Meet Foster! This adorable 8-week-old mixed breed puppy is bursting with joy and energy. With possible hound in the mix, Foster is already showing off his happy and friendly personality. He loves everyone he meets - dogs, cats, people, and kids alike! He is expected to grow to a medium sized dog.  As a young pup, Foster is a blank slate just waiting for proper training and socialization to grow into a wonderful dog. Foster is medically up-to-date, crate trained, and working very hard on house training. Apply to meet this sweet boy today!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. Meet Gidget, a super sweet 1-2 year old spayed female corgi, weighing about 28 lbs! This pretty girl is uniquely colored, with tan/white on most of her body and blue Merle on her back and extending to her sides. Gidget was a former breeder dog and ended up in rescue after her prior owners decided to stop breeding. She is currently being fostered in TN and will be heading up to New England soon to find her furever home! Gidget is a very sweet, friendly girl with an excellent temperament! She gets along GREAT with other dogs, not cat tested but we feel she would likely be fine with cats. Good with kids who know to respect a dog's space. She is mellow and laid back, an absolute gem of dog! Gidget is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained.  Please note: We expect A LOT of interest in Gidget! We are accepting applications on her now and will work hard to match her to the best home for her. Meet Maddie and Tom, a bonded sibling pair of Ragdoll/Siamese mix cats! These two cuties are 5 years old and have been together since birth. They have been loved and well cared for but, due to changes in their family, their owner is no longer able to give them the time and attention that they deserve. Maddie and Tom are now searching for a new furever home, where they can spend the rest of their days together.  Both cats are very friendly, but Tom (aka Tommy) is more social. They play and sleep together. Maddie will hide and is shy at times, but warms up to new people after getting to know them. Tommy will walk right up to new people. Both cats like to play fetch with paper toys and have a puppy mindset. They are very sweet and affectionate cats who need a lot of pets and love. Both cats are spayed/neutered, medically up to date, and litter box trained. They would do best in a home with older kids 8+ who know to respect a cat's space, or no kids. They have not been around other cats or dogs, so we are unsure how they would do with other animals. Meet Keira, a STUNNING ~1 year old spayed female Malamute/Husky mix, weighing 65-70 lbs! Not only is she sweet, but this floofy girl could be a tail model with her gorgeous flowing tail!  Keira has sadly spent most of her life tied to a chain outdoors, and she is still learning how to be a dog. She LOVES other dogs and people (not cat tested), and will follow you around wherever you go. Due to her size, we recommend older kids 8+ (as she may unintentionally knock over small children).  If you are looking for a Velcro dog who gets along with everyone, Keira is your girl! She would love a doggo sibling(s) to show her the ropes and to keep her company. She is medically up to date, mostly housebroken (she has been using a dog in her TN foster home), and working on crate training . Meet Roo, a 1 handsome year old neutered male Husky mix bursting with energy and charm! This 42-pound bundle of joy is always ready for action, thriving on playtime and adventure. With his perfect mix of Husky independence and goofy puppy spirit, Roo loves to play fetch, tug-of-war, and will even bring you toys to throw, gently placing them nearby and waiting (or reminding you) to get the game going. Roo is play motivated, and play is how he connects and feels happiest. Despite his high energy, he is surprisingly low-maintenance – he loves toys but won't destroy them, and he's even learned to play alone, joyfully tossing toys in the air and chasing them!  While Roo isn't a "cuddly" dog in the classical sense, he still enjoys being close to his humans, often "helping" in the garden by sticking close and watching everything you do (occasionally demanding payment in leaves to nibble on). He is working on leash training, has the basics down, and is trying hard to contain his excitement while walking. Roo respects other dogs and, with his gentle mouth and playful nature, would likely do great with children. He approaches cats with curiosity, so dog-savvy felines might be a good fit. This intelligent pup is incredibly smart and expressive, using subtle cues like staring or soft whining at the door to tell you when he needs to go out. Roo has a water obsession – whether it's trying to hop in the shower or getting his paws wet on walks! His thick, soft coat doesn't tangle and hasn't shed much, despite his fluffiness. Roo's ideal match is an active person or family who loves the outdoors – hiking, gardening, splashing in water, or just playing fetch. He would love to be your BFF and adventure buddy! Roo is medically up to date and housebroken. He is crate trained, but would prefer not to be in a crate. If you're looking for a loyal companion to share in your adventures and daily life, Roo might be the perfect fit. He's ready to bring joy, energy, and playfulness to his forever home! Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. Lucy is a beautiful female Beagle mix, who was sadly found dumped outside in east TN with her 4 newborn puppies (the Peanuts litter). Lucy and her pups were rescued and placed in a loving foster home. She has now finished nursing and is being fostered in CT while she awaits her forever home! Lucy is estimated to be about 5 years old. She looks bigger in her photos than she really is - she's only about 18-20 lbs so she's a pretty petite girl!  Lucy is a very sweet, good natured girl and she has been an excellent mama! She is good with other dogs, people, and kids. She has also done well with the dog savvy cats she has met - was unsure of them at first but warmed up quickly & ignored them. Even though she looks sad in her pictures, Lucy is a very happy girl full of love and tail wags! She enjoys being with her person, and she did excellent getting her nails trimmed (pics in profile were pre-nail trim). She is mellow most of the time, but she does like to play and she gets the occasional zoomie! Her favorite place to be is by your side or in your lap. She's a real gem!  Lucy is medically up to date (will be spayed in CT soon, waiting for her milk to dry up), housebroken, and crate trained. Meet Maam, the sweetest, spunkiest girl you'll ever meet! This stunning 1-1.5 year old spayed female border collie mix weighs around 45 pounds and is bursting with love and energy. Despite being surrendered by her family due to circumstances beyond their control, Maam's heart remains full of love and loyalty. From Maams CT foster: "Maam is such the goodest girl!! So mellow and loves to play!! Walks great on a leash! She cries for a few minutes when you leave, but settles down quickly. Has not chewed anything! Uses pee pads when she has to go potty inside. Definitely needs a yard to run!!! She doesn’t care to have anyone watch her go potty, so definitely needs that yard! Absolutely loves car rides!!! Highly recommend she is not the only pup. She would do best with at least 1 playmate." Maam is a gem - friendly, gentle, and playful, thriving on interaction and activity. She's great with dogs, people, and dog-savvy kids, and her working breed spirit shines through in her love for play and exercise. While her compatibility with cats is unknown (no cat testing, although we think she may try to herd them), Maam's loving nature and spunky personality make her a perfect fit for an active family or individual. With her loving nature and spunky personality, Maam will capture your heart and become your loyal companion. Medically up to date, housebroken, will use pee pads when needed, and is crate trained (though she prefers freedom over crate time). Maam is ready to find her forever family and shower them with love and affection. She's learning to navigate stairs and is making progress with her little puppy legs. Her CT foster raves about her, saying "Rita is the life of the party. She loves playing with her five foster siblings, exploring outdoors, and doing adorable 'sploots.' She's spunky, dances for attention, and spins when she's tired instead of getting up to move - it's the cutest thing! Rita is silly, loving, and deserves the absolute world, won't settle for anything less." Rita is medically up to date, crate trained, and working on housebreaking. With her loving nature, playful spirit, and adaptable personality, she's sure to bring joy to her forever family. Currently in a CT foster home, she's waiting for you to apply and give her the love, snuggles, and forever home she deserves. Meet Pinky, a ~2year old spayed female lab mix weighing approx 45 lbs! She entered our rescue having already been spray painted pink, so we do not have a history as to why she's pink. Over time, it should fade/shed out but we've not been able to wash it out of her :( This beautiful fluffy girl is good with other dogs, people, and kids. She has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how she would do with cats. She is a very docile girl who seems to get along with everyone she meets. She has a very calming presence. She is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. Meet Bre (aka Tillly), a super sweet 1.5 year old spayed female husky/terrier/lab mix, weighing 38 lbs! She is an active girl who would make an excellent hiking and/or running buddy, and would love a fenced in yard of her own to get out all of her zoomies! Sadly, Bre was adopted as a puppy and returned to PRL twice due to her separation anxiety - it was not her fault, it just was not the right fit with either family (although they loved her). We have promised this special girl that we will find the right home for her, and the third time will be the charm!  