This is Lindy, but my foster family likes to call me Lindy Lou or Lindy Lou Who.  She’s a petite husky girl.  She had a bit of a rough start to life but is quickly acclimating to life in a home.  She is the sweetest, happy dog and loves love and her people.  She came into the rescue with little to no training but is a fast learner and eager to please.  She almost has sit mastered, and we are working on down and stay with her.  She is potty trained and has never had an accident in the house.  She is great with people of all ages.  She is fantastic with the 4-year-old twins in her foster home.  She lays right next to them while they play and let’s them include her in whatever game they are playing.  Lindy is a medium energy dog whohas the occasional case of the zoomies.  Once her energy is burned off, she’s happiest laying on a soft warm bed or right at your feet wherever you are in the house.  She is crate trained and sleeps happily in her crate at night.  She lives in a home with two other large dogs.  She is fine with one of the dogs but is still reactive with the second dog.  With proper and slow introductions, she may be good in a home with another dog.  Lindy is spayed and ready for her forever family. Adoption fees: Adult: 1-6 yrs $400.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm each dog and chip. Lastly, we spay or neuter each of our dogs. Our adoption process includes an initial conversation about the dog to see if the dog is a good match or if another dog could be a more suitable match. We also will complete a home visit. It should be noted that our adoption counselors know the dogs and can best guide any possible adopter with a suitable match. Please visit https://www.calpaws.org/available-dogs for the adoption application! We are always in need of experienced fosters for the amount of dogs we have coming in. Looking for a happy, super sweet, endlessly entertaining new best friend? Meet 4.5 mo old Cali (short for Caliente)!  Cali is a typical puppy and pretty much always into mischief when she is not eating or sleeping.  She has her busy times but settles really well after a good play session- for a GSD puppy she is actually pretty mellow! She will quietly hang out nearby when you are at your computer or watching tv but is not at all clingy. Cali has also got plenty of puppy smarts. She sleeps all night in her crate with no accidents and is nearly fully house trained. Cali is absolutely food driven so training is a snap. She is well on her way with basic training: we have been working on sit, stand, down, stay, come, crate, watch me, and go hurry up. This pup gives great eye contact! Cali is confident and comfortable with our resident dog and is learning to respect her boundaries. We don’t know how she is with cats but she will chase birds and insects in the yard so may have some prey drive. We think she would be great with older kids (no babies or toddlers for now). She rides well in the car and loves getting out in the big wide world. She can be a little unsure in new situations but just needs more exposure to people, places, and things, accompanied by plenty of treats! With continued training and socialization this little girl is going to make a lucky someone a great companion! Adoption fees: Puppies: up to 1 yr $450.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm each dog and chip. Lastly, we spay or neuter each of our dogs. Our adoption process includes an initial conversation about the dog to see if the dog is a good match or if another dog could be a more suitable match. Isabella (Izzie) is a sweet girl who wants to find her person! She's already bonded to her foster mom and follows her wherever she goes - even waiting at the door politely until foster mom reappears! She's super snuggly with children and plays well with submissive dogs. She will do best in a home where she can be top banana, with no cats (she can't help but chase them!). Izzie is currently underweight but has found her appetite and will fill out as soon as we will let her! She doesn't jump up or counter surf, and is already learning basic commands. She's potty trained and sleeps in a crate, but wants to be near you at bedtime. Izzie will make a wonderful family dog! Adoption fees: Adult: 1-6yr $400.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm each dog and chip. Lastly, we spay or neuter each of our dogs. I am Sierra, an approx. 1-2 years old female gsd. I am around 60 lbs in my petite body.  I was found living in an irrigation ditch in North Tracy and while there were a few people posting on FB about me, no one was there to help me.  I had to find my own shelter, protect myself from humans and other animals, and I was so hungry and scared.  Then these two ladies came out with some water and food one morning and I felt their love instantly.  I even was out waiting for them after the storm to come back and there they were.  Within seconds I was safe and secure and knew I was going to be okay. In my foster home, I have been learning how to trust others and learning how to be a dog.  This takes me a lot of time but I am really trying to be brave with every day comes a new adventure with my foster mom. What I am hoping to find: Fetching partner – you throw the ball, I will bring it back; slow Long walks – I mean sloooowwww walks. I love to smell everything for a lengthy time so lets take some slow long walks together; cuddler – I love to sit next to you or on lay across your lap.  