Salem was found wandering the streets alone, at the bery young age of 8 weeks old. He was brought to animal control and placed on a "Stray Hold". This gives the dog 3 days for its owner to come forward and claim the dog, if an owner does not come forward, and a rescue or new adopter doesnt save the dog, the dog will be euthanized after 3 days. Paws Rescue League pulled this baby from the shelter, and at the end of the 3 day stray hold our foster volunteer picked him up and took him home. He was so happy to be near a person, he was obviously very lonely in the animal control kennel by himself. He immediately climbed on his foster moms lap and slept on her the whole ride. Salem is now on his way to New England to find his furever home! He is arounf 9/10 weeks old, we believe he is a patterdale terrier/lab mix. We guess he will grow to be around 40lbs full grown. Salem is good with other dogs, and with children and all people. He would do well in any home. He has typical puppy behaviors, and learning potty training and crate training. show less

Treat and her 2 siblings Trick, and Hazel were found as 8 week old puppies along side 5 more of their siblings. They were picked up by animal control and taken to their shelter. Over the course of 2 months, most of the 8 puppies had been adopted, or saved by rescues. 3 puppies remained. Animal control reached out to Paws Rescue League inc and asked us if we could take the 3 puppies, as they had no place for them in the shelter. We saved Trick and Treat and Hazel, got them cleaned up and in foster homes where they can feel safe and comfrotable. They are typical 4 month old puppies, with puppy behaviors. Trick, Treat and Hazel are going to be big dogs. They appear to be re half Anatolian Shepard, and half english setter. Both breeds are working type breeds, and will need families who can mentally stimulate them, as well as provide plety of physical activity. Stella is about a year and a half old Plott hound/Cur mix. She is a sweet girl, who can be shy at first. She is Spayed, and UTD on all her required vaccines, and monthly preventatives. She is around 55lbs (at her last appt), and considered a large sized dog. Stella loves her people and loves to be around them whenever she can. She would make an excellent hiking partner. Stella would do best in a home with an experienced adopter, and in a single pet household. She is good with people, and children over 10 years old. She can be nervous around younger children. Paws Rescue League first learned of Stella around March/April of 2021, her original owners had dumped her at the vet and never came back for her. The vet called Paws Rescue League, (she is the same vet we use for our rescue dogs.) and asked if we would take Stella, we made arrangemtns to take in the then 9 month old Stella. We were later notified that a client of the vet asked to adopt her. Stella was adopted to the client, and now about 7 months later she is being surrendered. We dont know much about her life between birth to 9 months old or why her family left her at the vet and never returned. She was described as a very sweet and loving pup by the vet. With her second owner, she was not getting adequate exercise, or mental stimulation, and also did not walk her on leash or crate train her, because of the lack of proper exercie she has become stressed in her home and the adopters have decided they arent able to take care of her properly. Stella is used to being given up on, we wont give up on her! She deserves to find a family who will love her and care for her, and provide daily exercise and continue with her training, show less

She is good with other dogs, she is crate trained and 100% house broken. She plays well with other dogs, she is submissive. She likes belly rubs and will roll over for a belly rub every time you walk by her. She knows most of her commands, including the word "NO". She would do well in almost any home. Knows how to use a doggy door and goes into her crate when you say “crate”/open the door/point at it. Only in a crate when we are away from the house, for her meals and when we clean the house. Gets vocal when she wants to come out of her crate. In process of pottytraining. Good with all farm and household animals. Knows to come when called or whistled at - knows her name. show less

Latte is a 1-2 year old female spitz/border collie mix, she was in a neglected state when animal control found her, her beautiful coat was matted, and she had fleas, and was underweight. After PRL rescued her, she went straight to the vet before going into foster home, to get a clean bill of health. We are still learning about Latte, and will update her bio once we have more information from the vet and Latte's foster. Latte was found with another dog, also a border collie mix, we are not sure if they are related, but its more likely than not. show less

Apollo is an 8 week old male Lab/shepard mix. He and his 4 siblings were dumoed on the side of someones property. The owner of the property took the puppies to Animal Control, and Paws Rescue League was able to save 3 out of the 4 puppies. We are unsure of what happened to the 4th puppy. Zues, and Hermes are all 3 male siblings, and have typical puppy behaviors. Will update as we learn more about each puppy. Will be fully vetted before arriving in New England show less

Chloe is a 10- 12 month old, female Husky/shepard mix. She was found at animal control and she was out of time, and next to be euthanzied when Paws Rescue League saved her, and another dog at the shelter. Chloe is a sweet heart! She is great with all other dogs, and loves to play and cuddle with them. Chloe is good with cats, both her previous foster homes have had cats. She doesnt show any aggression toward cats, but does sometimes try to initiate play (as she is a puppy still). She would do great in a home with dog savvy cats. She is great with kids, and loves spending time with them. She loves everyone she meets! Chloe is crate trained, house broken, knows her basic commands and the word no, she walks ok on leash. Bravet is a 1 and half year old, male English Setter/Great Pyr mix. He and his two sisters, Dot and Pepper were living together on a farm. Unfortunately the owner was no longer able to care for Braveand his siblings and reached out for help. Brave is a sweet boy who loves people, and other dogs. He is playful, and sits well for treats. Myla was foun on the side of the road, at the age of 9-10 weeks old. Eye witness reports say she was dumped from a car. Myla had hair missing from most of her tail and her hind legs, and needed vet attention. A good citizen took her in for the night and fed her and reached out for help. Paws Rescue League Inc took her in. Her new foster mom when to pick her up, we alerted animal control so we could post her as a lost dog to see if she belonged to anyone. No one came forward. Myla was brought to the vet with suspected Kennel cough, and the issue with her fur missing. She has been getting healthier ever day at her TN foster home, and seeing the vet to get her UTD on all her vaccines, and get ready to transport north so she can find her forever family. show less

