Finn is about 4-5 years old. His story…..he has been roaming the streets for the past 3 years. Based upon the marks on his nose, it has not been an easy couple of years. He was brought into the shelter after he bit a small dog. It is hard to know all the details and sad that a dog could be living on the streets for 3 years, had no one advocating for him what so ever! Based upon his demeanor, his look, he was probably owned. He is not aggressive, just passive and scared, very scared. We agreed to take him, because this is the chance he deserved to have 3 years ago and no one gave it to him. Calpaws will give him that chance. Adoption fees: Adult: 1-6 yrs $400.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm each dog and chip. Lastly, we spay or neuter each of our dogs. Our adoption process includes an initial conversation about the dog to see if the dog is a good match or if another dog could be a more suitable match. We also will complete a home visit. It should be noted that our adoption counselors know the dogs and can best guide any possible adopter with a suitable match. Please visit https://www.calpaws.org/available-dogs for the adoption application! We are always in need of experienced fosters for the amount of dogs we have coming in. Being a foster is such a rewarding experience. If you are interested please review https://www.calpaws.org/fostering show less

Ollie was found in Hollister, Ca with a horse companion that had been seriously injured by a car. Sweet Ollie would not leave his companion's side and was taken to the shelter. He looked awful with patches of hair missing, malnourished and emaciated. He was lovely with all humans from the beginning and quickly became a shelter staff favorite. His fur is growing back, he's put on weight and muscle and is no longer feeble. Ollie has had 8 weeks of a board and train and comes with additional training that will help you learn how to communicate with him and help him acclimate! Hi, I’m Elsa   I am a 3 month old, female, sweet german shepherd, husky mix. I am currently living with a active foster family, two middle aged boys that match my puppy energy level. I play hard and sleep hard. My foster mom says I am the sweetest girl in all of the land. I love belly rubs, splashing water, playing fetch, tug-of-war, and lots of treats. I am crate trained, almost potty trained, currently learning basic commands, and house manners. I’m going to be a big girl, but that comes along with a big heart to give to my forever family. Adoption fees: Puppy: up to 1 year $450.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm each dog and chip.   Say hello to Fenris! Fenris is a male Malinois mix. He came to us from the Sacramento shelter where he was struggling in the shelter environment. He has been decompressing in his foster home and is starting to show his goofy side! You can tell he has dealt with some trauma in his short life, so his fosters are working to teach him that the world can be a fun and safe place. Fenris definitely has the Malinois personality and likes to ”chomp chomp” during play. He is warming up to the other dogs in his foster home, though he does not care for other dominant males so a home with submissive males or females would be preferred. He is a very sweet boy and is doing well with the children in the home, though he is mouthy and a little pushy, so a home with older children would be best. Fenris is also still adjusting to being in a home so we are working on potty training and manners. We are still learning about this sweet boy, and will update as we go along. Adult: 1-6yrs $400.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm each dog and chip. Sweet Blaze or Blazey as we call him. There is so much intelligence in this little body and big ears. He comes when called, knows his name and is already house breaking and is crate trained. Blaze is an old soul, filled with love and affection and his happiest place is wherever his people are. He is up for a cuddle or will gladly lay at your feet. He loves playfully chasing his 3 year old human sister and playing with his two doggy foster brothers. He also lives with a feline foster brother who he is just starting to show interest in but always in a respectful way. Blaze loves chewing on his bones and never chews anything he shouldn’t, he’s not a mouthy boy at all. He absolutely love meeting new people. He is a really easy dude and doesn’t ask for much but to be with you. We absolutely adore Blaze and he has been such a joy to have in our home. He loves meal times and making his people happy; between this and his high intelligence and ability to learn so quickly, he’s going to be a guy that will love learning all his humans want to teach him.  Adoption fees: Puppy: up to 1 year $450.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. Clyde needs a lot of things—he needs love, training, a stable environment but the thing he needs most is to find his person. This has become apparent to me in the 24 hours that I’ve had him—he doesn’t let me out of his sight and he comes running when I call him. He waits for me at the bottom of the stairs and gets up when I get up.  We’ve discovered that he’s potty trained, he’s food motivated and he gets along well with lots of other dogs. He’s about 2 years old, a smaller shepherd (around 45-50 lbs) and is crate trained. when he wags his tail, his whole body wags with him. He’s learning to play and to just relax, which must have been a tough thing in the overcrowded kennel. He’s such a sweet boy who is eager to please. Are you his person? Daisy is a wonderful dog.  Hardly more than a puppy herself, she has given birth to 9 puppies.  Daisy has been a gentle, patient momma and is proud of her babies.   She is a sensitive dog that would do best with patient owners who give positive rewards. Daisy will work to make you happy.  She gets along fine with my older dog and seems to ignore the cat (at least through the window).  Squirrels, well that is another story.   Daisy is still young and does best if walked 2 x a day.  It seems as if she received some training in the past.  That training has rusted a bit.  A few sessions with a trainer would help Daisy remember her training.  She is a bit anxious in new situations and with people, she doesn't know.  A few meatballs and a walk is an easy remedy for this. She will need consistent instruction to learn to walk on a loose leash.  The early investment in training will be well worth it.  She is a cuddler and would love the opportunity to sleep on the bed.  She will alert you to unusual sounds outside and is a perfect protector without being aggressive.  This is such an awesome dog that will make a family really happy.  She would be great with kids.  She is housebroken and likes to do her business in the same spot in the yard. Adoption fees: Adult: 1-6yr $400.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm each dog and chip. Lastly, we spay or neuter each of our dogs.
