Skip Bo, Yahtzee and Charades were surrendered to a TN animal control shelter, Paws Rescue League Inc, agreed to take them in, and we were informed that Charade had someone who was interested in adopting him. So we ended up only taking in only Skip Bo, and Yahtzee the 2 sisters. Skip Bo is a 15 week old female lab mix, with a tan coat and beautifiul eyes, and a personality to match! Her foster family has nothing but wondeful things to say about how sweet and cuddly she is, and how smart she is. Skip Bo is good with kids, dogs, and cats. She is still young at only about 4 months old, and is learning new things everyday! She is not yet fully trained, but she is working on mastering housebreaking. She is great in the crate, and a sweet pup over all. Skip Bo will grow to be a medium - large dog when full grown. She would love friends, dogs and/or children to play with. A yard to run and play in and a family who loves her! show less

Baron is about a two-year old male Treeing Walker Coonhound mix. He is a very sweet boy, with a great temperament. He is great with kids, dogs of all sizes, and even cats! (He was tested with cats, and he didn't pay much attention to them). He is playful, smart and silly. He has come a long way from being a dog that no one cared about, or put any time into. Now he is a happy go lucky, dog, who has learned a great deal while in his foster's home. Baron is dog door trained, and crate trained, and leash trained. Baron would do best with a family who can continue helping him be the best dog he can be! He would love a doggo sibling, and maybe human siblings. He would also love a back yard to run around and play in! Breed experience is a plus! Barons Story: Baron was found as a stray, picked up by Animal Control where he was given three days for an owner to claim him, or a new adopter, or a rescue to save him, before being euthanized (put to sleep),for space. His owners were located and they had let him "loose" because they no longer wanted him, because he wasn't a hunting dog and that was his purpose when they got him. The family felt it was ok to just let the dog go, and not care about the his safety. Once it was discovered that a family wasn't coming for Baron, his only hope was an adopter or a rescue. On the last day of his stray hold, we picked him up before he was to be euthanized. Once in rescue , we got Baron fully vetted, and we learned he was Heartworm positive. We began treatment, and he has now been in his TN foster home for the last six months while he got healthy and kicked heartworms butt! Now Baron is in New England and is very excited to find and meet his FURever family! **Pupdate** Baron found a family in New England, but unfortunately it was not a good fit. Baron needs a home with structure and an experienced owner. Baron needs an active family. He has also been expressing some food posessiveness. We prefer an adopter who is willing to help him overcome this and provide him the training he needs. show less

Drizzle, Glacier, Freeze, Hilly, and Cyclone were dumped by their owners along with their momma Frankie. Paws Rescue League Inc was asked by the humane society if we could take them into rescue. Frankie and her 5 pups have been in TN foster while they were vetted, and cleared for transport and adoption. Drizzle is a 10 week old female German Shepard hound mix, she had a beautiful black and tan coat of a shepard. Drizzle currently weighs about 5lbs, and is expected to be between 40-60lbs full grown. She would love to have a family with shepard experience, and a fenced in yard to play. She would do well in a home with kids, other dogs and cats. She is very young still, and socialization and growing up with cats, dogs and kids will teach her to continue to do well with them. Drizzle is NOT housebroken, she is only 10 weeks old, and is busy practicing leash walking, and housebreaking, and crate training. She is a typical playful, curious pup, who is ready to meet her family so she can grow with them! She is currently in a CT foster home, and is waiting to find her FURever family! show less