Randy is a 5-6 month old male Plott hound/lab mix. Him and his brother Loki were found as strays, 3 weeks after Andy, Candy, Mandy and Sparky were found (In the same area, same age, look the same). When Paws Rescue League saw Randy and Loki enter the shelter, we knew immediately we had to save them as well! We are hopeful we have found all the siblings from Randy's litter. Randy is a gentle and sweet pup, who is laid back, very friendly. He can be shy when meeting new people. His brother Loki is the more adventerous type, while Randy is more the net flix and chill type! Randy loves to play with Loki, and is good with other dogs, he is good with people of all ages, kids and adults and cats. Randy is fixed and UTD on all age approproate vetting. He is currently being fostered in New England and is looking for his forever family! show less

Ellie is a 1.5 year old female, lab mix. She is super super sweet, and friendly, she can be shy at first but warms up quickly. She was pulled from an animal control shelter we normallly dont pull dogs from, as the dogs there arent at risk of euthanasia. We had the space to pull one more dog at the time, and she was in the shelter for over a month. When she got picked up from the shelter by her TN foster her tail did not stop wagging for 3 days straight! Even when she napped her tail kept waggin! She hasnt met a dog she doesnt like, she is great with people. good with kids. She has not been cat tested yet. show less

Roscoe is a male, 4 month old full bred Beagle. He was dumped at animal control by his owners. The humane society of TN called Paws Rescue League Inc and asked us if we would like to save a Beagle puppy. When asked why the owner had surrendered a baby, we were told the owner didnt have time for the puppy and he wants it to have a better life than he can provide. Roscoe is a little guy, and he wont grow to be very big. Being a beagle he will always be on the smaller side. But he has a big personality, and he loves to play with other dogs, and play with children and people. Rosoces favorite pass time is jumping from the top step (3 steps) of the deck at his foster home, onto the grass, or onto one of the bigger dogs.. Roscoe tries to fly! He is silly, and playful and sweet. He is practicing crate training and housebreaking. We would prefer Roscoe be adopted by someone with breed experience. show less

He actually has one blue eye and one half blue and half brown eye, which makes it look like he has googly eyes, but really he just has 2 really cool eyes!! He is a sweet heart, loves to play with people, and other dogs. He knows his basic commands and is very quick at picking new commands up! He is crate trained, and house broken, walks well on leash. Hes goos with other dogs, kids, men and strangers. He is currently in a home that has cats, and kittens. He leaves them alone. He is a working breed type dog, so experience with the breed is prefered. show less

Have you met a more handsome boy? We think NOT! Merit is the sweetest pup there ever was. He loves everyone and every animal he meets! Merit was found as a wounded stray by Animal Control. He was presumed to have been hit by a car, and had multiple wounds to his back end, tail, neck and shoulder area. Animal Control has no way to give vet attention to the dogs in their care, they are a shelter, a kill shelter. When a dog comes in a a stray it is placed on a "Stray hold" for 3 days, if an owner does not come forward in those 3 days, and a rescue, or new adopter does not put a hold on the dog, the dog will be euthanized after those 3 days. On the last day of Merits stray hold, we saw Merit in the Animal Control shelter, adn saw how much pain her was in, we had to get him out and get him immediate vet attention. Merit had x rays done, thankfuly no broken bones, no internal bleeding. His wounds were cleaned, dressed, and he was placed on antibiotics to clear the infection. He has healed up for about a month in his TN foster home, he is now well on his way to being back to his old self, and is now in New England and looking for his forever family. Merit is a sweet boy, who never met a person or a dog he didnt love. He has been in a foster home with cats, and he didnt bother them. We do think if there is a cat outside he may chase it, only because he wants to be friends! He is the definition of a love bug! He is an Australlian Shepard mix, we assume he may have some american staffy as well, one thing is for sure he is 100% handsome! He is smaller than he looks, hes on the small side of medium sized. Merit is still young, and in his adolecent years, he knows some of his basic commands, he is housebroken, crate trained, and fully vetted and UTD on his vaccines. This sweetest boy ever, he reallt is a special pupper, and anyone who meets him is guarenteed to have their heart stollen, by his joy of life, sweet disposition, he really desereves the best happy ever after! show less

Rosita is a female hound mix, estimated to be between 1-2 years old. She was found along side Cerveza. She is a sweet, shy girl who knows some of her basic commands. She likes other dogs, kids and people. When she was in Animal Control she was a bit scared but once she got to her foster home she was able to relax and show her true sweet self. Rosita is in her TN foster home currently, getting healthy enouhgh to travel to new england the first week of Septmeber. She would do good in most families/homes. Rosita is UTD on all her required vaccines, and monthly preventatives, she is HW-, ans spayed show less
