Meet Bambi, the SUPER sweet mama of the Bambi litter pups (Faline, Owl, Thumper, Mr. Mole, Flower, Aunt Ena, and Mrs. Possum)! Bambi and her newborn pups were found in a field in east TN while farmers were mowing. This little family was taken into rescue and placed in a loving foster home. They are now in CT and puppies are ready to start going to their furever homes. Bambi is ready to retire from her mama duties and find a furever home of her own as well! Bambi is a young mama, approximately 1-2 years old. She weighs about 40 lbs, we think she is an Australian Cattle Dog/shepherd mix. She is extremely sweet and loving and has been an amazing and attentive mom! She is a friendly, easy going girl who gets along well with other dogs, people, and kids (not cat tested). She is medically up to date (awaiting her spay appointment now that her milk is mostly dried up), housebroken, and crate trained. Apply to meet this special girl today!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! show less

Meet Pugsley, a ~3 month old male lab/terrier mix puppy! We expect him to grow to a medium/large dog.  Pugsley, his sister Wednesday, and mama Morticia were picked up as strays by animal control in east TN (there was also a third puppy, who was adopted from animal control). This little family spent several days at an overcrowded kill shelter and their stray hold was up, which meant they were at risk of euthanasia 😢 Fortunately, we were able to find a foster to take them in, and they were pulled from the shelter in the nick of time.  These cuties will be arriving in CT on 12/13, and we are accepting applications on them now!  Pugsley is a typical happy, playful puppy who loves everyone! Good with dogs, cats, people, and kids. Young puppies are like blank slates who, with proper training and socialization, will grow into wonderful dogs. He is medically up to date (age appropriate) and working on housebreaking/crate training. Meet Rocky, a super cute 3-4 year old neutered male dachshund mix! This little guy weighs about 14 lbs, but he packs a lot of personality into his small size! Rocky is a happy, friendly boy who gets along well with other dogs, cats, people, and kids (older kids 8+ recommended, as he is an energetic little guy and may unintentionally knock over a small child).  From Rocky's current foster:  "Rocky is a happy, wiggly snugglebug who loves everyone he meets. He is fully potty trained and crate trained, and he settles nicely once he has had a little playtime. Rocky enjoys toys and playing with other dogs, and he has been respectful of cats in the home. Because he is such a playful guy, he would likely do best with older kids who can match his energy. If you are looking for a fun buddy who doubles as a couch cuddler, Rocky is your guy!" Apply to meet this good boy today!  **Rocky will not be available until our 12/14/25 adoption event at Petco in Dayville, CT. We are accepting applications on him now! We will prioritize applicants who are able to attend the 12/14 event. If Rocky is not adopted at the event, we will move on to other applicants.** Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. Meet Zero, a super cute 3 month old male mixed breed puppy! Our best guess is lab/terrier mix, and we expect him to grow to a medium sized dog. The Halloween litter sadly had a rough start, as their mom was shot and killed for going after the neighbor's chickens when her pups were just 1 week old. 😔 The orphaned litter of 7 puppies was taken into rescue and placed with our amazing TN neonatal foster mama, who did everything she could to give them a fighting chance. Sadly, 4 of the 7 babies did not make it, however the remaining 3 boys (Salem, Jack (O'Lantern), and Zero) have absolutely thrived! They have arrived in New England and are now ready to put their tragic pasts behind them and find furever homes of their own! 💗  Zero is a typical happy, playful puppy who loves everyone! Good with dogs, cats, people, and kids. Young puppies are like blank slates who, with proper training and socialization, will grow into wonderful dogs. Zero is the most confident pup in the litter! Of the remaining 7, 4 of them did not make it 😢 The three surviving pups (Zipper, Ruffles, and Ribbon) have thrived and turned into happy, healthy, chubby puppies!  They are now ready to find their furever homes! Unlike his siblings, Zipper has longer hair and short, stubby little legs! 😍 We believe he has some corgi in him. We expect them to grow into small/medium sized dogs. Zipper is a typical happy, playful puppy who loves everyone! Good with dogs, cats, people, and kids. Meet Champ, a ~1 year old neutered male Australian Shepherd/Collie mix, weighing about 45 lbs! This handsome boy is very sweet but timid. He has been working on building his confidence in his foster home. He was definitely undersocialized as a young pup, and as a result, he is unsure of new people/places/things at first. He needs a little time and patience to warm up, but he is SO worth the wait! He is good with other dogs, people, and older kids 8+ who know to respect a dog's space (due to his nervous/timid nature, also as a young herding breed, he may try to herd small children). He has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how he would do with cats.  Champ is very smart and a quick learner, which is definitely the Aussie in him! He is an energetic boy who would love a fenced in yard of his own to get out his zoomies and play some fetch! He would also be thrilled to have a confident doggo sibling to help show him the ropes.  He is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. Apply to meet this special boy today!