Are you looking for a sociable and mischievous friend? Meet Mocha, a 10-month-old beagle. Mocha was owner surrendered from a family that was unable to care for her needs. Mocha grew up in a backyard and it’s evident she had little socialization outside of her home. Because of this, Mocha would do best in a home with a confident male dog to show her the ropes. Despite her lack of early socialization, true to her breed Mocha loves meeting people!  Beagles love to be part of the action, and Mocha is no exception to this beagle trait. She loves attention from her people and likes to be near her canine dog friends. Because of this, Mocha would not do well as an only dog or in a home where she would be left alone for 8 hours a day. Mocha is very playful and loves fetching tennis balls, playing tug, and roughhousing with her canine siblings. Mocha would love to be part of an active household, as she is not a lapdog or couch potato.  After being in her foster home, Mocha is now crate trained, 90% potty trained and she can walk on a leash and follow her human. When out for walks, Mocha is learning how to follow her human and not the many scent trails - a work in progress.  If you are interested in adopting Mocha, please fill out an application at: https://therescueddog.org/adopt/adoption-application/ Prior beagle experience is preferred. show less

Hey everyone. I’m so excited because it’s time for me to find a special family to call my own. If you are looking for a pup that’s as sweet as can be and has lots of love to give, I’m your girl. My friends at TRD say I’m a smart, energetic, goofy, happy four-month-old and 22 pounds of pure puppy adorableness. I’m a Lab/Boxer mix, whatever that means. I’m pretty darn cute if I do say so myself. Even though I’m getting bigger, I still really enjoy being picked up and cuddled. I’d love to have my very own family to take me on walks, to the dog park, or just to hang out at home. People love me and I love them. I also love, love, love other doggies, so having a doggy brother or sister would be great. But, if it’s just me and my new people that works too. I just want to be close to my new family all the time, so I don’t miss any of the fun. My favorite toys are, well, all of them. And, if I don’t have one handy, a high-quality stick works for me. If you tell me to “get it” consider it got. I love learning new things. Foster Mom says I’m a smart girl. I understand commands like “sit”, “down”, and “off”. I’m even learning how to “roll over”. I’m good at walking on a leash with a harness and I’ve even been out and about without a leash sometimes. I always try to keep an eye on my people and listen very well. I’d love a yard where I can do my zoomies, roll around in the grass, and play, play, play. I know I still have some things to work on, but I promise to do my very best. I’m so excited to meet you! Meet Winky! This adorable large breed great dane/shepherd pup is ready for her forever home. Winky loves to play with her humans, foster dog siblings and also self entertains with her chew toys. She's a sweet, athletic girl who is crate trained, potty trained and good with dogs. At 8-9 months old and 60 pounds she'll likely be 70-75 lbs when full grown. Winky can overwhelmed with too much stimulation like noisy environments or around multiple dogs, but she has done really well with repeated exposure. Winky will thrive with a family who understands and respects her needs. Leash walking and confidence building will need to be part of her training program. We think she will thrive in a house with a fenced yard and hopefully another  dog to pal around with and show her the ropes while she matures. She is currently fostered with a big Labrador retriever, an older small dog, and has been around several small puppies. She has been amazing at adjusting her play to all.    Winky came to us with some neurological symptoms. She had multiple medical exams and testing but there was no obvious cause or medical condition found for her symptoms. She is a goofy, happy, healthy pup with some minor neuro dysfunction. Winky is looking for a family that will accept her and patiently work with her, keep her safe and help her to flourish. If you would like to meet this special girl, please fill out an application on our website. show less

