Pumpkin came to PRL as an owner surrender, along with 2 other puppies (Willow, and Pecan) who are not related. Pumkin is an 8/9 month old boston terrier/terrier mix, she currently weighs about 20lbs, and will not get much larger. The max she will grow to is about 25lbs, ( unless she becomes overweight). Pumkin is a sweet, sensitive little girl. She was sad and scared when she was placed into foster care, but her owners had too much going on, they had an accidental litter (willow and pecan), and too many dogs to care for. We agreed to help by taking Pumpkin, Pecan and Willow in to rescue. Pumkin came from a home with small kids, and does well with them, but during the first week or so in a new place, she is quite timid, unsure and nervous, becasue of this we suggest older children 10 years and up, or no children. Pumkin is great with other dogs, and loves her people once she realizes you will be good to her (and give her some yumy treats) Pumkin is such a sweet, dainty little gal, who would love an owner who is confident, and who will be patient with her during the first few weeks. She would love a family will keep socializing her with other dogs, and people, since she lacks confidnece, the more people and dogs, and exposure to differnt environments, will help build up her confidence, show less

Boomer was an unwanted puppy who was being given away at the age of 6 weeks, one of our foster volunteers offered to take him in and foster him until he was ready to find his FURever home! Boomer is a typical puppy, who is practicing his potty training, and crate training. He has learned sit, and is eager to learn more! Boomer is good with everyone, kids, dogs, cats! Fran and her sisters and brothers, were saved from a neglectful situtation, at only 8 weeks old all 6 puppies had skin dertmitius. They are all doing much better now, after steroids, and antibiotics, and medicated baths. Fran and siblings are schnauzer mixes, we believe they will grow to about medium size. Fran is a typical playful, curious puppy, she is currently about 9/10 weeks old. She is practicing potty training and crate training in her foster home show less

Pippy and her sisters and brothers, were saved from a neglectful situtation, at only 8 weeks old all 6 puppies had skin dertmitius. Gunther, Tucker, and Walter are 3 month old male Great Dane/Lab mixes. We were alerted to a group of 4 black puppies roaming the roads in TN. We had been asked to help and take them in, we began our search for them. Every time we got a call about their location, our volunteers would arrive and there would be no signs of the puppies. Volunteers left names and numbers with constuction workers, police officers and anyone in the area, for them to contact us if they spotted the puppies. We located the original owner of the puppies, who said she rehomed them, and the new family must have dumped them.She asked if we could take them into rescue, which we agreed we would if we could locate them. The puppies were starving, the first report they were on a farm eating the cow feed. Highway patrol told us the puppies had been running near the highway and had almost got hit numerous times. Finally we got a tip after 4 days of searching that a lady had pulled over and put all 4 puppies in her car. We couldnt locate this woman, so we put out a plea on social media. We got a message the next day that 3 of the 4 puppies were in a yard. We had volunteers rush to get the puppies. We immediately took them to the vet for testing, and medication, Gunther and his siblings are typical puppies, they are learning about the world, practicing potty training, crate training, and how to be the best dog they can be. Gunther was the puppy who was the most nervous when we saved them. All 3 puppies are now healthy, happy and ready for FURever homes! These pups are gorgeous, and will be large dogs, due to their start in life, we would suggest a fenced in yard, and large breed experience show less

June, along with Gertrude, and Olivia were saved from a hoarding situation. Animal control had been called, and they took all 18 dogs our of the home. The local Humane Societ, Paws Rescue League and a few other rescues all helped by taking in a few dogs. June is a 3 year old, pug/chi mix she is a sweet girl, who would love a warm lap, and a friendly face to see everyday. She is good with other dogs, and good with people. She does good with kids, but due to her background we would suggest children 10 years and older who know how to respect a dogs space. June is housebroken (with a doggy door), and crate trained, and walks okay on leash, but still needs more practice.. She will continue to practice while in her foster home, awating her furever home. June weighs abour 16lbs, and she is 3 years old. She will not get any bigger than she is now. show less

She is pee pad and littter box trained (she was fostered in a home with 4 cats) she learns quickly. She will be 10lbs or under full grown. Pecan is a 3 month old male Corgi mix. He came to us with his sister Willow and another dog ( not related) named Pumpkin. Willow, Pecan and Pumpkin were owner surrenders, their family had unexpected puppies and were not able to keep them any longer. We took them into rescue to find them forever homes! Pecan is a typical litte puppy, he needs a family with puppy expereince, and understands puppy behaviors . A family who can continue his training, and socializing. He is working on potty training, and walks ok on leash. Pecan is crate trained. He is a sweet adorable cutie! he iis hoping to find his new family soon! show less

Rouge is a 2 month old male full bred Airdale terrier, we saved her and 3 of her siblings from a breeder who was selling them. We wanted to ensure they would find loving, caring furever homes where they would be taken care of and not chained up outside, or dumped later on. Which has been the trend in the south for some time. Rouge came from a litter of 12 puppies, another rescue took a few of the puppies in to their rescue, and some people bought puppies before we got there to save them. Rouge is a typical fun loving curious playful little girl, who loves everyone! We named her Rouge, from X-Men, her brother and sisters that we saved are Logan, Storm, and Jubliee Airdale terriers are large breed dogs. They grow to be between 40-70lbs. They have hair not fur, and are a large breed hypoallergenic dog, like a standard poodle. Their coloring is brown and tan, and all 4 siblings are nearly identical. They are good breed dogs, smart, average energy level, and good with people. Rouge and her siblings are only 2 months old, they are good with everyone and they will adjust well in almost any home they go to.Good with dogs, cats and children. These 4 pups will need to go to families who have fenced in yards. Rouge is currently working on potty training and crate training. show less

