Meet our adorable Game of Thrones puppies! Mom Cersei came to us very pregnant and in spite of her diminutive size soon gave birth to seven (!) healthy puppies. These chihuahua mixes each have beautiful and unique markings, and at 8 weeks range in weight from 2.5 to 4 pounds. Mom Cersei is about 10 pounds. These fun-loving pups do the typical puppy stuff--wrestle, eat, sleep, repeat. They will need the usual puppy training, including potty training. They currently live together in an x-pen together and use pee pads. They also have a canine foster sister, who they get along with very well. According to her foster mom, Sansa likes playing and exploring. She prefers to be right with her human friends and not confined in the x-pen. Too much to do and see! Beautiful Mika came to TRD last year from a shelter in Louisiana after Hurricane Harvey struck in September 2017. Mika is a beautiful shepherd-husky mix who weighs in at around 30 pounds. Mika is about 3 years old as of August 2018. She is quite the head turner with her rich white coat and beautiful soulful eyes. She is svelte and sporty, and has a lot of fun at dog parks with her canine buddies. She is working on her leash manners, and does have some leash reactivity she is working on with her foster family. Once she's had some exercise, Mika is ready to wind down with her people. She is a loving, snuggly girl. Mika is very smart and quickly took to crate training and mastered her house training. She knows a few commands, including sit, come, stay, and down. She is also a big fan of dog toys, is generally very playful, and has a sweet and silly personality. Mika also has shown that she is very friendly with cats and also does really well with small children. Mika has been with a family for the last year, but is proving to be incompatible with the resident dog because of her energy. Mika is great at the dog park with other dogs but may appreciate being an only dog when it's time to go home. Adorable Dobby is full of love and fun, and ready for his new family. According to his foster family, Dobby is just a sweet, happy, good dog. His curly tail is always wagging, even when all you do is make eye contact with him. Dobby is an expert cuddler, and also plays a mean game of fetch. He is good at the "drop it" command. Even though Dobby is 4 years old, he really acts and plays like a one-year-old puppy. Dobby gets along great with the resident canine, cat, and kids in his foster home. He has a fun and playful demeanor but knows when it's time to wind down and hit the couch with the family. This guy will be a great companion for anyone looking for a friend to bring along on all of life's adventures. Weighing in at 10 pounds, this pint-sized buddy is big on fun and personality! Rebel with a cause! Meet Bella, one of our adorable puppies from the "Twilight" puppy pack. She is a terrier and lab mix weighing in at 6 pounds as of August 2018. At 9 weeks old, she is quick-thinking, fun-loving, and engaging. Bella is an energetic, determined, playful, and an independent puppy. Her favorite activity is playing fetch with her squeaky toys. She also holds an equal fascination with rawhides, leaves, and bushes. Stimulation for her quick mind is necessary as she is at an age with excess amount of energy and curiosity. Meet Monte! Monte and his sister Mexi came to TRD from the Humane Society of Imperial County. At 16 weeks old, Monte is ready for his new forever family and a lifetime of love! Monte's foster mom reports that Is a love bug and will make a great lap dog. This little cutie is smart and fun and will learn new things quickly. He's only a few pounds at 16 weeks old, and we don't think he will grow much more that 10-15 full grown. Monte and his sister have fun hanging out together, and may like having a canine sibling to show them the ropes. Unleash the cuteness from within! Meet Emmett, one of the six puppies from the “Twilight” puppy pack. He is terrier and lab mix weighing in at 8 pounds as of August 2018. At 9 weeks old, his soft-natured and gentle personality is emerging and his “skunk” like markings on his head makes him irresistible to everyone. He is crate-trained, but not quite house-trained (he's working on it!). He is passive and eager to please and is at a perfect age for firm, fair, and consistent training. Emmett loves being outdoors and playing in water. Always mindful and alert, Emmett's sweetness is palpable; he typically stays close to his human companion. He will be a complement to a relaxed household and fit beautifully into a home environment with children and other dogs. Meet Romeo, a handsome min pin mix who came to TRD when his owner could no longer take care of him. True to his breed, Romeo is outgoing, affectionate, and energetic. He has a goofy personality and a winning smile. Romeo is very loving with his people and enjoys a good cuddle. Romeo is learning the rules of his foster house, and has taken well to crate training. This has been especially useful with his house training, which he is working on mastering. Romeo does sometimes get anxious and excited when his people come and go, but he and his foster family are working on some calming techniques with great success. As Romeo acclimates more and more to his surroundings, he anticipate that these issues will dissipate. Romeo is athletic and loves a good walk. He sometimes pulls a little on leash but is easily corrected. Romeo is about 20 pounds, and at 5 years young he is ready to start a new life with his new forever family. Meet the adorable Twilight litter! These beautiful lab-terrier mixes came to TRD from a fellow rescue group who needed assistance. These little beauties are fun, smart, and spunky, and at 9 weeks old as of early August, they are ready to start their new lives with