Looking for a little sweetness in your life? Meet the Candy puppies! Momma Candy is a sweet and spunky Jack Russell terrier-chihuahua mix who had 5 adorable puppies, Almond Joy, Baby Ruth, Heath, Snickers, and Twix. These little cuties are playful and fun, and ready for their forever homes. Almond Joy, fondly nicknamed "Bossy" in her foster home, is very much the leader of the pack and makes sure everyone knows it. She likes to be in charge when the puppies are playing. She also has a sweet side, and loves her people. We suspect these puppies will be around the same size as their mom, who is full grown at 15 pounds, but we don't know who their dad is, so it's too early to make any definite predictions. One thing we do know is that these puppies will be happy to be with families who give them plenty of love, exercise, and training! Welcome back Joey, a 2.5-year-old papillon-spaniel mix, and a professional napper, rescued by TRD in March 2018. This pint sized pupper weighs 7 pounds, which makes him a good fit for families in most living situations (apartments, houses, condos, etc.). Joey was adopted out about a year ago, but due to changes in his family's situation, Joey has returned to TRD, and is looking for a new forever family. Joey can initially shy and timid when meeting new people. But once he decides he likes you, he is very affectionate and cuddly. He is fine around dogs and cats, although he is not interested in playing with them. Joey would rather cuddle and sleep with his foster family all day everyday. Because of this, Joey might appreciate being the only dog in the home. To keep his svelte 7 pound body in shape, Joey likes to go leashed walks every morning. Joey is naturally good on the leash and has been non-reactive to new things he has encountered on walks. Meet Pablo! He is an 10-month-old chihuahua-spaniel mix puppy rescued by TRD in September 2018. Pablo currently weighs 5-6 pounds and his full grown weight is expected to be around 15-20 pounds. Pablo is a spunky, lovable goofball. Within a few short weeks, he wooed the adults, kids, and dogs in his foster home. He is extremely social--he enjoys going out (car rides are his favorite) and loves to meet new people. He has been great interacting with other dogs too and would thrive in a busy household with kids and other dogs. Despite his small stature, he is active and loves to run around the yard. He is also an expert cuddler and likes to sit on his foster mom's lap. Pablo's foster family is working on basic puppy training with him. He is picking up crate training and house training. He is also learning new commands like Sit and Stay. Pablo is treat motivated so training him is easy and fun. Like most puppies, Pablo loves to chew on everything in sight--but he responds well when he is redirected to a chew toy. His forever family will need to continue his puppy training. We are pleased to introduce Betty to the world, and she is very pleased to meet everybody! We first found Betty at a local shelter in December 2018, but sadly she contracted parvovirus and she to be quarantined while she battled her serious illness. We were thrilled to return to the shelter and find her healthy and ready to be rescued this February. At about ten months old, Betty still has plenty of puppy energy. She loves to play with other dogs and people, and she enjoys walks and hikes. She loves to give kisses to her human and dog friends. As a puppy, she is still mouthy with people, and likes to chew on things, but she is happily redirected to her favorite Nylabone or a rawhide. She will do best in a home with older children and no cats. Betty is about 20 pounds at 10 months old, and we believe she is more or less full grown. Zozo is TRD's new dog on the block but this dog has been around the block a few times in his time. Zozo is an 11-year-old Bichon Frise mix and like fine wine, Zozo only gets better with age. Zozo came to us when his family fell on hard times and couldn't provide for Zozo anymore. Zozo is a spunky healthy senior who has many happy and healthy years ahead of him, and he can’t wait to meet the perfect family to enjoy them with. Zozo has a sweet, mellow natured personality. He is also a professional grade snuggler. He is not really interested in toys (that's for silly puppies); Zozo would rather engage in a heart to heart conversation with you. Buddy had a bit of a rough start, and shows some signs of shyness with new people and new dogs. His foster mom is working diligently to show Buddy the world and socialize him a lot! Buddy lives with two dogs and they are definitely showing him the ropes! Buddy also attended a recent TRD event with dogs and humans and did great. He will continue to overcome his shyness with lots of practice. Buddy has pretty good leash manners, although can get distracted from time to time and pull. He is easily corrected though. He is very connected to his humans, so training Buddy will be easy and fun. Buddy loves a good car ride, and is happy to hit the road. What he loves most, though, is snuggle time with his people. This guy is a sweet and soulful friend who will always be by your side. Looking for a cute and low-maintenance love bug? Meet Arthur! Arthur is a sweet guy who gets along well with other dogs but really loves his human friends. We don't think Arthur has had too much exposure to the world in his short 2 years. When he first landed in his foster home, it seemed like he didn't know what it was like to be on leash. He has been catching on quickly, though, and enjoys a good jaunt with his foster mom. Mostly, though, this guy is all about snuggle time. He really loves cuddling and being pet, and will hang out endlessly with his human pals for that. Arthur is a little timid when he first meets new people, but it doesn't take long for him to relax and jump in your lap. Arthur is in the tail end (pun intended) of puppyhood, and still occasionally chews on inappropriate items. He is easily redirected though, and is happy to chew on his chew toys instead. Introducing TRD's latest recruit, Luna. Luna is a 5-pound chihuahua-terrier mix who came to TRD when a Good Samaritan rescued her from a less-than-ideal living situation. Luna was only a few weeks old and so tiny she could fit in a shirt pocket. Her foster family cared for her round the clock and she is now a romping stomping healthy puppy! Luna has now graduated to fitting in her foster mom's sweatshirt pocket. Luna's full grown weight should be under 10 pounds. Luna may be tiny, but she is mighty. She is spunky and loves to play. She is energetic like most puppies and loves to run around in her foster family's yard. She wrestles with her canine foster brother and is generally friendly with all dogs she meets. Her favorite game is "Fetch". She loves meeting new people, and showers them with the sweetest puppy kisses. She has a pleasing personality which makes her a good fit for most families. She will thrive in a home with other dogs but will do just fine on her own too. Luna is currently working on her potty training and house training. She is also working on crate training, and her family will want to continue to work on this with her. All TRD adoptions come with a coaching session with a trainer and with Luna crate training will be an important focus. Luna understands Come and Name Recall.
