Oogie is one of 11 puppies born to Momma Sally. Sally was saved from the KILL SHELTER in the middle of October 2023. She was heavily pregnant about to burst. Sally gave birth to 11 healthy puppies the next day. Whom we named the Nightmare Before Christmas litter, as they arrived JUST before Halloween, and they would be ready for their FURever homes JUST before Christmas! Oogie is a sweet, playful, happy pup, she will turn 8 weeks old on 12/03/2023! She and her siblings are very young puppies, who have their whole lives ahead of them! They are looking for families to love them, and show them about the world. Oogie is not yet housebroken, but has been working on crate training, but she is still VERY young, and will need an adopter to train her. Oogie loves all people, dogs, cats, and kids! Her momma Sally is about 40lbs, we expect these pups to grow to be about that size as well, a medium size. If you're interested in one of these darling pups, please submit an application! Laverne, Esmeralda, Madallaine, and Nessie are 4-5 month old Pyrenees/Golden Retriever mix pups that were picked up as strays in TN and brought to animal control. PRL rescued these girls and brought them to New England to find their furever homes! Laverne currently weighs about 30 lbs and is expected to be a large dog. She is medically up to date, not yet spayed, housebroken, and crate trained. Good with other dogs, unsure about cats. Laverne is a shy girl who is lacking in confidence, and likely was not socialized as a young pup, so she is making up for lost time now. She takes a little time to warm up to new people and places, but is a sweet girl who is very loving and affectionate once she opens up! She has a fun personality and is curious and goofy, and she loves to be close to her people. Laverne does well with other dogs and would benefit greatly by having a confident, well adjusted doggo sibling to show her the ropes and help her learn how to be a dog! She loves to play but also loves to sleep, and she is quiet as a mouse in her crate. show less

Meet Minerva, a young 8 year old shepherd/hound mix! Minerva was picked up as a stray in TN and has been in the shelter for months with no interest. Sadly, older dogs (especially large ones) are often overlooked by adopters who have their hearts set on taking home a young, cute puppy. Unlike a young puppy, Minerva is already housebroken and crate trained and does not have annoying puppy habits! Shelter staff describe Minerva as "the sweetest dog" and she is a staff favorite. Minerva weighs about 60 lbs, is medically up to date and spayed. She is good with people and other dogs. She has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how she would do with cats. From Minerva's New England foster: "Minerva has settled in nicely. She’s really well behaved, playful (especially for an eight year old dog) but not hyper. She walks well on the leash, has been great with the dogs we encountered so far on walks, and goes in the crate with no problem (no whining, crying or barking). She’s going to make a great companion for some lucky adopter." show less

This pretty lady is Tabitha, a 2 year old spayed female shih tsu mix! She is medically up to date and is crate trained. Tabitha is not a fan of other dogs, she prefers to be the apple of your eye as a solo dog! She is good with people, kids and CATS!. She can tolerate dogs from afar, but prefers not to compete with another dog in the home Tabitha seems to have an old injury where she occasionally looks like she has a slight limp, we have done x rays, and exams and there are no broken bones, no swelling of tissue, no issues that can be seen. We give her glucosamine to help with her joints. Tabitha arrives in New England on 11/4 and is eagerly awaiting her furever family! show less

Mama Eden, a beautiful German Shepherd, was dumped at Animal Control along with her 9 babies 😭. Our team of volunteers banded together to make sure we got this family of 10 safe before their time was up! We are happy to report that all 10 are doing wonderfully, and 2 of the 9 pups have already been adopted! Meet the E litter pups: Everest, Everett, Everly, Emery, Etta, Effie, Eero, Elodie, and Esme. These sweet babies are 10-12 weeks old and are typical happy, playful pups who love everyone! They are crate trained and working on house breaking. The E litter pups would do well in most homes, and they cannot wait to meet their furever families! show less

Pax was an owner surrender. They had purchased Pax from a "Mini Aussiedoodle breeder" and were expecting Pax to stay under 20lbs. He is currently about 28lbs at 6.5 months old. Pax does have a little more growing to do, but not much. We estimate he will be 40lbs or under full grown. Pax did not have the best start, it was very clear when we took him in that he had not been groomed in a long time. He had skin irritation from where his hair was matted, he also had extremely long front and hind nails, which regular walks would have naturally filed them down some. Pax was clearly not socialized with new people, or other dogs. He was TERRIFIED meeting any new people, and very unsure around other dogs. (This is why it is so important to start socializing your dogs when they are young, so they are not so afraid of new people and dogs.) Pax has been working with his foster and trainer in TN, he is doing very well working on socializing with other dogs, and with people. He is building up his confidence daily, and learning how to walk on leash. He knows "Sit", "Down", "Shake", and "Stay". He is very treat motivated, which helps with training. Pax is a wonderfully sweet boy who loves to cuddle his people, and thinks he's a lap dog. He loves attention from his people, he just needs a little confidence boost and a routine, and continued socialization to help him be the doggo he can be! Pax would love a well adjusted dog sibling to help show him the ropes and how to be a dog. show less

Casper was born to momma Darla on 09/29/2023. Darla was found as a stray heavily pregnant, large efforts were made to locate her owners to no avail. A wonderful woman took Darla to the vet for scans, to find out how far along and how many babies she should expect her to deliver. Its safe to know the number of babies to make sure all are delivered safely, and none get stuck inside mom, which is deadly for the baby, and mom. Darla had her 11 darling babies 2 weeks after being picked up off the streets in NC. Sadly at only a few days old one of the babies passed away, and a few days after that, a second baby passed away. Darla has 9 surviving pups, who are all goregeous pooches and are ready for their FURever homes! They are young enough that they will adapt to any animals, and people in their homes. Like toddlers, 8 week old puppies will learn what you teach them! These pups have been fostered in a home with small children, dogs (small and large), and cats. We suspect that Casper and Cami are Pyrenees mixes (different dad than the other pups), due to their larger size, fluffier coat, and back dew claws. From Casper's New England foster: "Last but certainly not least, our fuzzy tank, Casper aka captain Caspian! The biggest and fuzziest of the C litter, he is the jock. The captain of all things sports…He is the most independent, yet the leader of this C pack. He will make the best companion to any one who will have him!" show less

Green Bean and Casserole are sweet 9 week old lab/collie mix pups! Casserole is a friendly, sweet girl who loves all people, kids, and other dogs. She is playful with cats. Casserole is crate trained and working on housebreaking, and good on leash. She is a happy puppy with a lot of love to give, who she would do well in most homes. From Casserole's New England foster: "Casserole (who we are now calling Cali for short) has been such a joy to have around, and it's been great watching her gain more confidence with each day. She has such a goofy and loving personality, and looks up to my boys for everything. She is still so independent, but has LOVED making friends around the neighborhood! She is incredibly smart and so eager to please...she is very treat motivated, but still not food possessive at all. She doesn't cry or jump for her food...she knows to sit and wait for it, but she gets so excited she tap dances across the kitchen floor. She is so curious, but in such a calm way, which is so surprising for her age! She's doing great with potty training and overall has just been amazing to have around." show less
