Collette is one of Mama Ladys pups! Collette is a beautiful brown pup who's full of curiosity and and loves exploring, digging for treasures and wrestling in the grass with her sister. She is a leader but also takes correction well and remembers areas that are out of bounds. After her adventures are through, she loves to snuggle near her people. Collette is intelligent and highly trainable and will go best to a family who has another dog to mentor her as well as a family committed to continued training. There will never be a dull moment with Collette but she will provide you with lots of laughter, loyalty, and love. Meet Pinto! Pinto Bean came to us from the Fresno airport area. One of our volunteers were meeting at the airport to have another of our dogs transported up to Livermore, when they saw a homeless women swinging a little puppy by one leg! She then asked for the puppy because it was hurting the poor little guy, she got spit at, and swung at. She was able to get the police involved and the pup was turned over to Calpaws! At this time Pinto was only about three weeks old. Now Mr. Pinto is 11 weeks old and looking for a home to call his own. He has the most outgoing personality for such a little guy. He loves to play with his fur siblings as well with humans! He loves kids and the snuggles they bring. He sleeps well in his crate overnight. We are unsure of his breed mix but we don’t think he is going to be a large dog. We believe he has Rat Terrier and possibly some cattle dog in him. He does like the company of his fur sibblings so we are requiring him to go to a home with another dog. Sig is a ten week old Shepherd and Husky mix, otherwise known as a shepsky. Sig was found along with his siblings in an open field in San Joaquin County. It appears the four puppies were left to fend for themselves. Sig has not been exposed to much in his short life. We are hoping for Colt to be in a home with another dog as our rescue believes in well socializing all of our the dogs in the program. Sig is learning to be house trained, crate trained and he has received the first series of his vaccinations, he is chipped as well as receiving his dewormer. She has a zest for life bigger than herself, she literally kicks her heels up when shes playing outside! She is fully house broken and crate trained. Dear Potential Forever Home, I’d like to introduce a beautiful young male German Shepard (GSD), Shadow. He is very sweet 2 year old. His coloring is so dark it hard to find him in the shade. Shadow will follow you around the yard until you stop and then he looks for the shade. Shadow likes cats but runs upon them to introduce himself as a puppy would do. Patience on all parts involved will eventually solve the problem. Shadow loves food so you must watch for him to clean out other pets dishes. I’m working with him to understand a strong “No”. He’s a easy boy to love. He’ll take petting anytime and will attach himself to you in a very short time. Like to bark at squirrels and doesn’t miss much in the yard. Multi Fire Truck sirens may cause him to howl, it’s adorable. Shadow has so much love to give and needs a loving family. He is a perfect gentleman with the exception of counter surfing. Dini is the sweetest little girl. Her and her mama came to us after they were being given away Dini was one of 11 siblings that were given away. Dini is the perfect combination of playful puppy and couch potato. She loves to play and can entertain herself for hours with her favorite toys and then when she’s all tired out she finds a cozy place to cuddle. She is incredibly smart and is quickly picking up on potty training and crate training. Meet Samson, a gentle giant with the most soulful eyes, was recently rescued by Calpaws K9. Brought to Los Banos Shelter as a stray with fly strike ears, he quickly became shelter volunteer's favorite for his gentle disposition. This boy is easy on leash, and already learning to "heel". Crate trained, knows sit and shake, has mastered down and leave it commands in a matter of minutes. Being treat motivated combined with Shepherd's smart, Samson will excel in training. Good with all sized dogs, Samson is being fostered in the same home with Willow T. He does not have a high prey drive, has ignored cats and squirrels on walks at the park. He has met infants and toddlers in strollers, and even solicited pets from kids on bikes. Samson had put his past behind him, his suitcase is packed and he's ready to join an awesome family that will include him on daily activities and cherish him as a family member. She is quirky and cute, and her coloring shows the true beauty of her DNA. She is calm yet strong and loves to lounge in a lap or with a soft cuddly friend/stuffy. Sweet and nice, loving all the cuddles, some cuddle longer than others but all want to make sure their people are around for all the love. They all play well with the big foster sisters, sometimes forgetting big fluffy tails are not chew toys. They each have an independent streak and sniff out their own fun in the backyard. However at nap time it is dog pile time in one bed (different body parts hang over.) They