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. Meet Oats, a SUPER sweet ~6 year old spayed female poodle/doodle mix, weighing about 42 lbs! She was picked up as a stray by animal control in east TN and has been transported to New England to find her furever home! She is currently being fostered in southern NH. Oats's coat was quite matted and unkempt when she came to us, so she has been shaved. We can't wait to see her transformation once her hair starts growing back in and her coat is properly cared for!  Despite a neglectful past, Oats is a very happy and friendly girl who loves everyone she has met so far! Good with other dogs, cats, people, and kids. She is a docile, mellow girl who would make an excellent companion. Looking for a cuddlebug? Oats is your girl! Meet Linden, a handsome ~2 year old chihuahua/small terrier mix, weighing about 15 lbs! Linden was rescued from a hoarding/neglect case in Kentucky along with the other Tree pups (Magnolia, Pine, Sycamore, etc.). He is currently being fostered in CT and is ready to find his furever home!  Linden is a shy/nevous boy who takes some time to trust and warm up to new people. He wants so badly to connect with people, but he is scared and unsure. Once he knows you are safe, he is very sweet! He is looking for someone who will be patient with him and give him a little time and space to come to them on his own terms. Linden is good with other dogs, cats (he ignores tbem), people, and older kids 8+ who know to respect a dog's space (due to his nervous/timid nature). From Linden's current foster:  "Linden is making great progress! Although he remains a bit shy, he has shown remarkable improvement and is such a sweet pup. We’ve started teaching him some basic commands, focusing on "come" and "sit." He understands "come," but we're still working on "sit." He’s fantastic on the leash, enjoys his walks and recently enjoyed trips to Petco and Home Depot,  he was a bit scared at first but did great." Good with dogs, cats, people, and kids. Young puppies are like blank slates who, with proper training and socialization, will grow into wonderful dogs.  Apply to meet these sweet puppies today! Meet Philly (aka Gunner), a super sweet and goofy young neutered male Beagle/Plott Hound mix (see DNA results in photos), weighing about 55 lbs! Philly is just over a year old (born 8/2024 to mama Paulina - he is one of the "P" litter pups!). Philly was adopted as a young puppy and, through no fault of his own, he is being returned to PRL due to changes in his adopter's family. His adopters love him and want what is best for him, but they no longer have the time to give him the attention he deserves. They made the difficult decision to surrender him back to PRL, so that he can find the perfect forever family who can give him the time, attention, and love he deserves. We promised Philly we'd find him just that! Philly is a friendly, lovable boy who does not have a mean bone in his body! He LOVES other dogs and has also done great with cats and children. He is smart and treat motivated (typical hound! 🐶) - he knows how to sit, stay, paw, wait, and lay down. He is a young, energetic pup who would thrive in a home that can give him exercise (physical and/or mental) every day. He would love to have another young, playful doggo sibling to romp around with and get out his zoomies! He would also make a great adventure buddy - hiking, running, and/or joining you on family outings would be right up his alley! He is medically up to date and housebroken. Truly a 100% good doggo who will bring lots of love and joy into your life! Apply to meet this special boy today!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. Meet Coco, a super sweet 1 year old spayed female chihuahua mix, weighing about 16 lbs! She has the cutest little face, and we suspect she may have some pug and dachshund in her as well.  Coco is a friendly, playful girl who gets along with everyone! Good with other dogs of all sizes (she has no problem keeping up with bigger dogs), cats, people, and kids. She is a little social butterfly! 🦋 She also walks nicely on leash.  From Coco's current foster:  "Coco is playful, loves walks, toys, and playing with other dogs of all sizes. Super cuddly, loves to have her head scratched and belly rubbed. Needs a little finishing training (doesn’t know many commands, and confused about the difference between dog toys and slippers) but she’s well behaved overall and has good house manners."  She is medically up to date, crate trained, pad trained, and outdoor potty trained. Meet Teak, a ~6-8 year old spayed female chihuahua/small terrier mix, weighing about 11 lbs! We believe she may have some dachshund in her as well. Teak was rescued from a hoarding/neglect case in east TN along with the other Tree pups (Magnolia, Pine, Sycamore, etc.). She is currently being fostered in CT with Sycamore while she waits to find her furever home.  Teak is a shy/nevous girl who takes some time to trust and warm up to new people. Having another dog around helps her to feel safer and to let her guard down a bit, so she would likely do best in a home with another dog. Once she knows you are safe, she is very sweet!! She is looking for someone who will be patient with her and give her a little time and space to come to them on her own terms. She is worth the wait! 💕  Teak is good with other dogs, cats, people, and older kids 8+ who know to respect a dog's space (due to her nervous/timid nature).  She is medically up to date, housebroken (expect accidents the first few days while acclimating to a new environment/routine), and crate trained.