Bre is an absolute sweetheart who loves her people! She wants to be BFFs with everyone she meets, and she will happily go to people for kisses, cuddles, and belly rubs! She loves kids, but due to her size and excitability, we recommend older kids 8+ (as she may unintentionally knock over a small child). Bre thrives in the company of other four-legged friends and would do best in an active home with a doggo sibling(s) to keep her company. She does have some separation anxiety, which seems to be MUCH better when she is with other dogs vs alone. She would be a great choice for someone who works from home or is able to take their dog to work with them. From Bre's current foster:  "Silly Tilly (formerly known as Bre). She is very pleasant, loving and intelligent. We really lucked out getting another great cuddler! She gets along with everyone very well, loves playing with the pack and is very active. She tells us when she has to go potty and hasn't had any accidents yet. She is the whole package and a must-meet!" Some ABC's of why you should apply for this perfect girl: Adaptable, she fits right in wherever she goes! Beautiful heterochromatic eyes. Cuddle buddy. Dedicated to having a good time. Energizer bunny zoomies. Fast learner. Gentle treat-taker. Happy-go-lucky. Iinspirational (orphaned & returned twice yet still keeping it positive). Just doesn't want to be alone. Knows basic commands. Loves simply being acknowledged. Magnificent mutt: Pit, Husky, Boxer, Sheltie, German Shepherd, Aussie & American English Coonhound. Non-confrontational attitude. Ok with kids (not cat tested but we think she would try to play with one). Playful with EVERY dog she meets. Quiet (hardly ever makes a peep). Resting B**** Face and silly goose are her default facial expressions. Sweetest soft little kisses. Tolerant of different dog personality types. Undercover ginger (her black fur is red in the sun!). Velvety soft ears. Well behaved. eXtroverted towards dogs. Yearns to be outdoors. Zero aggression.  Bre is medically up to date and housebroken. Meet Fritz, a very handsome 1-2 year old neutered male wire terrier mix, weighing about 25-30 lbs! Fritz is a little shy at first, but he warms up quickly and is a very sweet boy. He is good with other dogs, cats, people, and kids. What more can you ask for?!  From Fritz's TN foster:  "Fritz is phenomenal, he is a lot of fun and he is slowly learning to be a dog and playing with toys! He does the submissive pose for most dogs. Totally crate trained and housebroken. He is wonderful, I mean absolutely wonderful with children and cats! So far he is perfect on a leash.  He's got a few things that he is afraid of that I have been working on. At first he comes off a little frightened of people, but he comes around quicker than any dog I've ever met. He just wants that one perfect family for him!" Meet Emma, an adorable 5-month-old female mixed breed puppy with a heart full of love! Her unique mix is thought to be border collie, lab, and possibly Great Pyrenees, evident from her distinctive back dew claws. Currently weighing around 30-35 pounds, Emma is expected to grow into a stunning medium to large-sized dog.  As a young pup, she's a happy and friendly bundle of energy who loves everyone she meets, and with proper training, exercise, and socialization, she'll grow into a wonderful companion. From Emma's current foster:  "Emma girl is doing wonderfully! She has been blossoming in her foster home with our lab and 1.5 yr old boy. She has been exposed and no problems with loud sounds like vacuum, hair dryer, coffee maker, or lawn mower. Did well with the bath tub too. Emma is a sweet angel who curls up right next to me while I work. She will play independently with some toys and then take a snooze til we take a break. She clearly wants to learn and will work for treats as we’re doing basic training. Continuing to encourage comfort on leash. She is doing well crate training." She is medically up to date (age appropriate), and working on crate training and housebreaking.