all already like being in the paddle pool or playing in the water bowl. Their favorite passtime is playing with sticks and frequently carry them around together. Benson is more go with the flow and waits for his turn for attention and turn to go in the stroller for a trip outside. His head wrinkles are the cutest and makes him look serious but he is just as goofy as the rest. Meet Kylo! Kylo is a two year old Shepherd mix. He is around 95 lbs of furry love and is very sweet and gentle. He gets along with with other dogs with a proper introduction, but would also be okay as an only dog. Kylo is very food and treat motivated. He is the gentlest boy when he takes treats from his foster family and loves playing with children. He loves to run and play and to snuggle up on the couch with his foster mom and dad. Kylo would do well in an active home and a handler that is familiar with working breed dogs. He isn’t food or toy possessive, but he does like to try to steal his foster dog siblings’ food if no one is watching! Kylo responds very well to correction from his humans. He knows ‘come’ ‘sit’, ‘down’, ‘leave it’, and ‘shake’. Kylo is working on crate training in his foster home, is super eager to please, and adores attention and belly rubs. He is potty trained and walks well on a leash with a prong collar, but like most working breed dogs, Kylo would benefit from consistency and continued training. No small animals (cats, small dogs, etc.) for this boy as he has a very strong prey drive. Kylo’s foster mom says he is the absolute sweetest boy and thinks he will make an amazing companion for his Fur-ever family! Once we’re out of the door, I’m just happy being out, smelling the grass, and feeling the breeze against my luscious locks! I’ve seen lots of cats and squirrels on my daily walks and am not reactive - just a bit curious. I also pass by lots of dogs and other dog owners are impressed by how cool, calm, and collected I am. I do have serious FOMO (fear of missing out) and I am a fence jumper if left alone in the backyard unattended. I’m just looking for my pack! I do fine when left at home during my foster humans’ work days. I know how to open all of their lever-handle doors and make myself quite comfortable on their bed or the couch when they’re gone (my long hair left behind is the giveaway - oh, and also the pillows that are thrown on the floor). I agree with my foster dad on this one - who needs decor pillows anyway?) I do enjoy car rides, especially with the windows down, and make an excellent shopping companion. Honestly, I just prefer being wherever you are! Because of my long hair, I need to be brushed daily and groomed occasionally. My foster mom joked and said I looked like a stegosaurus when I was first picked up because I had some pretty gnarly mats back there. I thoroughly enjoyed being brushed, especially on my chest. My foster humans pull off a baby shepherd each time they brush me, so having a vacuum (I’m not reactive to this either) close by is necessary! I am crate trained too. I prefer it when my foster humans give me an evening walk and then “wind down” with me in the living room while I am in my crate. I do settle down quickly and only whimper a little bit until I know all of the lights are out and they’re asleep too. Sweet and nice, loving all the cuddles, some cuddle longer than others but all want to make sure their people are around for all the love. They all play well with the big foster sisters, sometimes forgetting big fluffy tails are not chew toys. They each have an independent streak and sniff out their own fun in the backyard. However at nap time it is dog pile time in one bed (different body parts hang over.) They all already like being in the paddle pool or playing in the water bowl. Their favorite passtime is playing with sticks and frequently carry them around together. Sherlock, the gentle giant, is the largest and gaining weight fast. All puppies like to bite but Sherlock seems to already know teeth hurt and nibbles gently. Meet the levely Miss Soju! Soju is an almost 5 month old German Shepherd mix girl with a shy side. Weighing in at 30 pounds she is the little sister to Sake. Soju is a smart, sweet girl with toms of loyaty. She is a bit shy at first when meeting new people and dogs but she always warms up. She lays right next to you while her sister as our feet. Tank is such a good dog, sweet, loving and he is definitely an old soul! He even has a fan club, in fact Tank is currently being boarded at Brat Pack in Livermore and he is being sponsored by the owners of the facility. We are looking for a foster or adopter for Tank. He deserves to be loved and settled in a forever home. He is a gentle boy, submissive, sweet, good with dogs, cats, just a little shy when it comes to humans, but he is very loyal and quickly attaches himself to his people. We believe Tank is about 2.5 to 3 years old, he does take meds to help with his hips. He is not impaired, but it is noticeable when he walks or runs. He does not appeared to be any pain and it does not slow him down. Tank deserves to have an amazing family who will appreciate how amazing he is!
