Hunter is a 6 month old mal boy that came into CalPaws after a bit of bouncing around, pretty quickly his foster knew something was not quite right and we got him into the vet. After lots of test, he was diagnosed with discospondylitis; is an infection of the vertebrae and intervertebral disc spaces, a painful thing for a young pup, luckily it was caught early! Hunter, he is a mal, so tug of war and being active is Hunter’s middle name. He would be great in an active home. He is sweet and is stable with his medical condition and the rescue will be supplying his antibiotics for the year he needs to be on them. Cari (formerly known as Shanti) A beautiful, sweet adult female GSD that escaped the shelter in the nick of time! At a smallish 57 lbs, Cari is a gentle girl with a shy nature.. she can be your hiking or jogging partner as well as your foot warming Netflix buddy. She's practicing to be the poster child for her breed..the "Velcro dog"..no place she'd rather be than by your side or in your lap. She can be a little reserved and needs a home that will continue to build her confidence. She came to us as as a pretty blank slate so she's working on mastering basic obedience but is a very smart girl and a quick learner. Because she's such a clever girl, a home with secure gates and fencing is a must..She still has bursts of puppy energy but settles herself nicely. She's good with other dogs in the house.. but definitely prefers the boys. This is Emmy, a beautiful Siberian Husky girl. She came to us when the shelter advocated for her as she wasn't doing well in that environment. When we met her she was scared and repeatedly retreated to the back of her area but was so wanting to trust. Once we got her outside, she began to calm almost immediately. She was perfectly quiet and still while we drove to her new foster home and she is settling in there nicely. She could use to gain a few pounds but she is an absolute sweetheart ready for her fresh start. Jo is the leader of the sisters, both in personality and size. She has beautiful black and tan German Shepherd markings and a very thick coat. Jo loves to play tackle and wrestle with her sisters but also loves her human cuddles and scratches. Jo is particularly fond of belly rubs. She loves the puppy pool and no problem with baths!