I love to be near you; someone to pet me – one of my favorite things; home to feel warmth – want to be inside with my family; someone who is calm/understanding/patient and will offer me the time to learn to trust my family and take things at my pace. What I offer: no separation anxiety, I just sleep when my hooman is away from me; toy driven dog, the spike ball is my absolute favorite toy, it makes this crazy squeaky sound and I love playing fetch!  Easily trainable, a solid no usually she stops doing anything (don’t yell or be loud with me as I listen well to a correction and I want to please you) I go potty outside (I can go on dirt or cement or grass, you pick); cuddles (did I already mention I like cuddles).  I am spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and ready for a new home! Adoption fees: Adult: 1-6yr $400.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm each dog and chip. Lastly, we spay or neuter each of our dogs. Amira also known as Mira, is a nearly three year old German Shepherd of sweet disposition. She is energetic, highly intelligent and extremely willful.   Mira knows most basic commands, heels walks fairly nicely on leash, is house broken and very impressively pays no mind to people eating. She loves toys that squeak and loves to play tug.  Mira was in a loud shelter and was at risk when rescued. She is still decompressing from that experience. She prefers to be close to her fosters at all times. They are working with her on feeling comfortable and safe again. Mira has very impressive bark and will respond back to dogs that bark at her in passing.  She will need an owner who understands a working breed and is willing take time to invest in her training.  Overall, Amira has lovingly made her fosters her pack and we’d like nothing more than to see this beautiful girl find her forever home.  Adoption fees: Adult: 1-6yr $400.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. Bambi (or Bam as the foster family calls her) would absolutely thrive in a home with little kids, she adores her 3 year old human foster sister so much and loves cats in the best way. She also would do well in a home with an older person who would like a puppy but without all the typical puppy behaviors. No biting, no chewing, no barking, etc. She is actually extremely calm, almost like an old soul. Bam is also amazing on a leash, no pulling or anything, just rolls at your pace. She just loves to be with her people regardless of what is going on around her. She has never met a stranger. Once you walk through the door it’s like she’s known you her whole life. I think a lot of people could look past her if it says a home with older kids and really active because she loves just laying at your feet and if you have littles, those will be her people lol. We had kids running around wild last night and she never once got phased by it, no over excitement and totally appropriate play with them. It was awesome to see, everyone could not believe what an absolutely perfect puppy she is❤️ Adoption fees: Puppy: up to 1 yr $450.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. My name is Bunny! I am 5 and a half month old shepherd mix.  I am a sweet and loving girl. I do tend to be mouthy and I am starting to learn that I can chew on toys and bones.  I was a puppy left in the back yard so I am learning to live in a home and being house trained.  I live in a home with four other dogs and I like to play and I am learning so much from my foster siblings.  I am learning to share. I would do best in a home with another dog and older children. I am super smart and I am learning all sort of skills from my foster family and my siblings.  I would do best in a home that understands the shepherd breed. Meet Morris! Morris showed up at the abandoned property next door to the home of an amazing advocate (Tara) about 2 weeks ago, and he was with another dog. The other dog disappeared a couple days later, and this boy kept coming back. He kept going to the same spot. Tara’s significant other was painting the house for the landlord and he tried to catch him. After the third day of him showing up, he asked Tara for help in catching him. So Tara fed him for two days and on the third day, he let her pet him. That sealed the deal and he became Tara’s best friend. Tara has always advocated for these dogs and in honor of her hard work we decided to name him Morris. Tara’s last name is Morrison, or as a Scandinavian name means ”the son of Morris!” So here we have Morris! Morris is a bit uneasy in the car, probably not been exposed to car rides, not used to being indoors, using stairs or even snow! The snow was a hit, he is learning to navigate the stair case and he gets along well with other dogs. He is fun and playful. Tara said he paid no attention to her cat, so possibly a cat workable dog!! We are looking for a foster for Morris. He is a really good dog, fun, sweet, but knows nothing about sit, down or stay. He will need someone to be patience, but he is already coming to his name Morris. His recall and being off leash is amazing!
