CalPaws welcomes Bella! Bella is an 11 year old Great Pyranese with some making up to do in the area of love and living the life of luxury. Bella has spent her life outdoors, no matter the weather, her only job was to protect. BUt Bella wanted more! Bella is a lover not a fighter, she longed to be inside! When her owners moved away they vowed to keep coming back to feed her but those times got further between. Some advocating, working together and lots of love, Bella came into rescue. Bella is a SWEETHEART! She LOVES being indoors, where she was always meant to be. She knows how to go outside to go potty but quicky wants back in... she doesn't want you to forget her out there! Bella is learning how to determine friend from foe with other dog friends and if good with cats. She adores the little boy in her foster home and gently lets him know when she needs a break by moving away or asking him nicely. Bella deserves the absolute best in her golden years and will repay you with all the love you can handle. Meet Moxie!!!! Mama Moxie came to Calpaws from the Salinas shelter where she was found as a stray and pregnant. Her puppies have all been adopted and now it is Moxies time to find her forever home! She is learning family life and what love is. She does great with the resident dogs and loves to play with them. She has learned a few basic commands and is extremely smart and eager to please. Moxie is potty trained and gets along with everyone she has meet, kids and adults. Her newfound love is tug and chasing balls or toys! We believe moxie is around three years old. We are unsure how she is around cats. Moxie has a very calm and sincere demeaner and loves to be pet and loved on. Hunter is a 6 month old mal boy that came into CalPaws after a bit of bouncing around, pretty quickly his foster knew something was not quite right and we got him into the vet. After lots of test, he was diagnosed with discospondylitis; is an infection of the vertebrae and intervertebral disc spaces, a painful thing for a young pup, luckily it was caught early! Hunter, he is a mal, so tug of war and being active is Hunter’s middle name. He would be great in an active home. He is sweet and is stable with his medical condition and the rescue will be supplying his antibiotics for the year he needs to be on them. Cari (formerly known as Shanti) A beautiful, sweet adult female GSD that escaped the shelter in the nick of time! At a smallish 57 lbs, Cari is a gentle girl with a shy nature.. she can be your hiking or jogging partner as well as your foot warming Netflix buddy. She's practicing to be the poster child for her breed..the "Velcro dog"..no place she'd rather be than by your side or in your lap. She can be a little reserved and needs a home that will continue to build her confidence. She came to us as as a pretty blank slate so she's working on mastering basic obedience but is a very smart girl and a quick learner. Because she's such a clever girl, a home with secure gates and fencing is a must..She still has bursts of puppy energy but settles herself nicely. She's good with other dogs in the house.. but definitely prefers the boys. When we met her she was scared and repeatedly retreated to the back of her area but was so wanting to trust. Once we got her outside, she began to calm almost immediately. She was perfectly quiet and still while we drove to her new foster home and she is settling in there nicely. She could use to gain a few pounds but she is an absolute sweetheart ready for her fresh start. Adoption fees: Adult dogs: 1-6 years $400.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm each dog and chip. Lastly, we spay or neuter each of our dogs. Our adoption process includes an initial conversation about the dog to see if the dog is a good match or if another dog could be a more suitable match. Gianna is an 11 week old German Sheperd, Sharpei, bully breed mix. Behind that wrinkly face and puppy dog eyes are a big happy easy going girl. Gianna LOVES everyone and wants to be their friend. She is a wonderful mix of rough and tumble playmate and snuggle buddy. Gianna is crate trained sleeps quietly all night. She consistently goes outside to potty and is working on basic commands.
