Toby and Toto came to Paws Rescue League as strays. These two boys were abandoned, lost, or dumped, and they found help! They had entered a persons home through their dog door and let them know that they were in need of their help. The people had posted them on all local dog sites, and were only able to keep them for a few days. We were asked if we could help and take them in. They were found in an area that many people abandon unwanted dogs, puppies, and cats. They were placed on a stray hold, in an effort to find information if anyone had ever seen them or knew them. No one came forward for them. After about 27 days, animal control felt they were most likely dumped. Sadly, dogs are dumped daily in TN, and animal controls are overwhelmed with dogs who have been abandoned and dumped. Toby is a sweet 1 year old male who weighs ~15lbs, we believe he is a chihuahua/corgi mix. He has a beautiful long, fluffy tail with a cute little white stripe on it! Toby can be nervous at initial meetings, but he warms up quickly. He is great with other dogs and has been fostered with other small dogs, and one 60lb dog, as well as a senior dog. Toby has zero prey drive and ignores cats. We feel Toby would do best in a home with adults, or with older and/or gentle, dog savvy kids, as loud noises and fast movements can make him nervous. He doesn't get irrirated or nippy like some toy breeds do, but he is lacking confidence and needs some time to trust and feel comfortable. Once he feels comortable, Toby is a very affectionate boy! Toby is neutered and completely up to date with all his vetting. He is crate trained, but can be nervous in a new place, but after a few days adjusts well. Toby is housebroken, and knows how to use a doggy door. He is ok on leash. Toby and Toto arrive in New England on 05/06/2023 and are in need of a FURever home! show less

However, we are determined to break the cycle of unwanted litters and ensure these puppies receive the love and care they deserve. We took the responsible step of neutering their male dog, even though the family was reluctant to part with their female Chihuahua mixes, female beagle mix, and female Aussie mix. At 10 weeks old, Aster is currently in the process of learning house training and making great progress under our patient guidance. He is also familiar with crate training and finds comfort in having a secure space to call his own. Aster's most endearing quality is his friendly nature. Freeze, Drizzle, Glacier, Hilly, and Cyclone were dumped by their owners along with their momma Frankie. Paws Rescue League Inc was asked by the humane society if we could take them into rescue. Frankie and her 5 pups have been in TN foster while they were vetted, and cleared for transport and adoption. Freeze is a 10 week old female German Shepard hound mix, she had a beautiful black and tan coat of a shepard. Freeze currently weighs about 5lbs, and is expected to be between 40-60lbs full grown. She would love to have a family with shepard experience, and a fenced in yard to play. She would do well in a home with kids, other dogs and cats. She is very young still, and socialization and growing up with cats, dogs and kids will teach her to continue to do well with them. Glacier, Cyclone, Drizzle, Freeze, and Hilly, were dumped by their owners along with their momma Frankie. Paws Rescue League Inc was asked by the humane society if we could take them into rescue. Frankie and her 5 pups have been in TN foster while they were vetted, and cleared for transport and adoption. Glacier is a 10 week old male German Shepard hound mix, he had a beautiful tan coat. Glacier currently weighs about 5lbs, and is expected to be between 40-60lbs full grown. He would love to have a family with shepard experience, and a fenced in yard to play. He would do well in a home with kids, other dogs and cats. Glacier is very young still, and socialization and growing up with cats, dogs and kids will teach him to continue to do well with them. Meet Primrose, a charming 10-week-old female beagle/Chihuahua mix who is eagerly seeking a loving forever family. Primrose and her siblings came to us from a family who also trusted us with the care of Olive and her five siblings. Since we didn't have enough space for all the puppies, we reached out to another rescue organization, which kindly agreed to help and took in the remaining five pups. It's disheartening to learn that this family has had six litters within just the past 10 months. Primrose's story reminds us of the challenges faced by innocent pups born into difficult situations. Despite the obstacles, we are committed to breaking the cycle of unwanted litters and providing these puppies with the care and love they deserve. We took the necessary steps to ensure that their male dog won't father any more puppies, even though the family was reluctant to part with their female Chihuahua mixes, female beagle mix, and female Aussie mix. At 10 weeks old, Primrose is currently learning about house training, and she's making great progress with our patient guidance. She's also learning to feel safe and secure in her crate, a cozy space that she can call her own. Primrose's most endearing quality is her affectionate nature. She adores being around people of all ages, and her gentle and playful spirit is a joy to be around. She's the perfect companion for any loving family. Shortcake is a little cutie, she is belived to be a chihuahua and boston terrier mix, she weighs about 11lbs, and is 6 years young. She was found as a terrified stray, and brought to animal control and put on a stray hold, Paws Rescue League Inc, pulled her from the shelter once her hold was up, so we could find her a loving family/home who will love and care for her and give this darling little girl all the time she needs. She has been through a lot, being on the streets, scared and alone, and in a noisy frightening shelter. She is in her adult years, and all she wants is a person or family she can love, and who will love her back. Shortcake is good with people, and with other dogs, we are unsure how she would be with cats, and small children. Shortcake is housebroken, and crate trained, but prefers to be near her people. She is ok on leash, but is still adjusting to the big change, coming from rural TN to busy suburbs of a city in CT. She is a very affectionate little love, and her foster mom only has wonderful things to say about her. One look at her and you can see how everyone who meets her falls in love immediately!