their forever families. According to her foster family, Rosalie is spunky and courageous. She learned how to go up and down stairs within her first week at her foster home. Rosalie is very confident--she hangs tough with the big dogs and rough houses with her older, bigger canine foster siblings. Rosalie is working on her potty training already, and is acclimated to the crate. These beautiful puppies will be smart and athletic, and are looking for fun and active families ready to take them walking, running, and hiking. Meet the adorable Twilight litter! These beautiful lab-border collie mixes came to TRD from a fellow rescue group who needed assistance. These little beauties are fun, smart, and spunky, and at 9 weeks old as of early August, they are ready to start their new lives with their forever families. Carlisle is a handsome smooth coated puppy who is currently living in his foster home with another adult dog and his litter mate Embry. Carlisle's foster mom reports that he is very mellow for a puppy, and he likes to snuggle. Carlisle is good-natured and plays gently with his canine sibling and foster sibling. He is a very easy-going puppy. He is also very people oriented, and wants to be with his human friends whenever he can. Meet Hazelnut, of the Nut litter! Hazelnut and her siblings were rescued from a local shelter when their mom starting turning on her newborn litter of 9 puppies. Six of these adorable pups came to TRD at the tender young age of two weeks and have been bottle fed and cared for by our amazing fosters. Now these puppies are romping, stomping, ready-to-roll seven-week-olds (as of early August). The mom of the litter is a beautiful German shepherd dog, and we are not sure about the dad. Some of the puppies look like labs, and some look like husky. One thing is for sure--they are all adorable! Hazel is the bossy little sister of the bunch. She has lots of spunk and doesn't let her brothers get away with anything. She is smart and sweet and has more of the lab look to her. She has been hanging out in her foster home with two of her brothers, as well as 3 adult canine foster siblings, 2 cats and a kitten, and a toddler (and his adult humans). Safe to say Hazel is getting well socialized in her young life! We can't wait to see how these little cuties turn out. It's hard to predict their adult size, but we believe they will be in the extra large range. Are you looking to adopt a feisty little nugget who will bring you all the joys of puppyhood with a tablespoon of spunk? Then look no further--Pelly is the puppy you need. Pelly came to TRD from a local shelter in July 2018 and at 4 months of age, she currently weighs under 5 pounds. Pelly is a border terrier mix and should top out around 15-20 pounds full grown. Although she is a tiny dog, she has a big personality. She is spunky and her silly antics make her even more adorable. She is great with humans and dogs in her foster home. She is incredibly patient in earning the trust of other dogs, which makes her a great fit for a family that already has dogs. She loves to run around the house with other dogs. And if she is alone, she entertains herself by hopping around the yard until she tires out. She loves to play with rope toys and chew on bullysticks and other animal chews. Pelly is crate trained and is working on her potty training. She is learning to potty outside but like most distracted puppies, she has accidents every now and then. She has also picked up a few commands like Come and Name Recall. Pelly has a tendency to chew on inappropriate items around the house (like furniture, rugs and her foster mom's toes) which is another classic puppy behavior. However, she responds well to redirection. Her forever family will have to continue to train Pelly so that she grows into a well behaved doggo. Ready for some cuteness overload?! Meet Wesley, an adorable beagle puppy who came to TRD from the Humane Society of Imperial County. Wesley is about 12 weeks old as of late July 2018, and weighs in at a whooping 4 pounds. He is a fun and friendly puppy looking for an active forever family. According to his foster family, Wesley is an all-around happy confident dog and his confidence makes him easy to train and socialize. He is always ready to meet new people, loves to play with his foster canine sibling (despite a big size difference!), and loves to cuddle. He is doing great with his crate training and he does well on car rides. He is playful and will do well in a family that has another playful dog or a family that brings him to to the park and the beach, and out and about in general. Attention Schnauzer lovers! Yuki is TRD's latest recruit, joining the foster pack from the Imperial County Shelter. Yuki is a three-year-old Schnauzer full grown at 20 pounds, which makes her a good fit for most living situations. Yuki is calm and patient and loves to be around her people. She is great with adults, kids and dogs in her foster home. True to her breed, Yuki is a real smart cookie and has picked up more than a few tricks and commands within a few weeks in her foster home. She has excellent name recall and responds to commands like Sit, Stay, and Come. Yuki has also mastered crate training and house training, which should make her transition to her forever home easier. Her foster family has introduced her to the local dog park and dog beach where Yuki has been a total hit. She plays well with dogs her size. To keep her schnauzer body in shape, Yuki enjoys walks in her neighborhood twice a day. She is calm and non-reactive on the leash. She occasionally does get intrigued by a dog or a person and stops and stares at them but responds well to redirection. If you are looking for a sweet and smart dog to add to your pack, Yuki might be the one for you.
