She is crate trained, but she doesn’t love it, working on her potty training, and loves everyone she meets. Ursula is very food motivated so training will be easy. Hi! I’m Aspen. As you can see from my pictures I’m adorable. You’d probably never suspect I was a stray and was saved from Riverside shelter where I was almost euthanized because I had a broken pelvis. The Rescued Dog got me right to an orthopedic surgeon to repair my injuries; I got a brand new hip and I feel fantastic now! My future forever family should know though I may need more orthopedic care later in life. I am only a year(ish) old and a slim 30 lbs. I have tons of puppy energy and behavior still- it’s probably because I’ve never lived with humans or had to listen to them, so my foster mom is trying to help me become a good listener (it’s hard work). So far I’ve never met a dog I don’t like but when I’m on a leash and see a dog I sort of freak out so my mom is trying to help me focus and remain calm. (She says I’ll need focused and consistent work with this) My forever family should know that I do like to play a lot, so if you have another dog they better be playful. I also love to snuggle and I love affection. I love car rides, I don’t mind baths, I’m potty trained, crate trained and I’m sweet as pie. Also, not trying to toot my own horn but, I am super smart. I learned “sit” in like one second. Please know though, I do need a lot of interaction, mental stimulation, training and physical exercise to become the best pup for you!!! Meet Bam Bam, a sweet and loving young pup full of playful energy! Bam Bam is a beagle/boxer mix who came to us from Mexicali, where a rescue partner saved him and his sister from the street. In his foster home, Bam Bam has enjoyed playing with other dogs in the yard, and occasional trips to the dog park. He likes to play fetch with a ball, and is energetic in the presence of other playful dogs. During down-time, he is happy to be calm and lay by himself for a snooze. He can be nervous meeting new people for the first time, but he is quick to warm up. He is good with adults and children alike. Bam Bam is crate-trained and potty-trained. If you are looking for a small pup with a big personality, we may have just the little guy for you. At 4 months, Oreo, a petite terrier mix, is ready to find his forever family. Oreo weighs in at 4 pounds and is expected to be less than 15 pounds when full grown. Oreo's foster Mom describes him as fearless, curious, and feisty. He is also a bit of an escape artist and loves to explore his surroundings. Oreo is very friendly and enjoys napping on his humans after running off his puppy energy. He gets along great with other dogs and cats. Oreo recently suffered a broken leg from an accident. He is quick and likes to be under foot. He does well with the children in his home but will need to be in a home with older kids who can be careful around such a small pup. Oreo loves to rumble with other pups, even though he is the smallest guy in the mix. We hear he also makes some very funny noises while expressing his strong opinions. Being a youngster, Oreo really needs to have something to chew on to give his teeth a workout. He has just started walking on a leash. We hear he is doing very well for a rookie. Oreo is still mastering his house training, so a living situation where he is only alone for a short time and can go outside often would be best. This little guy gets tons of attention when he is out on the town because of he is so cute, tiny and full of energy. If you are looking for a cuddle buddy who is sweet as sugar, Sunny may be the love-bug for you! 1.5 year-old Sunny was taken in off the streets by a fellow rescuer in Mexico who cared for her before getting her to us here in San Diego. While in a foster home, she has proven to be easy-going and well-mannered around other dogs and people (including children). At 33 pounds, she is the perfect size to lie next to you on the couch and snuggle. She is good on leash (with a harness), showing no reactivity to other dogs, although she has seemed overly interested in cats. She is very food-motivated, so she will enjoy learning some training with the use of treats. She is crate trained, and she is working on mastering potty-training. Most importantly, Sunny loves her people, and she cannot wait to find her forever home and begin showering her human companions with love and affection. Someone threw them over a fence when they were 4 weeks old to get rid of them. Thankfully they landed softly, and wound up in the hands of fellow rescuers, who asked TRD for assistance in adopting these cuties out. These puppies as quintessential puppies, and live up to the Mischief Makers theme! They are all fun, energetic, playful, affectionate, and intelligent! They love cuddling, exploring in the backyard at their foster home, and all the normal puppy play. These puppies are 8 weeks old as of late June 2019, and ready to start life with their new forever families. We believe these puppies are shepherd mixes, and they are shaping up to be large adult dogs. DeLuna is sweet, playful, loving, cuddly, and enjoys laps and snuggles. Are you looking for a little mischief in your