Hi friends! My name is Wynton and the folks here say it’s time for me to find my forever family. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I’m 30 pounds of awesome and about five months old. I hear there’s a good chance I’m going to be a big guy, probably 70 to 90 pounds, by the time I’m done growing. They think I’m a Shepherd/Whippet mix and may have some Great Dane in my family tree. I say, whatever I am, I’m not bad to look at and I sure do try to be a very good boy. I hope my family gives me a rope toy; those are my favorite. I don’t even mind playing by myself if my foster mom is busy. This leash walking stuff is new, but I like it, especially when I walk along with my doggie housemates. Wouldn’t it be great if I had a new sister or brother to help me figure out all these new things? I admit, I can be shy around crowds, but otherwise, I really enjoy meeting all kinds of people, from the smallest to the tallest. Right now, I sleep on the floor at night and sometimes even in the big bed. That’s so cool. I don’t bark much, only sometimes after dark, when I hear something I’m not sure of. I love to run around and play. I’d really enjoy having enough space to stretch my long legs, plus lots of exercise and adventures. Ok, so this is embarrassing. Sometimes if I get startled or excited, I pee just a little. I’m pretty sure my foster mom is proud of me though because I can hold it all night now most of the time. It’s not easy, but I’m almost there. If you think you might like to take me home forever and ever, please submit an adoption application. Then, my adoption coordinator will contact you to arrange a time we can meet each other. I think you should hurry because my foster mom says she’d like to keep me forever. Hope to see you soon! If you are interested in meeting me, please fill out an adoption application and an adoption coordinator will be in contact! show less

Oscar is TRD's new dog on the block but this dog has been around the block a few times in his time. Oscar is an 12-year-old mini poodle and like fine wine, Oscar only gets better with age. Oscar came to us when his dad got cancer and couldn't provide for Oscar anymore. Oscar is a spunky healthy senior who has many happy and healthy years ahead of him, and he can’t wait to meet the perfect family to enjoy them with. Oscar has a sweet, mellow natured personality. He is also a professional grade snuggler. He enjoys playing with squeaky toys and will dance and toss them around! He is great with all adults, kids, female dogs, and cats too. He loves going on walks--walk time is pretty much his favorite time of the day. He is steady and relaxed on walks and has excellent leash manners. Oscar loves car rides, and for wanderlust adopters, he is going to be the best travel buddy. He weighs 11 lbs so he is lightweight and easy to take places. Oscar is house trained and his favorite place to sleep is curled up with a human. Oscar would be a perfect fit for a family looking for a kid-friendly, low-maintenance dog and a sweet temperament. If you would like to meet Oscar, please fill out an application on the The Rescued Dog website and an adoption coordinator will be in touch to schedule a meet and greet. show less

Mario is such an amazing puppy! He was found with his brother who had been hit by a car and was not able to walk. Both boys were in rough shape but Mario did all he could to keep Luigi safe and get them rescued. He's a modern day Lassie (is that too outdated for 2021?)!! Mario is a 3-4 month old lab/shepherd mix and we think he will be 40+ pounds when full grown. He does great with dogs, was in a foster home with a toddler and did well, but he was a little freaked out by his feline foster sister. Cats are scary!! Mario is great in his crate and doing really well on his potty training, but it is a work in progress. He had never been on a leash before and wasn't a fan at first, but he is getting the hang of it and loves walks. He would love a home with an active family who understands the importance of socialization and training for a young puppy. Mario is ready to be an amazing ambassador for rescue dogs, he really has so much potential. His current foster says he is the best puppy she has had in awhile, and she fosters a lot of puppies! Mario is sweet, loves to play, is not too clingy and in our eyes he is a hero! If you would like to meet Mario please fill out an adoption application on our website and his adoption coordinator will be in contact.  show less

Are you ready for a FURever friend to dance into your life? Meet Disco, a 13-14 week old Shepherd/Australian Shepherd mix! Disco is 10 pounds now, but likely to be 45 to 50 pounds. He is a very energetic dog and loves to run around outside. He knows how to fetch and he's crate-trained, and soon he will also be house-trained. Disco is still a curious puppy and occasionally pulls his leash to sniff around, but he's great with other dogs, kids, and any new people he meets. Since he's an extremely active and playful dog, sometimes you'll have to guide him back into his pen or crate, or else he'll just keep having fun! Disco has recently discovered his voice and is practicing using it! He enjoys attention so he will playfully bark now and then when he wants attention. After all, he is the life of the party! The ideal home for Disco would be an active home that has space for him to go outside and run around. A big bonus would be a home that has kids or other dogs to play with him because he's always down to play fetch and go on walks. Disco is a very happy pup that anyone would love to have, especially if you're someone who enjoys long walks and hikes. If you think you and Disco would be a good match, please fill out an adoption application on our website! https://therescueddog.org/adopt/adoption-application/ show less

Did you know that spots on dominoes are called “pips”? The spots on this Domino are called Abs-Adorb which stands for Absolutely Adorable! He is an Australian Shepherd/Shepherd mix who, don’t let his small 13 pound 3 month old stature fool you, he is estimated to get up to 45 - 55 pounds fully grown.  Domino loves morning and evening walks. He also loves playing ball and with a rope toy. Not only handsome, he is a pretty talented guy who is crate trained, potty trained AND does well on a leash! Known commands include sit, come & name recall. While we aren’t sure if he is good with cats, we do know he is good with kids, men, women and strangers!  Domino is a great dog! He is very food motivated and is currently learning how to take treats gently. He listens well and genuinely wants to do the right thing.  Domino’s ideal home is with an active family who will take him to parks to run around with other dogs. This will be especially important if he will not have a furry brother or sister. Well, I don’t know about you, but my heart has toppled over faster than a stack of dominoes for this sweetheart!  If you are interested in meeting Domino, please fill out an application at: https://therescueddog.org/adopt/adoption-application/ show less
