Petunia is a 3-4 year old American bull dog mix that came from a fellow friend in rescue. She was saved & saved again. Petunias perfect home, would be a place where she can join a nice stroll to the dog store or along the beach. After a nice walk she would enjoy a cozy couch to cuddle up on. She is good with dogs her size or smaller. She is the definition of chill. She’s potty trained and crate trained. She could lose a pound or two and we are working on that while she’s with us. Adoption fees: Adult: 1-6 yrs $400.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm each dog and chip. Lastly, we spay or neuter each of our dogs. Our adoption process includes an initial conversation about the dog to see if the dog is a good match or if another dog could be a more suitable match. We also will complete a home visit. It should be noted that our adoption counselors know the dogs and can best guide any possible adopter with a suitable match. Please visit https://www.calpaws.org/available-dogs for the adoption application! We are always in need of experienced fosters for the amount of dogs we have coming in. Say hello to Silas! Silas came to us from Contra Costa Animal Shelter in Martinez with his brother. They were shortlisted for euthanasia, and we were able to pull them with hours to spare. Once Silas was in a home and out of the shelter environment, it became exceedingly clear that he did not have behavioral issues as suggested by the shelter, but was just a young, scared Malinois. Silas is around a year old and an absolute doll. He is very mellow for a Malinois and extremely sweet. After the decompression period, he has decided that he loves cuddling on the couch with his foster family. He also gets along well with the five other dogs in his foster home, with a proper introduction. Silas is still learning his basic manners (like not to counter surf or steal shoes and underwear) but he is very smart and eager to please. This handsome boy needs a breed savvy adopter with respectful children over 5 to help him reach his highest potential. He has not been cat tested. Adoption fees: Adult: 1-6 yrs $400.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm each dog and chip. Lastly, we spay or neuter each of our dogs. Mama Barista and her 7 coffee beans (pups) came to CalPaws when the pups were only a couple of weeks old. For Barista’s whole life, all she has known were scraps. No love. No human interaction. She had to fend for herself daily. We were told this is mama’s third litter at only 2 years old. One of the best things about dogs is that is that they forgive, forget and they learn. They learn that all humans aren’t evil, and some are quite special. Mama has done a great job taking care of her pups while adapting to a new home life, learning how to be loved, walk on leash and trust the humans around her. She has come so far, welcoming new people now but still keeping an extra eye until she is a bit more comfortable. She does best when she has a canine companion and she loves all fur friends she meets. She would do best in a home with another dog that will help show her the ropes.  Barista is has gotten her girly figure back, is house trained, microchipped and vaccinated. She is ready to start her forever with her perfect family! Adult: 1-6yr $400.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm each dog and chip. Few ladies can achieve the gorgeous eye make up that our boy Baron (aka "Bear-bear", "wiggle butt") flaunts, along with perfectly peaked ears and a handsome swagger! With his big smile and happy, wiggly butt, he will get any Grinch into the holiday spirit! Baron is about 4 years old, ready to play but past those blessed puppy stages! He has never had an accident in his foster home, and calmly sits at the door to be let out when he needs it. He could demonstrate sit, shake, and lay-down as soon as he arrived. He loves to show physical affection, whether he is trying to "hug" you with his paws, bury his face in your lap, or full-body spoon in bed. While he prefers half of your cal-king bed to sleep, he is also a good boy in his crate! His affection and eager-to-please personality spans from adults to small children, who he happily allows to snuggle him right back. Unfortunately, cats don't appreciate his snuggles quite as much, and while he does not pursue them to injure, he is still curious and likes to ask them to play. He responds well to "leave it" in these situations, and is showing less and less interest in them. Baron is pawsy in play, and loves a playmate! He especially loves other pawsy dogs around his size, who get the zoomies like he does! He makes the cutest noises wrestling with his husky-shepherd foster brother. In fetch, he will happily frolic off in chase, but promptly forgets the "fetch" part. He does love soft, squishy and squeaky toys, as well as some good old fashioned tug-o-war. He is good at engaging play, however is relatively submissive should another dog not appreciate his style. He readily rolls over, belly up for forgiveness, and asks for a re-do! Baron is perfect for an active adventurer, but also loves a good cozy day on the couch. He truly appreciates a good Netflix binge as much as we do, and expects snacks to be shared. He is not food aggressive, but is very motivated by treats. He is more of a grazer when it comes to meals. He's been enjoying Benebones and shows zero interest in stinky shoes! Baron is a fast learner, and quickly picked up his new name, and the foster-household routines. He knows when to expect the kids home from school and fully greets and inspects them upon their return. His kisses are sweet, gentle, and not too sloppy, and he really appreciates a bald baby with dinner still stuck to his head. Baron is happy to assist in "Clean the baby" time, when the dogs are given permission to clean the floor, highchair, and baby, post-meal. Did you drop something on the floor while cooking, and can't pick it up? Simply call "clean up!", tap your toe near the mess, and Baron will be RIGHT there on duty! He is the perfect Sous Chef who will both clean, and perform quality control, for your meal time.  