Get ready to have your heart melted by the puppies from the Brady Bunch Litter! The Brady Bunch puppies are likely Dachshund/Chihuahua mixes and shaping up to be medium sized adult dogs. All the puppies are all fun, energetic, playful, affectionate and intelligent! They love cuddling, belly rubs, exploring in the backyard at their foster home and all the normal puppy play. The puppies enjoy playing with their canine foster big brother, their siblings and toys. They get along with other dogs, humans and children. The puppies are working on crate training and potty training. Jan in particular is super energetic. She loves to play and would love a family that can keep up with her energy level! As young puppies, they are still inclined to chew on things they shouldn't, but they are easily redirected with one of their toys. We expect she will get to be about 20-30 pounds when full grown. The puppies were born Nov. 22, 2021 are almost 8 weeks old and ready to start life with their new forever families. The Brady Bunch mom is Emery, who was rescued just in time! She was about to be euthanized at the shelter! After she was settled into her foster home, her foster was surprised when Emery kept gaining weight and began looking pregnant! We are so glad we were able to rescue her and her puppies! THE BOYS: PETER is playful, happy go lucky and confident. He loves chew toys, snuggles and belly rubs! He is the biggest boy of the bunch!  GREG is playful, loves chew toys, loves people, snuggles and belly rubs. Greg loves to wrestle with his siblings and vocalize some while playing! He is a little more energetic than the other pups in the litter. Greg is one of the mid size pups in the litter.  BOBBY is a bouncy puppy, very playful, energetic, loves chew toys, literally hops around (all 4 feet off the ground) when excited, loves people, snuggles, belly rubs. He loves to wrestle with his siblings and vocalize some while playing! He is the most entertaining of the group, when he is in play mode he is everywhere ... very quickly ... until he passes out. Bobby is one of the mid size pups in the litter. THE GIRLS: MARSHA is confident, easy going and playful. She loves snuggles and belly rubs! Sometimes Marsha sits up on her back legs and looks just like a little bear! She takes her time getting to know new people and environments and then she’s good to go! She is the biggest girl of the bunch. JAN is playful, loves chew toys, literally hops around (all 4 feet off the ground) when excited. She loves people, snuggles, belly rubs. Jan loves to wrestle with her siblings and vocalize some while playing! She is the most adventurous of the group and the first to explore. Jan is one of the mid size pups in the litter. CINDY is the baby of the group; she is getting pretty bold finally, she is the shyest but does join the group in wrestling... even with her canine foster brother. She loves her toys and sleeps on them often. She can be a little shy at first but once she’s comfortable with you, she warms up and shows her true personality! Cindy is the smallest of the group. The puppies have been very good about learning how to be great pups but will require basic puppy training and lots of love and guidance to become the best pups they can be. All training is an ongoing process and they will need encouragement and positive reinforcement for continued success. If you would like to meet any of the Brady Bunch puppies, please fill out an application on the TRD website and an adoption coordinator will be in touch to schedule a meet and greet. show less

Hi friends! My name is Wynton and the folks here say it’s time for me to find my forever family. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I’m 30 pounds of awesome and about five months old. I hear there’s a good chance I’m going to be a big guy, probably 70 to 90 pounds, by the time I’m done growing. They think I’m a Shepherd/Whippet mix and may have some Great Dane in my family tree. I say, whatever I am, I’m not bad to look at and I sure do try to be a very good boy. I hope my family gives me a rope toy; those are my favorite. I don’t even mind playing by myself if my foster mom is busy. This leash walking stuff is new, but I like it, especially when I walk along with my doggie housemates. Wouldn’t it be great if I had a new sister or brother to help me figure out all these new things? I admit, I can be shy around crowds, but otherwise, I really enjoy meeting all kinds of people, from the smallest to the tallest. Right now, I sleep on the floor at night and sometimes even in the big bed. That’s so cool. I don’t bark much, only sometimes after dark, when I hear something I’m not sure of. I love to run around and play. I’d really enjoy having enough space to stretch my long legs, plus lots of exercise and adventures. Ok, so this is embarrassing. Sometimes if I get startled or excited, I pee just a little. I’m pretty sure my foster mom is proud of me though because I can hold it all night now most of the time. It’s not easy, but I’m almost there. If you think you might like to take me home forever and ever, please submit an adoption application. Then, my adoption coordinator will contact you to arrange a time we can meet each other. I think you should hurry because my foster mom says she’d like to keep me forever. Hope to see you soon! If you are interested in meeting me, please fill out an adoption application and an adoption coordinator will be in contact! show less