life? Meet Pink Panther, of the Mischief Makers litter! Pink Panther and her litter mates has a rough start. Someone threw them over a fence when they were 4 weeks old to get rid of them. Thankfully they landed softly, and wound up in the hands of fellow rescuers, who asked TRD for assistance in adopting these cuties out. At six months old, Panther is fun, energetic, playful, affectionate, and intelligent! We believe Pink Panther is a shepherd mix, and she is shaping up to be a large adult dog. At 6 months old as of November, she is around 40 pounds, and we expect her to be around 75 pounds full grown. According to her foster mom, Panther is the sweetest girl! She is so loving and playful, and very easy going. Panther also has a goofy side, and is very inquisitive. Panther wants to be in the center of everything but is happy to observe from the center. She has been known to do an adorable head tilt when she is being inquisitive. Panther is very gentle taking treats from the hand, and she is also gentle with small dogs and small puppies. She adjusts her play to be appropriate with the dog she is playing with with some reminding. Panther Is obedient and listens well, but she is a puppy still, and is in the puppy stage of ignoring at the same time. She really is as smart as can be though, and will learn training and tricks quickly with her new family! Pink Panther seems most comfortable and confident with other dogs around, so we would love to see her go home to a family who already has a dog in the home. Mr. Bond came to us from one of our rescue partners in Mexicali, who saved him from a life on the streets. We think he is part dachshund and part pit bull, and he weighs in at about 15.5 pounds at 8 months old, which means he will be around 20-25 pounds full grown. He is sweet and playful, and good with other dogs, cats, and children. He is a little shy to warm up to people at first and could use some help learning how to socialize. As a young pup he will learn quickly if he's given the right guidance. As a young dog, he is fond of chewing on things, so he will need to be supervised when roaming around the house. When it's time to settle down, Bond is calm and happy to relax, and doesn't bark much. His foster family says he does well on leash and in a crate, and is working on mastering potty training. Meet the incredibly handsome Bo! This sweet and good-looking Maltese boy is a little shy at first, but once he gets to know you, he is full of personality! Being very verbal, Bo will tell you all about his day when you get home from work. He loves walks, playing fetch, snoozing on his back, and car rides! He may need a booster seat, but is not shy about sticking his head out the window to feel the breeze in his face! Bo is housebroken, crate trained, and has a slew of tricks up his sleeve. He likes a good walk and has made a lot of progress on his reactivity on walks. A perfect match with Bo would be a strong leader without young children to continue enforcing his training. Meet Lala, a ridiculously cute terrier mix rescued from Mexico. Lala is almost three years old and weighs about 15 pounds. Lala is relaxed and easy going. She loves to nap and cuddle. She is house trained and crate trained. Lala doesn't mind staying alone at home when her humans leave. She is always happy to greet her humans when they are back. Lala likes to play games with her humans but mostly prefers lounging on her favorite couch. Unique and handsome Sandwich first came to TRD from a local shelter as a puppy. He was adopted out, but under socialized in his new home, and he developed issues with the other resident dog, and a lack of confidence in general, which led to his return to TRD. Sandwich is now almost 2 years old, and weighs in at around 80 pounds. We decided to be very proactive with Sandwich's rehab. This guy has a soft spot in our hearts and we want to make sure he gets the chance that he deserves at his best life. Sandwich recently completed a comprehensive board and train program with the Hope 2K9 Foundation. They learned a lot about Sandwich as they worked with him to get him ready for his new forever home. Our friends at Hope 2K9 report that Sandwich is very playful and silly, and he thrives with direction and structure. Sandwich is looking for a home without other pets for now, where his adopter is excited to bond with him and continue building his confidence through any number of activities such as hiking, running, learning agility, or even a good game of tug. Our Hope 2K9 friends worked on many skills with Sandwich. Sandwich is crate trained; is on- and off-leash trained; comes when called; can hold down/stay for an extended length of time; and knows to give up resources on command (food, toys, items he’s smelling). Sandwich tends to be nervous about anything new, and needs patience and guidance to process "scary stuff". Sandwich bonds tightly to his humans once he becomes familiar with them. He is playful and energetic, but doesn’t demand a ton of physical outlet. Although we recommend that Sandwich be the only dog in his new home (that will give him the gentlest transition to his new life), he has put a lot of work into socializing with other dogs.