Baron will walk excitedly on a leash, but responds quickly to correction. He constantly looks to the human in charge for affirmation. He listens best to his foster mom, versus his foster dad, but he spends the most time with her as she works from home. He may give foster-dad the side-eye when told to go outside, yet he has no problem pouncing into bed on him!  He lounges comfortably on car and plane rides, and will gladly sit in the back, or shotgun. We are curious if he is 5% bunny rabbit, as he has quite the spring in his step! He can easily bounce straight over a baby gate, however once told to "stay", he obliges.  He also enjoys acquiring a spot on the couch via the back of the couch, versus the front, but again responds well to correction with this nifty party trick of his. (We will admit, it's quite fun to watch him do it!) Adoption fees: Adult: 1-6yr $400.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm each dog and chip. Lastly, we spay or neuter each of our dogs. Now that mama Roxy’s pups have all been adopted, it’s her turn to take the spotlight. Roxy is a special girl who has nothing but love and warmth for her people. She is a younger adult dog, just barely three years old but had to grow up quickly. She had given birth to her fourth and final litter when she came into Calpaws. She came to us with ten newborn puppies and was the best mama. Every day she is learning how to be a loved dog, she plays like a puppy with so much curiosity and joy! She is so giving, loving and cuddly!  Roxy is housebroken, crate trained and dog, cat and especially kid friendly. She wants to please her people, and she is an absolute joy! She enjoys walks and is good on leash. She loves to hang outside and sunbathe on nice days but she will always want to be near her people. She loves to give lean in hugs, and gaze lovingly into your eyes. She’s been through a lot in her short years, it is obvious she is so appreciative of her new life and good people! She will thrive as a family dog, but could do well with a single person home too (just make sure you have full supply of head scratches and belly rubs). Adoption fees: Adult: 1-6yr $400.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm each dog and chip. Lastly, we spay or neuter each of our dogs. Hi, my name is Tory. I'm a shepherd mix, about 8 months old, and had a rough start in life. I was a stray and was hit by a car. I then was picked up and shipped to the Stockton shelter. I was fostered out, where I could get the medical attention I needed, heal, and become the puppy I always wanted to be. I had a very successful surgery and I am now on the road to recovery. I have enjoyed all people, I have met some adults, kids, dogs and expressed friendliness/playfulness. I'm crate trained, and mostly potty trained. I'm a sweet girl and I get very attached to my humans. I also love food! I will eventually need some leash training because I do show some excitement towards other dogs, by barking. No aggression, just curiosity. I will be ready for adoption soon and would love to find my forever home for the new year. So if you are interested in meeting me, give our "Cal Paws" group a jingle! I'm eager to meet you and your family!  Adoption fees: Puppies: 0-1yr $450.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm each dog and chip. Lastly, we spay or neuter each of our dogs.  Our adoption process includes an initial conversation about the dog to see if the dog is a good match or if another dog could be a more suitable match. Deebo and his brother Kittle are the calmest, sweetest snuggle bugs! almost 4 months old, neutered and vaccinated, ready for a forever homes! Deebo is almost completely potty trained, love to sleep in the crate at night or for short periods if you have to leave the house. Loves to meet all new people, kids and dogs. Despite  being young he is very dog savvy, respectful of the older dogs and eager to please. Both pups do not seem to have much prey drive - they are confident and curious but uninterested in our chickens or the wild animals around our house. They do like to alert bark when people walk by the house - they are typical German shepherds letting us know to be on alert but then listen when we tell them “it’s ok”. They are super happy and easy going pups!  Deebo is the bigger of the two brothers. He is even more snuggly and will eagerly ask to sit in your lap or ask for a belly rub. Still flopping puppy paws, you can hear him before you see him coming! Deebo has sweet melt your heart chocolate eyes and a broader face than his brother. A gentle mouth with treats and enjoys a tug of war game. He is very smart and prefers to do his business in dry spots and will avoid the wet or mud at all costs which seems to be a quirky personality preference.  Adoption fees: Puppies: 0-1yr $450.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHPP, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm each dog and chip. Lastly, we spay or neuter each of our dogs. The spay or neuter of these puppies will happen at 4-5 months of age.  Our adoption process includes an initial conversation about the dog to see if the dog is a good match or if another dog could be a more suitable match. We also will complete a home visit. It should be noted that our adoption counselors know the dogs and can best guide any possible adopter with a suitable match.
