Hello! My name is Autumn! I’m a Malinois-German Shepherd Mix…Which means I’ve got the best of both!   Malinois-GSD Mix…You might be thinking:  “Is she like a K9?”…Well, YES! If by “K9” you mean “Kissing YOU 9 times if you ask!” I’m actually a bit of an “introvert”.  I am cordial and kind, maybe a bit shy when we first meet but once I can sense we will be good friends, I will stay by your side, keep you safe, and do what whatever you feel like doing.  Hikes? YES, please! (just make sure to shield me from the “scaries”)  Chill at home binging on your favorite show - - ABSOLUTELY! I will even cuddle with you! Oh, did I already tell you that I am a mama at heart? I have puppies but they’ve all gone to loving homes and I miss them for sure BUT I can tell you that I currently have a four year old two-legged, fur-less “puppy” at my foster home and I absolutely LOVE HER! She says I’m her “best friend” and that I’m the “Anna” to her “Elsa”.  We nap together, we snack together - - although sometimes, when things get overwhelming, I voice out my feelings very kindly and she gives me the space I need.  I don’t want to ever hurt my “Elsa” so I let her know when “enough is enough” and our Mama absolutely thanks me for giving my “puppy” vocal cues! Let me open up to you a bit more though:  I don’t like being alone.  I really don’t.  I’d prefer to be with you as much as possible because being alone makes me sad and bored.  I may try to chase you as you walk or drive away.  Windows, doors...I’ve the talent of Houdini my dad says.  With that, I would prefer to be at home where I will be with someone most of the time…Don’t worry though, I know to keep quiet during zoom calls  If you think we will get along, please swipe right  click on the “adopt” button below and let the rescue know! I cannot wait to meet you!! Adoption fees: Adult: 1-6yr $400.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm each dog and chip. Athena, Kimmie, Lenny and Asher are all siblings and all have the same story. It is hard for us to know exactly what has happened with these babies, but it is safe to say, whom ever had were not able to find homes for these 4. They probably got too big, unable to find homes and then they were dumped in the town of Mendota. They were found eating scraps to survive. These pups are all looking for either a foster home or a home where they can be adopted. They are the lucky ones and had someone advocate for them. These pups are chipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and spayed and neutered. We would like to find a more permanent situation for them and either a foster home that can take one or two of these pups. Adoption fees: Puppy: up to 1 yr $450.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm each dog and chip. Lastly, we spay or neuter each of our dogs. Meet Mama Sandi! Sandi was dumped in a Pick’n’Pull yard where she delivered 5 healthy babies under a car in dirt and rocks. Once we heard of this, we immediately brought her and her family into the rescue. When the pups were about a week old. Mama is such a sweet loving girl.  We believe she is about 1 year old, a pup herself!  Sandi loves to cuddle and follows her humans around with a happy tail!  She loves to be with her foster parents, as well as the resident dogs. Sandi knows several basic commands and is a quick learning.  She is treat motivated which makes it very easy to teach her new tricks! She is fully crate trained and will sleep all night without a peep.  She enjoys going on daily walks and does well on the leash.                                                                                              She absolutely loves children of all sizes and ages. She would love a family to call her own! We are unsure about cats. Adoption fees: Adult: 1-6yr $400.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. Thor is our newest addition to the CalPaws pack. His story is pretty special as he is a retired K9 Officer from Tuolumne County Office of the Sheriff. Thor originally came from Poland and he was born on April 8th, 2018. Thor is trained in German commands, but he responds to basic commands in English as well. Thor was retired from the sheriff office due to a medical condition called  Spondylosis. Since a working dog is expected to be extremely active and have strenuous work loads, it was believed Thor would be unable to continue his career in law enforcement and was retired from the K9 program. Thor in his career was a valuable asset to the department and was involved in many apprehensions, found drugs and seizing guns. Losing Thor to the k9 program was hard for the organization since he was such a great working dog. Tuolumne County Office of the Sheriff has requested that CalPaws K9 Rescue help find an ideal home for Thor. Thor is current on his vaccines, his chip and he is being neutered. Thor is great with his foster pack to include three other dogs. Thor’s favorite pastime is to chase a ball or a toy and he will gladly bring the toy back to you to throw. He does catch and fetch with a certain amount of enthusiasm, which should be monitored to make sure Thor does not over exert himself. Thor does have drive as he still have the mind set of a working dog. Thor is huge cuddle bug as well as always being affectionate. he is sweet and lovable. He would make an amazing asset to a home that understands the breed. Our goal is to find the best home that will continue to love and honor Thor. As a former K9 officer we need to ensure these dogs, if they do not stay with their handlers, go to wonderful homes after retirement. To a home that understands the special qualities of these working dogs. Adoption fees: Adult: 1-6 yrs $400.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm each dog and chip. Lastly, we spay or neuter each of our dogs. My name is Daisy!! I was dropped at the animal shelter as a day old baby with my umbilical cord still attached. I was ice cold and hungry but nice people got me to my foster family who warmed me up and fed me right away! Foster mommy tube fed me for two weeks and bottle fed me for another four so you can imagine how much I love people as I was handled by them every few hours from the start!! I love the kids here and hang with them all the time. They take me to school pick up where I’m regularly swarmed by children and I love it!  I also have dog (my doggy foster mom is a sweet golden retriever), cat, kitten, bunny, bird and a horse friend here. I’m socialized with ALL critters and adore them all so the more critter friends, the better!! My personality is extremely outgoing. Foster mom says I’m brilliant as I already know how to sit and am always eager to please. I am a busy, active personality so I need a household who is going to get me out on hikes, walks and lots of adventures!! What do you think of this!  Meet Hendricks!  He is very playful, full of energy and knows how to behave.   We had Hendricks try out for the police K-9 unit - unfortunately he didn’t pass as his hunt instinct wasn’t high enough. So we call him the K-9 unit drop-out.   He has the chase and play instinct; you can find him in the backyard watching the chickens and squirrels 🐿️.  He is a very well behaved boy, who takes commands well and listens.  He is very smart and can pretty much learn any new command or trick you show him in about 3 tries.  After a long day of play he definitely enjoys lounging around on the couch with his blankets and pillows.  He loves his sister dog and snuggles with her ever chance he gets.  (Dog selective).  He needs a handler ready to expanding training, give him  job and keep him active.  Adoption fees: Adult: 1-6yr $400.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies.