Sweet Lagoon is a spayed female, 5 year old Boston Terrier mix, she was found as a stray with 2 other dogs who look very similar to her and are most likely littermates, or parents. (Doppler, and Monsoon) Lagoon is very very sweet girl, who always looks like she is worried. Lagoon is shy on initial meetings but warms up quickly. She is very dog friendly and loves to play with and be around other dogs, she is good with the 8 and 10 year old children in her foster home. We suggest children around that same age range and up. Lagoon likes to be close to her people and take naps on your lap, she also really enjoys spending time outside, she is getting used to a leash, Her previous owners probably never took her anywhere, and she was afraid of the leash at first. She is doing much better with leash walking and we know she will be a pro in no time! Lagoon is passed her puppy years, at 5 years young she's a sweet, full grown adult. She will not get any larger in size than her 18lbs. She will potty outside, she will have accidents when changing to a new routine, if you offer pads during that time she will try to use the pads. Lagoon is smart, and wants to make her people happy. She is shy, and timid at first but after a day she will be your new shadow, and enjoy all the love and attention you will give this sweet little lady! Lagoon is GREAT with cats. They have been in foster now for 3 weeks with a surrogate momma dog, so they can get the best love care and learn from their "Mom", until they were ready to leave the nest. Becasue of their begining, orphaned at 5 weeks old, and spent the rest of their time in a foster home, with a surrogate mom, and there were 7 girls ( which is how many girls were in the orphan group) we have decided to call them after the Little Orphan Annie group, as it was very fitting! Warbucks is 1 of 8 puppies, and he is the only boy in the litter. Warbucks is black and white, he is young puppy at 8 weeks old, he is medically up to date with age appropriate vaccines, and on monthly prevenetatives. He will be a small medium sized dog full grown, we believe they will all be under 40lbs ( our best guestimate), Warbucks is not potty trained, yet, he is still very young and is looking for a family who is ready for puppyhood! Zucko is a male hound mix, who is between 2-3 years old and weighs about 50lbs. Zucko is a very sweet, happy boy who enjoys playing with other doggos and being around people. He loves to learn new things, and loves treats! He is very food motivated, which makes training much easier. He has made friends with all of his foster siblings both the 2 legged and 4 legged kind! He enjoys head scratches, and some cuddle time with his people. Zucko came to us as a transfer from animal control. He was running out of time, and we knew we had to help save him and find him a loving home he deserves. This very good boy is crate trained, housebroken, has good indoor manners, is always happy, and is good with everyone he has met so far, including people and many different dogs, Zucko has not been cat tested yet so we are unsure how he would do with cats. He is a medium sized hound mix, at 50lbs. Zucko could fit into may homes, and he unlimately would like a family who will take him for walks, and a yard to play around in safely. Reggy, Archy and Jughead were picked up as strays, they were found starving, and in survival mode, at only 12 weeks old! Someone had dumped these 3 helpless babies. The animal control center they were picked up by is a kill shelter. TN state law, is a dog can be euthanized if no one claims the dog within 3 days,( an owner, new adopter or a rescue has to take them in) thankfully we were able rescue them from the kill shelter. With little foster homes open, we were not sure if we could save these 3 siblings, but thankfully a wonderful foster parent stepped up for them, so they could be saved. We believe these 3 brothers are belgian malinos/hound mix, they have very distictive black/grey faces and have some mal features. On top of that, all 3 are already very agile and smart. They are all food motivated, which makes training easier, than dogs who aren't food motivated. Reggy is tan, with a litte white on his chest, and grey/black on his face. Reggy is 3 months old, and is already neutered, medically up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and on monthly preventatives. He is a playful, silly, happy loving pup, who loves to be around other dogs, kids and people. ( They currently live on a farm, - and are NOT good with chickens). Reggy is working on leash training, crate training, and housebreaking, and is doing wonderfully! He arrives in New England on 04/15/23 and is looking for a FURever home or a Foster home who can love him until he finds his home! show less

