Adorable pug alert! Dimitri came to TRD from a local shelter. He has all the pug puppy personality you can imagine. He has a lot of spunk too, and has a pretty high energy level for his small frame. This guy is a fun-loving adventure pup. He also likes a good snuggle with his people. It's pretty clear that while Dimitri has all the personality and charm you'd expect from a pug, he has not had a lot of guidance from humans in his first year of life. He has been working on his basic skills with his foster family, and he gets better every day. He is getting better all the time on leash, but he still gets a little distracted with all the good smells out there! He is not reactive to other dogs when he's out and about. He does get excited when he meets new people, and has a tendency to jump up on people. He can't help it--he loves his humans! Dimitri knows Sit and would love to find a forever family who will continue training with him. Dimitri is house trained and crate trained. He weighs in at about 18 pounds at one year old, and he should put on a few more pounds to be at his ideal weight (he's working on it!) If you would like to meet Dimitri, please fill out an adoption application on the TRD website and an adoption coordinator will be in touch to schedule a meet and greet. show less

HI-YA!! Introducing Karate! He's a one-year-old pup rescued by TRD from a local shelter in June 2019. Karate is a Dachshund-Cairn Terrier mix and weighs about 10 pounds. Don't think of him as a small dog though--Karate can wrestle with dogs bigger than him (that's why we named him Karate). Karate is great with humans and dogs in his foster home. He is quite energetic and loves to play with his canine siblings in the house and the backyard. With the humans, he is a sweet and cuddly dog. He loves to be loved. He also loves his Nylabones. He is energetic at playtime but can easily chill when his humans are resting. With his temperament, he will make a terrific addition to a family looking for a small breed pup. He will thrive in a home with another dog. Karate is almost house trained and crate trained. He sleeps in his crate during the night and also during the day when his foster family is out. He has been good on the leash, but he needs a harness as he gets excited when he sees dogs on his walk. Karate occasionally chews on shoes and other household items--redirection to a Nylabone or another toy works well. He is also picking up a few commands like Sit, Stay, and others. Karate is a happy-go-easy pup who is over glad to be over his days as a stray and in the shelter. He just needs a family that will love and cherish him forever to make his life complete. And in return, he promises to love them 5000 times more. If you would like to meet Karate, please fill out an application on the TRD website and an adoption coordinator will be in touch to schedule a meet and greet. show less

Hi, my name is Otto. I’m a playful 10 month old male weimaraner. Currently I weigh 64 lbs, but they think I will be 70-75 lbs when fully grown. I came into the rescue when my former family’s landlord found out about me…. oops! Before that, I had a handful of other homes. Unfortunately most people don’t understand how much exercise and training a weimaraner puppy needs. People see our beauty, but forget we are hunting dogs bred for endurance. Luckily my current foster family has been helping me learn to be a good house dog. I am now crate trained, house trained, and am working on my obedience. When they first got me, I was petrified of getting into cars and acted like a 64 lb sack of potatoes! After lots of work, I now enjoy going for car rides with the foster family. The foster family affectionately calls me “Pony” because I love to prance through the house with a toy in my mouth. My favorite past times are playing with the other dogs in the home and playing tug-of-war with the humans. Although the rescue hasn’t cat tested me, my previous owners said I used to sleep with a feral cat in the back yard. My ideal family would be very active, include me in all adventures, keep me mentally engaged, and have previous experience with my breed. I am goofy, a bit aloof, and very busy!
