Roscoe is a male, 4 month old full bred Beagle. He was dumped at animal control by his owners. The humane society of TN called Paws Rescue League Inc and asked us if we would like to save a Beagle puppy. When asked why the owner had surrendered a baby, we were told the owner didnt have time for the puppy and he wants it to have a better life than he can provide. Roscoe is a little guy, and he wont grow to be very big. Being a beagle he will always be on the smaller side. But he has a big personality, and he loves to play with other dogs, and play with children and people. Rosoces favorite pass time is jumping from the top step (3 steps) of the deck at his foster home, onto the grass, or onto one of the bigger dogs.. Roscoe tries to fly! He is silly, and playful and sweet. He is practicing crate training and housebreaking. We would prefer Roscoe be adopted by someone with breed experience. show less

Ed is a 1 year old male Blue Heeler ( But really, we secretly think he is a Hyena! lol) He is s beautifuly, striking, handsome boy! He actually has one blue eye and one half blue and half brown eye, which makes it look like he has googly eyes, but really he just has 2 really cool eyes!! He is a sweet heart, loves to play with people, and other dogs. He knows his basic commands and is very quick at picking new commands up! He is crate trained, and house broken, walks well on leash. Hes goos with other dogs, kids, men and strangers. He is currently in a home that has cats, and kittens. He leaves them alone. He is a working breed type dog, so experience with the breed is prefered. show less

Have you met a more handsome boy? We think NOT! Merit is the sweetest pup there ever was. He loves everyone and every animal he meets! Merit was found as a wounded stray by Animal Control. He was presumed to have been hit by a car, and had multiple wounds to his back end, tail, neck and shoulder area. Animal Control has no way to give vet attention to the dogs in their care, they are a shelter, a kill shelter. When a dog comes in a a stray it is placed on a "Stray hold" for 3 days, if an owner does not come forward in those 3 days, and a rescue, or new adopter does not put a hold on the dog, the dog will be euthanized after those 3 days. On the last day of Merits stray hold, we saw Merit in the Animal Control shelter, adn saw how much pain her was in, we had to get him out and get him immediate vet attention. Merit had x rays done, thankfuly no broken bones, no internal bleeding. His wounds were cleaned, dressed, and he was placed on antibiotics to clear the infection. He has healed up for about a month in his TN foster home, he is now well on his way to being back to his old self, and is now in New England and looking for his forever family. Merit is a sweet boy, who never met a person or a dog he didnt love. He has been in a foster home with cats, and he didnt bother them. We do think if there is a cat outside he may chase it, only because he wants to be friends! He is the definition of a love bug! He is an Australlian Shepard mix, we assume he may have some american staffy as well, one thing is for sure he is 100% handsome! He is smaller than he looks, hes on the small side of medium sized. Merit is still young, and in his adolecent years, he knows some of his basic commands, he is housebroken, crate trained, and fully vetted and UTD on his vaccines. This sweetest boy ever, he reallt is a special pupper, and anyone who meets him is guarenteed to have their heart stollen, by his joy of life, sweet disposition, he really desereves the best happy ever after! show less

Rosita is a female hound mix, estimated to be between 1-2 years old. She was found along side Cerveza. She is a sweet, shy girl who knows some of her basic commands. She likes other dogs, kids and people. When she was in Animal Control she was a bit scared but once she got to her foster home she was able to relax and show her true sweet self. Rosita is in her TN foster home currently, getting healthy enouhgh to travel to new england the first week of Septmeber. She would do good in most families/homes. Rosita is UTD on all her required vaccines, and monthly preventatives, she is HW-, ans spayed show less

Loki is a 5-6 month old male Plott hound/lab mix. Him and his brother Randy were found as strays, 3 weeks after Andy, Candy, Mandy and Sparky were found (In the same area, same age, look the same). When Paws Rescue League saw Randy and Loki enter the shelter, we knew immediately we had to save them as well, since we had already saved their siblings. Maybe one day they can all have a family reunion! Loki is a sweet, out going, playful and very friendly guy who likes to play with Randy, and other doggos! Loki is good with other dogs, he is good with people of all ages, kids and adults. He has yet to be cat tested, but will be soon. Loki is fixed and UTD on all age approproate vetting. He is being fostered in New England and is looking for his forever family! show less

Nani is a one year old female Chihuahua/small terrier mix. Nani was found as a stray, along side who we assume to be her children, Stitch and Lilo. When they were found they were terrified and confused. We dont have much information on Nani and her familiys past, but we do know that they all have an amazing future ahead of them! Nani loves her foster mom and warmed up to her very quickly, and she likes to stay close to her and cuddle on her lap. Her foster mom said after one day Nani acted as if she was there her whole life. Nani is looking for her forever family, she is good with other dogs of all sizes, good with children, and good with cats. She would do well with a family who can be patient with her and give her time to come out of her shell, She is a sweet girl and will make a great companion, and addition to a family! Nani is the biggest sweetheart ever, she wants ALL the belly rubs, and everyone she meets is her best friend! Sweetest little thing ever! show less