Spice is a 4 month old female black chi mix, she was an owner surrender. Her owner no longer wanted her, she had only just got Spice less than a month before, and rehomed her a meer 4 weeks later. Since being in her foster home, Spice has been having a blast playing with her foster siblings (who are also chi mixes). Her foster family adore her, they say she is very sweet pup no accidents in the home, and all around great dog. Spice is crate trained, housebroken, and good with dogs, cats and kids. Keta is a 2 year old female Cairn terrier mix. She was originally picked up as a stray at a local animal control in east TN. Keta was taken in by the humane society. The humane society was over capacity.. We reached out to the humane society and agreed to take in Keta, and Angel. Keta is a sweet girl, she likes her people and is affectionate. She can by shy at first meeting, and can have small dog syndrome (where a small dog thinks theyre the size of a great dane!) At the humane society she became friends with one dog, and one cat, but was very selective with other dogs/animals. Keta arrives in New England on 10/08/2022, and will need a foster home or adoptive home. Keta needs a home where she can be the only dog, OR a family who has rescue experience, and experience with shy, nervous small dogs. Keta adores her people, and would love to have a warm lap to nap in and call her own. Keta is good with people, but we suggest older kids, who can respect a dogs space. Keta is spayed., UTD medically, and is housbroken, and crate trained. She walks well on leash and does goo in the car. show less

We saved Angel when humane society was over capacity and we helped by intaking a few of their dogs. We were told they had adopted Angel to a family when she was 6 monthd old. They had learned 4 months later that the family was trying to sell her online. The humane society took this sweet girl back, and that is how she came into our care, Her foster parent says she is wonderful, good with kids, dogs, and is housbroken, crate trained and an over all great doggo! They said she is a 10 on a scale on 1-10! Angel is a 10 month old border collie mix, who deserves a family of her own, who wont try to sell her. She will arrive in New England on 10/08 and is hoping to find a furever home! show less

Sally is a 10 week old lab/shepard mix, whos is absolutely adorable! She came to Paws Rescue League Inc. as an owner surrender, when her family had an unwanted litter of puppies, due to not fixing mom dog. There were two puppies out of 8 who needed homes, the rest were given away. We were asked to help take 2 of the puppies in. By the time we got there to get them, one of the puppies was given to a family member. We ended up with little ole Sally! Who has adjusted perfectly with her temporary foster family. She has 2 fur foster siblings, a 60lb dog, and a 30lb dog and she keeps up with them! She sleeps well in her crate, with no accidents, she is working on potty training, and learning her basic commanfs. She is learning to live in a home, and be a big girl! Sally also has some other experiences she is getting used to thanks to her amazing foster family! She is being exposed to her person being in a wheelchair! This is great experience for Sally, it will help her when shes on walks in public places to not be scared by a chair, and possibly other mobile devices, like scooters, strollers, and bikes, it is especially helpful if she is adopted by a family who has a family memeber in a wheel chair. Exposing young puppies to all sorts of things in life prepares them to be the best they can be! Sally is good with other dogs, and all people, she is a snuggle bug and loves to nap with the other dogs, or with her people, on thier lap. She has not been cat tested yet, but she is young enough that adjusting to a home with a cat would be easy for her. Sally loves to play outdors, with other dogs, her favorite toys is a frisbee! Which is the size of her! Sally will grow to be a large dog, we assume between 40-70lbs. Sally needs a family who will continue with her training. show less

Sweet guy, he’s easy going, but loves to play with other dogs and people and toys. If you play with him he thinks it’s the best thing in the world and lights up. Fully crate trained, had 1 accident at his fosters home on the 2nd day. (We expect him to have atleast one accident transitioning to a new home), not cat tested. Walks ok on leash, good in the car. Val was found as a stray in TN, most likely she was dumped by her owners for not being a good hunting dog. Sadly, it is a common theme for "working type" dogs to be dumped or shot when they are of no use to the owners. Val was fortunated to not be killed, and was picked up by animal control, and placed on a stray hold. We work with local humane society to save dogs from kill shelters. We placed Val in a foster home, where she immediately flourished and showed all of us her fun, sweet loving personality, and her very contagious smile! She is truly a happy dog, who just wants to be loved, and to have a family to love. Val is good with all people, good with all size/breed/gendrs of dogs, she has not been cat tested yet so we are unsure how she would do. She is good with kids, but we do suggest kids 8 and up as she is a bigger dog, and can knock a child over. Val is crate trained, knows some of her basic commands, like sit and down, and no. She is fully housebroken, and fully vetted. She would love an active family, as she is under 2 years old and is still a young dog with some puppy energy. She would love a family to take her hiking, or to the beach! We prefer adopters with GSP experience, or with working breed experience. show less
