Blackjack and his ( who we assume to be sibligns) 5 siblings were dumped in a blue laundry basket at the front door of animal control, 5 minutes before they closed on Halloween night.  The local Animal Control was completly full, and would have to euthanize the puppies first, since they were dumped by their owner (owner surrenders are the first to be put to sleep). The local Humane Society called us and said "We have called numberous rescues, everyone is full, is there anyway you can help take in this family?"  - We were closed for intake at the time, due to the overwhelming amount of dogs we currently have in our care, and very few dogs getting adopted.  We couldnt turn them away, with no where to go, and possible euthanaisa.    Thankfully 3 foster families stepped up to take these sweethearts in, and gave them the gift of actually living their lives, But their rescue journey is not over until they are adopted by loving families.  Blackjack is around 3-4 months old, he is appears to be a beagle/hound mix adotable puppy! He ADORES children and other dogs he seems interested in the outdoor cats, but is gentle and just wants to play with them. He loves to play and explore! He has been practicing being a big boy and potting outside. Blackjack is medically up to date, and has passed his health exam and is ready for his FURever home.    He would love to find a family before the holidays, so he can bond and adjust to his new routine, and get his christmas wish of finding a family. He arrives in New England on 12/03/2022 and would love to have a family or foster family waiting to meet him! show less

Harley along with 8 other chihuahuas we saved, came from a hoarding situation. With the help of the local animal control, we saved 9 chihuahuas out of 15. The other 6 chihuahuas went to another rescue.  Harley is shy, and timid at first, when he and the others were found, they were living in terrible conditions. Harley, or any of the other chihuahuas knew what a toy was or how to play with one, our fosters have told us they sleep on the hard floor, and under tables. They probably never had the luxury of sleeping on a soft bed, and being cuddled on someones lap. These poor pups never got to be dogs. That all changed the moment they got their freedom ride and went to their TN foster homes. Harley was given time and patrients, and once he came arounf hes been nothing but spoiled, and loved. Harley has learned he likes to be on peoples laps, and to be around the nice people. He enjoys getting treats and love! Harley is pad trained, and trained to go outside, we ask all adopters to expect accidents the first few days while a dog adjusts to thier surroundings and new routines,Harley is doing well practicing leash walking. He is crate trained, good with other dogs, nervous around large dogs ( we do not think he or his siblings ever met dogs asided from the ones on the property they were saved from).Harley did ok when cat tested. We suggest kids 8 years and up who understand how to give a dog their space when needed. Harley is not fixed yet, due to no open surgery appointments in the south. We will work with fosters, or adopters to plan his neuter.  Harley arrives in New England on 12/3/2022 and is hoping to find his FURever home before Christmas!  show less

Basil is one of the male puppies, he is tri color, White, Brown and rust with eyes that will either stay blue or turn green. Being part australlian shepard, he will be on the higher energy side and need a family who can keep up with him and work on his training when he is old enough.  Sages puppies will be fully vaccinated by December 18th  2022, and will be ready to go to their new homes by December 21st 2022!   We are taking deposits on Sages litter puppies, to prevent adopters from wasting our volunteers time, and from no showing when its time to pick them up! Joy was dumped at an animal control facility that euthanizes ( puts dogs to sleep) when they are full..  Joys only family whom she lived with for 5-6 years, the only family she ever knew dumped her there 2 weeks before thanksgiving.. Not only that but she didnt have a name. This family who have had her for 5-6 years, never gave her a name of her own...  When a dog is brought into the facility by their owners, due to lack of space, they euthanize the dog after 24 HOURS.. Unless a rescue pulls her out of the shelter, or someone adopts her.   We pulled her out of the facility and decided to name her Joy. As this is the start of her new life, she will never have to have puppies again, and she will be loved not only by her foster families, and us at the rescue, but her very own REAL family will love her, and she will experience all the Joy life has to offer!  She had just had a litter of puppies, you could tell by her body,( she sitll had milk). The vet determined she was most likely used for breeding, and has had multiple litters in her life time.     Joy is now safely in her foster home. In her pictures below you can see her freedom ride and how grateful she was!  She has now been spayed and is medically up to date, and is ready to find that FURever family, who will treat her will kindness, love and compassion, and not just an object, or property, to throw out when shes of no use anymroe.  Joy is assumed to be a corgi/labrador mix, she weighs about 34lbs. She is full grown and wont get any larger. She is an older girl, who likes the simple things in life, napping on a couch, snoozing on a bed, running around the back yard, and going on walkies. Joy is potty trained, and crate trained, but much rather perfer sleeping on something soft ( and we think she deserves it). She is good with new people, she has not been cat tested, or tested with very young kids. She has been arounf olfer children 8 years and up and did wonderfully. Joy was tested with other dogs and has done well. One dog she met wasnt a fan of hers. So we would suggest being the only dog in the home, or older dogs who are more relaxed, mellow and submissive,   Joy arrives in New England on 12/3/2022, we are hoping to find her a FURever home to go straight into her new routine and family, and not having to be jumbled around to fosters.      show less
