To become an approved applicant - please complete the application process. Please know | Available dogs are updated as soon as possible and we do our best to keep it up-to-date, but occasionally dogs shown may become unavailable without notice due to a pending adoption. We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page! We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved. Your application is good for 90 days from the time of approval for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle.