Mom, Bebe and her 9 babies were found starving. Momma Bebe did her best to keep all 9 of her babies safe and healthy. Bebe was skin and bones when they were found, what an incredible mom! She is also stunningly pretty! With the face of a lab, and spots of an Australian Cattle dog! We arent sure what dad was, but we do know that some of the puppies are on the smaller side. He lights up when other dogs are around. He would do best in a home with another dog his size. His foster mom says he is just the sweetest, easiest boy to have around. He is ok on leash, crate trained, and good in the car. He is housebroken, and loves to bask in the warm sun. Austrailian shepards are known for being smart and easy to train. A family who is willing and able to put time and love into him is what he needs. Arley, which means bunny, was saved from a kill shelter one week before April 2023. TN law states stray dogs can be euthanized (put to sleep/killed), after 3 days, to make space for other strays. Owner surrenders can be euthanized immediately per TN law. Banner came to Paws Rescue League Inc, when we helped another local rescue, who took in over 35 Corgis from a Corgi breeder in TX, It was a LARGE effort to move 35 corgis, get them all into rescue and place them in loving foster homes, Paws Rescue League took in 4 Corgis, that we are currently working on finding them the best homes for each of them. Banner is a 3 year old neutered male Pembroke Welsh Corgi, he is about 25lns, and he has been enjoying life in his TN foster home, along side another one of the Corgis from this group, and 6 other dogs that are his foster moms Furbabies. Banner adjusted well to his routine at his foster home, and loves being around the other dogs, and he absolutely adores children and takes every chance he can to cuddle with them. Banner is housebroken, leash trained and crate trained. He has a wonderful sweet temperament. A happy guy who is excited to find his PAWfect family! Corgi experience, or wokring breed experience is a plus! Corgis shed quite a bit, and can have a good bit of energy, they require regular brushings, and grooming. Jasper is a 4 year old neutered male Chihuhaha mix, who weighs about 16lbs. He is a sweet little guy who is looking for a lap to call his own. Lillte Jasper was found as a stray, doing his best to survive on his own. He was smart enough to find some nice people who helped him get to the shelter, where a rescue could save him. We saved Jasper from the shelter. Sadly the shelter is overflowing with dogs. This particular shelter has done amazing, and hasnt had to euthanize a dog since 2019. But sadly the amount of dumped, abandoned and unwanted dogs is growning at an alarmingly fast rate, that shelter and rescues cant keep up. We are all working together to do our best to save these healthy, loving, loyal innocent FURbabies who deserve a chance at a loving home and family. Jasper is good with people, and kids 10 years and up, he is dog friendly, and crate trained, and housebroken. Jasper made his shelter break, and has his FREEDOM ride to New England this weekend 04/08/2023, where he will be available to meet with potential adopters! Lucy was found as a stray and found her self at a local Animal Control. This Animal Control is a kill shelter, they euthnize dogs ( does not matter age, breed, health or temperament). A STRAY dog has 3 days for their owner to find them, or a new family to adopt them, or a rescue to take them. If no one comes for the dog by 3 days they will euthanize. A dog who is brought to the shelter by their owner only has 24 hours to find a new adopter or rescue. Lucy was a stray. and we had our volunteer go and do a temperament test on her, which she passed with flying colors. Lucy is a young 3 year old small terrier mix, possibly rat terrier. Lucy currently weighs 25lbs, and the vet says she is at ideal weight. She was about 20lbs when we got her out of the shelter, she was very thin. Lucy is not expected to get any larger as she is full grown, and vet recommends she does not gain anymore wieght for her size. Lucys foster family has multiple dogs, ranging from 30-50lbs, and Lucy is wonderful with all of them. She adores her foster mom and dad, but she is so excited to find a family of her very own! Her foster mom is in a wheelchair, and Lucy is completely unphased by the chair, and is just a natural. At the vet, the vet commented how CALM, and unbothered Lucy was by the Vet office Cat, the other dogs in the waiting room, and their owners, as well as how calm and relaxed she was at the vet. The vet commented that she had never seen such a relaxed, calm dog with all the poking and proding from the vet. Lucy has a FANTASTIC temperament and she would make a wonderful addition to many families. Lucy is dog, cat and kid friendly, shes only been around 8 year old child, and did great. Shes never met a younger child, so we arent sure how she would do, but looking at how she is with ever person and animal she meets, we believe she would do well. Pepper is 1 of the 8 Little Orphan Annie puppies, these puppies were orphaned and given away from mom when they were only 5 weeks old. They have been in foster now for 3 weeks with a surrogate momma dog, so they can get the best love care and learn from their "Mom", until they were ready to leave the nest. Becasue of their begining, orphaned at 5 weeks old, and spent the rest of their time in a foster home, with a surrogate mom, and there were 7 girls ( which is how many girls were in the orphan group) we have decided to call them after the Little Orphan Annie group, as it was very fitting! Pepper is 1 of 7 girls, there is one boy in the litter. Pepper is black and white, she is young puppy at 8 weeks old, she is medically up to date with age appropriate vaccines, and on monthly prevenetatives. She will be a small medium sized dog full grown, we believe they will all be under 40lbs ( our best guestimate), Pepper is not potty trained, yet, she is still very young and is looking for a family who is ready for puppyhood! She is good with everyone, dogs, people, kids and cats! Pepper arrives in New England on 04-15-2023 and is looking for a FURever home or a foster home, while she awaits a FURever home! show less

Wishbone is a 3 year old male small terrier mixed dog ( hes either rat terrier, jack russell, parsons russell) of some sort. He is a cute petite sized boy at 18lbs. He is neutered, and medically up to date on all his annual vaccines, and is 4DX/HW negative, and is currenrly on monthly preventatives. He has been with a TN foster while he was vetted, and ready to make his way North. He is arriving in New England on 04/22/2023 and is soooo excited that he is closter to meeting his FURever people! Wishbones foster says he is just the sweetest gentleman there is! He is friendly and gentle with all the other dogs in the home, he is genlte with the child in the home as well. He is friendly, sweet and enjoys his peoples company, and going on walks, or really anything his people wants to do, hes more than happy to join! Wether it be walks, short hikes, playing in the yard, basking in the sun, or catching up on your favorite show.. Hes happy to be there with you! Wishbone was given up by his previous family to animal control, and were still scratching our heads,as to why. He is such a sweet boy, and its obvious he was loved before, and somoen had put time and care into him. Wishbone is ready to meet his new Family! show less
