Meet Major! Our big Major man is just a love. He is super affectionate and will take as much as you will give him and then a little more. He marches to the beat of his own drum and is an independent little dude. Major is always off around the house looking for an adventure regardless of what the other dogs are doing but he has great recall. As soon as he hears his name he comes running. He is very respectful but somewhat curious of his 17 year old feline foster sister. Major loves to play with his littermates and doesn’t push limits with his big canine foster brothers. Major loves his 4 year old human foster sister but does need correction from time to time like the typical puppy. He is definitely the favorite of his teenage human foster brother and all his friends. Mealtime and snuggles are what he lives for right now. He is crate trained and pee pad trained. Major would do great as an only dog as he is definitely more human focused but I’m sure would attach to a dog buddy. A home with kids 4 years or older would probably be more ideal as he adores kiddos but may be a bit much for really small ones. Puppy: up to 1 yr $450.00 Our dogs are spayed/neutered and a registered chip. For our puppies they are up to date on vaccinations. Once adopted it is the new owner’s responsibility to continue the remaining vaccinations with a veterinarian. “Little Man” Riley is just the sweetest tiny boy you’ve ever met! He is quite charismatic with his little tail wags and nose kisses, loves to be snuggled and is always ready for a roll around in the grass with his sisters and foster siblings. Riley has met the outside cat and barked a little, with a full on wiggly butt in excitement, gave a few sniffs and was perfectly fine after that. He is house broken, crate trained and sleeps well through the night. Riley plays very with adults dogs and is very respectful of their corrections. He will do wonderfully with a big brother or sister to play with. He is the smallest of his siblings but makes up for it with his big personality! show less

Rides well in a car. Good with other dogs with proper introduction. Seems disinterested in cats. Not interested in water play. Loves a good hole to dig and relax in while she protects the property. Penny Benjamin is a shepherd mix who was rescued from the Dublin Shelter along with the Top Gun boys, Maverick and Goose. Penny’s mix is unknown, but she might have lab or some other water loving dog in her, because she loves to swim and is a big fan of food. Penny is approximately 3.5-4 months old. She is very sweet and has a ton of energy. Penny is doing well on her potty training and is learning to sleep through the night in her crate. Penny is great with other dogs and good with children of all ages. She is not mouthy. Penny would do well in an active household that provides her with lots of exercise and training. Sweet Piper was found abandoned in a field in Byron. A very loving citizen helped by bringing Piper into her home, and reaching out to CalPaws for help. Piper had a sweet, friendly, and calm disposition. Not something we expected in a 1 year old cattle dog. She made it hard for us to not help her. After a short time in a foster home we’ve learned a lot about this good girl. She is sweet and curious and will follow the resident doggie crew around the house. She likes to engaging in play with their female husky, and walks well with the dogs. She is somewhat less confident on solo walks and may thrive the most with a doggie companion in the household. Piper is approximately 35lbs and is the perfect size for someone who wants a smaller medium sized dog. She rides well in the car and relaxes wonderfully in the home. She is also potty trained. She’s an old soul and just a good girl who deserves the absolutely best home! show less

Poppy is a 14-week old German Shepherd / Belgian Malinois puppy. She’s spunky & energetic, loves to play with squeaky toys and tug o’ war. She’s super cute, fun and very friendly - good with kids, adults and other dogs. Poppy loves to cuddle with her humans, she adores pets and attention. She’s very food motivated, not picky - will eat kibble, treats, vegetables, fruits and likes to nibble on your fingers. She’s a very fast learner - she picked up “sit” and “down” in less than a day. Scout is simply the sweetest pup, with a relaxed and mellow personality! She is very amicable, and just goes with the flow and gets along with anyone she meets. After spending too much time growing up alone in the shelter, she went into a foster home where she is thriving and learning how to be the best family dog! She loves kids of all ages, and her foster mama is so impressed with how gentle she is with the kiddos in the home, who are only 1 and 4 years old. She gets along great with other pups, big and small. She plays well with her foster family’s resident pup, Grizzly! He’s a big boy but she doesn’t mind one bit. Scout knows to give their senior pug all the space he needs since he prefers a less active life style. Scout has spent time with cats and gets along just fine. Scout is house broken and crate trained. She loves going for a ride in the car and prefers the window seat! She is learning how to enjoy her walks on a leash and harness, and working hard on her basic commands. show less

All walks are a training program still with rewards for listening to his command. Stays in a heel when others pass. He crate trained and has been socialized around other adults and children. Tofu is the 11 week old snuggle bug. She’s confident but will check in with her humans and wants to get some love before she even steps outside to go potty first thing in the AM. She’s very food motivated and also knows sit. This sweet girl likes to be cuddled for hours and enjoys being held like a baby on her back while getting belly rubs. Great with other dogs. Tofu is the first to come back when called and seems eager to please and communicate. show less

Herman is a one and a half year old, big, goofy, love bug at 70 lbs, who has no idea of his size. He was found as a stray and was the shelter favorite to test other dogs temperament. At his foster home, he does incredibly well with kids (lives with a 12 & 7 year old) and the resident dog. He is a timid pup until he gets to know you, after which you will be hugged, kissed and loved at every chance. Herman is learning to walk on a leash and responds well to positive reinforcement. He is curious about cats but is not reactive. Herman loves snuggling next to his humans and will often take your favorite spot on the couch. He is very gentle while taking treats and loves to hang out wherever his human is. He is fully potty trained and is comfortable sleeping on his bed. We are trying to crate train him, but he is a bit wary of it. When we are out, he stays on his bed in his room with a baby gate to keep him from coming outside. He doesn’t realize he can jump over it! Herman would do well as a family dog, with people who are used to big dogs and will take the time to let him find his way. Herman doesn’t have a mean bone in his body and is the perfect dog who will give you heaps of entertainment and oodles of love. Help us find Herman his forever home! show less

He is crate trained and sleeps all night long. Bruce is fully house trained! He has learned how to use a doggy door. He is learning simple commands like sit, stay and lay down. He is very curious. He loves cuddles and affection. He currently is staying with a Chocolate Lab that he does very well with. He met a cat but ran away quickly.