Dot is a 1 and half year old, female, English Setter/Great Pyr mix. Her and her two siblings, Brave and Pepper were living together on a farm. Unfortunately the owner was no longer able to care for Dot and her siblings and reached out for help. Dot is a sweet girl who loves people. and other dogs. Did I mention she LOVES to SMILE! Hermes is an 8 week old male Lab/shepard mix. He and his 4 siblings were dumoed on the side of someones property. The owner of the property took the puppies to Animal Control, and Paws Rescue League was able to save 3 out of the 4 puppies. We are unsure of what happened to the 4th puppy. Zues, and Apollo are all 3 male siblings, and have typical puppy behaviors. Will update as we learn more about each puppy. Will be fully vetted before arriving in New England show less

Micaha is a male 13 week old terrier/aussie mix. He is one of 2 puppies who were found with a Stray mom. Mom is feral, meaning she has not been around humans much, and is only used to living outdoors on her own. Mom was caught, and then Micah and Mickeyl were caught. Mom was spayed and vetted. Micah and his brother Mickey are currently in a foster home in TN while they await their vet appointements and get fixed bedore heading to New England to find their forever homes. Micah is an average puppy who likes to play with toys, people and other dogs. He is good with all other dogs and good with children, he is young enough where he should be fine with cats. Both Micah and Mickey are fawn(red) and white colored. Working on crate training and housebreaking, show less

Harley is a male 13/14 week old Dutch Shepard mix. He was born with a stubbed tail. He came to Paws Rescue as stray. People had found them on the street, with some other dogs, and puppies. They took them in and called our sister resuce down in TN and asked if Paws Rescue League could pay for their vetting and transport them up North. Harley is a typical puppy, learning about the world, and is looking for his perfect people who can love and care for him. We believe he will be a medium to large dog, and on the more active side. An adopter with breed experience is prefered, and a fenced in yard is prefered. show less

Leif is a 20 week old Chinook/German Shepard mix. He and his 5 other siblings were found in a neighbors yard. Mom was a stray, and had the puppies on someones property. The owner of the property threatened to shoot the mom. When mom didnt come back for the puppies the good samaratin brought the dogs to our partner in TN. The Spring Litter has been in our rescue, and have been bottle fed since the age of 3 weeks old. Leif is playful, curious and friendly, he gets along with everyone, other dogs, kids and cats. Leif and his siblings are not housebroken and are not crate trained yet. Update: Leif has been with us since he was 3 weeks old, he arrived in New England at 9 weeks old. He has been in a foster home since 9 weeks old, he is now 20 weeks old. He has learned how to go to his crate for a treat, meal. He knows how to sit, and to shake, and he has almost mastered potty training! He will still need help when he is adopted, as his potty spot and routine will change, he will need guidence from his adopter to build on his success! show less

Nanook is a 6 month old puppy, dad is a Great Pryeness and mom is a husky/GSD mix. Nanook was found as a stray with his mom Shiloh, and 3 other siblings, Koda, Mika, and Luna. The mom was a pet at some point of her life, she knows her basic commands, sit, down etc. and is very sweet. The puppies were born outside as strays and were nervous aroung people. We have had them for about a month, and they have done well adjusting in their foster homes, and once they were vaccinated they started going to doggy day care to become more socialized with people and other dogs. Nanook and his siblings are all sweet, playful, and friendly puppies, they can be a bit shy at times. They are good with kids, cats and other dogs. Nanook was adopted on May 13th, at the age of 12 weeks old. The adopter had some issues trying to train Nanook, and he ultimately was returned back to us, for being too playful with their child. Nanook is a 6 month old puppy, and does need some guidence and direction with training. Prior breed experience is prefered.No children, or children older than 12, as he is playful and young and doesnt realize his size, and he loves playing with children, He would make a great hiking, or adventure partner. Nanook has impecable recall, once he gets to know you. And he does know his basic commands. show less

Cerveza is a male 1-2 year old Boxer/hound mix. He was found with a group of other dogs, who were in poor condition and taken. Cerveza sat at animal control to see if an owner would come forward, or anyone wanted to adopt him. No one came for him. Paws Rescue League Inc pulled him from the animal control shelter, and placed him in a loving foster home while he is vetted and gets ready to head to New England to find his furever after! We made a promise to him that he would find the bestest home! Cerveza does well with other dogs, he was good with the dogs he was picked up with and he does good with his new foster siblings. He likes kids, but he is very friendly and gets excited to say hello! So he should be adopted by someone with kids older than 12 or no kids. (He just likes them toooo much, and doesnt realize hes not a chihuahua!) He gets along with people, men and women, he tested fine with everyone he has met! He has not been cat tested as of yet. She was very frinedly with everyone at animal control, at the vet office and she immediately made friends with everyone in her TN foster home. She loves kids, and people, and other dogs. Jed is a 3- 4 year old Treeing walker Coonhound. Jed's prior owners got him to train him to be a hunting dog. When he didnt perform to their liking they dumped him. Jed due to no fault of his own wound up at animal control hoping someone would save him. No one came forward to adopt him, and no rescued saved him. He was at the shelter for over a month. Paws Rescue League and thier partner rescue Alpha Dog TN, pulled Jed from the shelter, got him fixed and vetted and ready to make his way to New England! Jed is now waiting to find his forever home, and a foster home when he arrives up North. Jed is house broken, crate trained, good with other dogs, and plays very well with them, and kids. No cats for this boy. He likes being around his people and walks ok on leash. He is a great boy, he knows most of his commands, and loves to lie around the house and spend time with his family! He loves meeting up with doggy friends and running around the yard or the park. He is a wonderful dog, and hes going to make his new family very happy. show less
